Legends of The Last Roman

“Jean?”

Ritsuka looked at Tart for a good long second. Sure the class system allowed for other kinds of appearances for each heroic spirit but for Tart... well, she was, how to put this the right way… Underdeveloped unlike the Jean D'arc Ritsuka knew, and might be a lilly version. Maybe? There is something off about this one and Ritsuka haven’t connected the dots together. This might be hard.

Then the awkward stares from Jean and the question from the knight, oh man, this will be weird! The guy spoke of a kingdom that doesn’t exist or that Ritsuka even knew at all!

“Hi, my name is Ritsuka Fujimaru from the Chaldeas. I know it sounds like a strange place, which it is, but I actually came from Japan too.” She chuckled. Sure sure, Japan in this era might not be all well known! “But ahem, Jean and I have decided to partner up and travel across the land, which caused us to end up getting lost on the road.”

Granted, Ritsuka had to sweat a little, as that was the biggest cover story filled with obvious holes like ever. Um, she knew that Jean in this era would be too busy in France and won’t deviate from her goals, but it was better than nothing.

Ritsuka groaned a little as she realized “Oh yeah, sugar is a super expensive item at this time period.” when Aelia called her out on that part. Heck, even her share change of yens would be all that worth much as it wasn’t gold! Just the cheap metals. “Yeah… I don’t have much besides a bunch of coins from my homeland in my pocket. But thanks for the meal.”

When the bodyguards started to bully Ritsuka’s new servant, she crossed her arms, not amused by this nonsense. A servant can easily outclass any normal human soldiers, and by Jean’s level she can. Ritsuka approached Jean and stood by her side. “Don’t let those guys bother you Jean. I can see a tough small girl who can protect me and the others just fine.”

Eleutherius held on as the bomber shook from the impacts to the shield. He kept the ship squarely focused on the submarine, even as the others discovered the trap they had walked into, bobbing and weaving the ship through the hail of anti-aircraft weaponry. The Marine managed to fire off one more torpedo, but missed as the sub was knocked aside by a ramming move from Kongou. As he continued to follow U-3008, Fay's comment about the sensors was not lost in the Veteran Sergeant. He messaged to Fay. "Cover me. I'll handle the sensors."

Jean politely bowed at the Valerian and Jeanne. "'Canada'? I have not heard of such a foreign land. Surely you must have many tales to tell of it!" He looked over to Jeanne. "My father was born in France, you know. I have never personally been there, though. Too busy with my duties." The Knight smiled a bit when Jeanne said she was a bodyguard. "You're not someone I'd suspect to be a bodyguard. Tell me, how did you come about this role?"

WOFAM

Venera grunted as the projectile stabbed through her leg as she was flying, causing her to lose control of her flight for a short amount of time before stabilizing herself again. "Agh! Bitch!" She grunted and pulled the ice out of her leg, Cerulean blue blood gushing from the wound. "You're gonna fucking pay for that!" Before she could do anything stupid, Hersel dropped the blood he had and flew in to grab her, pulling her down behind the same cover that Violet had fallen behind. "Before you do anything stupid, Ven, we need to make a strategy here." He set her down and looked over the two wounded, using his powers to stop their bleeding. After that, the Heir looked over the cover and waved to Marcus and Alex to get the two to join them.

Rise of the Masked Man
New Bark Town
Muffet looked at Madison, then back down at her wand, then back up at the girl.
"Yeah, here's a question. Why are you pointing your magic stick at me?" she asked, her expression hardening a bit. "I'd much prefer if you didn't do that."

After a day's journey, the bus arrived in the quiet town of New Bark. As usual, the weather was pleasant, and calm. Birds could be heard chirping in trees dotted around the town's edge, and occasionally someone would pass by with their Pokemon.

Muffet woke the others up, and upon exiting the bus, looked around. There were various buildings, mostly short, being one or two stories, with rather simple and plain colors and architecture. One of the buildings stood out, however; it was a large building, with a huge field cleared out of the forest nearby. There was a sign above the entrance that read "Pokemon Biology Research Laboratory - Johto."

Muffet looked up at the sign, and nodded.
"Well, this is the place we were told to go to, right? 'Elm's Lab?'"

The short spider girl pushed the doors open and walked inside. The inside of the lab was filled with busy scientists going about their work. Looking to the back of the room, which was lined with bookshelves, a large open doorway was situated in the middle of the wall. Through that, Professor Elm, Gold's Mom, a couple of police officers, and a strange man in a trench coat could be seen talking. However, their words were muffled by distance.

The lab seemed to grow silent as Muffet and the others walked in, all eyes on the trio. The silence was only broken a few seconds in, as a strange, tree-like rock type Pokemon came out of Professor Elm's office, rounding the doorway and entering the main room. It sauntered up to the three newcomers, and raised a hand to greet them; its hand consisted of three large, green orbs, branching off of the end of its arm as if they were leaves.

The sudowoodo smiled in a friendly manner, and happily spoke some kind of gibberish in a high-pitched tone.
"Hah! Muram sudo, nesturmey!"

Muffet blinked, staring at the creature in confusion.
"Um... Hi...?"

Professor Elm approached the group, and placed a hand on the rock Pokemon's shoulder. He looked down towards Muffet, trying to hide a very confused expression; it was clear that he hadn't seen anything like her before, but didn't want to offend her.
"Hey, I see you've already met Sudo. My name is Professor Elm, and I'm the head researcher at this lab. What can I do for you?"

The man extended his hand, which Muffet shook.
"My name is Muffet, this is Madison, and this is Audrey." Muffet introduced, extending one of her hands on either side to introduce the other two women traveling with her. "We were told to see you. We're looking for a person named Gold? Do you know where he is?"

At the mention of Gold's name, the others inside Elm's office turned to look at Muffet and the others in the lobby. The man in the trench coat looked over the group, resting a hand on his chin.
"Hmm... So, you three are part of Gold's new group?" he asked.

"Gold's new group?" Muffet asked, somewhat confused. "Uh, I guess you could call it that. Who are you?"

"Oh, merde! How rude of me, I've not introduced myself! You can call me by my codename; Looker. I work with the Global Police, and have been assigned to the recent increase in Team Neo Rocket activity in this region."

"Global Police? Is it really that bad?" Muffet asked, taken aback.

Looker simply nodded.
"Team Rocket, even in its fractured state, has been causing trouble around the world for decades. We've just made a discovery that might be of great importance to what Gold and the group with him are dealing with right now. A resurgence of a type of technology not seen for quite some time, with some modifications. If we're correct, Neo Rocket's attempt as capturing Articuno has a much higher chance of success than we thought, originally. And if what we can gather about the recent fighting in Blackthorn City, Gold and the others could be in grave danger."

Blackthorn City
While Moira's show of gymnastics was impressive, it was also rather telegraphed, allowing the alakazam to dodge it; the spoon-weilder seemed to blink several meters to the side, a loud crack echoing out to the horizon from the displaced air.

Ty turned his head to look at the alakazam.
Is it really that fast? he thought to himself. How are a couple of Team Rocket members this powerful?

"Watch out, twelve o'clock!" Gold shouted.

Ty's head snapped back, and he rolled to the side, just in time to dodge another hydro pump attack from golduck.

"Ducky, use double team!" Ernie shouted.

The golduck seemed to quickly dart around, several identical clones of it surrounding Ty.

Ty's eyes flashed light blue, and he was able to detect the real golduck from the fakes, just before it moved to close in. Ty caught Ducky, holding him in place. Despite the effects of the toxic, Ty still had enough strength to block the golduck's attack.

"Dynamic Punch!" Gold shouted out.

Ty's right fist glowed a deep maroon, and he arced it forward and down, into the golduck. Ducky crashed straight downward into the ground with enough force to fracture the pavement, knocking it out cold.

"Ducky!" Ernie called out, rushing over to the fallen Pokemon. In response, the golduck murmured a strange, groaning sound.

Ty smirked, having won the match, but soon took a knee, kneeling over, sick. Gold rushed to Ty, pulling out a palm-sized, box-like spray bottle filled with some kind of green liquid. Spraying it on Ty, the badger quickly recovered, standing back up straight.

Despite all of this, Bert seemed too engaged with his side of the battle, focusing on battling Moira and the man with strange hair, and even stranger Pokemon.

"Alakazam, Confusion on the woman!"

Alakazam's eyes flashed, and just as it was about to strike, another crack echoed through the air; Gold's heracross flew like a bullet strait into alakazam's back, green-glowing horn first. A bright white light trailed behind the giant beetle, as the psychic Pokemon was launched several meters backward into a tree. The alakazam slammed into the middle of the trunk, snapping the tree in half before falling to the ground.

"Alakazam!" Bert shouted.

The Pokemon picked itself up and stuck its head out from under the cover of the downed foliage, and brushed several leaves off of itself, before turning back to the group. Bert smiled, taking a step forward.
"Alakazam, use psychic!"

Ty and Hera were both lifted into the air, and tossed several meters up.

A glint of light caught the Ty's peripheral vision just as he and Hera had been taken twenty meters off the ground. His eyes darted over, and caught the tail end of a shadowy cloak passing through the door of a shed in the back yard of a house nearby.

Is that-

Before he could finish his thought, he felt a shock as he and Hera were sent hurdling into the ground at high speed. Dirt and gravel were kicked up, flying through the air.

"Guys!" Gold rushed over to Ty and Hera, who both stood up with little trouble.

As the alakazam turned its attention towards Moira and Atem, it fired another powerful beam of psychic energy, sweeping the beam in an arc in an attempt to hit both of them with one attack.

Ty turned to Gold as he approached. His expression was a mix of focus and concern.
"I saw where the entrance is..."
"Grea-"
"I also saw the Masked Man entering it."
"...Shit."

Rocket Hideout
Pi looked at the frozen group, amused.
"Well done!"

However, the magneton and magnemite began unfreezing, just as Ammy and Issun appeared through another rift. Pi looked over towards the new arrivals, distracted.
Wait, who are-

There was a loud crack, as a huge bolt of lightning shot out of the magneton, striking Pi and sending him flying across the room. Pi stopped himself before hitting the wall, and righted himself. With a much more serious expression, Pi retaliated; a large black orb, surrounded by a purple aura, appeared and grew in size in front of Pi, to about the size of a basket ball. The shadow ball attack shot out at blindingly fast speeds, striking the magneton and creating a small explosion.

