Secrets of the Raven | Jacquelyn and Kyle

Kyle was, to say the least, kind of panicking here. Not only was there a goddamn spider monster trying to kill them/spy on them, but Jacquelyn was messing up a roof and starting fires. It seemed as if he'd been relegated to damage control (Although the man who'd slipped off the roof had been helped up by another). He whipped off his coat, and ran toward the first fire, guttering in the heavy rain. He held it above his head, and tossed it over the fire, a momentary burst of steam preceding its total expungement.

"Goddamnit Jack! Wait up!"

He ran toward the next, easily traversing the tiles on the roof. His eyes took in everything, the looseness of each step, the fastest path to his reckless comrade. He saw her glowing brightly, growing stronger and faster. He stamped out another fire with a single step, and snapped his coat like a towel at a third pile of embers. He'd almost certainly have to find a new coat. His nerves were burning. With such an extensive sensory array, the soaking rain couldn't be doing him any favours. But his blood ran hot, and even from this distance, he could feel the heat running off Jackie.

"Stop! You're going to burn the damn place down!"

Jacquelyn meanwhile, was too busy chasing this monster to think about it. She could do whatever she wanted, she knew that. As one of the protagonists, nothing she did really mattered. A piddly little fire? Please. Captain goddamn America blew up buildings and knocked out police on a daily basis, and never got in any deep shit about it. Knowing one was in a story was kind of liberating, in the way that being in pain was relaxing for others. Everything is relative. So was her desire to kill this spy-monster thing, honestly; because she knew that if she didn't, Chekhov's gunman was going to fucking snipe her down the line of the narrative.

"Get back here, you little chitinous weasel!"

She saw the bleeding creature leap over a particularly large gap. She was losing it! Jacquelyn knelt on the tiles, and jumped; a pillar of Radiance propelling her through the air. Unfortunately, without Kyle's particularly sharp senses, she overcompensated for how far the monster was. Her flailing body sailed straight over the cryptid, and slammed into the awning of a neighbouring building, falling numerous metres to the cold stones below. She wouldn't be getting up from that any time soon. Kyle dropped into the alley with her just a few seconds later, having also lost the creature; and looked down at her with... Mild concern. She was a lot tougher than she looked.

"Oh Jesus, Jack. You alright?"
"Maybe. Just help me up, would ya?"

Respite | Julyan

A fireball went soaring through the sky, and the sight of a single approving nod struck through the damp and freezing air. Julyan planted his hands on the sigil. The first rule of Thaumatology: "The part affects the whole". Even with just a fragment of an object, one could modify the whole thing. And he'd been right to think that the wood strewn around the place would be sympathetic to this door. It glowed brightly, as a disintegrative force coursed through the aura, slamming into the heavy metal gate.

"Alright, take those two automatons down!"

Julyan drew his pistol, walking forward slowly, and firing shots at regular intervals. Seeing that the robots did not go down, he switched tactics. He sprinted toward them, and tried to sweep one's legs out from underneath it. He took an explosive from his pack, a short flat discus-like object; hurling it at the other, exploding in a bright flash of blue light, a focused blast of heat.

Secrets of the Raven

Greed looked up, opening his eyes. "Ah, no problem. And fine, I'll be nicer to the kid. She ain't nearly as hardy as the brats I had to deal with. And anything we can do to keep soul-using creeps like my old man out of the picture the better." He closed his eyes, and continued to attempt to sense the Earth's "chi".

If only Ling told him how to do it, he'd be in a much better starting position. For now, he had to resort to guessing. At the sound of a clatter, he was interrupted. "Great, who now?" He got to his feet, and walked to where the noises were, catching people running up the stairs. The hell was going on? He followed them up, and bumped into Trevor as he did. "Ah, excuse me. What's all the noise about?"

Inkopolis

<Ah, good to see you!> Agent X greeted. <This human seems to be extraterrestrial in nature. Her vehicle appeared to be a spaceship. I still have a transponder at the location.> She tossed a tablet at Sheldon. <The way she holds herself is clearly military, or at least paramilitary. She knows what the creature is, I assume, and has been tasked with hunting it. I can therefore assume the creature isn't native to here either. If it is, then it's a large threat to other planets as well as our own.>

Grand Adventure - Wakanda

The Kobold captain flinched at being discovered. "Damnit! Right off the bat too!" The other kobolds held their rifles and swords warily as the Captain mulled his options. Capture was not acceptable, but perhaps the natives were just curious. Either way, he was outnumbered, and could only rely on his comrades.

He hissed to his squad, "Prep smokesticks, hold fire." With a deft movement, he pulled out the Command Sending Stone, and whispered to it. "Broke Mask, if no reply in five mike, reinforce."

He put it back in his coat, and waved to the others. "Greetings friends! We are explorers from another plane. If we are intruding, we apologize greatly."

The Drinking Crow, Parking Lot

But they were just kids! Children! She immediately crossed out the idea of them being threats, but she couldn't just let two children walk around in the middle of night!

"Hello!" Skylar called out to them in a friendly manner. She put on a comforting smile as she walked towards them. Skylar was great with kids, so she didn't use any more of her abilities to alter their mood. That would be rude of her.

"I saw you two running round here, and I had to make sure you two wern't lost or anything!" Now Skylar had closed the distance between her and the two girls, but due to her height, she had to put her hands on her knees and sort of kneel down to be eye level with them. "It's dangerous out here! It's the middle of the night, you should be with your parents! Only a little while ago I had to stop someone from breaking into my car!" She explained softly, with both a comforting and a worried tone. "Please, get inside to your families before you get hurt, lost, or even worse! I can walk you back to your parents, if you want, but if you don't I'd understand completely. But please, seeing you wander around a dark parking lot is making me worried sick, I have a daughter myself, and I know if she was out here like you two, I'd be worried sick!"

Wow.

Sayaka knew that foreigners were rather tall, but this lady was something else entirely. She was pretty too, kind of reminded her of those model wives she sometimes saw on commercials, with a charming smile and nice blonde hair...

The girl shook her head quickly, before she got too lost staring into the lady's eyes. Focus! "Oh, uhm, thank you?" Right, wasn't this the person Elizabeth was talking to earlier? Before she drove off and everything? "We're not really lost, though" she began, attempting to hide her cutlass behind her back like she did a cookie, tip pointing skyward. So far, everyone had assumed it was just a prop instead of magic-made steel. "And Alice and I can take care of ourselves really well! Carnappers aren't going to scare me off!" She more than beamed at that declaration, smile confident. "The adults aren't home anyways and there was something weird going on here earlier, so we thought we should investigate a bit." Sayaka deflated at that, eyes gazing skyward to avoid eye contact. It wasn't a complete lie, but it still made her feel a bit guilty hiding the whole truth from the nice lady.

The girl, whose name she didn't know, but she knew her friend was Alice, was unable to make eye contact. Skylar was disappointed, she loved making eye contact with people! Oh well, it was understandable, she was a child meeting a stranger after all. She was slightly worried about "The adults not being home", but she decided not to comment. Some children simply were better behaved and were trusted to roam around, like her own daughter Hope. But these girls with their strange hair and highly fashionable outfits would be prime targets of anyone at wished them harm. Like the group of immigrants that attacked their family. And the short carjacker. This ''twas was really dangerous, now that she thought about it. When was going to have to keep a closer eye on Simon and Hope during their stay. At least more so than she normally would.

"I'm positive you two can take care of yourselves." Skylar smiled. "Especially with the formidable weapon you wield!" She reached around and tapped the cutlass, and quickly realized it was a real weapon. Sayaka would realize Skylar figured that out when here face shifted in surprise and said "Oh dear."

After she hummed to herself in a few moments as she tried to figure out what so say, she ultimately went with "All right, I think we should head back inside..." with a bit of uncertainty, before bouncing pack and saying "Let's take you back inside!" With much more enthusiasm. "There's clearly nothing around here, though I commend your bravery to investigate! Really, if you stay, you would just be aimlessly wandering around a dark parking lot. That sounds fun, and I honesty would stay with you", those last words were actually genuine, and not sarcastic. "But my family is sleeping in the hotel. I'd offer to take you back to my room but that would be VERYweird." She laughed.

Tales of Trebizond; Trebizond Church

Ann watched the girl, now revealed to be called 'Shut Hell', with an inquisitive expression. She smiled and bowed when Pobeda said the name, but Ann decided that she didn't look actually happy about it. Probably to do with the fact that Pobeda had apparently only found a nickname, and not her real name. Ann wasn't really sure what that meant, that Pobeda couldn't find something in someone's mind, but she decided it was a mystery for later. "Shut Hell, huh? That's a real interesting name." Ann went quiet for a second. She really wanted to make conversation, to learn more about her new friend, but Shut Hell's lack of speech was going to make that difficult. She could probably keep using Pobeda as a 'translator,' but she knew the Troll would not want to do that for much longer.

