Could I get some advice on how to initiate a character rp that will interest others to be a part of it, and how to create a perpetual conflict or call to act which motivates players and also brings them together?

RP's Overarching Concept: I am thinking of using a musical group that goes from nation to nation, doing performances as a diplomatic programme.
Genre/s: Everyday life/Fantasy/Fashion
Character or Faction Based: Character?
Detailed Description: The concept is a little bit different from a typical RP. Unlike most RP, only one nation interacts with ours, and after a nation leaves it doesn't return for the rest of the RP.

Need Help With: How should I make it so it differs from stage to stage and nation to nation? I don't want it to feel to repetitive.

You know guys, I'm really starting to think that discord is a contributing factor to the decline of RP not just in P2TM but on NS as a whole. It essentially replaced OOC threads, which mean RPs attract less new participants as the OOC threads don't get bumped and then the IC threads suffer a slow death as players lose interest and nobody replaces them. Not to mention there's another issue where if a large group is active on a discord at one time and then a few people can't be active at that time due to time zones meaning they're asleep or at work/school, those people get to do all the planning while those who can't be on the discord when it's active get left out more or less.

Or... you maintain a strong and steady tempo that moves at the rate of Tectonic Shift. The juggernaut that is Elementals will never die, if only because it's normal posting speed is patently slow-cooked to perfection and coated in a heavy slather of sauce and originality with sprinkles of Eric on top.

I can say that this has been my experience as well. There are no fewer than three RPs that I decided against joining (or staying in) simply because I got the feeling of having things dictated to me by an invisible process over which I had no control.

If the world is already mostly built before I can do much as say a word in contribution to the worldbuilding, why would I be interested in the RP?

My Old West comedy Grand Theft Horse doesn't have Discord. We do everything OOC. We have fun... but I still wouldn't call us in the company of the best RPs. Maybe you guys think otherwise.
