First, they're over an ocean right now and "landing" basically involves crashing into the water, and second, the students don't assume control of the airship, which the staff are already working on as far as this situation goes.

Many of the students on board the airship would get little to no sleep because of the constant cracks of lightning outside, and the exterior of the ship was scorched and damaged in some places by the strikes. Radar systems weren’t working at peak efficiency, sometimes they were blacking out entirely, and there had been fires around the propulsion systems that were since put out. When morning actually came, there was an announcement saying that classes were cancelled because of the need to direct staff members towards other tasks on this day. But most of the students were already up and moving, and going about their activities now that classes had been put off.

At least, that was what they were doing until the largest lightning bolt yet struck the airship, causing the place to go pitch black as the reserve engines kicked in, but not the reserve lighting and electronics systems just yet. They were flying blind, quite literally right now.

This post says that we still have engines so we aren't even a threat to crash right now. Although Lana did see that in the future but judging from our position in the North Atlantic and the destination of the crash she saw, that's awhile off.

I was just thinking of how this current arc is going and after this one ends, I'm deciding if I want to finish the series of arcs around Summer, or switch to another storyline that might help us get back on track in terms of having more quality in the IC.

If we switch arcs, we would be doing a 3 arc set titled Lions of Venezia, which would send us to Venice and have us investigating a mysterious and secretive order that poses a threat to the Kings. This is also heavily related to, if any of you remember it, the metallic blob from arc 2. The series would culminate in a large battle, hopefully, while earlier parts would force characters to ask questions and investigate rather than just acting. How many of you want that for arc 4?

If we switch arcs, we would be doing a 3 arc set titled Lions of Venezia, which would send us to Venice and have us investigating a mysterious and secretive order that poses a threat to the Kings. This is also heavily related to, if any of you remember it, the metallic blob from arc 2. The series would culminate in a large battle, hopefully, while earlier parts would force characters to ask questions and investigate rather than just acting. How many of you want that for arc 4?

I'm supportive of this. This could also be a chance for much of the newer ones to get their first taste of combat and also to allow them to choose their teams more clearly and quickly than just going through the motions. On the other hand, it would be risky as maybe lots would die
