And We are the ones stupid enough to try and lock them up."
In 1922 a group of individuals from all around the globe came together to discuss a matter with monumental ramifications. They were researchers, explorers, scientists, soldiers, royals, doctors, and many more of the like. At the core of their conversation were the objects we have come to call "artifacts" or "anomalies". They determined that if the world became aware of the existence of objects of supernatural power it could descend into chaos. If someone with selfish and corrupt motivations was allowed to use their unique abilities, the world would have no defense. At that meeting of 14 strangers in a small pub in London, the Institute was born. We are the continuation of the ideal created in that Pub. We chase down and lock up artifacts and anomalies, keeping the world safe from the danger they don't even know is there. We have our fair share of enemies, however, and you will have to remain vigilant at all times.
welcome to Containment! This RP is heavily inspired by the SCP Foundation and Warehouse 13. I do want to clearly state that this is NOT an SCP roleplay or set in the SCP universe. This merely takes inspiration from SCP. All of the anomalies in this RP will be original content created by me or other RPers.
For this RP you will be one of the foundation's new recruits in 2018. You don't have to be anyone special or have any special talents, but you were selected for a number of reasons including but not limited to your psychological profile, any military service, intelligence, or simply for the fact that you are normal without any illusions or grandeur or character traits that could lead to an abuse of power. Your character can, and is expected to, come from any walk of life.
About a week ago you received a strange, almost brown, envelope marked only with an inverted and bisected greek delta. Inside was a two-page letter offering you a very vaguely described job. The most of what it said was, "...entailing the locating and containing of priceless artifacts..." Despite your better judgment, there was something about the letter that you just couldn't shake. It seemed legitimate even though there were no validating points. The pay was good, better than what you were currently making, and it said a representative would arrive shortly after a business reply letter was sent to a strange address in Nebraska. You prepared the letter and put it in your mailbox; what happened next was strange to say the least...