Ann decided the only solution was to get Shut Hell something to write with and something to write on. The Maid jumped into the air and hovered high enough that everyone in the room could see her, then said, "Hey, does anybody have a pen and paper or something? We need some stuff to write things down over here!"
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?

Secrets of the Raven

Red Orchid

As some members of the group were preoccupied with saving one member who was close to falling to his death the creature felt that it was it's chance to escape. However it saw the monkey of light and fire chasing it down. Down at the third level Tim was looking outside, his work on the IDs now done, and he saw the smoke coming from the roof and even some of the embers. "Jesus Christ! Are you people trying to burn this place to the ground!" the man shouted, alarmed at the group's apparent overkill on trying to take out the monster.

As the creature made a leap of faith to try and get away from the group of mad primates after it the creature would grab onto a ledge of another roof and not only have a firm grasp but also pull itself up. The creature would see the one covered by light and fire leap over it and crash land on a random dank alley. The creature let out a strange noise at the sight, almost as if it was laughing at the failed pursuit. As the creature began to sprint to another roof to leap on the fire from the building would be traveling down to the fourth floor, the smoke already causing the smoke detectors to activate the fire alarms.

What was worse that Jackie's stunt on making the pillar of radiance along with the fire she caused was being recorded by other people by their phone. A few people were even trying to find what caused the strange pillar. From the Red Orchid the people living in there were evacuating the building including Tim who had two suitcases containing a few of his belongings, his money and the finished IDs. The group now has a time limit over their heads on finding Tim to get the IDs and leaving the area before the firefighters and cops show up.

With Elizabeth she was still driving through many streets when she suddenly felt the creature that was following her disappear. "Finally, now I can go back to Tim's place and get everyone. It's gonna be a pain in the arse trying to fit everyone in this car." the witch grumbled as she knew it was going to be a tight squeeze now that their group number has grown. Elizabeth thought of how the seating arrangement should be handled as she was driving back to the Red Orchid. Just as she was close she already came up with a plan on how to fit the group that came with her. She would have Trevor and Greed sit at the front with one of them sitting at the others lap, Kyle would sit in the back with Jackie on his lap and Lamar and Ryder would be left alone. Not the perfect arrangement but her car was small and that was doable if not a tad bit awkward for some.

However her thoughts soon turn away from where the group to her senses warning her of another creature. Elizabeth looked around and for a brief moment saw a dark shape leaping off a building and landing on another. Elizabeth didn't have a clear look of what it was but she had a bad feeling about it's presence. When she finally reached the building she saw that the roof was on fire. The witch looked at the scene with a blank expression. "I leave these guys alone for a few minutes and this is what happens..." the witch will scream in frustration later, right now she needs to get them out of here before the authorities finds them.

Elizabeth parked her car and got out of the vehicle, running towards the crowd and going through the mass of onlookers as they watch the raging inferno consume the top portion of the aged building. Once Elizabeth manage to break through she ran inside the building and went to the stairs to find the group. Once the witch finds the others minus Jackie and Kyle. "What the hell happened here? Where are Jackie and Kyle and more importantly why is the roof of this building on fire? Also where the hell is Tim and is he alright?" the furious witch asked, panicking on how the first day of the investigation turn into a disaster and general vexed on the mess she found herself in. She had to get them away from this place fast because she was not in the mood to ask the police any questions related to the fire.

Real Metal Respite

Once Alucard casted his fireball, it soared towards the left automaton as the ball of flame crackles from the pouring rain. Running at a incredible speed, the first automaton simply pushed through the fireball and towards Alucard. It took no time for the automaton to reach Alucard as it tried to dropkick the vampire. As for the second right automaton, Jacket spray of bullets somehow only manages to only hit this automaton. The scraping of metals is heard as Jacket’s bullets against the metal being, denting some areas over the automaton’s body. Yet that did not stop the dashing robut as it attempted to tackle Jacket once in range. On the other hand, Julyan was simply ignored. Julyan’s magic fucky did a good number on the iron door, causing a heavy dent to it. If Julyan were to keep at the door, it would only take one or two more charge to completely cause the iron doors to bust. As for his actions against the two automatons, well, they were alright occupied with the two others and a bit far off.

Trebizond

Pobeda shook his head, seeing the sadness in Shut Hell's smile. "I apologize if this disappoints you. As great as my powers are, I am not infallible, as some might have you believe. Regardless, it is a pleasure to meet you Ms., uh, Ms. Hell." He gave the woman a quick, polite bow. Meanwhile, Kadoor heard Ann's call for a pencil and paper and came over to join the three. "I have a pencil and paper, what do you need it for?" Pobeda gestured to Shut Hell and said. "Our new ally here is unfortunately mute, and we need the pencil and paper so she can write what she wants to say." Kadoor nodded and gave a sympathetic smile. "That is very unfortunate. Here, take this. You definitely need this more than me." She pulled out a small notebook and a pencil and handed them to Shut Hell.

Eleutherius put his helmet back on and said, "Then we are committed." before drawing his bolter and marching through the gateway into the wasted village. He scanned this new village closely, his enhanced perception taking in more details than the others could see. Stepping around the tiny Baki, the Astartes said "Be on the lookout. We must expect anything here." As Tadz began trying to talk with the clearly hostile entities approaching them, Eleutherius made a quiet sigh, internally scrutinizing such a lack of professionalism. When the first of the shadow walkers lunged at him, the Veteran Sergeant spin in the blink of an eye and kicked the creature away from him before leveling his bolter and squeezing the trigger. The other heroes would hear three loud bangs in such quick succession that they almost sounded as one. The first was the initial propellant of the Bolt Gun firing the bolt out of the barrel, the second was the bolt's built in rocket engine firing shortly after it left the barrel, and the third was the explosion of the round as it entered the body of the Shadow Walker and detonated. As the horde grew, Eleutherius opted to switch to his chainsword to conserve ammunition. He leapt into the ever-increasing horde with a speed and precision that would seem impossible from a figure so large and bulky. The Chainsword roared and growled as it tore through the shadow beings, carving a path through the ever-increasing mob on the path to the distant castle.

Hersel and Venera flew off with Marcus and Alex, landing amid the lines of soldiers. "Oh, come on, do we look like civilians to you?" Venera said, gesturing to herself and Hersel. The two drew their weapons for combat as the dust cloud approached, Hersel adopting a very worried look while Venera only grinned in excitement at the prospect of more combat. Venera rushed ahead, beginning to fire off arrows at the smaller robots, destroying a few. Meanwhile, Hersel hung back for a second, looking over to Alex. "Hey, you think you could put us over into that mass of metal death so we can get to stabbing?"

Alena was perturbed, to put it lightly. First Jonah rudely told the Wanderer to just ignore what she had to say, then the Wanderer just decided to do exactly that! The absolute gall of these people! She crossed her arms and let out an annoyed groan. "Well," She said to Jonah as they arrived to Wakanda. "who died and made you the unquestioned leader here? All you've don here is get us lost and drag us into a mindless adventure when we could be doing things actually useful rather than just fucking around in this stupid sci-fi paradise city!" She glanced over at the Wanderer, frustration painted on her face. "And you?! Why, I've never seen someone so disrespectful as the likes of you! You ask me a question then immediately walk away before I can even think of an answer? What were you even thinking?!" She let out a loud sound of annoyance and said "Ugh, I swear I'm surrounded by idiots here." As she began to calm down, she turned away from them, stepped towards Theo and addressing him. "At least you seem to have some sort of sense. Anyways, I never actually caught your name."

The Grand Adventure

Wakanda

The Wanderer turned around with a soft gasp. Was he so caught up in his own enthusiasm that he ingored Alena? Now he looked upon the consequences of his negligence. One might have expected him to react with anger, to scold her for being such a disrespectful child - but he didn't. The straight, regal posture that the Wanderer had worn before softened. Sorrow clung to his eyes like mist on a lake.

"Is that so?" He said, his voice quick and dreary. "I do sincerely apologize if I had made you feel ignored. I did not intend to. I thought that I could perhaps relieve you of your homely duties of heroism and danger-seeking but... I have mistaken. You do not want what I offer, and I understand, and I'm sorry. Once Mrs. Heinz is ready, I can bring you all home"

Theo's words only deepened the wound. "You think I haven't tried that?" The Wanderer's voice rose, filling with grief and regret. His arm quivered as the grip around the top of his cane tightened. "You think I've never once thought that I can save everyone? Let me tell you! I did once, long ago... and I failed. I couldn't save them; I couldn't save anyone. It's impossible"

His tone quieted down to a melancholy murmer, but every single word was punctuated with some unknown resentment from the past. "You can't save everyone. One man, or even whole armies tens of trillions strong, can never hope of taking on all of reality. It's simply too much for anyone to comprehend, not even myself! No matter how much you do, there will always be more suffering, more pain, more agony. I thought I could finally turn towards indifference to all of the horror and bring joy to others instead of trying to be the hero, but instead I meet all of you, telling me that we should be saving the Multiverse. You are just as foolish as I was"

He froze, a blank, thousand-lightyear stare burning into the emerald grass below. "I have spoken too much" His posture straightened, but was still heavy under the weight of his past. "You want to be heroes? You want to fight something? Then how about we deal with the issue that is right in front of us!"