The magnemite split up, two of them going after Link and Percy, and two of them going after Ammy and Issun, firing large balls of electricity at the heroes; If the balls missed, they would fry and crack whatever surface they impacted. The air was filled with electrical and magnetic energy, making hair stand on end, and messing with the electronics in the room. The lights flickered, and the screens at the computer terminals began displaying static.

Drawn Through the Multiverse
Orbital Battle
"Affirmative." Fay spoke into her headset.

Fay pushed the accelerator forward with her left hand, beginning another approach of the submarine, and getting under the Klein field. She then twisted the control stick of her arwing to the right, and pressed the right foot pedal forward, spinning her fighter to the right. As Fay's ship drifted sideways to the left, she fired her lasers at U-3008; laser blasts tore across the side of the ship, destroying two of the sub's four automatic guns, as well as several of the torpedo tubes on the ship's port side.

"I've opened an approach from the enemy's port bow. I'll continue passes in order to-"

As Fay spoke, U-3008 launched a dozen corrosive torpedoes at both Fay and the assault bomber. Fay broke away from the submarine, and began flying evasively in an attempt to break the lock that the torpedoes had. She pulled her fighter upwards sharply, then slammed the control stick hard to the left.

The ship banked hard to the left, letting two of the torpedoes overshoot it.

Wha- Oh, that's right. I'm not in my arwing...

Fay twisted the ship around, firing her lasers and detonating three of the torpedoes. However, the last one tailing her made it through, and detonated, saturating the fighter's shields completely, and vaporizing the end of the right wing.

An alarm sounded off in the fighter's canopy, and a damage report came on screen; The damage wasn't anything that couldn't be repaired back on Corneria, but she wouldn't be able to fly in atmosphere, and the shields were entirely gone; this meant that any hit from the ship would likely destroy the fighter, with Fay inside.

Fay's heart nearly lept out of her chest.
From one torpedo!? she thought, trying to keep her panic to herself. However, her breathing was much heavier than normal, betraying her stress.

"Fay, are you okay!?" Miyu came over the commlink, worry pervading her voice.
"...Yeah, I'm okay... Shielding's been compromised, and considerable damage sustained to my starboard wing." Fay stated, still partially in shock.
"What was that?" Miyu asked. "A torpedo?"
"Yeah. One torpedo, and it launched twelve..."

"A Fog ship may hold hundreds of torpedoes." Kongou interjected. "In regards to your safety, it would be best to pull back."
"But we're still being overwhelmed!" Fay protested.

Meanwhile, beams of light continued to strike Kongou's Klein field.
"They're firing in a pattern..." Kongou stated, thinking. "They fire, change positions to avoid retaliation, then fire again..."

"What if we plotted all of the firing solutions over time together on a 3-D map? That might show us a better range of movement."

Kongou nodded, and brought up a model of the battle area, showing the positions of the various ships, and tracing the path of all of the beams that struck Kongou since the beginning of the battle, zooming out indefinitely.

"I would assume that whoever directed this wouldn't want to place the ships too far out. Even light takes time to move." Tadayoshi stated, looking over the 3-D map. "...They'd probably want to place them where they'd keep up with the battle, so they'd want to match Earth's orbit somehow."

Kongou held her chin in her right hand, switching the screen to a map of the Solar System.
"There are a number of Lagrangian points that could be used to achieve this." she stated. "Though, I can detect objects out to your Earth's Moon currently, and there are not enough radar responses to account for the amount of ships needed to produce this many laser trajectories..."

"So, they're further away than the Moon?" Tadayoshi asked.

"Most definitely. The next major point would use the Earth and Sun as a reference. There are five points where a celestial body could match Earth's orbit around the Sun."

Kongou overlayed a series of lines and dots over the Solar System map, which already had circles denoting the orbits of the planets. The first two points were equidistant from the Earth, about 1,500,000 kilometers away and mirroring each other, with the first point between the Earth and the sun. The next point was on Earth's orbital path, directly on the opposite side. The last two points were also on the orbital ring, forming an equilateral triangle with the third.

Tadayoshi looked at the map, thinking for some time.
"Huh... The third point would be blocked by the sun, and all of the last three points would be very far away... But the first two points would allow more ships to be used, and as long as it was still outside of our radar's range, would probably be the best place to start, right?"

Kongou nodded, a slight smile forming.
"That makes sense. That narrows down the location of the ships considerably. And-"

Kongou updated the 3-D map, as more lasers struck.
"Fewer lasers made contact this time."

"What?" Tadayoshi asked, confused. "Er... How?"

"I don't know..." Kongou stated, just as confused. "I detected a burst of energy coming from nearby the assault bomber not too long ago."

Kongou contacted Eleutherius, opening a direct link to the bomber.
"Eleutherius, Kirby. This is Kongou. We detected a spike in energy from your ship not too long ago, and now it seems that the ships firing on us have lessened in number. Did you two do something to cause this?"

2nd Lagrangian Point
Kirby would find himself very far from Earth by the time he made contact with the ships firing at Kongou. About 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth, in fact.

Being five light-seconds away from Earth, Kirby would find the area almost entirely empty. However, He would be able to see three of the Seehunds, making minute adjustments, firing twin lasers, and then shifting position slightly.

Kirby would find that the ships were relatively easy to maneuver around, as their only notable armament were the large laser cannons attached to the sides of their hulls. The lead ship of the three in the area broke off, attempting to engage Kirby, while the other two continued with their previous actions.

While the ship was very maneuverable in space, it couldn't match Kirby's maneuverability or speed, and its lack of smaller armament, anti-aircraft, or CIWS platforms made it so that hitting Kirby was near impossible for the Seehund. However, despite the lack of a Klein field, the submarine was able to survive for a short time, before it was overwhelmed by Kirby's attacks. The other two submarines turned away from their firing solution, one charging straight at Kirby, the other attempting to flank him to his left.

The Seehund directly ahead of Kirby fired its lasers, sending two massive beams of energy capable of leveling an entire city cutting through the vacuum of space.

U-2501, Location Unknown
On the bridge, Zordan Starke watched the battle unfold across several screens, smiling.

Everything was going according to plan.

However, this was actually kind of boring to the man; He expected more of a fight from Kongou and Maya, especially with humans on board. But separating the two ships was too easy, and it seemed that his estimations of the extend of their radar's range was on poi-

"Zordan, we've lost contact with one of the Extra-Orbital Seehunds." Francette stated.

Zordan's expression turned sour.
"Confirm? Why was it lost?"

"Destroyed. The other two Seehunds in Area Two are engaging the threat."

A rather blurry picture of some kind of pink blob on a yellow platform appeared on one of the observation screens. Zordan looked at the picture with a very skeptical and confused expression.

"This is a photograph of the threat?" he asked.
"Yes."

There were no rifts detected near Area Two, so whatever this thing is, had to move the entire distance from Earth to Area Two... Does this mean Kongou knows the location of the Seehunds firing on her, after all? the man thought to himself, suddenly becoming more interested in the battle. This thing is also powerful enough to destroy a Fog Seehund quickly, so it's a notable threat...

Zordan's brow furrowed with focus.
"Tell Milchkuh U-490 to use its nanomaterials to assume the appearance and basic armament of U-2501, and to intercept this... pink blob... and destroy it."

Greßand
As Wilfre and Advrick approached the gates to the city, two guards approached them, with cautious expressions.

"Hark, travelers. For entry into the capital city, thou must provide papers of identification and citizenship, or a grant of visitation."

The other guard looked over Advrick with a neutral expression, which shifted into confusion and distrust when he saw Wilfre. The first guard approached Advrick, expectantly.
"Thou doth have thine registry, correct?"

Yamato-Hiei Private JTN Link
Yamato looked at the various screens with a soft smile; an expression that seemed ever present.

"I have something for you to do. But first, I suppose I should catch you up on what your sister, Kongou, has been doing."

She paused for a moment, and the scenery around the two would grow darker, as a huge rift formed in the sky above them.
"Not long ago, I detected a spacial anomaly. Some form of rift between universes, as it turned out. Kongou also detected it, and decided to look at it... It collapsed before she got to its location, but she did find something else. Or, someone."

Yamato generated a model of Tadayoshi, standing in the field, like a toy soldier at attention.
"She found this man, 'Tadayoshi,' who had been taken through the rift into our world. Once Kongou made it to Japan, she found another rift. I assigned Maya to accompany her, and sent the two through the rift to gather data on the multiverse, and this man's existence. I must say, Kongou has done a remarkable job so far."

Slowly, models of Eleutherius, Eldrad, Kirby, Fay, Miyu, General Pepper, Altair, Wilfre, and Advrick appeared next to the one of Tadayoshi. Yamato turned to look at the group of figures.
"She's met quite a lot of interesting people, in such a short amount of time." she smiled.

Yamato turned back to Hiei.
"Currently, Kongou has taken to stopping the short one, named Wilfre, from gaining the power needed to challenge higher-dimensional beings. If he does this, that could pose a threat to this world, and to the Fleet, so I have decided to allow Kongou to take that mission."

She formed a tiny model of the Earth, with little models of Kongou, Maya, U-3008, and a number of Seehunds, in orbit around it.
"At this moment, she is engaged in battle against members of the Scarlet Fleet... Their motives at this moment are of no concern to you, and I have faith in Kongou's abilities. So currently, there is no need for concern with the situation. However..."

All of the models of those traveling with Kongou, the rift, and the model of the Earth disappeared, leaving just the calm field. However, the breeze stopped, leaving dead air.

"That surely won't be the case later. An alien race of anthropomorphic canines that Kongou had come into contact with, called the Cornerians, have figured out how to track not only our Fleet, but this version of Earth, through the quantum communications in the Joint Tactical Network, and have sent some form of exploration vessel. They have landed in the Kuril Islands, just off of mainland Japan..."

The breeze picked back up, and Yamato generated a small model of the ship; It was a rather unassuming vessel, looking mostly like a plain grey brick with a short bridge near the back.

