Description of Military:

The English Defence Association is the official military wing of England. It is headed by the Lord Protector and manages through it's Staff Council. It has good quality, but some flaws. It is split into six branches.

The English Army is both the primary branch in the military and the largest of all branches. It is organized into army groups, field armies, corps, divisions and so on. The EA personnel are skilled and well-trained. Their main firearms includes M16s, SA80s, M4 carbines, MP5s, WW2-era SMGs and pistols. Vehicles includes tanks, helicopters, cars, motorcycles, APCs (armored personnel carriers) and, yes, horses.

The English Navy is more better than the PCN. It consists of four destroyers (Lionheart, Cromwell, Trafalgar and Elizabeth), 20 small ACW-era ironclads, 20 light gunboats and several patrolling boats, as well as some helicopters. It also has submarines and aircraft carriers, but those are stationed and inactive for the time being, although some say they don't even exist. Each fleet has a destroyer, 5 ironclads and 5 light gunboats since patrolling boats are used for the purpose of patrolling the coasts of England.

The English Air Force is a true successor to the RAF and much better than the PCAF. It's structure is stable and honest. It's aircrafts includes 60 Spitfires (who are the primary military aircrafts), 40 bombers, 6 cargoplanes, 20 trainers and some modern fighter jets from the 1990s. The pilots are skilled and learned from those who fought before them in the RAF.

The English Marine Corps is a hybrid between the EA and the EN. It is skilled in amphibian warfare and is the same as th EA.

The English Defence Police is a gendarmerie capable of enforcing martial law. It is a militarized version of British law enforcement complete with military equipment and some police vehicles with mounted MGs.

The English Volunteer Force is a conscription-free militia set up by Ulster loyalists from Northern Ireland. While structured like that of an Ulster loyalist militia and operating mostly domestic, it's primary goal is to carry out counter-insurgency within parts of England that are controlled by crime syndicates and rebel groups.

Brief History:

When the crisis occured, the British government was taken over by left-wing extremists, resulting in right-wing politicians and some anti-leftist military personnel seeking refugee in the West of England. They decide to set up a new government in Birmingham, modeled after the Commonwealth from the English Civil War, seeing the current situation in the UK as similar to that of the civil war, with them being the Roundheads and the Packardians being the Cavaliers. Around 2002, the new government became a military-led republic under Lord Protector Arthur Cromwell and a new legislature called the English National Parliament, composed of the upper Hpuse of Officers and the lower House of Commoners. Two political parties were set up, the Conservative Front and the Liberal Coalition. Socialists were barred from politics due to strong anti-socialist sentiment within the government, resulting in several socialists declaring insurgency against the government through organizations like the English Liberation Front and the Diggers. As a result, the English Defence Association (EDA) made efforts against insurgents via martial law and strategic ambush.

There are active border skirmishes in England, mostly border skirmishes between it and the DPRE. There are also skirmishes at the Welsh border between the Welsh government and English marauders. The EVF and the EA made effort to drive these marauders away from the Welsh border, but it was hard due to Welsh border guards accidently mistaking them for rival marauders.

The Protectorate of England sees itself as the sole government of England and doesn't recognize the DPRE, which had led to devastating conflicts. The year is now 2020, which in the English calendar is 20 AFL (After the Fall of London).