The Wanderer turned around towards the Kobolds, his cane striking the dirt with renewed vigor. Alena's and Theo's words have unearthed something in their host that was beforehand hidden. "I've had some experience with Kobolds, and they were not the most pleasant experiences. You're explorer's you say?"

He lifted up his cane, pointing towards Bernin Zana. "You see that city? It's quite a lovely city, if I may say so myself. Within it lies riches beyond what most can ever comprehend" His stuck his cane back into the ground. "You would like to plunder that city of its splendor, wouldn't you?"

Secrets of the Raven

As Trevor descended back down the fire escape - Lamar behind him - he brushed past Greed, who asked about what was going on. "Just your run-of-the-mill spider monster, that's all" He answered dispassionately. "And some girl decided to light the whole place on fire, but there isn't much I can really do about that"

Things probably would have gone a lot better if Sypha were here. With her magic, she easily could have frozen the rainwater to attack the monster, or make a platform to stand on, or just to put out the fire. She could have struck that thing down with lightning! But she was somewhere else, in a different universe entirely, one where Trevor hoped she was safe.

Trevor returned safely to the ground with Lamar to find a livid Elizabeth waiting for them. The hunter apathetically retold the events to the witch. "A monster was stalking us, so I made chase. Some of the others decided that they wanted to be heroes, too, then that Jackie girl decided to go overboard and light the whole place on fire. That wasn't really my fault. Jackie and this Kyle fellow are still chasing the creature probably, or they got caught in their own flames. Tim must have fled the building my this point, no doubt"

The vampire hunter sighed, itching his beard. "If this investigation of yours is going to yield any results, you might have to pull the reins on those two"

RESPITE

The hellfire did absolutely nothing. Just what were these sentinels made out of? Alucard had little time to think as one of the automatons charged at him. The Dhampr stood completely still until the moment his attacker jumped to drop kick him. Alucard swiftly moved out of the way of the attack while not moving a single muscle, red afterimages trailing behind him as he almost instantaneously moved behind the automaton. In a quick, fluid motion, he drew his sword and made a slash at the back of the guardian's neck. Even if his dark magic had done little to nothing, he still had to stay on the offensive if he wanted to buy Julyan the time he needed to destroy the gate.
What is a sig? A miserable little pile of words! But enough talk!

Secrets of the Raven
Lamar

Lamar descended with Trevor, noticing the other bump into him. He was quite thankful after the lending hand that Trevor had offered, and showed himself as such. “Shit homie, thanks man. Near got fuckin’ splattered there, I fuckin’ owe you one.” Now with Greed speaking to them, Lamar felt it necessary to answer as well. “Yeah, what he fuckin’ said. Mothafucka came and spidermonkeyed this shit, all jacked up an’ shit.” They hit the sidewalk, Lamar pushing through the crowd watching the rain descend upon the fiery rooftop. “Good thing I fell off of that mothafucka, I don’t wanna get burned an’ shit.”

He considered Ryder for a moment, but paid him no mind. If Ryder had cared even the least bit about him, he would have come back and pulled him up. Fuck him. They approached Elizabeth next, who had just returned from her away trip. “Yo, get yo goddamn phones outta my face. Ain’t neva’ seen a nigga in the wild?” He shoved past a man who had been recording the entire event on his phone, numerous others having followed suit in observing the fire. He responded to Elizabeth in kind after Trevor was done speaking. “Yo, we gotta bail on this shit. I don’t want the heat on my ass, you feel me?” It was around this time that he saw a familiar face come rounding the corner of a building, sauntering over with those everso familiar baggy jeans.

Ryder walked up to them, sneaking past the crowd that was focused on the blazing embers for now, mumbling as he did. “...had to climb down a fuckin’ pipe to get away from that shit, let’s get the fuck outta here yo-” before he could finish his redundant suggestion, Lamar interrupted him. “Where the fuck were you, motherfucker? Leavin’ me for dead an’ shit.”

Ryder threw a dismissive hand at him. “Man, shut up you pussy-ass nigga. We got more important shit to deal with right now.

Jacket

Jacket quickly leapt out of the way, his hand still trembling from the burst of gunfire he unleashed upon the automaton. He slid on his stomach, rolling over onto his back and quickly getting back up to face the peppered figure. As it turned back to him to finish its job, he let another burst of fire from the Uzi into the creature; before finding his gun empty. He tossed it aside, readying his bat and side-stepping to keep its attention while Julyan blew the doors open.
I don't know what I'm s'posed to do.

Rise of the Masked Man

Mt. Silver Hiking Path
Gold shook his head at Atem's question.
"Nah, there's not really a lot that can control shadows. Though, there are Dark type Pokemon, but I don't think that's the same thing."

Ty thought for a moment.
"A bus is like a car, but bigger, and-"

Wait. He thought to himself. Clearly, this kid was not familiar with cars, either; Why else would he be talking about carriages?

"Uh, yeah. Those 'metal carriages' that we saw are called 'Sports Utility Vehicles,' or 'SUV' for short. A bus is kinda like that, but bigger. They're built for mass transit."

Then, Link pulled out what appeared to be a rather large, and perfectly clear sapphire. Ty's eyes widened as he stared at it in disbelief.
"The fuck you get that? That thing's probably worth half a million bucks!"

Ty cleared his throat, regaining his composure.
"Er, well, I doubt any of the stores around here would take it, but I'd bet a museum or collector would pay a shit ton of cash upfront for a sapphire like that."

As Moira and Percy explained who they were, Gold nodded.
"Well, glad to have you guys on the team." he said with a smile. "If you really take out 20 foot monsters, then you should have no trouble taking care of yourselves."

After some hours of walking, the group made it to the bus station, where a 1963 Isuzu BXD 30 rolled up the the stop, and halted with a snap-hiss. The bus seemed to run very well, despite its age and well-worn appearance. The doors opened up, revealing a rather cheery woman in a blue uniform in the driver's seat.

"Hey, you guys have pretty good timing!" she said with a smile.

Mt. Silver Police Headquarters, Medical-Prison Facility
Officer Jenny looked on at Avarice with a mixture of concern, doubt, and confusion.

Clearly, this 'Audrey Famei' thought that this was a joke, and was wasting the officer's time. Either that, or she was legitimately insane.

Officer Jenny cleared her throat, then stood up, straightening her crisp, form-flattering uniform.
"Well, maybe it would be best for you to speak to an attorney. We've arranged a public defender for you, if you would like. His name is Phoenix Wright, and he should be arriving soon."

She glanced towards the door, almost hoping that the man would walk through in that moment.
The champion said that they probably were from a different universe, like those Ultra Beasts, but I really don't buy it... Then again, it would explain why she's able to live through so much... Among other things...

Mt. Silver Police Headquarters, General Lobby
The officer at the desk looked over to Madi, who was sitting on one of the couches.
"You don't remember? You're at the Mt. Silver Police Station. You came in with, um..."

The lady turned her head to glance at Muffet, who was sitting on a couch across the room.
"That."
"Wow, rude."

The officer then turned back to Madi.
"You and her came here to answer some questions regarding the Team Rocket activity up the mountain, and about that one lady in the medical wing who... Ate a guy? Don't worry, your friend is okay, but Officer Jenny's questioning her, and an attorney will be with her shortly. When Mr. Wright arrives, Officer Jenny will come out here to take your statements."

"Wow, there's a lot of bureaucracy involved in humans' law systems, huh?" Muffet mused.

Blackthorn City
"Let's just say we're in the kinda business where confrontation is a daily thing." Bert spoke.

"Yeah, our boss is here, waitin' for Articuno to show up so he can catch it. We're here to make sure people don't cause issues in the plan." Ernie mentioned. "And y'know, a buncha guys just materializin' outta nowhere with guns might put a wrench into the works. Now, if youse wanna, I don't think the boss would have anything against some extra help in our endeavor. Whaddya say?"

Drawn Through the Multiverse

Wilfre's Lair
Wilfre made his way through his castle, having detected the arrival of someone through some strange rift. It was bothersome trying to deal with an intruder, while he needed to focus on his plans. The castle was dimly lit, by means of several magical torches lining the walls; The dim atmosphere was exacerbated by the fact that the walls were entirely black, with very little in the way of decoration.

Eventually, he found the man-a very strange-looking clown, by his appearance.

"You're in my castle." Wilfre responded curtly, having overheard Advrick talking to himself. "My name is Wilfre."

The stout Raposa was covered in a black shadow, that danced around as if he were made of some kind of black fire. The only discernible feature aside from the darkness surrounding him were a pair of empty white eyes, that glowed faintly. The small man carried a golden staff, the top of which was a large red paintbrush.