"This could either grant us great power, or spell disaster for our fleet. You are to board this vessel, and establish communications between them and me. Dissuade them from contacting the humans for as long as possible. They have figured out how to transport massive warships through universes, using systems far more efficient that those found in Kongou's Flagship Equipment. In addition, what I have been able to gather from their ship indicates that their weapons technology is on par or possibly superior to our own. We can not afford to let them establish ties with the humans."

Sapporo, Japan
Osakabe Makoto, a rather sharply-dressed effeminate male, sat in his office. Running Hokkaido, Japan in these times would be very difficult for any normal human, but for someone designed for the task, it wasn't as much of a burden.

Lately, this had changed. Makoto wasn't entirely sure of Japan's future regarding the Fog, or humanity's, for that matter. And now, just as the Fog had begun changing, reports of strange rifts came in, all escalating to the single piece of paper in front of him now.

A report detailing a 700 meter long ship from space, hovering two kilometers South of Simushir Island. No contact had been established, despite attempts at radio communication.

Makoto looked up from the paper, at the man who had brought the report.
"Interesting. Send a small task force by helicopter, to make contact with that vessel."

The man nodded, not without a look of worry, before leaving Makoto to his thoughts.
They are in Russian territory, but they aren't who I'm concerned about... The Russians haven't been able to keep the Kurils under their control since the Fog began their blockade, especially due to their use of resources in the war in mainland Europe... Would the Fog try to make contact? If so, would they be willing to attack the dispatch? I suppose it's best to at least attempt contact, despite any risk. If this ship has the means for interstellar travel, even studying the ship from afar could be beneficial..."

"Oh, my name is Nishio Teru." Teru stated, giving a short bow.

When Elizabeth handed him the map, he took it happily.
"Oh, thank..."

The woman seemed to be glancing over at something flying around Teru's head. He glanced around, unwittingly staring directly at the ghost trilobite, but he couldn't see anything.
"...you...?"

He cleared his throat, when the woman asked why he was in the area. He hadn't thought about this, and mentally kicked himself for the oversight. He answered, his tone unsure.
"Um... Tourism? I decided to visit, but I think I took the wrong exit..."

[i]Seems believable... Teru thought to himself. Plus, this is the UK, so my car shouldn't stand out too much, since they also drive on the left side here... But my delivery wasn't good. I need to work on that...

Talog Park
Agent A was left to his thoughts for only a moment, as he absorbed the information the strange man had given him. It seemed that Agent A was dealing with much more than he had anticipated.

However, he wouldn't be able to think too much on this, as the person the cult had sent to meet him had arrived.
"Ah, yes." the man nodded, with a smile. "I have the items she requested right here."

Agent A held out the bag in front of him, handing it to the woman.
"I assume I should return to my previous mission of trying to make contact with Elizabeth?" he asked, for clarification.

Secrets of the Raven

Town Hall

"Aes you really doing this now? In front of people?" Elizabeth asked the Kents as they began to dramatically proclaim that they were going to stop the thief, her question naturally going from one ear and flying out the other as the family ignored her. "Just let the cops deal with please? The last thing I need is to be seen in some Youtube video." Sadly her request was ignored as Simon chased the thief and tackled him to the group. Looking in the room Elizabeth saw a few people recording the incident with their phones.

"Oh for fuck sakes." she placed her palm on her face as she spoke her head. Both Jackie and Kyle had nothing to say about the Kent's antics and chose to walk back slightly as to distant themselves from the group, in attempt to prevent people from associating them with the small group of oddballs they were with.

Elizabeth looked back to Teru as Angel handcuffed the thief and began to give Simon a stern lecture about interfering with police matters. Elizabeth could tell that something was up with him as the delivery of his line felt off but decided not to say anything on it now as the other members of the team introduced themselves to him. "Well you are lucky to meet me Teru because I'm feeling generous today. I can give a tour through the town if your willing to pay a small fee." She said to him, a wide smile on her face. She walked up to him and placed her arm around his shoulder.

"Let's get out of here, there isn't much to do in here." She lead Teru and the group out as Angel was still talking with Simon. Once they were outside Elizabeth let go of Teru and walked around him to face him, her hands behind her and clasped together. "So Teru, you're from Japan right? Tell me are you from this Japan or from another?" Just as Teru was giving her a look of surprise or confusion she said. "You're not the first person from another world to appear."

She began to tell him everything that was going on in the town. "If you think I'm crazy I'm willing to provide evidence to me story. Infact one such evidence I'm thinking of going to because I'm going to a church that desperately wants to be a cathedral to look for somewhere who is hopefully in there." She explained, still looking up at times to see the trilobites flying/swimming around him. "Are they going to keep following him? If so that is going to be very distracting."

Talog Park

"You're correct. The mistress wants you to get in contact with her in anyway you see fit." The woman said as she looked into some of the items in the bag. "I'm surprised she kept this many items unsecured in her room. Some of these are very useful items."

The woman took out a stone with two nails on it, one nail embedded deep to the rock and another sticking to the other. "I think this can be useful to your mission." She gave A the stone and soon gave him an envelope containing money within it. "Consider these rewards for your service. There will be more if you continue to serve us well."

The woman got up and began to walk away from Agent A. Should he feel curious about the nails he would find that when he pulls the one nail away from the other the one stuck on the rock will follow it.

Atem saw the attack coming, there were multiple things he could do. Negate the attack by summoning kuriboh, or go for the attack by summoning the dark magician. After thinking about it for a split second the best choice would be the dark magician. “BIG SHIELD GARDNA! WINGED DRAGON: GUARDIAN OF THE FORTRESS! I RETURN YOU BACK TO THE SHADOWS AND BRING FORTH THE DARK MAGICIAN!” As the pharaoh decreed that big shield gardna and winged dragon both dispersed into wisps of shadows, that began to swirl around one another until a tall figure, around 5’9” in dark purple robes and a dark purple pointed hat appeared. The figure also has long purple hair that reached to its shoulders. Other than that it was undoubtedly male. He had a teal staff that had ancient tunes etched on it. However it was too late for the figure to stop the attack on Atem, as it hit the pharaoh square on in the chest. The melinium puzzle took the brunt of the attack, and it flowed a bright gold that seemed to make every shadow rise up and feel alive, but he was still sent back a few feet. “GAH!” Atem yelled in pain. But he wasn’t out yet. He then commanded the dark magician this. “Dark magician! Blast that yellow thing that is holding the two spoons!”

The dark magician grunted in the affirmative and raised his staff, pointing it at alakazam a beam of light zipped out of the staff, if it hit them they would be hit with explosions that could level a street, even if it missed the damage would be very noticeable. After the dark magician fired the attack the shadows settled down, but it could still be felt that it was staring at the pokemon.

Drawn Through the Multiverse

Dren and his wolf suddenly slammed into the metal floor of the bomber. Quickly rising the Space Wolf stood up reading his bolter he noted the tiny space. Switching to vox he tried calling. “Brothers are you there?” He called out scanning the admittedly cramped space. Slowly walking over to what seemed to be a door he glanced at the control panel and slammed it and with luck it opened. Raising his bolter he bursted into the cabin and was about to fire until he saw the bleeding heart of the Lamenters. “Brother?” He said to the other Space Marine.

Madison, Link, Po, & Amaterasu - Rise of the Masked Man

Madison
Elm's Lab

Muffet looked at Madison, then back down at her wand, then back up at the girl.
"Yeah, here's a question. Why are you pointing your magic stick at me?" she asked, her expression hardening a bit. "I'd much prefer if you didn't do that."
Madi immediately shot back "It's not a "magic stick"; she made air quotes when she said 'Magic stick'. "It's a wand." before sighing and putting her wand back into her never ending knapsack.
The rest of the ride to this New Bark Town was mostly uneventful. It took almost a day and Madi just so happened to fall asleep again, but was awakened by Muffet when the bus arrived at their destination.

When Madi made her way down the steps and onto the sidewalk - not before thanking the driver for their service, as she usually did - and then looked around.
"...Looks like that's the place that we need to go to. Alright. Finally, some place that isn't a courtroom...."
Muffet led Madi and Avarice into the lab, and right away, they were greeted by what seemed to be a talking, walking palm tree.
The sudowoodo (as Madi later learned that this was what this creature's species was) smiled in a friendly manner, and happily spoke some kind of gibberish in a high-pitched tone.
"Hah! Muram sudo, nesturmey!"
Madi blinked. For once, she couldn't understand what this creature was saying. Perhaps it was saying hello?
Yeah, had to be. Although....Maybe there was a way....Madi replayed the creature's greeting in her head and eventually came up with "Hi! my name is Sudo! Nice to meet you!"
"Hi. Your name is Sudo?" It's nice to meet you as well."
A second later, a man wearing a lab coat walked up to the group. introduced himself as Professor Elm, deeming that this was the correct place, and Muffet introduced Madi and Avarice, and then explained that the three of them were looking for Gold.
That got everyone's attention, and a man in a trench coat walked up to them and started talking about this 'Team Rocket', whoever they were.
Madi had stayed silent for this entire exchange but then spoke up when 'Looker' said
"Team Rocket, even in its fractured state, has been causing trouble around the world for decades.
".....Okay, that's really bad."
madi glanced at the other two woman before speaking again.
"What do you want us to do?"

Link; Ammy & Issun
Inside the Hideout

The strange creatures split up, two of them going after Link and Percy, the other two going after Ammy and Issun. Link merely froze the small creatures and walked up to them, drew his sword, and hit the creatures with it. He had no idea what was going to happen after this, but, hey, it was worth a shot, right?

Ammy was dodging balls of electricity and using Power Slash on the creatures when she could.
"Yeah! Get 'em, Ammy!"
But then two balls of ice came from nowhere and froze the creatures. Ammy turned around and saw that Link had froze them with his strange weapon.
The battle seemed to be done for now, so Ammy crossed the room and stared at the strange device and then cocked her head to teh right, confused.
"Hey, kid, what's that freezing thing? Can it....freeze everything?"
Link looked around and then down at Ammy, then back to his weapon.
"You mean the Ice Rod? I....I suppose it could freeze everything....Not going to try it though."
Issun nodded. "Right. I guess this...Ice Rod...Could be dangerous if it got into the wrong hands....You seem to be pretty responsible with it though."
The Poncle then thought it would be a good idea to tell this kid and the cat as to who Ammy really was.
"Ammy's not just a regular wolf, you know, she's actually the Great Goddess Amaterasu!"
Issun faltered when he noticed the boy give him a blank stare.
"Who?"
"Ah......You.....Have no idea who she is, do you....Alright....Just know that she's a powerful Goddess in a wolf's body."
Link nodded and turned to Percy.
"Should we go help Pi? I could just freeze the creature that's attacking him."
Issun bounced up and down on Ammy's head.
"I'm up for it, but you use that Ice Rod way too much!"
Link had already fired a ice ball towards the creature attacking Pi but turned back to face Ammy and Issun.
"....Yes, yes I do."

