Name:
Tom Jones
Alias:
Blur
Appearance:
Image

Gender:
Male
Age:
18
Build:
Athletic but more like a track star build than a footballer
Sexual orientation:
Straight

Powers:
Superhuman Speed: He can run at extreme speeds, right now about 240 MPH but that will expand over time, and is also able to mentally move as fast allowing him to have a perception much faster than normal humans letting him keep up with his body or giving him ample time to think through a problem.

Enhanced Durability: His skin and body are able to take the physical damage that naturally would occur at high speeds. He is not bulletproof.

Drawbacks and Limitations:
The durability does not cover bullets etc. His speed is inherently unlimited due to his body acting as a generator running on water and producing water but he still gets physically tired after some time like anyone who runs for an extended amount of time.

Equipment:
His suit
Image

Personality:
He is funny and likes to make jokes even at sometimes inappropriate times. He is decently humble and doesn't like to brag too much. He looks up to his sister as a role model and quasi-protector stemming from times she stood up for him as a child although he loves messing with her and others by pulling pranks and other little jokes.

Nationality:
American
Hometown:
Richmond, Virginia

Bio:
Tom was born to a psychologist father and nurse mother in Richmond. Growing up he had a mostly normal childhood until the age of 14 when he was visiting his dad's work one day along with his sister. Waiting for their father to get done with a meeting the two slipped out of his office and wandered around a bit before splitting up.
While Elizebeth went on to find a chemical lab room, Tom found himself in a room filled with machines with a strange metal orb and a few chemicals flowing in tubes near it. With his curiosity peaked, he made for the orb and touched it. At that moment he was hit by a surge of electricity throwing him back into the chemicals, most notably hydrogen peroxide. As he was coated in and even digested some of these chemicals he was hit by more electricity coming from the now unstable orb. Unbeknownst to him, his body was basically becoming a water-powered fuel cell. Shortly after this happened the emergency systems shut down the room ending the electricity.

Waking up a few hours later in a hospital bed their father, looking worried, explained to both of them what had happened. He had been working with a group called ARGUS on a few experiments that would give a person powers. However, the cocktail Elizabeth had been exposed to was only part of the full one and gave her powers only relating to love and intimacy. While Tom had received the full benefits of the experiment he had stumbled across.

From that day they have been trained on their powers, with Tom receiving a special suit to help protect him until they were both recently invited to the academy.

Skills:
Pranks, hand to hand combat, physics.

Flaws:
Is sometimes less serious than he should be and often underestimates an enemies ability to hit him.

Aditional Info:

Their mother was on of the people killed last ark. Can generate small static shocks slightly stronger than what normal people get from rubbing on carpet.

I made something to close off the story of Jess (which I was never able to do in the IC because of time reasons). There's a video version too that was supposed to look like a VN, but the aspect ratio is shit so it looks better as a series of slides.

Mary: Hello, Jess.
Jess: What am I doing here?
Mary: I brought your spirit here to say, "Good-bye".
Jess: Well, Fuck off. I'll see you in Hell.
Mary: Nope, you won't even exist there. (Spirit Fire) (No more Jess, anywhere in time and space)

Interestingly one extra frame added into the animated version of the story implies that Jess wasn't a ghost but rather having a vision while dying, while the pure slides version implies the opposite and has her in a purgatory like state.

Name: Saya Ki-Tan
Alias: Olympia
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Female
Age: Reported to be 21.
Build: 5'7", athletic build.
Sexual orientation: Heterosexual

Powers:
  • Body Chemistry Alteration: Saya can manipulate the chemistry and physical makeup of major systems within her body. For example, if she is running long distances, she can alter her lungs to take in more air and her legs to slow the buildup of lactic acid. This allows her to, essentially, become a wholly new person upon command if she needs to. If she needs to be an excellent detective, she can become that. If she needs to become a strongman, she can make the necessary changes.

Drawbacks and Limitations:
  • Obviously, her powers cannot go past a certain limit. Everything must be within a reasonable range. These upper limits are variable, but do not let her become incredibly powerful in any one domain. For example, if she alters her brain chemistry to process information better, she cannot go higher than a mid-range postcog.

