Detailed Description: Decades of warnings and cautions by the most intellectually minded and ecological groups have been left unheard and mankind is now in the throes of an on-coming ice-age. Our story will focus less on nations and instead on a singular city where precautions were taken to ensure humanity would survive. Homes are kept insulated and the city's (admittedly ramshackle) shelter has helped it survive the earliest of the storms that have left countless millions dead or nomadic and struggling to survive. The autocratic rule of this city has ensured the 'castes' all have a role in ensuring everyone survives but how long will people endure the leash around their necks before a group cries out? Engimatic machines ensure that the homes of our new city are safe and warm, food is grown in greenhouses underground or otherwise out of the worst of the storms.

And what city are you thinking of? Depending on the city, the story might change (an industry-heavy city, or a city in the north, will have a different story from a financial capital, or a city in the south).

I was figuring a more industry heavy city, perhaps a revitalized Detroit where vast sums were spent to turn it into a 'city of the future' for a tinge of irony.

I love this idea. What ideologies do you have so far?

So far only a few, these are working titles so bear with me:

Order of the Engine(s): A pseudo-religious collective which are merging the ideas of "Noah's Ark" and the like to give praise to the industry keeping mankind alive. The age of machine has hit it's peak and god has given us the means to build a home where we can and must endure the hardships ahead, even if sacrifices must be made...possibly even into the furnaces of industry with our own bodies if need be.

The Union of Man: Representing left-leaning ideals, most importantly that we must shrug off personal luxuries to ensure all survive. They are at odds with both the Order and Watch who are giving too much stock in faith in the supernatural and giving too much privilege to folk who (admittedly) laid the groundwork. Instead the Union opt to try and ensure everyone has the bare minimum and seek to find ways to trade with other survivors for supplies we may lack.

The Watch: Representing the investors who uplifted our city to ensure it was ready for these hard times, it's security teams and those who oversee the businesses of our new home. They feel they deserve a better slice of life. After all they are the thin red line that keeps us from turning into animals in their own minds.

RP's Overarching Concept: USSR Political RP, reformed as the Union of Soviet Sovereign Republics
Title: Decision: Millenium. (Will the Communists keep the USSR red, or will a new banner spread across Russia? Only time will tell.)
Genre/s: Political
Character or Faction Based: Mixed
Detailed Description: It's the year 2000 in the USSR, and President Gorbachev announced last year he will be stepping down on New Years Eve. Gorbachev had largely held the Communist Party together for all these years, but with him out of the picture, what will happen? Will the hardliners retake the party, or will a more liberal, socialist approach win out. While the Communists work this out, stiff opposition from the Conservative Union Party, led by not-Putin, threatens to upend the system that had been in place since the perestroika. Players take control of a fictional character, first come first serve to lead the major factions. Players may create minor parties to compete, as well as Duma lawmakers. All history would be the same, other than the USSR surviving and increased tensions with China. All post-Gorbachev politicians are to be fictional, and you may app as surviving historical figures if you would like, without being fictionalized.

RP's Overarching Concept: AU taking place 7 years after Revenge of the Sith where long thought dead Jedi Master Mace Windu broadcasts a message across the galaxy, encouraging the people to rise up against the Empire and bring back freedom to the galaxy. This message provides inspiration to many Outer and Mid-Rim worlds, and many planets have overthrown their local Imperial governments in revolt, while another threat that hid for years now rears its ugly head once more.

Detailed Description:

Something secret steers us into directions unknown.

Benny Schultz is what one might call your typical working-class urbanite, stuck in one of the poorest parts of Chicago's underbelly, a place plagued by gang violence. It might seem that Benny will (or perhaps even naturally) live a life much similar to those around him: drugged, drunk, and possibly dead, had it not been for some of the weirded "dreams" he's even experienced in his life. A voice has been talking to him in his sleep, feeding him memories of someone he's never seen or heard of before. All Benny knows about the person, known simply as Jason according to the voice in his head, is that he is a young guy with a lot of combat experience who died while trying to defend his family, friends, and the communities around him from a hostile group of mercenaries.

