Make that three. Once I actually come up with an interesting character concept, I'm definitely going to join. (I'm more experienced coming up with characters for fantasy/sci-fi/otherwise non-mundane RPs, and I'm finding "switching gears" to be difficult.)

RP's Overarching Concept: A group of half sisters attempt to free various worlds from a being of ambition (and likely restore themselves to rule).
Genre/s: Science Fantasy/Fantasy
Character or Faction Based: Character
Detailed Description: The players take on the role of a princess- an Imperial Princess- the daughter of an inter-dimensional Conqueror who created a vast Empire. Yet for all his ambition he was cursed early in his endeavors to never have a son. This curse was placed upon him so he would be the last of his dynasty as a way to 'curb' his ambition. Each character is the daughter of this Emperor and a soviergn from one of the various worlds he subjugated. As such they each have a claim to one of those worlds.

Yet something happened, and they where made to forget who they where and sent into hiding. The Empire that was has shattered and now a great warlord- one of their father's generals- is attempting to rebuild the Empire under him and in this time a servant of their father has come to them hoping to both unit the former Empire and keep it from the hands of this great general.

Need Help With: Putting the concept in better terms- clarifying what it is and perhaps making it something the players can really get into. Also on drafting a good OOC based on a refined version of the concept- something solid enough for players to merge right into. I'm including an early draft below.

Princess Sisters is a different concept then what I usually do here on NS. Born of an idea I had for a Visual Novel Princess Sisters is a RP where the players are technically half sisters- the daughter of the Emperor and one of the many Queens of the Expanse whose realms he conquered. But the Emperor was placed under a curse early in his conquests- a curse meant to 'curb' his ambition. He can never have a son- his dynasty dies with him and his death leaves the empire he built destined to be torn apart from with in- or so the witch hoped.

When the Emperor launched an invasion of Earth he fell- in what is considered the greatest embarrassment of the Empire. With his death the Empire shattered and his most trusted of servants took his daughters to the one place no one would expect them to be found- Earth.

Now, as a fierce warlord works to reunite the shattered Empire under his banner the servant has again been tasked - this time with collecting the sisters in hopes of countering this great evil... but what have they become during their time on Earth for they do not recall who they where? ... and even if they are made to remember- will they not simply turn on one another for only one may be Empress?

True Name: Kacela Dominarea (Dominarea being the Emperor's Surname)


Daughter of the Vampire Queen and the Great Emperor Kacela is a Dhampire possessing many of her mother's physical attributes but none of the Vampire weaknesses. In her old life she exhibited a stern yet loving connection with her fully human sister while having mixed feelings about her other siblings. She actually killed in that life; allowing herself to 'purge' her darker desires during the full moon. Her father turned a blind eye. She tried to impress him but his leniency on her actions was the only love he gave her.

After the failed invasion of Earth she like her siblings where smuggled into hostile territory - memory of who they where replaced with a simple unknowing. She awoke in the ruins of New York in the clothing of that world and set about looking for food- surviving on dog before being found by members of the NYPD- who knocked her out. She was sent to therapy for her amnesia, and odd behavior before finding her way into a foster family. Of this she can only insist that she hates dogs- her interest include European history, the Moon, Night Skies, and a form of larp in Vampire the Masqarade of which her foster family is presently barring her from partaking in due to her getting a bit too into character.

It is perhaps fortunate that the Servant has summoned her now. Where it not for the invasion being well known she'd be skeptical of the whole ordeal- of being called to this isolated shack to meet her sisters.

PS: I'm a little uneasy about this concept as it is again like nothing I've ever tried to host before. As you can see the draft is a mess so refining the whole concept is essential- like do the character really have to have forgotten or can we just have the RP them fighting a rebellion that overthrew their father? Also I apparently or at least feel I don't do villains that well- also apparently by some tests I'm Lawful Evil to a high degree so- that's also part of the issue (I'm more Lawful Neutral according the scores but still more on the evil side).

PSS: I was inspired by Klassic Mortal Kombat but with an interest in the lore rather then the more brutal aspects of the series... it's complicated I guess.