Equipment:
  • SIG SG516 w/ Vertical Foregrip, M68 Close Combat Optic, and a 3x Magnifier.
  • Beretta 93R
  • Ka-Bar Knife
  • Assorted other equipment

Personality: Hard-nosed and to the point, Saya is focused on little else other than her work. She can be cold at times, but most often only comes off as either disinterested or simply distracted from any conversation. However, if you can catch her eye or her attention, she will be more than happy to devote time to you. She is also an excellent manipulator, often adopting an entirely new personality to deal with certain individuals depending on the nature of what she needs from them. Despite this, in her natural state, she is goal-oriented and ruthlessly efficient.

Nationality: Korean-American
Hometown: San Francisco
Bio: [REDACTED]

Skills: Excellent combatant at any range, formidable interrogator and manipulator, and creative.
Flaws: Not the best people-person, crippling addiction to nicotine.

Additional Info: Voice

Name: Natalie Klein/Gwen
Alias: Symbiote

Appearance:

I looked for a long time, and I couldn't find a pic that suited my mental image, so let's just go with a description. Natalie is Caucasian and has long, straight, light-brown hair, usually tied into a ponytail or bun to keep out of her eyes, which are chestnut-brown. Her cheekbones are very high and sharp, and are the widest part of her face, resulting in her face being long, narrow, and diamond-shaped. Her forehead and jaw are very narrow, with a pointed chin.

In terms of body frame and body type, Natalie is somewhere between an ectomorph and a mesomorph. Her body shape is rectangular, despite the fact she is very lean, with a narrow frame and small shoulders. Despite this, she is very athletic and strong, and the fruits of her fitness-related labours are visible, especially in the leg area.

She doesn't have many distinguishing marks, tattoos, or piercings on her body, besides a few moles here and there on her neck and collarbone. She does have two small tattoos though; an American flag on her left upper arm, near her shoulder, and a German flag on the side of her left thigh, to represent the two sides of her heritage. However, the most curious body mark is her symbiote, which lies on the top ridges of her arms, most of her upper back and the back of her neck in dormant phase. It looks like a single, black mass, as if someone threw ink across her body. If you look carefully, sometimes you will see it wriggle and quiver a bit. When it comes alive, it simply rises off of her back as one, solid black mass, which looks a bit like hardened liquid, or even like a tangle of roots.

Image
Ignore the girl on the right, black demon is what you want.

Gender: Female
Age: 19
Build: 5'6, 131 lbs, lean and athletic
Sexual Orientation: A 1 on the Kinsey Scale

Powers:

  • Symbiotic Life Form: Natalie is bonded to, and acts as a host for a symbiotic parasite living inside her body, which rests on her skin. She calls this life form "Gwen", an affectionate pet name she came up with. Gwen is an actual living being, and possesses not only cognitive thought, but emotions, and even a distinct personality. It is even able to experience the five senses, acting as Natalie's second pair of eyes. However, this parasite is more than that, and comes with a set of very powerful offensive abilities.

    • Symbiotic Abilities: In its dormant phase, the symbiote enhances Natalie's condition and makes her much stronger than she once was. Thanks to the powerful abilities the symbiote holds, Natalie is granted enhanced strength, speed, durability, instincts, and senses. She can lift and throw cars, hit top speeds of 40 MPH in a pure sprint, and take shots from rifles and keep moving. Her battlefield and stealth instincts are honed to high levels, and her senses are boosted to the point where she can hear pins drop, identify people by their smells, and discern tiny amounts of individual ingredients in a dish. In her words; "All in all, pretty damn cool."