"Learn from him, you're going to need it for the road ahead." the voice said.

It is July 1st, 2019, and Benny now oversees the continual growth of a homegrown organization know as the Civilian Front for the Protection of the Future, or more simply, the Civilian Front (CF). The Civilian Front, up until this point, has been assisting the impoverished areas of Chicago through humanitarian efforts. Food drives, soup kitchens, renovations of decrepit homes, healthcare drives, etc. These endeavors have garnered so much success and attention that Chicago's mayor even cited the Civilian Front as the "helping and genorous hand of Chicago's downtrodden". With this came exponential growth for the organization. But this wasn't enough for the voice that still permeated in Benny's dreams.

In secret, Benny slowly built up what would become known as the Military Department, a paramilitary branch of the Civilian Front, officially tasked with defending the poor communities of Chicago and the Humanitarian Department (the branch of the CF that manages humanitarian efforts) from the gangs that roamed the streets. At this point, the Military Department has grown to over 500 members, still a small percentage of the Humanitarian Department's 15,000, but a very good number to see for the rapidly growing new department. But Benny has a problem, the Military Department is still a complete secret to the rest of the members of the Civilian Front and Chicago at large, with very few exceptions. It is unknown just how everyone else will react if word got out that the CF now has a paramilitary wing, so Benny has to play his cards carefully.

The players of this RP will be making characters who are relatively new to the Civilian Front, choosing to serve in one of four departments:

Military Department
Humanitarian Department
Intelligence Department (serves to identify problems within Chicago that the Humanitarian Department can get involved in fixing. Will eventually serve the Military Department in identifying hostile threats and how to combat them)
Logistics Department (Deals with the finances of the organization and ensures that all other departments are properly maintained financially and logistically)

Players are allowed to make secondary characters that act as civilian bystanders that interact with the Civilian Front.

Tasks (known as "Operations") will be assigned (by the OP/s) to each department or group of departments for completion by the member's of such departments. Players will RP their role in these operations until completion.

The Humanitarian and Military departments have their own ranking structure and players may choose to ascend up the ranking structure through recommendations by their fellow peers, promotion by an officer, or promotion by the/an OP. Officer ranks are available, but only to those who have proven some dedication to the RP. Officers are selected by the OP(s).

Overall, there is much much more to this RP than what is contained above, many questions to be answered. But for the sake of taking baby steps, this first chapter of what will eventually become known as the Militarized Civilian Front (MCF) will constitute an entire RP thread. If the first chapter is successful interest wise, another RP thread will be created allowing players to take part in the second chapter of the MCF.

RP's Overarching Concept: Fighting back against a massive invasion led by an unknown enemy
Genre/s: Sci fi, Miltary
Character or Faction Based: Character
Detailed Description: The year is 2330, it has been ten years since a large war involving all but one of the five galactic powers. Humanity under the United System Coalition fighting along their alien allies and in the end humanity would be on the winning side. Harsh restrictions and reparations being placed on the losing side. With the leading nation on the losing side, the Ustan Union being restricted the most, and the sheer cost of the war and its murky reason caused the USC to become a neutral state. Still, there was peace through tensions between the aliens recently have risen. In response, the USC is conducting a series of military exercises to keep their forces' combat readiness up. Meanwhile, an unknown party is ready to launch an all-out assault on known space Which two different USC battalions must fight their way out of dodge and become vital in defending humanity from this onslaught and find a way to beat back the unknown party before humanity and the rest of the galaxy falls.

Good.
My idea was that all the (first generation) players start off on a planet (which I'd generate a map with something like donjon) and expand from there before they can develop space tech and colonise the other planets. Or maybe I should do it in a more typical style where we start off as spacefaring and then just go to different star systems.