Po
Outside the Hideout

Po still wan't fighting anyone. But yet, he decided that it was or never.
The giant panda made his way over to the strange yellow creature that was teleporting everywhere and began to talk to it.
"Hi, my name's Po, I'm the Dragon Warrior, who are you?"
The creature sent him flying and he ended up flying into some doors and landing on some floor.
It took a while for Po to get up and once he saw the damage he had done, he spent the next several minutes trying to fix the doors.
Eventually, Po set the doors against the wall and then turned around to find himself looking at someone.
Someone wearing some sort of mask.
"Uuuuhhhhh......Hi?"

Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn,
Dread Martyrs Flagship, Imperator Nox
450.M41
The Shape of Nightmares to Come

Thaddeus Lorn stood on the bridge of his flagship as the void slowly melted into the maddening glare of immaterium. "Helmsman, take us in." He said as the Battle Barge, Imperator Nox, flung itself into the infernal tides. "Gellar field is holding, my lord. We have received word that the last of the fleet has entered as well. With any luck, we'll make it to the next recruiting world in several hours and not several centuries." Daniel Orlock, Captian of the 1st Company, said, looking over the myriad of panels and sensors that monitored all activities in the ship. "Good, those damnedable Orks killed more of our brothers than I hoped." Lorn replied, glaring out at the roiling crimson that buffered the Geller fields. He had no illusions about how much peril rested in warp travel as he left the bridge. "Keep me informed, Captain, I shall be in my private chambers if you need me." He knew that the Gellar field was not completely impervious and that more powerful warp entities could slip through, provided they had a mind to prey upon and a body to manifest in.

He moved by the cathedral within the heart of the vessel, stopping for a moment to listen to the chaplains deliver their fiery oratories and chastising those found wanting. Lorn continued to move towards his private quarters as as low, but troubling tremor shook the massive vessel. "Captain Orlock, what was that?" He said, calling the bridge through is vox caster as another tremor rippled through the hull, straining the bulkheads of the ancient vessels and almost knocking the chapter master to the floor. "Chapter Master, the tides of the warp seem to be shifting. The Astropath thinks it might be a warpstorm, though he isn't confident on that." "Change course towards the nearest Imperial port, I don't want to suffer anymore losses this day." Lorn didn't want to take any chances, especially with his chapter depleted from wresting control of the Haskur clustor from a tribe of particularly ruthless Goffs.

Lorn worked his way back to the bridge, passing several menials and chapter serfs, they bowed in reverence to the Astartes as he passed, but he caught a bit of their conversation that caused him to pause. "Serfs, stop where you are." He growled, planting his boots before turning to face the terrified humans. Before he had a chance to reproach the serf for his impudence, the ship shuddered violently as klaxons blared and the controlled chaos of action stations enveloped the ship. Lorn moved quickly back to the bridge, scattering serfs, voidsmen, and armsmen as another shudder brought the Astartes to his knees. "Orlock, what is going on?" Lorn yelled, hauling himself up and continuing with a sense of urgency. "Chapter Master, the Gellar Field is under duress and the warp is becoming more tumultuous with each passing moment. Its turning against us, we need to make a breach back into reality." Lorn felt the color run away from his face as the dangers involved ran through his mind. "Do it. Inform the fleet and make all necessary prep-" The sound of twisting metal and agonizing screams filled the air, drowning out the chapter master as a massive jolt shook the ship violently.

He felt the malignant presence of the warp run through the ship and grimaced as he saw three of the menials he was about to chastise convulse and shake violently as they began mutating. Their screams turned into unholy howls as mutations overtook what humanity they had. "The Gellar field..." Lorn said, pulling his bolt pistol and firing on the chaos spawn. Two exploded in a cloud of red mist as the third attempted to overpower the Chapter Master but received a well placed blow with his power fist as it's head crumpled into its deformed chest cavity. Lorn regarded the corpses with a mixture of pity and disgust as he continued moving towards the bridge. When he arrived, he was greeted with gore and viscera staining the command console as strange warp fire engulfed the remainder of the bridge crew. At the center, stood a large daemonic entity still feasting on the remains of the bridge crew and Astartes.

Thaddeus Lorn watched the creature gorge itself on the viscera as he tried to place it. It looked like a Tyranid, but its coloration did not match any known hive fleet nor did it match any known bioforms, further more, it appeared as if it were a manifestation of the warp. "Whatever it is, it will die." Lorn said, raising his bolt pistol and firing into the back of the creature. It let out an inhuman scream as the .75 caliber round impacted and detonated against it's carapace before it turned as another round impacted against its face. Much to his dismay, though to no shock at all, the bolter rounds simply seemed to annoy it without causing any major injury. It roared in anger as it dropped some poor crew member's arm back into the pile and charged the Astartes. Lorn continued to fire up until the creature made impact with a powerful blow from his powerfist. He heard the sound of carapace cracking as he pushed the creature several feet across the deck, black ichor dripping from the fractured chest plate.

"So you bleed like anything else, creature. Good, that means you can die." Lorn said, vitriol and anger evident in his voice as he took his turn to charge the insectoid monstrosity. The two battled for what seemed like forever, Lorn smashing and burning the monster with his power fist and melta gun and the creature slashing and clawing at Lorn, trying to find a weak spot in the Astartes ceremite and adamantium armor, though it rended deep gouged in his armor. Eventually, the creature found the chink as its talons racked across the back of his leg as it slashed Lorn's face. Lorn cried out pain as he fell to one knee and gripped his face, blood blinding his vision as he lost vision in his left eye. Taking advantage of the opportunity presented, the creature tackled Lorn and pinned him to the wall of the bridge. But before it could finish him, another tremor knocked the two off balance, and Lorn, despite his injuries, launched himself at the creature, delivering one final blow to its head and knocking it off with a rather off putting pop.

The body of the creature bled profusely as it crumpled to the ground, gurgling as whatever air inside it left its body. Lorn stood above the corpse, watching it dissolve as the Imperator Nox reentered reality. Lorn found his body slowly erupting in pain as the Adrenalin left his system. However, he did not have time to dwell on the pain. He needed to figure out where in real space he ended up, as well as where the rest of the Chapter ended up. Looking out at the void, Lorn could not identify any of the stars, and without a functioning sensorum array, he had no way of pin pointing his position. "Throne of Terra." He muttered, turning to the remains of the command console as he searched for anything that was still functioning. Thankfully for him, the distress beacon was still functioning. He debated the possible repercussions of setting it off, but ultimately, survival trumped personal pride. Pressing it, he spoke into the vox caster. "Attention, this is Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn of the Dread Martyrs. My flagship is crippled and I fear it is infested with chaos taint and unknown tyranid like organisms. I will attempt to secure the bridge of my vessel, however, I do not know how long I will be able to hold out." He put the vox caster down and set about sealing the bridge as feral screams echoed through the battered halls.

HQ of the Octobrists

“Arrest him! Arrest the bastard” “He is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people-“

“You can kill me if you want”, declared Venias confidently, raising a handful of the documents into the air, “but if you do, you won’t have an inside man familiar with the psyche of Nargami Shiki.”

“Who does this asshole think he is?!” Jurgis the Lithuanian screamed.

“Have him shot! Have him-“

“Enough”, said General Nergüi, raising his hand to silence the crowd. He turned his head silently, his blank eyes scanning the edges of the room, and looked back at Anatoly, who was leaning against the podium and daydreaming amidst the screaming while peeling his fingernails. “Chairman Laurentis Venias may not be a reliable friend, nor will there be any guarantee that he will continue to work with us in future...”

“I am not an Octobrist, but I will work with you to the end of removing Nargami Shiki from power”, said Venias.

“... but his knowledge of the inside workings of the Human Union are an indispensable asset to our cause, and as such, I elect to-“

The crowd fell into silence, as at that very moment, Deputy General Wilhelm Xander Felgrand withdrew his own pistol and, pointing it straight at Nergüi, firing a bullet into the General’s chest. “We’re staging a coup here”, he unabashedly declared. “I had reservations about letting Anatoly take over, but to work with a former CNR Chairman? This is madness.”

As Nergüi teetered about, clutching the bullet wound in a futile attempt to stymy the blood dribbling out into his uniform, the rest of the hall erupted into two factions: those who supported General Nergüi, and those who supported Felgrand. It wasn’t exactly clear who was on which side.

“Wilhelm, you’ve gone mad!” Tadesse roared, before himself drawing a pistol and firing at Felgrand, who expertly dodged the bullets and backflipped onto the stage. At the same time, the last of the commanders, Ilia Merabishvili, a squarish man with a garden brush moustache, drew his cutlass and, without so much as a single word uttered, made straight for Felgrand.

The chief strategist, in turn, drew his own blade and engaged Merabishvili, only to be blasted in the back by an explosion of magic energy. Two, actually; one came from the dying General Nergüi’s wand, but a second burst of energy had come from, of all people, Laurentis Venias.

“Anatoly, come here.”

“Oi, old geezer, what’s going on?” Anatoly, who had been fearfully hiding under the podium, quietly snuck out to the side of the dying General Nergüi, even as the battle raged on alongside them. Behind him, Felgrand, with his back raw and exposed, screamed in a horrific mix of fury and agony, as he viciously fought back Merabishvili who, it seemed, was a far inferior swordsman. “This wasn’t supposed to-“

“I’m afraid I did not foresee this treachery”, the general said weakly. “The Octobrists as they exist now will end. It’s up to you to create the Second Octobrist movement...”

“I didn’t sign up for this”, Anatoly lamented, almost on the verge of tears, as the fighting raged on and the walls and roofs were blasted full of holes. “I didn’t sign up for any of this shit...”