"I suppose you aren't here to stop me, if you don't know where you are. So, I suppose I won't have to worry too much about you..." Wilfre thought aloud.

As he spoke, he turned around, as if looking for someone behind him.
"There are others outside, though... They seem intent on breaking in. I'll have to see how they like my little pet, now that I've resurrected him." he muttered to himself.

Wilfre's eyes glowed for a moment, before the Raposa turned to face Advrick.
"Okay, so now that the pests outside are busy, who are you? Where did you come from?"

Wilfre's Wasteland
Tadayoshi, Kongou, and Maya turned to see Eleutherius as the three distinct bangs were heard; Tadayoshi thought for a moment, impressed.
I wonder of IMPDO would make something like that... Must be fun to shoot.

The various shadow creatures were easily mowed down by the group, who advanced down the path, making it rather close to the black castle in front of them. Now it seemed the castle towered over them, despite still being a good couple hundred meters away.

However, their path was soon blocked by a massive scorpion, easily fifty feet long, and white glowing white eyes. Instead of a normal stinger at the end of the scorpion's tail, there was a very large, barbed metal trident. The scorpion scuttled across the stone path towards the heroes, moving far faster than one would imagine such a creature to be capable of.

Tadayoshi instinctively drew his USP and fired at the creature, emptying the magazine with no effect, as the rounds simply glanced off, not so much as scratching the scorpion.

The man holstered his weapon, and paused for a split second, realizing that the rest of his equipment was on board Kongou, drying out. His brows furrowed, as he bent his knees, getting into a sprinting position.

There was a loud crack, as Tadayoshi kicked off of the ground, launching himself forward towards the scorpion at speeds faster than the eye could track, leaving a small crater where he had pushed off of the ground. The man had jumped in front of the scorpion, punching it in the face, causing it to stop its advance.

The scorpion took a few steps backwards, and immediately thrust its tail downward in front of its face, attempting to skewer the man that had punched it. Tadayoshi quickly stepped to the side several feet, as the trident came crashing down, piercing the rock below. He had been able to dodge the attack, but just barely.

Jesus, that was fucking close... Tadayoshi thought, his heart racing. Time seemed to slow down for him, as his superhuman perceptions kicked in as part of his fight-or-flight response. Despite this, the scorpion seemed to move swiftly. This thing is fast...

Kongou focused on the creature in front of her, and began charging a small black sphere in front of her. She fired it at the scorpion, who simply jumped into the air. It was a short hop, but enough to keep the scorpion out of harm's way, as the corrosive field struck the ground below, disintegrating the ground below, and leaving a perfectly spherical concave crater where Kongou's attack had struck.

This creature seems to be a smarter opponent than the previous enemies. Kongou noted mentally.

Secret of the Raven

'Soulless freak'?

Agent A thought for a moment, before asking another question.
"Soulless? Do souls actually exist? I'm assuming if you're so adamant in your position, you can detect them?"

This was certainly an interesting development; If souls existed, then did that mean a deity did as well? How would this affect physics? How did souls work? All of these were questions that Agent A never bothered with, thinking that they were a waste of time, but suddenly, there was a chance that they could become relevant.

Link
Mt. Silver

Link took in what Ty told him and then nodded.
"Okay. I somewhat get it now. Carriages can sit up to four people. Or six if they're the larger ones."
The boy looked back to see Gold talking to the two cat-like-beings and waved then turned back to Ty.
"A museum? But Rupees are currency where I come from." he held up the Blue Rupee. "This is just one. There's also 5, 10, 20, 100, and 500 Rupees. I know that you have different currency than me, but why would I go to a museum?" Link paused for a second. "Wait. You said this was a sapphire?" The boy looked at the Rupee for a second and titled it so the sun reflected off it's many facets. "Hmmm....I mean, it is just one....okay, I'll do it."
The Hero of Winds was thinking about some certain words that Ty had said.
They have to be curses, what else would they be? I wonder if there's a equivalent-Wait. Oh. How could I forget? Of course we have equivalents.
As if something had wanted him to verify this, a sharp rock connected with Link's shin and he reacted accordingly.
"Ah! Far, that hurt!" He checked to see if he was bleeding - he wasn't - and glanced over at Ty.
"I'm okay."

Many hours later....
After hours of walking (which were occasionally lengthened by necessary things) Link and the other reached the bottom of Mt. Silver.
A strange carriage rolled up to the group, slowed down, and came to a stop.
The doors opened with a hiss and Link was surprised to find that an old woman was the driver.
The boy looked to his left and saw Gold standing nearby.
"You said you could pay for all of us? I think you did."
Link got as close as he dared to the huge carriage, which was nearby the doors, and silently tried to figure out what he was looking at.
If everything here is this advanced....I'm going to be completely lost....I just hope the seats are comfortable.

After looking at the strange carriage for a few more minutes, Link made up his mind and stepped into the thing.
What caught his eye first was how many seats there were. There had to be least 15 on each side of the carriage.
The cat creature and his friend where already sitting in a seat and Link took the one across from them, unsure of how he felt.
Well. Here we go...If only Grandma could see me now. I wonder how she's doing....

Madi
Mt. Silver Police Headquarters, General Lobby

"Wait. Did you say the Wright? The one who's taken on several magic cases?! Him?!"
Madi paused.
"Wait, he might be another version...Oh well."
She grinned.
"I've always secretly wanted to meet him in person. he's respected by everyone, even Purebloods."
The Witch got to her feet and began to do various stretching exercises.
"I think I slept wrong. I hate when that happens."

The Shape of the Nightmare to Come
Orbit of Lapis-4

The exoplanetary system of Lapis-1 was a forgotten small realm from the fires of a long pasted strife. The red dwarf’s radiant light bounced off the wreckage of a great ship above the small world covered by a great ice age, as its continents were seemly covered with ice. A colony ship by the named New Eden, with the crackled habitable unit seemingly intact but left in an shrouded darkness as the functions of the metellatic city lost all power. Even the flora withered away a long time ago and the water pools freeze in fantastic floaty ice sculptures. The ship was the remains of this once independent colony, but now lost.

Yet the fragments of Silverdalean artifacts were detected onboard this ghost vessel. A paladin graced by the light of Mythra laid his divine holy sword that contain a great celestial being. This contains valuable data to extract on the colony ship and the world of Lapis-4. No signs of the ship was looted beforehand as the assumption of the spacecraft plunged into the icy world of Lapis-4. That said, battered scrap metal to compliments of the ship fell down plantside as the gratival pull would claim the ship sooner once Lapis completed its second rotation of its star.

The ominous echoes of crocking metal didn’t fazed Ichigo as she led the extraction team to finish their treasure hunt. The absence of any pirate bands or space monsters in this no-man's system was dull enough. But it should be all over as Ichigo adjusted her dozing position at the cockpit of the Seperahim to witness her astronaut team carrying the colorless coffin, data chips, and a weapons case out of the depths of the ship.“Finally!” She sprang up into action.

“Admiral Rei! Our objects at the colony ship has been completed with no signs of compilation.” Ichigo reported. ” And too easy in fact. I wish this mission was something like those alien horror movies. Would make this day a lot better.” She groaned a little.

“Good work Commander.” Rei took a slip of green tea as the mission unfolded according to plan. “Processed with the extraction protocol.”

“Roger that Admiral!” Ichigo sighed in relief. “Now is there any other missions assigned for today? Can’t be another borefest job like this one, besides the cool sword.” Ichigo asked the admiral.

“This should be the last assignment from high command sent us Commander. Once we secure and our scientist completed their analysis of the data, we’ll be off to the beaches of Mythra in no time.” Rei replied. “Now let’s make our way back home.” She announced as her fingers gotta work to play some tones for the journey ahead. It was a short wait as the Mecha and the dropship returned to the ship’s hanger bay, and the grand battleship the Empyrean processed to activate its engines to space travel.

Everything was foreseen by Alice’s futurevision and Rei’s duty was near completion. The journey to homeworld would face any interference as the time of peace is upon the United Worlds. At least, that what was predicted! The Empyrean and her escort fleet’s routine came into contact of an unexpected rift swallow the whole fleet.

SPACE!

“Alert! Ethereal Shift detected!” A soft but masculine voice of Cosmos rang sirens in the white sleek holographic deck. The flash of red lights and the sudden emergency protocol of the fleet’s Nexus system due to the sudden rift travel woke up the crew in a rush.

Admiral Rei slowly finished her sip of tea, breathed in deeply as she focused her attention at the window. Sure enough, the Empyrean arrived back IN SPACE, but there was something off about this realm as Rei analysis the situation. The current sector she was in wasn’t in the database. Only the obvious was revealed as the fleet arrived in unknown region of the cosmos. To boldly go where no man gone before was the first remark Rei had. Sadly that didn’t last.

“Admiral.” The first mate, a fine officer dressed squirrel lady named Schwarzer. “The Empyrean is detecting a massive amrada, the largest fleet encountered in Silverdalean history! No, I’m not even lying here! Cosmos zoom in within these coorbites.”