    • Active Symbiote: However, when just her condition is not enough, Gwen can come alive and attack by itself, to help aid Natalie. It will arise from her skin while still remaining attached, forming into whatever form it requires at that moment in time. Gwen most commonly forms a set of tentacles/tendrils for puncturing and wrapping, but she can form several other objects such as blades, fists, hammers, weights, and even more complicated attacks like drills, saws, and spikes. The constructs are as tough as steel, and can do serious damage to the human body. However, it can do a lot more than form constructs. Gwen has the unique ability to transform into a thick, viscous liquid, allowing it to shift and move as it needs, slink up and stick to surfaces, get into tight spaces, and generally gain mobility. It is very tough, being able to suspend Natalie's entire weight, and survive most blunt and sharp traumas.

    • Symbiote Suit: Sometimes though, the battle is so fierce that Natalie and Gwen need to bond together to form...the Symbiote Suit. In essence, Gwen and Natalie fuse together to form one single mind over two separate ones, while Gwen forms a tough, strong armor around Natalie, as a form fitting suit. Natalie's already-powerful strength in her human form is enhanced even further, allowing her to pull off amazing feats, such as kicking down reinforced doors, smashing through brick walls, survive attacks from knives and small firearms like pistols, and much more. This also allows her to harness the abilities of Gwen, such as creating weapons, using tentacles to attack, infiltrate tiny machinery with her liquid, and even climb up walls with the symbiote's sticky properties.
  • Telepathic Link: Natalie and Gwen are able to telepathically communicate with each other, and see and sense what the other sees and senses. They do this pretty much 24/7. Pretty straightforward stuff.

  • Basic Combat Training: While by no means an expert, Natalie has some basic knowledge of hand-to-hand combat and marksmanship, meaning she's not a complete sitting duck in a fight.

Drawbacks and Limitations:

  • Not Invincible: Yes, the symbiote makes Natalie powerful, but she is far from invincible. In the symbiote's dormant phase, she can lift cars, survive gunshots, and keep up with cars. But she can't do much more than that. Shots from powerful firearms like snipers can still kill her, she can't teleport or move any faster than 50 MPH, and anything more than lifting a car is going to be extremely difficult, or even impossible to do. This also translates into her fused form, where, while her power is strong, it does have concrete limits and she can't go beyond those limits. As for Gwen, it's not actually very tough, having around the same durability as steel. Meaning, it can be broken quite easily by strong opponents and can't do much in return.

  • Slow: Okay, so it's not immobile, per say, but its mobility is quite limited. When in armor form, as Gwen is mostly solid and needs to become a thick liquid to move quickly, flexibility in the armor is extremely limited, making it difficult to move and run around a lot, or go into battles with opponents that require a lot of movement. Gwen tries her best to make flexible enough joints, but they definitely hamper Natalie's progress inside the suit. Gwen isn't the fastest in her regular form either, to boot. While she can move at a decent enough speed, she's a lot slower than most humans, especially ones with superpowers, and is mostly used to provide coverage and infiltration for Natalie.

  • Mental Confusion: When Gwen is activated, but not fused with Natalie, her and Natalie's telepathic connection is fully open and flooding with thoughts, senses, and emotions. While Natalie and Gwen have worked to learn how to filter some of this unwanted mental debris, a heated battle can cause both of them to become overwhelmed, leading to confusion, mental exhuastion, and even being knocked out cold from the sheer mental power.

  • Connected by Life: Finally, this is their most crippling weakness, and one neither even knows about. If Natalie is to lose her life, Gwen will lose her host, and will quickly die without a host to live off of and provide a steady supply of nutrients. But, this connection runs two ways. If Gwen dies but Natalie remains alive, the resulting flow of toxins and chemicals will fatally poison Natalie, causing severe sickness...and death.

Equipment: Two butterfly knives, which she is adept at using. A single Sig Sauer P365. Other than that collection of weaponry, not much else, just some personal knickknacks.

Personality: Natalie has a lust for life, and is devoid of practically any fear a person is supposed to have. She is very fun-loving and confident, and has the guts to do practically anything she sets her mind to. To say she's brave is a severe understatement. This courage, confidence, and reckless attitude has also given her a strong sense of pride and a self-confessed "huge" ego. She holds herself in a very high regard because of her powers, and is very cocky, almost arrogant regarding her powers, something that comes out when she's insulted. But she does try to be friendly to other people and does care about them, even if she doesn't show it well.