Behind, Felgrand had forced Merabishvili off the stage, and in one fell swoop, severed the hands of his former colleague, before proceeding to hack him to pieces without a shred of mercy or restraint.

“With my last remaining life force”, said Nergüi, raising his wand and pointing it at the trembling Anatoly, “I shall perform the most arcane and potent of spells: the creation of a gateway to another world.”

“General...” Having cut Merabishvili up into satisfactorily small pieces, Felgrand turned his sights back to Anatoly and his fallen boss.

“Go!” Nergüi boomed, as light began to emanate from his wand, much to Anatoly’s fear and confusion. “Scour the farthest corners of existence. Do not return until you have gathered ten steadfast heroes. With these men, you, Anatoly Iraklievich Nozadze, shall resurrect my revolution and bring peace to this realm! Ymhrū Nihāyu!”

And with that, the last of General Tömörbaatargiin Nergüi’s life force was expired, and the general breathed his last, having wandered the earth for ninety eight years and eighty six days.

And then there was nothing.

...

Yes, Chancellor Shiki speaking... no, fuck you, there’s no way Laurentis Venias isn’t in the old CNR Headquarters. That’s his pigsty. You bastards are going to search harder for him, or I’ll have you paraded round the streets with your dicks painted purple.

Listen to me.

No. No. No.

This is a matter of goddamn national security. As of now, only Venias remains of the former inner circle. Everybody else has been neutered and unpersoned, but if Venias regained control of his secret services... If he’s able to spread his lies, we’re all going to be up to our necks in our own shit. So you better find the pig, and serve me his head on a platter. The HNAU is supposed to be the ultimate intelligence unit, yes? The culmination of the CNR and the Grand Synod, yes? So prove it, you goddamn flake, or I’ll shit magma on your nose so it runs down your chin and into your throat.
Ymhrū Nihāyu.

...

The space between spaces

When Anatoly awoke, he found himself hurtling through empty space, however that was possible. A destination Realm was visible in the distance, but closer to him were several other people.

There was Jugemu Itō, the boy whom he’d met at the airfield, clad in a white kimono; Tadesse Haile Alemayehu, the tall, one-armed man, who was carrying, instead of his katana, a massive Viking sword of sorts; and Rerir Seider, the kindly old man who had been manning the healing station, armed only with a long staff.

And Laurentis Venias, former Chairman of the Human Union’s CNR secret police apparatus.

“Will someone explain to me what the flying fuck is happening here?!” Anatoly screamed, clearly exasperated beyond any possible description, almost to the point of tears. “Why the fuck have I been thrown into all this shit?! Why the fuck do I even goddamn care anymore?! I never asked for any of this...”

“Anatoly...” Tadesse’s voice trailed off into the dark oblivion, as the destination came closer and closer.

“Fuck the Messiahs and this whole bloody charade!” Anatoly roared. He would have kicked something, but at the moment, there was nothing he could do, realistically speaking, to go anywhere or do anything. “Fuck the Realm of Imru! Fuck all of you!!!”

“If it makes you feel any better, young man”, came the deep, raspy voice of Laurentis Venias, “I can confirm that none of the upper leadership in the Human Union actually believes in the Tenth Messiah prophecy.”

Anatoly suddenly became quiet in shock.

“... what did you say?”

Venias smiled wickedly, keeping his wand back inside his ominous black coat.

“Perhaps none of you have realised”, he said, “but the whole religion is a propaganda tool. A mere pillar holding up the castle of national unity in the Union. The masses may believe in all that, but those at the top know it’s bullshit. It’s just an excuse for us to carry on with our wars.”

“But...” Jugemu began, but could not find the right words to fit his contempt. “Why would you continue fighting, then? Is it not futile to wage these endless wars for nothing?”

“Is it not the duty of the government to look after its citizenry?” Venias, in quick response, asked Jugemu and the others rhetorically. “Is it not the duty of a leader to serve the interests of his people? Clearly, there are external and internal forces that seek to destroy humanity. We cannot simply go about asking naïvely for peace when there are those outside who will not give it to us.

“Nay. There is but one option, and that is to fight until those who threaten our way of life are gone. Any treaty we attempt to forge with the enemy will only be temporary, as you should all know. How can peaceful coexistence be an option when over three thousand years, we have seen nineteen emperors and forty six chancellors attempt to pursue a pacifist foreign policy, only to fail when one of the enemy races changes leadership and invades us? No, you can’t trust anyone but yourself.”

Jugemu had no reply.

“In any case”, said Venias, “we may have utterly conflicting beliefs, but for the duration of whatever quest you children have been sent on now, you have my word that I will support you-“

“Why should we trust you, Venias-“

“Because I’m the only one who’s telling you!” The former secret police chief fiercely snapped back at Jugemu. “Do not trust anybody!”

“ASSHOLES, LISTEN!”

In shock, everybody turned to look at Anatoly, as the destination realm loomed closer and closer.

“Alright, here’s the deal”, said Anatoly, calm once again. “Since I’m stuck with you bastards now, I’ll help you fix your fucked up realm. Once we’re done, you give me your word that you’ll send me back to my world. And you’ll never disturb me again.”

“That’s... out of our control...” Rerir the healer protested.

“Promise me!” Anatoly screamed. “Promise me, you bastards, or I’ll cut my own throat!”

Silence.

“You have my word”, said Venias, with a sly glint in his pince nez.

With no other choice, Tadesse and Jugemu nodded.

And then the darkness dispelled. And then...

Sault St Marie
Jules's mouth gaped as the new arrivals arrived in Michigan.

She rubbed her temples. It seemed the Multiverse was just dumping them in this seemingly random location for no reason but to mess with her. Sighing, Jules introduced herself to the new people.

"Hi! I'm Julian Yamada, and you're in Sault St Marie, Michigan, USA. Look around if you like, the locals are really friendly. You could follow me, but I wouldn't reccomend it."

Moira - RotMM

Leumundslist's blade pierced the ground where the Alakazam once was, catching Moira completely off guard. W-what the?! How is it so fast?! The shocked huntress thought as she brought herself back into a ready position. She was used to fighting much larger creatures, but she had also fought her fair share of smaller ones. Not one of them displayed capabilities such as these before though. What was worse, the kinsect's extracts were still waning, and Moira figured she only had about 15 seconds left of it.

At least she did before being struck hard by a beam of psionic energy. The force knocked the wind right out of her, and sent her sprawling backward about 20 feet before striking the wall of a nearby building hard, and crumpling to the ground. A normal human would've surely been killed or at the very least permanently crippled by such a blow, but Moira was a monster hunter, and no ordinary human. She painfully got back up; her body aching and protesting her continued movement. It felt like she had broken a rib or 2... or 5... The point was she needed to heal.

Reaching into her hunter's pack, Moira extracted a vile of green liquid. She didn't want to have to use this, because her supply was now dangerously limited what with her not being in her own world, but she'd be no use to this fight in her current state. So she removed the cork from the vile, and downed its contents quickly. Potions didn't exactly have a pleasant flavor, tasting like a mixture of grass and copper, but they were very effective. A surge of warmth passed through Moira's body, and instantly many of her pains were gone. She could even feel her cracked ribs knitting themselves back together; a bizarre but quite welcome sensation to say the least.

Unfortunately she also felt another thing: the slight wave of lethargy that informed her that the extracts had just ran out. Magnificent... Moira thought with a grimace. This would be a bit harder now. She could fight without the extracts, but the Insect Glaive was made to be used in tandem with the essences produced by the kinsect, which she doubted she could collect from the Alakazam very easily. Well then, what can I do without extract then? Moira took note of the new robed figure summoned by the man with peculiar hair, and a smirk found itself on her face. The perfect distraction. She thought.

Moira began moving around the Alakazam, making sure to stay back about 15 feet, and stay low, hiding behind whatever objects she could. She took it slow and steady, stalking the pokemon much like the very Nargacuga her armor was forged from. The armor's innate elemental power honed Moira's senses, allowing her to exploit even the slightest opening. All she had to do was wait for it...

Wait... wait... Now!

While the Alakazam's attention was drawn on the robbed figure, Moira pounced at it from behind, slashing down the length of it's back with Leumundslist as dragon element belched from the blade in reddish-black clouds of energy.

Percy - RotMM

Again Percy barely dodged the electrical energy as his fur stood on end. "Can't catch a break can we, nya?!" He exclaimed. He now knew there was no getting out of this without a fight, and so he drew his spear and prepared for battle. The electrical energy of the weapon would no doubt be ineffective against the lightning-based pokemon, but it was still sharp nonetheless. Percy sprang into action, slashing the weapon across the Magnemite's eye, causing green electricity to spark from it.

Kirby - DttM

It was working! Kirby couldn't help but smile as he flew around the ships light a little pink lightning bolt, pelting each one with shot after shot. One of them even blew up, he didn't expect that to happen! Kirby noticed two more beams being fired at him, and with just inches to spare he managed to avoid being incinerated by the blasts. He had to be really careful, because there as no way he'd survive one of those! Kirby continued his attack with another strafing run against the ships, being sure to specifically target the weapons that he could see to destroy them.

Advrick - DttM

Advrick straightened his collar and adjusted his hat as the guards approached, a grin spread across his face. His smile didn't wane a bit after the guards spoke to them asking to see papers. "Ah yes, papers. Well, I must say that I and my companion do not have any papers on us, as we are but traveling entertainers that have never been to your fair city. Though I would so love to entertain your populous, and perhaps even your king? So may I suggest that you kind gentlemen let us through and bring us before your king?" Advrick said to the guard, once again calling upon his magic to twist the guard's mind to his will.

St Sault, MI

The realm the five had been cast into was completely alien to all, with the exception of Anatoly.

He, for one, found it oddly familiar, remembering the blue skies that hung above and the surprising lack of fragrance in the air that had so greatly pervaded all of Imru (which, while not at all unpleasant, was beginning to make him feel homesick). The other four, on the other hand, looked up into the sky, confused by the far less striking blue as compared to the saturated magenta firmament of Imru.

“The air...” Jugemu thoughtfully murmured to himself. “It feels so... empty...”

“This be a different realm from ours”, said Venias, adjusting the ominous black fedora on his head. “I expected as much.”