The window screen magnetic in closer to show entire amrada of war world two watercraft vessels outfitted for insteral travel. It outnumbered the Silverdalean fleet by one to a hundred!

Rei dropped her cup of tea unto the ground. The cup broke loudly as the Admiral leaned over as her jaws dropped by the site. “Sweet mother of mercy.” She then snapped into action. “Quick, hail the commanding flagship and hope they’re willing to communicate with us. But encase the aliens fired at us, processed with a tactical retreat to the a far away planet system.”

“Sure thing boss!” Cosmos said. “Attempting to communicate with the lead ship now.”

The flagship Yamato receive transmission from the Empyrean as a message played out. “This is Admiral Rei Umemura of the United Worlds of Silverdale requesting communications. We are not hostile, repeat, not hostile.”

The Doom Marine
The Multiverse’s Most Dangerous Game
Inkopolis

The moment the ink fell upon the Giant Creature, the Doom Marine knew he blundered. He should have known that the Splatling was no weapon, and now that big lizard would trample all over him, and send him back to hell. To his surprise, the Doom Marine had not gotten the attention of the Giant Monster at all, it just continued to destroy and rampage through out the strange city. The Doom Marine felt frustration and perplexion, he realized that this creature was more powerful than he was, and there was no weapon around that he could use to destroy it. Debris crumbled around him, and odd people scrambling for some sort of refuge. The Doom Marine heard shouting, it was something heroic, as if someone was trying to rescue someone, "Run, now!" it reassured the Doom Marine. He heard footsteps coming behind him, saying something along the lines of "Allow me to help!".

The Doom Marine looked behind him, a blonde woman with in a blue dress was walking to him. Walking? In a situation like this, most people would be running, which is exactly what was happening. She held her hand up high, the Doom Marine was reminded of the times he had fought countless Imps, who would cast fireballs from their claws. The Doom Marine was puzzled for a moment, he thought what to do next and during all of this he still kept his finger on the trigger of the Heavy Splatling.

The woman raised her hand and the globs of ink that sputtered out of the Heavy Splatling became frozen shards that launched themselves into the thick hide of the Giant Creature. The Doom Marine felt insanely grateful, "Thanks lady!", thought the Doom Marine, he felt that with an ally at his side the creature would become history. But most of the shards only got stuck in the hide of the creature, the Doom Marine felt he was screwed over by God, or Satan(probably Satan).

He felt something tug on him, before finally being dragged off. Now there was another reason to thank the Mage Lady, as the Doom Marine became to know her as, because she pulled him away from a destructive beam of radioactive energy. The Doom Marine grunted to himself, he may have had radiation resistance, but radiation was also his weakness, it could sap his armor's protective abilities and his natural durability. The Doom Marine was surprised at her fortitude, something told him that this "Mage Lady" was something alot more than just some random benefactor that came along the way.

The Mage Lady pulled the Doom Marine into an alleyway, the giant creature had been successfully avoided, and the two were completely intact. The Doom Marine saw this as an opportunity to finally sit down and think things out. The Doom Marine, during his one-man war against hell, had no opportunity to rest and think, for him it was always moving and shooting whatever came in his way. The Doom Marine had articulated a new plan, and it was to push the shards embedded in the Giant Creature's hide further in into's it's flesh. The Doom Marine was reinvigorated, with this new plan, he hoped to defeat the Giant Creature. He faced the "Mage Lady" and told her his plan, only that his explanation came out as an inarticulate grunt, "URF.", the Doom Marine grunted, there was always a reason why he was so silent. "Now I remember why I don't talk to people", grumbled the Doom Marine in his head, he had another idea of communicating with the Mage Lady. The Doom Marine opened up his palm and pushed his two fingers onto it, he hoped that she would understand his plan of pushing the frozen shards further into the Giant Creature.

Small Post Respite

Alucard’s sword strikes against the neck of the automaton, denting the sword in at the tip. It did not take long for the automaton to respond, moving quickly to turn around as it pushed aside the sword. Within range, the automaton grabs Alucard’s right shoulder before pulling Alucard towards him, headbutting Alucard’s head. A thump is heard as the two heads crashes into each other. As for Jacket, the alright damaged automaton endures the spray of bullets as it reaches into it’s coat jacket, pulling out a crude pistol. Once the storm of lead was over, the automaton wastes no time and fires 8 rounds of 9mm towards the chest of Jacket.

Secrets of the Raven

Red Orchid

When Trevor told her that they saw a monster and during their pursuit after it Jackie went overboard and light the place on fire the witch was reminded of the thing she saw leaping across buildings. "I think I saw our monster friend when I was getting here. I want to say we can catch up to it if we can use my senses but if that thing is what I think it is than our chances of catching it now are minuscule. It would be to far away and find some place to hide long before we reach my car and began to follow it's trail." she told Trevor. "I also doubt they would be able to catch up with it either and I hope they don't because I don't need any more buildings on fire." the witch was obviously trying to contain her outrage over Jackie's actions from her voice.

When lamar and Ryder approached her and told her everything that happen from their point of views she told the group. "Look we will deal with this mess later, we need to get the hell out of here and far away from this miss, but more importantly we need find those two before anymore buildings are destroyed." When Trevor mention to her that if the investigation was to succeed those two would need to be put on reign in the witch agreed with him. "I will think of a fitting punishment for Jackie and how to control them. First we need to get out of here." the witch lead the group outside and after going through the crowd would take the men to her car.

"Yes Trevor, my world uses metal horseless carriages. I can't explain too much on how it works now but I will later." she told him as she open the doors for them to go in, this time without forcing anyone on sitting on anyone's lap for room. Once everyone was in the car Elizabeth began turn on the ignition and began to drive away from the scene. As the group saw the buildings driving by they would hear sirens off in the distance, soon they would see the crimson and azure lights of police cruisers going by follow by fire trucker and even an ambulance. Elizabeth was silent in the drive but soon she took out her phone and dial a number.

"Oi Tim where are you?" she asked. Trevor being close would hear Tim's voice through the phone, yelling at Elizabeth in rage even though he couldn't hear any of his words clearly. "Looks I didn't know that she was that reckless okay. I will repay you later when I can, right now I'm a bit tight on cash on the moment. I just need to know if your safe and if you have the other IDs done before all of this mess happen?" Trevor would hear Tim yelling at her again. Elizabeth's grasp on the wheel tighten the more she heard Tim yelling at her. "Can you just stay where you are and tell me where to find you so I can get the IDs? You don't need to mail them to my place?" Once more she was silent as Tim spoke again.

As the car stop for a raid light and a trolley pacing by Elizabeth's eyes widen on what Tim told her. "Wait you can let just leave me now, I need your help if anyone wankers appear in the world." she said. "Please Tim I will keep that bitch on a tighter control, I will even place an obedience geass if I have too. Just don't leave me out here to dry mate. I need all of the help I can get in here because I doubt anyone else in here will be willing to help my sorry arse once they find out that I was remotely connected to what happen in the Red Orchid." Yet it seems her pleads fell on deaf ears as Elizabeth's panic only grew with the next words she heard from the other line.

"Wait Tim don't hang up please, I can still..." her words stopped as she heard him hang up. Elizabeth once more became silent and unresponsive, not even noticing or caring that the light turn green as she put away the phone. The other drivers from behind her began to blare honk at Elizabeth to move and when she did she only did so when the light was changing, leaving the drivers behind her stuck on yet another red light. In the car a thick tension can be felt coming off the mage as she silently drove her car through the windy streets of the town, the only sound being the ambiance of the town street and rain hitting the glass and the wipers clearing it.

"Looks like we lost our counterfeiter thanks to Jackie setting his place on fire. Now we are back to the same issue if anymore people show up from those rifts with them being fucking nobodies in this place. Just my fucking luck." the witch spat out, once more being forced to stop due to a red light and a car stopping in front of her. "I swear the moment I see that bitch again I'm gonna curse her!" the witch screamed. "I'm willing to put up with her bullshit on being a fictional character but if she starts letting that disillusion get in the way of the investigation than I'm gonna force her to come back to reality." The light turn green but the driver on front didn't move. Elizabeth in her current mood began to honk at the them, yelling at them to move only to get the driver from the front give her the middle finger as they slowly move forward.

"I don't need to put up with their shit now." the fuming witch mutter, speeding up her car to go around the driver, both vehicles being slow close they nearly scrapped against each other. As Elizabeth got in front of the car she heard the driver calling her a crazy bitch. "Bite me you wanker." she said. Elizabeth was aware that her little stunt was most likely recorded by a CCTV camera but right now she didn't care, the retaliation from cops for her little crime would be better than from the groups who she truly fear would retaliate for what Jackie did and who would take their ire on both her and the others because of her screw up.

As she kept driving down the road she looked at the rear view mirror at Lamar and Ryder. "So how experienced are you two at robbing houses and stores?" she asked the two as she return her eyes back at the road.

