Any sort of offensive missile launch will definitely be detected, so trying to surprise us won't work.

Our ship was built taking into account that our enemies might be firing dozens to hundreds of extremely high yield warheads at relativistic velocities towards us. A bunch of old ICBMs are nothing in comparison.

The moon is 384,000 km away from Earth, the last time I checked. A Km is shorter than a mile by a pretty good deal.

I think at least part of the point of this RP is that taking over Earth is supposed to be difficult, and that, regardless of the speculated capabilities of nanobot plagues or universe-optimizing ASIs or relativistic kinetic kill vehicles, humanity's going to put up a better defense than expected.

Your ship is not closer to the Earth than the moon, thus your ship could not be be only 300,000 kms away.

I believe I stated in my post I was roughly around lunar orbit. I said it was at least 300,000 km away, which is right in this case.

Random Fact: Ensari Starfire Class Battlecarriers are essentially mobile fighter factories. Given the necessary resources, they can churn out hundreds of drone fighters out of their assembly lines in the middle of battle. Luckily, only the Lunaven remains of that class.

Still: even though the government will proudly boast that Elystimar kicked your ass and kicked it hard, it was only because we became Humans. The plucky little primitives you poked one too many times (piecemeal tech, anyone?). Nevertheless, the Ensari are seen as the boogeymen. The image of a moon ship moments before an entire subcontinent is reduced to slag burns deep within the collective mind of the Empire.

Try not to kill us, though I wouldn't put it past you.

Also, person who plays the Dyne, I assume our two factions would at least know of each others existence?

Yah, the Ensari are kind of fixing the mess their ancestors made and the crap that was stuck to the wall as that they are a dying race.

Now, I just wait for a response from the various alien factions.

The only winning move is not to play... Which is exactly what the Veselar are doing!

I must say, I look forward to the moment when someone identifies the Erel. I don't quite know what their reactions will be but I'm sure that they will be enjoyable in some way, shape or form. As of now, the Veselar get to just mind their own business, picking up rocks in the Kuiper Belt to collapse into a singularity - which, though efficient, isn't particularly fun to roleplay.

The only sane reaction to a GIANT HECKING PSIONIC CANNON is to either blow it the eff up, or run far and away from it.

Or turn it around so it fires harmlessly elsewhere.

Oh, a relativistic counter-cannon? Well, why didn't you say so?

Might be a little more problematic. I should really quantify the output of one Vesel's psionic power.

I'm pretty sure quantifying psionic power is, in and of itself, rather pointless.

The trouble is that I've already said that the Erel's systems, including its shield, are psionically-powered; I don't want to be able to just use 'psionics' as a get-out clause for everything that might do it serious harm.

*shrug*

I personally consider psionics as more equivalent to space magic than anything else. Pretty much why the exotic warpstuff of the Ascended is inimicable to psionics/psykers, because I can't be arsed dealing with Magic A and Magic B.

So egotistical. Why must you strive so hard to preserve yourselves when it means the needless suffering of so many others?