As they found their bearings, the five men were approached by a young-ish Asian lady, who introduced herself as Julian Yamada. Who exactly she was, none of them could say; for all they knew, she was probably just a random stranger who had happened to be at the location to which the five had been thrown by General Nergüi’s spell.

As for whether or not they could trust her...

“I am Anatoly Iraklievich Nozadze”, said Anatoly, nodding upwards at her, before squatting down and lighting a cigarette, his katana hanging incongruously from his side, a sharp contrast to his Adidas tracksuit and leather jacket.

“The Messiah, if I may add”, said Jugemu.

“Shut the hell up, Jugemu.”

“Pleasure to meet you”, said Venias in his usual slow, deep rasp, doffing his hat to the lady. “My name is Venias.”

“I’m Rerir Seider”, said the old healer with a smile.

Tadesse Haile Alemayehu didn’t introduce himself; he was too busy admiring the blue sky.

“And who might you be, Miss Yamada?” Anatoly drawled, blowing out a cloud of cigarette smoke.

Sault St Marie
"Um, well, hello, very nice to meet you all." Julian said in a kind voice as she did her best to give them a friendly smile and a wave. They all seemed to be nonthreatening, except for Jugemu, whose declaration unnerved her a little.

The Messiah? What is this guy, a cult member?

As Anatoly asked who she was, she pulled out a business card. "Julian Yamada, neurosurgeon and physician. Here's my info" She handed it to the slav, holding her breath to avoid his smoke.

Rise of the Masked man | Avarice

Why was Avarice trying so hard to be human? The reason she had for doing so wasn't unknown to her, having no subconscious mind to lock pertinent information away in. Why, the answer was very simple. Curiosity. For a being like Ava, whose world revolves around information - in her case, the consumption thereof - the natural endeavour they undertake is to get more of it. Sure, consuming flesh is all well and good, but it's only ever limited to physical data; the stuff inscribed upon each individual particle and within each quantum string. That kind of learning will never reveal the broader picture; the emotions, bodily structures and psychological patterns inherent in living beings That Audrey found so exquisite and wonderful. So, when her eyes opened, It came as a disappointment that she hadn't learned how to sleep. After all, she had no subconscious to ever wake her up, or to lend dreams to her budding mind.

Professor Elm's office was far more interesting. The myriad of people, Pokemon and machines within likely held what seemed to Ava to be an inexhaustible array of things to learn; a different way of ingesting the world's information. Madi, Muffet and Avarice. If she changed her name to something like Minty, their names might form a pattern. This is the sort of thing conceptovores notice when they're bored. She looked up at the rather tall palm-tree creature, grinning at It with only her face. Her mind was occupied, thinking of ways to fulfill her hunger now that killing was out of the question.

"Hey there, tallfella. You wouldn't happen to know where Gold is, would ya?"

Then came the professor, his confident stride informing years of experience and decades of research. This man obviously held all the cards right now: best to avoid antagonising him. Tjen again, 'global police' over here didn't seem too nice either. Neo Team Rocket eas shaping up to be a very delicious enemy.

"Well, if they're in danger, what are we standing around here for? Seems like we already know where the fighting is. Doctor, how long would It take to reach Gold, and what is the nation's legal stance on consuing inanimate objects? Because I could really go for a tree or two right about now."

Legends of the Last Romans | Tone

"Thank you, Aelia. You've already done a great deal to help me. I'll make myself as useful as I can on the trip, so that I'm not just dead weight to you."

Valerian smiled gently at Jeanne's more than flustered admission. Living in such circumstances must be hard, considering the flak she would get. Well, things would get better For her in a couple of millennia, right about when the Great Demographic War would erupt(?). He rolled his eyes at the other men. He couldn't blame them for their preconceptions. It was the first lesson he ever learned; that history doesn't judge, and neither should It be judged. He gave a well meaning chuckle and addressed the girl, hoping to lift her spirits. He wasn't trying to patronize her but nevertheless, He couldn't help but feel a little responsible for this meek and shy girl. After all, He had been the one to ask the embarrassing question.

Oh no, I'm no warrior. Just a traveller, or a pilgrim, if you wish. I'm sure your talents as a bodyguard far exceed my own, Jeanne. Be proud of what you are! Don't let the world burden you with stigmas and stereotypes.

Honestly, he didn't know whether that was good advice or not. Certainly, being too proud of her occupation would garner more than a little ridicule from her peers, but Valerian's inner egalitarian couldn't take no for an answer. Forcing his 21st century morals on some medieval society was more than a little presumptuous, but he rarely ever cared for the places he visited; not least because his beliefs usually clashed just a little with the natives'. He turned to speak to the more assertive of the two 'J's, presenting his hand for Jean to shake.

"Yes, Canada is quite far from here. As for tales of my homeland, it embarrasses me greatly to admit I have only a few. I had to leave in order to pursue my travels long ago, for a terrible plague consumed the land. I hope to return some day, if only to visit the ruins. But the few memories I still have are... beautiful."

Secrets of the Raven | Jacquelyn and Kyle

"Wh- aw, man, I feel really sick. Like I wasn't myself for a moment back there."
"What, like... two seconds ago?"
"Yeah! Yeah, but, I also feel like I should keep This brief. Hey, Liz, can we head out already? We've been standing around for ages now."
"(But we only just left the mayor's office. The frick are you on, Jack?)"

This is getting too meta and out of character. Onto the next one, I guess.

L-Fel Labs | Cassia

Falling. What a wonderful sensation! A number of the souls inside Cassius had died while/shortly after falling, but what was a little ingrained post-mortem phobia compared to the thrill of the empty dive, the whipping of the air past one's ears and above all; the impac- CRUNCH.

"Owwww... but on the other hand, WOW! That was incredible!"

Cassius looked up long enough to identify 32, no, 16, no... 8 individuals staring at him, apparently mid-conversation. He gave them a smug wave, standing up and brushing interdimensional dust off his pressed suit and neon-flecked body. His left arm still stunk of ozone and glowed with synthetic energy. The rest of his body was quite worse for wear, criss-crossed with cuts and clods of powdered stone. Of course, He could've spent a moment or two cleaning himself up - but time waits for no man! (or shapeshifting mental gestalt)

"So! You must have many questions, not least of which would be: who is this dashing man, where did he come from and why don't my parents love me? The answers to those are Cassius, an interplanetary political game-show and the looming spectre of death, not necessarily in that order. Now, mind telling me where this is and who you are? But not you, Julian, I already know you."

Sault St Marie
"...Have we met before?" Julian's patience was wearing a bit thin. What was with all of these multiversal travellers being dumped in Sault St Marie!? It was as if God was trying to tell her something, but she really needed to do this mission alone.

"Anyways! Again! Welcome to Sault St Marie Michigan. You can be free to look around. The locals are really nice. You can follow me if you want, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Goodbye and good day." She huffed at Cassius. "I really should go now"

Shuregan System
Line Sina
Outer perimeters

As Thaddeus Lorn’s message resounded through the void of space, a small group of Terran starships would be the first to take notice. In a routine patrol in the Shuregan System, the 281st Patrol Group, composed of a dozen Murakame Class Heavy Cruisers and a single Raijin Class Battleship, flew silently through the void; engines glowing with blue flame and baleful energies. The grey vessels were combat ready, yet it seemed there was nothing to report about. All there is to see was the silent void, the populated worlds below, and the other patrol fleets wandering the region. Captain Johannes Kepler of the Raijin Class Battleship Scharnhorst was already bored to death; he requested for the superiors to order his fleet to assist Line Okinawa, and yet his request was curtly refused; he must stay in his station, lest anything come in unnoticed. The fleet waited and waited, until...t

“Captain, a single warp out signature detected in point 918.281!”, of the bridge crew of the Scharnhorst called out as the Imperator Nox emerged from the multiversal walls. “This is something indeed.”, Kepler thought as more information came in. “The energy signature of the warped out ship does not match anything in the archives. In addition, a distress beacon has been sent from the unknown ship. Orders, captain?”

“All ships, prepare to jump into hyperspace. Coordinate warp out points to point 918.281. Make haste!”

“As you command!”

Soon enough, the 281st entered hyperspace, and the stars blurred as the fleet broke the laws of physics...

They came into the warp out point, and they found something that was utterly incomprehensible. Several Hive Ships surrounded the unknown starship, and it appeared they were assailing it with their disgusting abominations called constructs. Johannes knew what he must do.

“Send a message to the unknown ship that help is here. All Murakame class ships, assume diagonal formation around the Scharnhorst. Open all gunports, and fire!”

At his signal, the Murakame class ships opened fire. Blue beams of positronic energy sliced through the Hive Ships with almost perfect ease, killing them all in minutes. However, the Karuma was sunk as a Hive Ship grabbed it with its claws, tearing it in half just as a barrage from the Scharnhorst struck it down. As the shards of the Karuma floated lifelessly in space, the Scharnhorst came close to the Imperator Nox before boarding it with a platoon of Black Sorcerers and Terran soldiers clad in power armor.

“Search the ship.”, Kepler ordered. “We must find survivors.”

Laurentia Ultima

The Shadowlord began to reel as the combined attacks of Azrael and the ace pilot Descartes forced it back. Azrael’s scythe cut open cracks in its shield, while the Schattendrachen’s particle attacks blew off the Shadowlord’s armor. Finally, the Shadowlord crumpled to the ground, the red glow of its eyes gone out to the darkness.

After that, the evacuation would go on, and soon enough, the remainder of Laurentia Ultima’s population has been placed aboard the First Fleet’s transports. The losses were great.

“Out of the three billion inhabitants, only 17 million survived...”, Alexandra sighed as she was informed of the battle’s outcome while there in warp transit. “Azrael, Descartes, I am grateful for your help.”, she said to the two of them. “Now we must aid Line Okinawa. It is under attack, and it may not last long against the Hive Mind’s assault.”

And with that, the fleet warped out... to Okinawa.
Line Okinawa

“Line Okinawa is defended by multiple fleets drawn from the Terran Federation, Ensari League, Sarkuzian Heirarchy, Elyzian Stations, and Westorosian Unity.”, Captain Ivanovsky said to Admiral Rei through the comms line. ”Warp gates link each of the systems included in the Line, which makes it a trivial matter to reinforce one system or the other. It also has innumerable space stations and orbital defence systems in place, but against a foe like the Swarm, it would not last long against a full scale assault, especially with enemy Planetkillers emerging from the other side.”