Morfran Tower

In the elevator none of them would have realized that the lady in red has seen what Agent A had told John, as the man panic in fear on Agent A somehow reading his mind without any soul to draw from his powers the woman was also shock, but where John saw fear she saw both intrigue and an opportunity. The woman sent a telepathic message her associate that was an expert on Shadowcrafting, to use his powers to find and bring the enigmatic soulless mind reader to her.

Once she got a response she continue to watch. John stuttered as he spoke. "Y..yes... so..uls are... real." the man was shivering as he knew that what he was witnessing was breaking every rule of the occult that he knew of, he was starting to think if maybe the abyss was involved in this? "I can see auras, they are what tell me if someone has a soul." he explains.

The lights in both the hall and elevator began to flicker and just as both men ponder on what was happening both would be struck by both the sudden decrease of the temperature in the elevator and hall and the sudden feeling of both fear, paranoia, and anxiety; which only made John even more terrified as he lost all control of his bladder.

"That man won't help you much on knowing about souls, but we can help you answer that question and more if you come with me." Turning around Agent A and John would both see the tall man in the black robes, his face covered by a green mask. John took one look at the figure and coward away from him until he hit the wall. "I promise I didn't tell him much I swear! I only told him what he was and how I knew what he is. Please spare me!" John screamed. "Your fate is for the mistress to decide, I'm here for the soulless one." the masked man said. "You will come with us soulless, our mistress finds you worthy to enter our sacred grounds." Agent A could have sworn to have seen what appeared to be shadows moving from the corners of his eyes but should he look for a source would find nothing.

Rise of the Masked Man

Mt. Silver Police Headquarters, Medical-Prison Facility

"I'm late!" Screamed out the man in a blue suit, his spiky hair cutting through the air as he ran through the busy hallway to the room he was suppose to be in. Defense Attorney, Phoenix Wright, was the best at his job but when it came to catching a break from the universe he often found that it found more amusement in seeing him suffer. He was once a defense attorney in a country called America working with his daughter and a few close friends who were also his pupils. He started his day like any other, waking up and having breakfast all while waiting for a case to come by his office. When it appeared that it was going to be a slow day Phoenix decided to go out to get some lunch for him and everyone in his office. Yet the moment he stepped out he was sucked in by a rift that appeared right in front of him.

When Phoenix appeared in the world he was delirious, he was sure he hit his head when he landed. Phoenix walked around a strange town that he suddenly appeared in and was acting so much of a bumbling fool that someone notified the police of his presence. When he was taken in he of course told the officers the truth even though he knew none of them would believe him, but to his surprise he found that not only did not believe his story but that he was no longer in his world as he found strange animals that have magical powers! Phoenix's surprise of course made them all curious on the man acting as though he never saw those magical creatures, these oddities of nature that he would later be told were called Pokemon. As Phoenix told them all that in his world such creatures didn't exist and even express more differences on his world and the others the officers would soon have to admit that his story was either a very elaborate hoax or delusion or they would have to accept the most craziest option, to believe that he came from another universe.

It took a while but eventually Ockham's Razor won out and most were convinced that he was telling the truth. The cops let him go and most likely came up with a cover story so they won't sound crazy to their bosses, he would normally be against such behavior but in this context he can't blame them if they lied about where he came from. It was an interesting time in this world, having to relearn practically everything about what was real in this world... okay not everything.

The law here, while different in some ways, was similar to his own world; heck the laws of physics were still pretty much the same barring the existence of magical creatures. The fact that education was free in this world meant that he had no trouble taking the Bar Exam to get his license to practice law in here. So far Phoenix has been doing this alone now, he hasn't had the heart to find anyone to replace Apollo and Athena. He also hasn't tried to get one of those Pokemon either as something just feels wrong about trapping an animal inside a small metal ball.

However now Phoenix wished he did had someone to be there to have woken him up just encase his clock broke down. As if being late wasn't enough he also had to deal with traffic and than a mini avalanche caused by a pokebattle that went out of control during his way to the facility, it would seem that no matter which universe he was in it found amusement in his suffering. When Phoenix reached the door he grabbed on to his knees and began to take deep breaths. Once he got enough oxygen into his system he began to whip off his sweat with a napkin he had in his coat pocket and straighten out his clothing to make himself look professional. Once he felt that he was ready Phoenix grabbed on the door knob and open the door, taking his first steps to see visit his client.

At first glance of his client Phoenix saw that she was a young woman with blond hair and blue eyes, pretty regular as far as everything in this world goes. Though with the fact her name was Avarice pretty much gave Phoenix a huge clue that regular was the last word to describe this woman, that and the reason she was here. "Good morning miss, my name is Phoenix Wright. I will be your defense attorney." Best to keep this professional now until he knows more about what is going on with this case and until he knows from the suspects point of view on what happened. Right now he was hoping that the reports were exaggerating because if they were true he would have a hard time defending her.

Ignis’s revelling in Wakanda was interrupted as he border patrol approached the group, led by W’kabi, on Vibraniun plated Rhinos. The leader of the patrol dismounted and approached the group. “State you reason for being in Wakanda. We are the Wakandan border patrol.” He stated sternly.

”Uh...we just...decided to visit Vakanda?”

W’kabi cocked an eyebrow suspiciously at her accent. She reminded him all too much of Ulysses s. Clawe. Of course, he tried to shake off his prejudices ever since the Wakandan Civil war and open his mind to outside peoples, but it still stuck with him.

“You just decided to visit Wakanda?” The patrol hovered more closely over them.

”I wouldn’t say normal. Possible, yes, but each magic group is made up of only a few families and kept hidden from the outside world.” Miranda explained. ”We’re a tiny enclave.”

When godzilla stepped on land, Konny knew they had little time left. ”I could go out and distract him so you guys can get to the energy source.”

”Yeah, no, terrible idea.” Jona said. ”But maybe...”

Konny decided to conjure up some corpses to nip at The back of Godzilla’s heels in order to distract him and buy time.

Azrael was really unsure how to answer. She was only made for reaping up survivors after armeggadon, and not for heavy attacks. But she didn’t want to dissapoint.

“I...I’m not sure. I don’t really know how strong my power is.”

The Shape of the Nightmare to Come - The Yamato

“Mmm... maybe we should find out.”, Alexandra said just as another volley of beams erupted outside, slamming onto the quadrillions of creatures that bit and clawed at the barrier. “But by the looks of it, angels are second only to gods. And we are told that they are, in fact, immortal.”, said someone else that walked into the bridge. It was a man, wearing a labcoat with a trimmed beard and cropped black hair. With leather boots that clacked with every step, he walked closer. “Doctor Wilhelm Schmidt, by the way. Head of the Science Department of the Terran Federation. We just had a few discoveries that could turn the tide, but I am going to tell you people a little later. For now, I want to ask our angel here a few questions, as well as know her... capabilities. I may sound pragmatic to you, uhm, Azrael, but in times like these, we need all the help we can get.”, he said as he put his hands into his pockets. “We will have to observe you destroy, say, a bot in order to gauge your power and find ways to improve on it.”

“Is that bit much, Doctor?”, the Admiral said as she leaned on a railing. “She came in just an hour ago.”

“It is up to her, either way, whether or not she’ll approve of it. I am not forcing anyone.”, the Doctor replied as he looked at the angel head to toe. “Please say yes...”

The Shape of the Nightmare to Come - Sector 129 Flagship - Andromeda Class Battleship “Dominus Astra”

Floating silently through the void, illuminated by the glow of the barrier, was the 35 km long Andromeda Class Battleship Dominus Astra, flanked by the four Slava Class Battlecruisers, Baikal, Ural, Ubiytsa, and Selezen, further surrounded by ten Myouko Class Heavy Cruisers: Nachi, Ashigara, Murakame, Murasage, Takao, Hagura, Hatsayuki, Shirayuki, Mitsuyuki, and Akebono. Further was a combined fleet of Sakkadian Reavers, Ensari Guardians, Azerion Wind Drakes, and Westorosian Swordwinds. Every now and then a sea of beams erupted from their barrels, killing billions of creatures every minute as they attempted to break through the barrier.

The Dominus Astra was commanded by Captain Alexei Kurdalyev, a 1,245 year old captain that has commanded the Dominus Astra for most of his life. He has fought against Sakkadian Raiders at the side of the lost Grand Admiral, Yi Sun-shin, against Asterian planet harvesters, and an assortment of other foes, but just 5 years ago, he fought against the gibbering creatures of the Swarm. Terrifying chitinous monstrosities they were, floating in space like tentacled monsters that consumed vessels whole. Others were little but hideous drones and killers that bit through men’s necks and stabbed through groups of children huddled together. They were the stuff of nightmares. So when five unidentifiable objects came in his radar, he almost reported is as a barrier break when sight readings came in. Metallic warships, with the familiar guns and weapons batteries and all. But they were unidentifiable. Are they-

“Dominus Astra, come in. You are to make diplomatic approach. The Yamato is busy on keeping the Swarm at bay.”