PSSS: Part of the challenge of hosting this RP is that I really want to play in the RP as a character- to take part in this type of adventure but I'd have to do that and host this and that tends to be a lot to handle.

It's difficult to balance being a player and a host- managing our foes.

While I'm not likely to join it (due to grip I have regarding Discord and my ill functioning headset) I will say that having the bulk of the In Character interaction off site doesn't work out very well and defeats the purpose of having it on NS in the first place.

That being said I like the idea of of the RP and realize that Discord is the best forum for an RP focused on verbal discourse and in that light find the use of NS for the documentation mentioned a brilliant idea.

The moderators should be people familiar with Discord, CK2, and a bit of European History- such as- for example- the English Civil War. I feel you can get the most inspiration for this RP by researching that conflict and I understand why it isn't being used (it'd put you under a lot of pressure regarding historical accuracy).

To further escape this burden I recommend a fantasy world be employed for the RP; one allowing for woman in power. This should draw in a crowd and be forgiving to you in regards to diminishing social burden upon yourself.

Thank you for the great advice! To allow for more creative liberties (for both myself and the players) I've considered using a "shattered kingdoms" mod. It would divide up the whole game map (ranging from Europe and North Africa to West Siberia and India) into larger, historical nations with their proper territory and vassals, but with fictional leaders from fictional houses. Historically-accurate events would still occur, but under different names and possibly in different nations.

sorry... I figured that if I entertained the notion that Mystery Bard isn't annoying that he'd stop because he'd think he's not bothering anyone and thus not getting any satisfaction from his actions.

He's been posting on my threads despite being retired from RPs. At first I thought he was just tagging the thread to read it (as he states he sticks around to read the RPs and I'm fine with that) but recently he's gotten a bit too... persistent.

Interesting choice.

It is as stated different then anything I've attempted before thus it's currently like a puzzle that's yet to be put together and has pieces for another puzzle in it confusing the build. It's made even odder for me in that I don't binge watch Anime- the last Anime I watched was in 2016 and I think it was Pokemon. This concept is more anime like then anything I've done before and that too concerns me as Japanese animation tends to make me uneasy. Putting it all together in a way that I can get into is a challenge because of my nerves- it's different, its a bit like anime, and I really don't have the villain solidified (as I don't play them very well apparently- I always tend to be too sympathetic in my portrayal and I don't want that with this- it's why I do better as a dark heroine. '~' There is also the issue of balancing portraying the villain and being one of the protagonist as I do want to play a character in the RP- rather then an obstacle like an antagonist- a part of the team.

I know that most characters I tend to play think of themselves as heroes but are actually villain like- yet somehow likable.

Detailed Description: The German empire is on it's last legs, the failure of the German navy to break the British blockade has lead to mass starvation and the failure of the 1918 Spring offensive to break up and divide allied forces has allowed time for the allied forces to attempt their own offensive and while it has been ultimately unsuccessful in bringing the war onto German soil it has caused massive casualties among German forces, leading many to wonder if Germany ever had a chance in the first place against the might of the entente. Although the German army still fights on, the German spirit has been utterly crushed, it can be heard in the trenches, in the streets, even the Reichstag itself, the demand for peace can be heard across the country, for if they do then they may at least spare their cities and fields from the grim reality of urban warfare.

There will be peace there is no doubt about that and it is likely to be one that ends up bringing the German nation to ruin, the only question is when the guns have been dropped, the trenches dismantled and whatever hideous treaty dreamed up by the allied nations has been signed, what comes next? That is for the generals, politicians and even the common working man to decide the ultimate fate of the German nation and it's people!

So I'm thinking of rebooting my gritty adult Avatar:The Last Airbender-world-setting RP. I'm mainly looking for people interested in a reboot but also ways to possibly make it better. Perhaps the implementation of more mechanics and structure than just free form narrative? I want to keep the setting focused on adult characters; war, diplomacy, intrigue, and character relationships; and have some faction based play but not to the point of it basically being a game of RISK. So perhaps ways to keep all of those things in balance and provide a general focus for people to roleplay towards?

Thoughts? Statements?