Something then came in to the captain’s inbox. There was the message, which thus read:

“The First Fleet has arrived in Okinawa.”

The captain turned back to the communications. “Admiral, it seems that the mightiest fleet of the Terran Armada has come to Okinawa. Let us make haste so as to join them.”

Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn,
Imperator Nox,
Shape of Nightmare to Come

Lorn felt the ship shudder as another vessel, roughly the same size as the battle barge, pulled alongside the Imperator Nox and docked. He did not recognize the design of the starship, but with the way it destroyed the foul xenos abominations that were assailing the hull, he couldn't help but thank the Emperor for the reprieve. "Attention boarding party. This is Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn of the Dread Martyrs, I thank you for your timely aid in destroying the xenos vessels that were assailing my ship. Be warned, the remaining bridge sensorums are detecting multiple hostiles congregating in several areas of the ship. If there is any hope of salvaging this holy relic, we must act quickly before their taint corrupts the vessel's machine spirit as well. I barricaded myself in the bridge, make your way there with utmost haste, and if you see any of my brothers, bring them with you." He said, turning off the vox caster just as the sound of wrenching metal and animalistic screams drowned out any other noise.

Lorn turned to see more of the monstrosities squeezing themselves through holes torn in the bulkhead and door. They were smaller than the one he fought on the warp, but there seemed to be enough of them to try to overwhelm the Astartes chapter master. Lorn fired his bolt pistol, striking the creatures as they swarmed through the holes, splashing gore along the walls of the bridge as their shattered corpses began littering the floor. Soft thuds reverberated through the swarm as the .75 caliber bolt round exploded in the mass. Those that made it through were met with Lorn's Power Fist and boots as he began swinging at and stomping them, taking note at how easily they died in comparison to the much bigger forms he had fought earlier. He found them similar in appearance to Tyranid Gaunts and Rippers as the slowly pushed Lorn deeper into the ruined sections of the bridge.

There was nothing to control the deluge of teeth and claws that roared after him as he retreated, swatting down any that dared to jump at him and shooting the rest. Eventually, he heard the harsh click of an empty chamber as his pistol ran dry. "Emperor's fury, now of all times." He yelled, cursing his luck as he slammed one of the creatures into the wall, crushing its head between the steel and ceremite of his armored fist.

Secrets of the Raven
The Timewalker (Dawn Elissa)
Darkspace

Far outside the bounds of any galaxy, two figures flew with great speed towards some unseen goal. They seemed to stop randomly, and the two exchanged nods. One of the women extended her arms, then drew a shape in front of her. Everything around them seemed to bend and shimmer, and suddenly they were in a different place. It appeared to be a cave at the top of a great mountain, though there was no planet there moments before. The two women slowly walked into the cave together.

At the end of it, an old man stood facing away from them, staring at what appeared to be a map that stretched across all of the walls. The women lowered their heads silently and took a knee, then the man spoke. "It is most troubling, you were right to wake me." he said without looking away from the spot he focused on.

"The anomaly is a rift, father." said one of the two women, still kneeling in respect. "Its origins do not appear to be from this universe. It's like nothing I have seen before."

The old man ran a hand through his white beard. "A rift? From another universe? Hmm..." he trailed off, then turned to face his daughters. He motioned for them both to stand, and they did. "Has anything attempted to cross over from it?" he asked.

This time, the other redhead spoke. "No, nothing has approached it from our side, and nothing has exited from its side. I believe the energy it gives off is keeping everything from approaching. All of the life near it has fled."

The old man turned back to look at the map again. "It formed on the world you were visiting, Timewalker?" he asked. The woman nodded.

"Yes, the world of the humans. The one they call Earth. It was in a remote forest, away from any populated place. Just wildlife near it. Though nothing is near it now. The area is devoid of anything but vegetation."

The Lifebringer was silent for a while, then faced his two daughters again. "This is unwelcome news. I worry that this rift could cause great harm to our universe. Timewalker, it is my wish that you cross this rift to find out what its purpose is, and discover a way to close it forever."

The woman in question glanced towards her sister, then back at her father. "Me? But father, this is the realm of-" she started before the old man interrupted her.

"Your sister must remain here to keep the rift stable, and maintain any others that might appear. This job must be done and it must be done quickly, something that you know well." He walked towards the two, and the trio did not speak for a moment. "Go now, firstborn. The fate of the universe you created may rest upon your wings." She nodded, and the two women exited the cave before it disappeared completely, leaving them in the darkness of space again.

"I have faith in you, sister." said the Spacecrafter. "If there is anyone who can save us, it is you."

The Timewalker nodded. "Thank you." she said. "I will try to be quick. Keep an eye on father while I'm gone, do not allow him to worry himself too much about this."

"I will. Come, I will send you to Earth." the younger of the two assured. The Timewalker took a deep breath, and her appearance changed completely. Her wings and helmet disappeared, and she looked completely human. When she was done, the Spacecrafter put one hand on her shoulder, then cast her away towards the human planet.

Earth

Dawn arrived in the middle of a dense forest, though it was completely silent. There was none of the usual bustle of animal life that a forest of this type should have. The only sensation was the pulse of energy radiating from the open rift on one of the larger trees.

''I will study this, and by the time you are done with your mission I will be able to open a rift similar to it to bring you home." her sister said, though she was nowhere near, at least on this plane.

"I will see you again, dear sister, when the Time is right." said Dawn, before stepping through the portal.

A different universe

Dawn watched the bright light of the rift fade, and be replaced by a modern looking city. The woman looked around her, taking in the sight. She reached a hand out and looked up to the sky as if she was checking for rain, but she was really feeling the flow of Time around her. Earth, 21st century. she thought. Humans. Good, my appearance fits. She felt the timestream pushing back against her though, unwelcoming to the new presence in its midst. It will take some time until we are acclimated, but you will come to accept me as your master. Until then, Dawn could tell that her influence would be limited. She wondered if anyone had noticed the opening of the rift in their world, as she did her own.

Rise of the Masked Man

Courtroom

Phoenix saw Avarice and Muffet leave the courtroom as everyone in the room was getting ready to leave as well. As the lawyer was putting away his files he turn to look at his former opponent and saw the prosecutor giving him a heated glare, almost as though he wanted to kill Phoenix with just his eyes and mind. "Looks like a made a new rival in this world. I guess no matter where I am somethings remain the same." he thought as he put the last of his files into his briefcase and closed it, locking it to prevent everything from within on spilling out.

As Phoenix made his way out of the court building he took a deep breath and exhaled, smiling afterwards. The lawyer was glad that he manage to succeed in his most important and difficult case in this world, he had a feeling that after this trial he made a new for himself in this new world and that new clients will be pouring into his office. "Maybe I can get use to this new world after all." He said as he walk down the stairs and headed for a bus stop. As the vehicle arrived Phoenix checked on his watch. "I guess I can stop by for lunch before heading back home. As Phoenix enter the bus and it drove off the rest of Phoenix's day went by uneventfully.

Some time later Phoenix hitched a ride on a taxi and had the driver take him to New Bark City. As the yellow car got close to the town Phoenix saw the quaint, suburban, town becoming much clearer. When the car dropped him off the lawyer paid the driver and got off. Looking around the town square Phoenix began his search for the building where his next client resides in, if one wants to call the man he was suppose to meet his client.

Legends of the Last Romans; Aeternal Road
Jeanne "Tart" D'Arc

Aeternabilis wrote:One of the caravan guards laughed out loud when Jeanne said she was on bodyguard duty. "You, a bodyguard? Seriously? You're a tiny woman! Who in their right mind would pay to have you protect them?" "She doesn't even have a spear," Another guard chimed in, joining his friend in laughing. "Just that shortsword!" The two broke out into laughter again, before being yelled at by Aelia to get back to work.

Legokiller wrote:When the bodyguards started to bully Ritsuka’s new servant, she crossed her arms, not amused by this nonsense. A servant can easily outclass any normal human soldiers, and by Jean’s level she can. Ritsuka approached Jean and stood by her side. “Don’t let those guys bother you Jean. I can see a tough small girl who can protect me and the others just fine.”

The Intergalactic Russian Empire wrote:Jean politely bowed at the Valerian and Jeanne.

Menschenfleisch wrote:Valerian smiled gently at Jeanne's more than flustered admission.

Jeanne wanted to curl into a ball right then and there when the guards started harshly questioning her ability to do her job. While she could understand why they were being incredibly mean to her, that didn't dull the edge of the taunts by any significant amount. A tiny part of her even wanted the berate the two men for their rudeness, to show off the power that was given to her, but, in the end, all she could do was hold it in.

"It's okay," The girl spoke, voice soft as the others reassured her. "I understand." No, she wasn't gonna cry here. Instead, she turned her attention to new information like her Master's name! Fujimura Ritsuka of Japan! Foreign to be sure, but it sounded nice.

"This will sound fanciful, ser Jean, but it all started with a vision!" The moroseness from before all but disappeared from the girl's speech, to be replaced by earnest cheer and a fervor usually reserved for zealous priests. "An angel from God had told me take up arms for the Crown and restore the Dauphin to his throne!" There was something about how she spoke, and how she moved that said that whatever this madness may be, the girl believed it completely. "And with the Lord's grace, the English were kicked out and the Dauphin sat on the French throne!" She nodded to herself, beaming with pride at that announcement.

War of Flesh and Metal; Cairo, Egypt
Violet Evergarden

Aeternabilis wrote:As proof of this theory, the old-fashioned looking girl got nailed in the abdomen by one of the iceballs and was currently scuttling around, injured, in the floodwaters. Through the water, Trishna felt it all. She decided that the old-fashioned girl was too hurt to be a threat for the time being, so it was now time to give the same treatment to the rest of the freakshow.

The Intergalactic Russian Empire wrote:"Agh!

Much to Violet's relief, her allies tended to her wounds. What amazement she felt at such a quick recovery however, had to wait. There were much more pressing concerns at the moment, concerns like, 'How do they stop the hostile from murdering them all?'. Their opponent didn't play by the conventional rules of warfare, so Violet was vastly out of her depth here, but she was rather familiar with a common tactic employed by her superiors during the war.