“K, fine.”, Alexei said, bored. The Dominus Astra and irs escorts soon made the move towards the unknown vessels and transmitted a message to the Empyrean...

”Unknown Vessels, this is the Andromeda Class Battleship Dominus Astra. Admiral Rei, please elaborate on how you have come here. This universe is all but dead, consumed by a swarm of monsters. Once you reply, docking and first contact protocol may commence. Dominus Astra, over.”

Rise of the Masked Man | Avarice

Avarice watched the officer go. Was it her smile? That way she moved, oh yes. The thin sinew hiding beneath papery skin. She would taste lovely. Everything would! A world so full of life, she could spend... Years, stuffing herself with exotic meats and people. But clearly, even her exaggerated theatrics and attempts at scaring the bejesus out of this little woman hadn't even the faintest effect. It seemed the best option would be to... Cooperate. Unfortunately, throughout her long and short existence, Audrey had never once had to play along.

And so, when that man stepped through the threshold, and her eyes fell on his gaunt face and neatly pressed suit, her first instinct was to blurt out a; "Hello there, sir. My name's Audrey Famei. Pardon the mess, I suffered some particular wounds. And I assume you'll be my public defender? A pleasure to meet my representative in court, Mr...?"

She sat up in the bed, unable to leave its side. Well, completely able, but not without getting blood all over the floor; and potentially pissing off a lot of people. She wasn't sure how to move, how to greet the man. So instead, she smiled sweetly, looked up from underneath her head, and gave him a sharp, curious look; like an innocent child. Almost uncannily innocent, really.

"If you're here to discuss my case, I'm all ears. But my personal information isn't applicable in these... Circumstances. I'm fairly certain you'll want to know how I ended up in this state, but, I'm sure Jenny already told you. Now, it might not be my place to be making invitations, but if you'd please sit, sir. May I ask when my case is going to be? What defence you've prepared? I have a few ideas myself, having seen a few court cases in my fifty-day time."

Grand Adventure | Tone

Valerian listened in on The Wanderer's ramblings. Under all that decorum and fastidious dedication to 'fun' was a man after all. He spoke of being unable to save people. Someone close to him? A world? No wonder he was a wanderer. He'd lost a home to go back to. And now, all he had was this machine. A puppet of his past. Victor had met too many people like him. Was this Wanderer a child? Eating candy in his parents' blood? Or was he a wise man, one pushed to the uttemost hedonism, rather than giving up. He did not care. He would not let these Kobolds come to harm. He interposed himself between the two groups, standing straight, and snapping his fingers. The entire world went silent. The grass had frozen. The wind had stopped.

"Mr. Wanderer, I do believe you're spending too much time languishing in who you couldn't save. But there's not no point in it all. As if anybody'd think they themselves were not worth saving. No matter where you are, what you're doing; you're not making a difference. So why care? Because some things, are just worth saving, and some things just need to be cut out. But nobody needs to go out of their way either. For every saved man, there's a dozen doomed. So the bunch of you, stop wasting your breath. Now Kobolds, whatever you may be. Try not to wreck the place, okay? I'm sure if you just say what you're here for, our esteemed colleagues won't try anything stupid, and neither will you. Capiche?"

Secrets of the Raven | Jacquelyn and Kyle

Jacquelyn lay in that alley, recuperating. She had to know what to do now. Obviously, with the arrival of the police and the burning down of the building (despite the rain), the author didn't want her getting away with this debacle. But she knew better than to let such a thing slide. She had to think fast. Fool the characters in the story, and fool the audience; even when it's an explicit lie. After all, the audience might be omniscient, but the setting is not. She looked up at Kyle, a trickle of blood streaming down her face. She'd hit that awning pretty hard.

"Kyle, hit me. Give me your knife."
"What?"

She leaned forward, and snapped her finger. A thin, long blade of light came out of her finger, pointed toward her torso and arm. It was clear what she intended to do. Kyle grabbed her wrist, pulled it away, gave her a look in the eye, and squinted quite hard. He couldn't quite believe what was happening, but under the circumstances, the extraordinary wasn't exactly the foremost concern.

"Just what the hell do you think you're doing!?"
"Cutting myself! I hurt myself pretty bad, blame it on the monster, nobody will blame me for making such a mess!"
"Okay, ignoring the sheer absurdity of that premise alone, what the hell Jack!? Won't you just cauterise the wound!?"
"No! Heat doesn't hurt me, remember? And besides. Not like we're getting out of this any other way."
"No, absolutely goddamn not! Put your arm down!"
"You can't stop me, can you?"
"If you do this, you'll have to go to the hospital. Think about how minor of a character you'll be then."

She thought, for a moment. That was a fair point. Maiming herself was going to be pretty difficult. And besides. From what she'd seen so far, with the romantic partner, light-based powers, she was obviously some sort of main character. Maybe even the paragon protagonist. Having scars would be out of character. Simply put, she knew her future; and her future involved no self mutilation. She put away the blade, acquiescing to the story's demands. Of course, she knew she was only following the play. No free will of her own to speak of.

"Alright. Just... Lead the way."

Kyle took the compass from his pocket, and held it up to the sky. He knew where Elizabeth was in a heartbeat. He and Jacquelyn moved out of the alley, and approached Elizabeth's car. They stepped onto the road, Jack leaning on Kyle. The two were covered in her blood, and his regret. Kyle was practically dead inside already. He knew what kind of a lambasting was gonna come. Jacquelyn, on the other hand, was a little less apologetic. Before the car even began to slow, Kyle stepped forward, opened the moving door, threw Jacquelyn into the back, and stepped into the car himself; all in one fluid motion. He'd just stepped into a moving car, passenger and all.

Kyle was the first to speak up. The awkward interlude was palpable. They'd just burned down a building, nearly driven Elizabeth to tears, brought along the police, gotten injured, and potentially lost everything.

"Elizabeth, I am so, so-"
"Hey hey hey! What the fuck!? How did a tiny ass fire manage to spread so fast? I barely set some roof tiles on fire!"
"Jacquelyn, shut up! I am trying to make an apology on your behalf."
"No, what I wanna know is why all these fucking writers are spending their time making big deals out of split decisions. Heck! I wasn't even aimin' at the roof!"
"Quiet already, Elizabeth?! Don't stop the damn car, I'm trying to sort this out, I'll pay you back, I swear!"
"I mean, what the fuck kinda story focuses on a forger for almost half a goddamn hour anyway?! Big fucking deal made out of getting our IDs, huh? Wow! The height of drama!"
"Would you shut it!?"
"No! I won't! Because I think this whole thing is bullshit. That roof should not have caught fire!"
"Who cares, who knows, who bloody gives a fuck! I don't care what you think this story is meant to be, but it's not one where you can do whatever you want! Lizzy, please, don't be mad. Okay, be mad, but not as mad as you would've been. There was a monster we were chasing, alright?! And Jacquelyn, over there, went a little overboard. Please, just don't.... Blow up. Or at least let us get home first."

Respite | Julyan

His bullets had no effect, his attacks were doing nothing. Not even the Explosive Device seemed to put a dent in these things. His teammates were buying his time, he could see that; leading the robots away from him. Time to do what, exactly though? He had an idea. He planted his hands on the ground again, covering them with mud and slick. The door crunched again. And then, even as the glyphed circle began to glow with rebound, he spun in a circle. He weaved the recoil from his earlier Thaumic working, and pushed it into the direction of the robots. A series of blue beams shot out, winding around them like ribbons. If he couldn't kill them, he'd at least try to slow them down.

"Get down!"

He didn't have enough EVE to finish breaking down the door. He drew a grenade, pulled out the pin, and threw the canister at the aperture. It exploded in an enormous flash, blinding. Chunks of debris shot through the air. He took a rock to the chest and fell backward wheezing. His blacksuit took most of the punch, but he was covered in detritus and dust. He stood up again, and ran through the church doors, hoping there weren't even more enemies inside. He stopped at the threshold, and turned to his comrades.

"Get inside! I can seal the door and keep those robots out!"

Trebizond Church: Rodrik

Rodrik, for whatever be the reason, be it the fact he was...INCREDIBLY drunk, (or the fact his writer had not seen it until now) Did not seem to particularly notice any attempts to approach him, until he were to finally turn to the...Group.

Scrawny children, freakshows, and one or two beings who looked liked Daedra that had been dropped down a flight of stares as children, oh boy, reminded him of his first wedding. At any rate, Rodrik was...Antsy, eager to get going with whatever he'd been dragged through the portal to do (He may have been too drunk to remember. Time to just roll with it.)

"Oi don't know 'bout you lot, but I'm 'bout damn ready to go meet this kingly fella and get along with this wee expedition. Less social-call-ness, more stabbin' things, aye?"