But then there's her symbiote, the one that shares her body with her, whom she calls "Gwen". Gwen is her calm, down-to-earth, snarky, and somewhat hard-nosed counterpart. While Natalie does possess concerns for others' safety and well-being, Gwen is the definition of a lone-wolf, putting herself and Natalie above everyone else, and often being very selfish and self-serving when those opportunities come her way. She always remains cool and collected, almost frosty, and is usually the pessimism to Natalie's optimism, being the one with the plan. Oh, and her greatest superpower? Her effective use of sarcasm, and, even better, expletives.

Nationality: American-German
Hometown: Kaiserslautern, Germany

Bio:
Natalie Klein was the daughter of an American Army Nurse and a German man, a relationship formed while her mother was stationed in Germany, at the Kaiserslautern military base. Natalie's early childhood was very eventful, always being on the move every couple of years thanks to her mother's career, and living all over the world, in places like mainland US, Hawaii, South Korea, Germany, Kuwait, and Italy, while her father worked as a handyman in various locations. She never spent more than two or three
years in a single location, always on the move and finding new schools, new people, and new places. While most children would have hated it, she loved seeing new places as she grew older, leading to a thirst for travel and exploration.

However, her life was changed forever when she was 16. Life was good up until then. Her dad was now finding a more constant stream of work, things were going well in the army for her mother, and they were all heading back to Colorado for skiing, relaxation and a new place for the foreseeable future. But it all changed on the flight to Colorado, as the plane hit bad turbulence and began to lose altitude just minutes before they were due to reach the airport. The plane crashed in an open field a mere two minutes away from the airport, resulting in severe damage and injuries all across the craft. Luckily, only a handful died, and the Klein family were among the survivors. While her mother and father escaped with only light injuries, the same could not be said for Natalie, who suffered a fractured spine.

She was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent several surgeries to repair her spine, but it was no use. While they were able to preserve her body's feeling, along with some movement in her hands and neck, she was paralyzed from the neck down, confined to a wheelchair.

The knowledge that she would never be able to walk again devastated Natalie, sending into her in a spiral of depression and drug use. She was always unhappy, always remembering how life was when she had full motion of herself. She was desperate for anything, literally anything that would help her.

One day, when she was 18, her prayers were answered. Her family, through their affiliation with the military, became aware of a highly advanced military project. The project involved a set of technology-enhanced organic life forms, ones that had actual consciousness and human-like thoughts, and powerful, malleable bodies, potentially healing people's bodies if they were suffering a life-altering condition. But, they needed a human host to live, as they often died by themselves or with animal hosts, as humans were the only species with the mental prowess and bio-development to take such a force on the body. The project was so dangerous that they chose to only accept a dozen individuals for testing, and only ones with grievous conditions. Thanks to her family's army connections to some of the key figures involved with the project, along with some money donated to the project as a bribe, Natalie was chosen to be one of the twelve lucky individuals selected for testing and injection.

The surgery and experiment worked, but not in the way the leaders of the project foresaw. The symbiote, instead of living inside of her organs as expected, it instead bonded to the outside of her skin, and wormed several tendril like appendages up her spine, readjusting it and becoming "nerves" of its own, connecting the two mentally. And even stranger, the symbiote enhanced her actual body, boosting her muscle mass and bone strength, and making her more powerful than any human.

Upon waking up, Natalie was overjoyed to find she could walk again, as well as the fact that she was blessed with superpowers, but was dismayed to find another voice sharing her consciousness. At first, the two bickered constantly and were reluctant to interact, but soon, they grew to be companions of sort, always mentally trading observations, thoughts, and feelings.

Eventually, when she was eighteen, and her and Gwen were seamlessly integrated into each other, and had learned of the full scope of their power's, they learned of the Novum Saeculum Academy, and, with Natalie's family's blessing, headed off for a new gig as a superhero trainee.

