I will TG everyone who was involved in the roleplay previously to post here if they are interested in being a running mate. All presumptive or possible presidential nominees should consider who they would most like to see rejoin the RP as their running mate — not the same character, but the same player with a different character. Reach out to those people and get an idea for what character they might play.
For the conventions themselves, feel free to roleplay any speeches given at the convention, as well as any private interactions — with party officials, with potential running mates, with campaign staff, with delegates, etc.
The GOP nomination will effectively be determined by the unpledged delegates previously pledged to other candidates. Whitehorse has 43, Caulfield has 22, and Fox has 1. Those candidates can command their delegates to vote for a certain candidate. There are another 85 from states and territories that do not pledge delegates. They will vote randomly. Egilson needs 26 to win, while Wright needs 125. The ballots for the GOP convention will be cast [i.e., results posted] on June 13, at 8pm EST, on the Espernet channel #GOPconvention. They will be subsequently posted to the forum.
One last nugget — for those wondering, excluding other candidates throughout the primaries, Egilson won 52.14% of votes while Wright won 47.86% of votes. Egilson won 25 contests, while Wright won 28 contests.
WOOOOOOO HOWDY!
I really wanted this to happen. I'm so happy that it's happening like this.