Moira and Percy - RotMM

Percy grinned at Gold after he said he was glad to have them. "Oh yeah, we'll be okay, nya. Nyo bunch of evil thugs can take us down that easily!" After about an hour, the group arrived at their destination just as another strange vehicle arrived. "So how exactly do these vehicles work? I've never seen a carriage move on its own without a Popo or Gargwa pulling it before." Moira asked. "And for the record: Popos are these furry meownsters with tusks, and Gargwa are big birds, nya." Percy added, knowing that the others probably wouldn't know what Moira meant. Then the two entered the bus and found seats.

Moira took a moment to glance out the window to reflect on everything that had taken place within the past few hours. I really hope the group doesn't think we're dead... That'd crush Gesh... The huntress thought, thinking back to her hunting group and her mentor Gesh. Gesh was a tough old man, but he was still prone to worrying about each of his students. And then there was Nallia; who was a bubbly and cheerful young brunette woman that was currently training under Gesh and the others, and who looked up to Moira as someone she could relate to. Moira hated the thought of the girl (who turned 19 in a few days) being worried sick about her.

And finally there was Rex; the mighty dark-haired Greatsword user of the group, and one of Moira's closest friends. Rex was usually a level-headed individual, but she still couldn't help but think about what he might be thinking now. Percy (who was currently standing on the seat next to her) pulled her out of her worried thoughts by tapping her shoulder. "Hey, you okay, nya?" He asked with a concerned face. Moira sighed, and then nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about the group is all." She said. Percy gave her a warm grin, and then laid a paw on her shoulder. "Hey, it'll be okay, nya. They know we're tough, and they won't give up hope so soon." He assured her, now sitting down.

"And hey, once we get back, you'll have one heckuva story to tell them, nya!" He continued, making Moira smile. She gave Percy a few rubs behind his ears, making him purr with delight. "Thanks Percy. I guess I needed to hear that." Moira said, causing Percy to smile even more widely. "Yeah, no problem, nya." He replied. Moira then sat back in her seat with a smile still on her face. Percy was right; this would be one impressive story to tell.

Kirby - DttM

Kirby glared at the Scorpion, and then rushed to attack it. As he ran toward it, a wave of poisonous fluid formed underneath of him, and soon he was riding the wave right at the creature. The wall of poison crashed into the scorpion, sending Kirby flying above it. As he did, he tossed several globs of goo down on the thing, and then landed behind it. He turned to face the thing, and then blew a cloud of toxic fumes out of his mouth at it.

Advrick - Wilfre's Castle - DttM

Advrick immediately turned to face the voice, and was seemingly surprised by who was talking. He hadn't expected to see something like this today, and for a moment he wasn't sure how to respond to the strange looking creature that called himself Wilfre. Then after Wilfre asked for his name, Advrick decided to speak. "Ah, yes. How rude of me to intrude on your home uninvited and without introduction." Advrick removed his hat, and then gave a very low, very formal bow. "I am the traveling performer Haste Silvereye, at your humble service." He said with a chortle.

Advrick was so used to referring to himself by this stage name at this point, that he himself almost believed that it was his real name. Granted, he wasn't too sure if it was necessary to use it here, because it was entirely possible that he was in a part of the Foreverplane that had never heard of the wanted Advrick Maxolus. Still, one couldn't be too careful. "Now if I may ask, what continent is this? I must know, because it's entirely possible that you may have never heard of my home." Advrick inquired with a grin, now replacing his hat.

Mynx - Wakanda - AGA

Mynx listened to the Wanderer's words and came to the rather obvious realization that there was a lot more to this man than met the eye. Now granted, she was probably the only other person in the group that didn't really have the desire to play hero, but it seemed like that was what was going to happen. Great, are we really going to get into a fight with a group of Kobolds now? I really didn't sign up for this. The goblin thought. Mynx wasn't too familiar with Kobolds, in fact all she really knew about them was that they were small lizard people that lived in the more arid areas of the Foreverplane.

But she didn't need to know much about them to know that they were wielding weapons that'd definitely hurt to get hit by, and she didn't like that one bit. "Um... can we please not get into a fight? Who says that they're even going to loot anything?" The goblin said.

A Grand Adventure
Ignis felt sympathy for the Wanderer after he told them of his backstory. She had tried to make the world a better place too, but it just seems it keeps getting worse no matter how hard people try. Still, she still would try. But it didn’t have to always be saving universes. People could kick back and have fun now and then, unlike what Alena said. Sure, it could be useful, but it didn’t always have to be.

Ignis hopped up next to the Wanderer. ”Zhese guys look ok. Hi! I’m Ignis heinz.” she introduced herself to them.

The Yamato
“Huh? I mean, ok, but...I don’t think I’m going to impress you or anything.” Azrael told Alexandra and the Doctor. “But I’m willing to give you a demonstration.”

A grand Adventure
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Ben asked the wanderer, ignoring the kobolds for now, if they started attacking he would go hero but he wanted to know what the wanderer was talking about first. "What do you mean you can't save everyone? When i got this watch I've been helping people daily and I never failed to save someone. I came close to loosing people I care about a few times but never actually failed." He explained, thinking about the time he went into the null void in a battle and his cousin coming in after him. Vilgax and Kevin got her as they were escaping, and they barely got out, but they still got out. When ignis went to introduce herself to them he was skeptical that they could even understand her.

Oh Hi Mark

On the very edge of the Norma Arm of the Milky Way, where the Local Group calls home, a patrol opens as a small fleet about 4,351 ships warps in. These ship were small in scale with the largest being only 1,000km. They’re blocky in design with no smooth or fancy curves to be seen. Splitting apart, these unknown ships went about recording data of this realm to find out in quick fashion that this is the Milky Way. Having already having mapped the whole Milky Way ages past, only but one ship went off to other clusters of galaxies. Warping above Earth in seconds, the small scout ship taps into the communications of the planet. A message is sent to the Grand Chancellor, alongside the Terran Diet. “This is the Universal Union. Please don’t be alarmed by the ships enroute. Please lower your defensive elements. Thank you.”

Grand Adventure

“I sympathize with the loss you have suffered, and I praise your past efforts. But, you are deeply flawed. You are like the Walls of Jericho, looking steady and strong at first, but collapsing whenever you face trouble,” Theo said, crushing a rock and his hand and letting the dust blow away. He then looked back at the Wander, with a disapproving expression he would use on a naughty child.

“Tell me this, Wanderer, do you truly believe what you are saying is a valid excuse, or are you simply telling that to yourself out of fear of failing again? Would you stand by as a child starves, saying you will not help him because you can never hope to feed all of the children in the world? You say you can never hope to help everyone, and I and the kind woman over here never said such a thing. It is true that you can never help everyone, that is a sad fact of life. Pain, suffering, and agony are all parts of life, we will never be rid of them. Yet, if you were to save a single person, you would have done something good. With what you could do, you could save thousands, maybe millions, and alleviate their suffering and make their lives better. You can not save everyone, but to save even one person would go to make the world a better place, and prevent them from feeling the same way you do now.

You call me foolish, but I would rather be a selfless fool who courageously rides into the battlefield than a cowardly genius who hides from his troubled past,” Theo ended off.

“Ahh, you’re the Confederate lady from earlier. It’s a pleasure to have the company of a like minded woman, I'm Theodosius, but you may call me Theo. Now, what would your name be?" He asked Alena.

The Secrets of the Raven
Investigation!

“My bad Sayaka.” Alice replied with a polite bow. “I guess it was a bad nickname I picked up from Ms. Ashwood.”

Well something happened in the parking lot outside as Alice. Remnants of a previous fight, and it appeared a Youkai was a behind it. “Indeed. I shall deploy my dolls to assist in our search.” Alice told Sayaka. Alice then drawn out her little sherlock looking blonde Doll equipped with a looking glass to get started. “Alright, go out and search for clues!” She commanded Sherlock and a following group of four Shanghai dolls to go out to find any potential clues left behind the scene.

As is going well until some… strange woman appeared in the scene and asked if Alice was a child. “Pardon me Ms, but...” Alice found herself stupefied by not only Skylar assumption that she was a child, but the mention of her family. There was an uncomfortable silence as she felt a slight gloom of her current state of her parents. She preferred not to think about her family ever since she became a magician, as Alice lost all contact with them.

Alice shook as she lost track and jump back on when Syker recommended they returned to the hotel. “Excuse me miss, but I'm actually an adult. I simply looked young, so my apology for the confusion. As for why we’re here...” Sherlock doll and a Shanghai doll returned to Alice as they held pieces of paper with strange sigils on them. They gleefully gave Alice the paper as she examined it. “We’re looking for clues like this. . . magical drawn symbol that appears to be used for a spell. Not sure who could have created it, but this may be Elizabeth’s work.”

Alice glanced over to the rest of the scene as there wasn’t anything else noticeable at the site. Even the other dolls shook their heads as they looked back at Alice as they didn’t find anything else. Only the sense of dread of an ominous being that watched over them, but there was nothing to be found. “Well there isn’t much left around here, so let’s go back to the Hotel Sayaka.” Alice then looked back at Skylar. “Would you care for a cup of tea with us?”