Skills: Natalie's very athletic and strong, much more than you'd expect for someone of her size and frame. She's very quick thinking and good on her feet, being able to change up and adapt quickly to the task at hand. This, coupled with her skill in combat and marksmanship means she can be a formidable opponent. She is extremely confident and courageous, and this allows her to preform most tasks she sets her mind to. Also, knows a lot about music. Like, way too much.

Flaws: Natalie, while a very prideful, persevering, and strong-willed fighter, can be very...hardheaded. While perseverance and a strong will are important in a fight, it can sometimes end up putting Natalie in a very sticky situation. She doesn't like to listen to direction that doesn't come from authority figures, and finds it hard to swallow her pride even when it does come from an authority figure. Which is a nice way to say she can sometimes be overconfident, bordering on arrogant, which can cause her to often fight with her peers and doesn't make her the best team player. This also comes in the form of constantly bickering with Gwen, as the two's radically different mindsets and their massive egos often collide and lead to some great confusion in battle.

Aditional Info: Has a very light German lilt to her voice.

Looks good. Might like to nerf the max top speed to possibly 40? And possibly lower the durability out of the symbiote suit to take damage from rifles?

As Elizabeth "Cupid" Jones is mine now, I'm re-doing some of it. Because I can.

Name:
Elizabeth Jones
Alias:
Cupid
Appearance:
Image

Gender:
Female
Age:
20
Build:
Very athletic, full, pear-shaped.
Sexual orientation:
Bisexual
Powers & Abilities:
Amokinesis https://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Love_Manipulation
She can induce varying levels of feelings of love and attraction in people from deep homicidal hatred to absolute obsession.
Odikinesis
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Hatred_Manipulation
User can sense and manipulate the hatred of themselves, people, animals and other creatures, whether by increasing, decreasing, causing or otherwise channeling hatred, even manifesting the emotional energy to physical level.

Acrobatics: Cupid has focused on staying agile, quick, and flexible, training daily to keep her body ready for any situation.
Archery: Since her youngest days, Elizabeth has always been heavily invested into archery, competing in tournaments as a younger girl and continuing on using her archery skills under the mantle of Cupid. She conducts archery practice every day and has recorded 22 arrows a minute.
Martial Arts: Elizabeth has studied martial arts when she can, although she is far from the skills of Iron Owl or even Sparrow. She is proficient in Eskrima, utilizing her bow as a weapon, and Krav Maga.

Drawbacks and Limitations:
Using her powers requires focus and will slowly drain her depending on how many people she is affecting at the time. If an affected target realizes they are under Cupid's influence, the target can easily fight off the mental attack. The effects can last an hour to five hours if used with moderate focus, to three to six days if she exhausts herself.
Equipment:
Recurve Bow made from red oak, painted pink with violet swirls marking across the whole bow
Metal quiver with wood detailing and a single heart etched onto the outer portion of it, filled with 20 arrows

Personality:
Elizabeth is widely known to flirt unapologetically with anyone who fits her standards. She is bubbly normally. When in combat, she is the opposite. She does whatever she can to win.

Nationality:
American

Hometown:
Richmond, Virginia

Bio:
Elizabeth was born to a Marcus Jones, a psychologist and Melanie Jones, a nurse in Richmond. Growing up she had a mostly normal childhood until the age of 17 when she was visiting her dad's work one day. Waiting for her father to get done with a meeting she slipped out of his office and wandered around a bit before finding the lab room. Inside she was faced with several chemicals and some machinery. Being a tad nosey she got closer and accidentally hit a switch that activated the experiment. In seconds the chemicals started to drain, being turned into gases although she didn't know that, and the room started to fill with a pink fog. Then came a wave of radiation emitted from the machinery she had seen. Elizabeth passed out.

Waking up a few hours later in a hospital bed her father, shaky and worried, explained to her what had happened. He had been working with a group called ARGUS on a chemical cocktail that would give a person powers over people's emotions. However, the cocktail Elizabeth had been exposed to was only part of the full one and gave her powers only relating to love and intimacy. Now becoming part of the Argus experiment, Her father introduced her to Argus officials and joined into a program called Project Thevma, named for the greek goddess of Emotions. To assist in further advancing her powers, Argus approved of her joining the Novum Saeculum Academy.