If one gun wasn't working, then they simply needed more gun.

"An Artillery Barrage." Was her suggestion, quickly glancing at the Water clad hostile in the air. "We seem to be in need of more firepower. While this does risk some collateral damage, the enemy army is closing in on our retreat the longer we stay here."

New Antonalia wrote:Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn,
Imperator Nox,
Shape of Nightmare to Come

Raijin Class Battleship “Scharnhorst”
The Shape of the Nightmare to Come

“Acknowledged, Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn. This is Captain Johannes Kepler of the Terran Federation. We are currently analyzing the internal structure of the ship to ascertain the shortest way to your location. Worry not, Chapter Master Lorn. If we find any survivors along the way, we will take them with us. Hold out as long as you can before our forces get to you. Kepler out.”

The Terrans fought their way across the multi kilometer long hull of the Imperator Nox, and it was harder than they initially expected. Usually, it would take much less effort to dislodge a Swarm force infecting a starship, but since the ship is totally unknown to them, it took the nearby Scharnhorst a little while to scan the internal structure completely. The Black Sorcerers fired bolts of psionic lightning at whatever moved with an animalistic gait, frying them to dust in seconds as a several hundreds watts of electric energy pulsed through the air and burned the Swarm constructs with a vengeance. As they did so, some of the creatures would lob corrosive acid at the Terran boarders, only for their shots to be met by the in built energy shielding that protected the Terran warriors from a painful death by dissolvation. The soldiers clad in power armor led the way in front of the Sorcerers, shooting down the mutated Tyranids with well placed shots of concentrated lasers, as well as plasma fire from their pulse rifles.

As the Terrans cleared out the first one hundred meters, the Scharnhorst’s scanners have finished analyzing the internal structure of the Imperator Nox. As the data came in, Johannes noted the Gothic design of the Imperator Nox.

“Looks like a Gothic cathedral turned to a space ship.”, Johannes’ aide de camp beside him remarked. “Any lifesigns, Informations Officer?”

The response was quick and abrupt. “We are detecting a large amount of Swarm signatures in several sectors of the ship, but there are also human lifesigns detected in several other locations as well. However, it appears the human count is slowly dropping... they are fighting as well.”, she noted. “The bridge is located here,”, she said as a highlight appeared on the screen, showing the location of the ship’s bridge section. “A single human lifesign has been detected there, along with multiple signatures of that of the Swarm.”

“We must hurry.”, Johannes said as he stood up to issue another order. “Boarding teams, intensify efforts to clear the way in the direction highlighted in your HUD. Murakame class ships, deploy boarding teams near the locations of the human lifesigns. We can ill afford them to die before the Scharnhorst’s forces reach them.”

The Chapter Master would hear noises of metal clashing against metal as boarding teams entered into several sections of the ship, heading for the human lifesigns that were detected earlier. Multiple battles would erupt in different sections of the Imperator Nox as man and xeno fought one another. After a little while, one of the groups of survivors were found and were told rhat they will be brought to the one they call the Chapter Master. But then...

“Captain, three starships are emerging from hyperspace. It is the Ensari!”

“Good.”, Kepler said as two Ensari cruisers and a battlecruiser warped in the area. The Ensari would soon send a message: “This is the EFNS Battlecruiser Stardust, and I am Cleric Daral Zinar. We detected a distress call from this location, and it relieves us to see that someone has gotten here before us. Allow us to lend our aid, captain.”

The captain would give them the go signal, and the Ensari approached swiftly. The cruisers started to scan the Imperator Nox, and the Cleric was horrified. “What kind of psychic magick is this abomination that has permeated the ship?”, Daral said with his nose turned up. “This is chaos in pure form. Send in the Magi and the Ensaroids. Wipe out the Swarm from this vessel.”

And so, the aliens boarded the Imperator Nox as well, and began to purge the enemy with fiery zeal. Daral sent a message to the Scharnhorst. “Go to the survivors while we deal with the enemy hordes. Go!”

It was acknowledged, and a message would come to the Chapter Master:

“Ensari forces are purging the enemy in the lower and middle decks. We are headed to you, and we have some of your... brothers with us.”

Secrets of the Raven

The Ranger felt something was off with the nature trail he was walking through. He felt a stillness in the air and a feeling of trepidation that contrasted greatly with the peaceful and idyllic beauty that was present to him. More so he felt as though he was the only living soul in the path as he saw no other sign of life in the trail. The Ranger moved his jsbd slightly to his nail gun, the oppressive feeling in the air was starting to get to him.

As his mind was going back to the foul daemons and dark gods he faced in his past he heard a twig snapping behind him, he turned quickly and took out his gun to aim it at his would be attacker, yet he found nothing behind him. The Ranger was not at ease by his finding, he was still feeling in echoes after his encounter in the sewers.

The Ranger saw that on the ground was the broken stick that made the snapping sound but next to it was a black feather, a large black feather. He walked over and reach down to pick up the feather. He examined it and decided to take it with him, the woman in the black longboat might know what sort of creature the feather belongs too. As the Ranger kept walking through the trail he had a terrible feeling of being watched. As he looked around he found once more that nothing was with him, not even flies who should be attracted to the smell that was coming off him.

The Ranger heard the branches of the trees being rusted and as he turn to face it he saw only leaves and branches falling, with them more black feathers. The Ranger was now sure he wasn't alone and as he took out his gun he began to look around. "Come on out!" He screamed to his unknown watcher. He waited for what felt like hours but his mysterious stalker never revealed itself to him. Frustrated the Ranger continued on, keeping his gun put encase his stalker tried to ambush him.

The Ranger heard more branches being moved and even odd sounds yet no matter how hard he tries he never saw a glimpse of what was following him. As he approached a section that had a pond with a small stream that had a wooden bridge over it he saw someone wearing a white coat with shoulder cape standing on the bridge, their face was obscured by a mask and a white hood with a yellow rim. The Ranger felt a chill in the air as he got close the person. Once he was close he spoke to them. "Who are you?" The masked person said nothing as they looked him over. Ranger pulled up his gun. "I won't say it again. Who are you before I make you talk." He threaten. The figure merely pointed to the woods.

Choosing to humor the figure before he open fire on them he turn around, seeing a large black mass darting through the woods. Surprised by what he saw he paid no mind to the sudden gust of wind blowing, at least until he heard a voice within the wind telling him to leave the trail now before it was too late. Turning to face the masked figure he found that they were gone. Before he can think more on them he heard the branches falling and his legs reacted before his brain did, making the Ranger run through the rest of the nature trail. Once he was out he was sitting on a bench to relax, his mind returning back to what he had experience in the woods.

The next time he meets that stranger he will make them talk. Remembering the feather he took it out to get a good look and began to wonder what sort of creature it belong to and just how much if a threat it truly was. He decided to save that for later, right now he needs to leave this place. As the Ranger got up he began to walk through the park. In his current path he may run into Agent A unless his path was diverted or A leaves before he can encounter the Ranger.

Legends of the Last Romans; Aeternal Road

Aelia stared at Ritsuka and Valerian, trying to conceal the confusion on her face. Canada? Japan? She considered herself to be fairly well-learned, but she had never even heard of such lands. She wondered if they were kingdoms in the far East, perhaps nestled in India or Serica or hidden in the terra incognita between them. Another thought struck her; what if they had come from the other direction, from the far West? She shook that idea out of her head as quickly as it arrived. Surely nobody could possibly cross the Mare Tenebrosum. Aelia cleared her throat and addressed Valerian. "Please, where would one find this... 'Canada' on a map? I've never heard of such a place, at least not one that exists in Europe or the Levant. Is it in the far East?"

Meanwhile, the two guards (whose names were Quintus and Sextus) continued to stifle laughs at Jeanne's expense until they heard her explain her backstory. "A... a vision from God?" Quintus asked. "Visited by an angle... and granted great power..." Sextus said. They looked at each other for a moment, then abruptly knelt before Jeanne and started to grovel. "Please forgive us, My Lady!" Sextus cried. "We had no idea you were one of God's chosen warriors!" "It makes so much sense now!" Quintus said. "The Heavenly Father's power would allow anybody to become an incredible warrior, even a small woman." He realized that he had kind of insulted her again, and started groveling even more. "Forgive me, Your Holiness! A thousand apologies!"
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?

Chapter Master Thaddeus Lorn,
Imperator Nox,
Shape of Nightmare to Come

Thaddeus Lorn found himself almost at the end of the bridge as the creatures leaped and clawed at him. They were easy for him to kill, but there seemed to be an endless number to take their place. "Emperor Dammit!" He yelled, firing his melta gun into the corridor he had been pushed through. The creatures writhed as their chiton melted and their skin burned from the intense heat. Much to his disgust, like the tyranids, these creatures crawled over their burning kin, sometimes falling into the chared corpses and roasting alive themselves, just to get to him. "This is not good. I'm running out of room and ammunition, and yet, they fail to run out of fodder to throw at me." Lorn thought, weighing his options as he crushed one of the screaming monstrosities beneath his boot.

"Chapter Master." He heard his vox bead chime. "This is Sergeant Horatius, aid has arrived at our position and they almost to yours." Lorn felt relief at the news. "Good. Sergeant, how many men from your Terminator squad are alive?" "Only four, Brother Castillo was caught in the raw tides of the warp and we had to give him the Emperor's Mercy and Brother Marcus was ambushed by these horrid monstrosities on our way to the reliquary." Lorn grimaced at the thought of two more brothers to bury before responding. "Keep yourself safe, Sergeant, these creatures cost us more than the damned Orks, but we will reap our vengeance soon enough." Lorn said, before sealing a secondary blast door that would buy him a little more time. "Though I might not live to see it." He thought, grimly assessing his situation as he pondered his options before he heard the muffled thuds of gunfire outside the door.

Laurentia System
"I'm only glad that we managed to save people at all. 17 million is a number we can work with." Azrael sighed as she slumped against a wall, once they were beamed up into the ship. She shouldn't be tired, but she was. Fighting these things were nothing like the demons she had encountered so far, and she was surprised the Shadowhunter lasted more than a few minutes against her. Azrael realized how hard this was going to be.