Flaws:
She can get carried away with her powers and can meddle in people's lives too much. To hold such power of controlling love and hate, she is still considered immature.

Name: Garret Wolman
Alias: Wolfenstein
Appearance:
Image

Image

Gender: Male
Age: 36
Build: Mesomorphic build, muscle-emphasized
Sexual orientation: Straight

Powers:
Hyperkinesis: Gives him superhuman balance, aim, and reflexes. He can also predict the trajectory of objects in motion. This makes him a perfect shot and allows him to dodge bullets or trip a running person to cause him to fall into a specific position. His hyperkinesis also allows him to retrace the path of a projectile from only the apparent end result.

Foresight: He can see 10-20 seconds into his future. This future can change depending on what he does-- for example, if he sees that he's going to get pulled over for speeding down the street, he may slow down and avoid getting pulled over. Similarly, if he's about to be attacked, he can use this time to briefly ready himself and catch his attacker off guard. This ability can be "turned off", for lack of a better term, but flips back on instinctively and at-will.

Drawbacks and Limitations:
His foresight causes him to experience moments over and over again. For example, in a conversation, he might see 20 different scenarios play out in his mind in a millisecond, all depending on what he says. Having done this, he may forget that these moments haven't actually happened yet. This has caused him to simply end a conversation because he thought it was over, and even see his daughter die a thousand times instead of once.

Equipment:
1x M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle (7.62x51mm, bipod & scope attached) (Hundreds of other weapons, but the M39 is his favorite.)
1x Glock 19 (3 extra magazines)
Wrist-mounted 28 Gauge shotgun (1 shot)
1x Bootknife
Adapted Combat and Precision Battle Suit

Personality: Garret prefers to stay cocky and full of himself, finding situations less stressful when deploying humor. Garret prefers to do whatever it takes to finish a job.

Nationality: American
Hometown: Ogden, Utah
Bio: Garret grew up in Nevada, and joined the ROTC at the University of Nevada at age 18. At 22, he graduated with a degree in Physics and a minor in engineering. He worked as an officer in the Marines for six years, overseeing combat engineers in a variety of duties, including clearing minefields, bridge construction, and bomb disposal. When he left the Marines he went back to school and graduated with a PhD in Physics from Cal Tech. He obtained a research grant and a teaching position at the University of Utah, where he imagined he would live for the rest of his life.
When he was 29, his daughter was 3. His wife had left him after an unhappy marriage in the military, calling him nuts when he told her he thought he could see the future. He and his only child were living in Salt Lake City when she was diagnosed with cancer. She died a year later at 4. When she died, Garret blamed the insurance company for not putting approving treatments he thought could save her, and also blamed a doctor who had recommended against the treatments. He quit his teaching job and research at U of U and seemingly disappeared.
A few months later, the doctor who argued against the treatment was found dead in his home, having been skinned alive from his head down to his waist. A couple weeks later, and the headquarters of Mountain Spring Insurance Co. was firebombed, leaving dozens dead, including the company's Board of Directors. Both events were caused by Garret, who had become consumed by rage and revenge. Having began this road, he could not-- and did not want to-- see a way out of it. People needed to be avenged of the wrongs done to them, and he would be there, in the shadows, ready to put his training and skills to use. Sure, he would occasionally have to take a questionable contract for the incredible pay, but he primarily pursued contracts that met his moral code.
Garret was not questioned, or even thought to be involved with, the doctor's murder or the bombing by local police. He primarily operates in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California. He has since retired from being an assassin-for-hire after he was severely injured in a bombing orchestrated by Iron Owl. He's now 36.

Skills: Garret is proficient in Krav Maga, Tai Kwon Do, Wing Chun, and Judo.

OP -

So, is the Academy and profs going to be hearing of SD's machinations and get into the fight?

I ask, because I'm trying to figure out what to do. And I wouldn't mind Molly fighting Corpus again.

Yes, they are the closest heroes, so they'll be deployed likely pending backup they won't get there for a while (hour or more)
