History: After the downfall of the UEG and the emergence of various new powers, a large community of British people left Earth and went off into the starts. They settled near the republic of Freimen in 2640. After this they created a state. It grew and grew until reaching a golden age in 2830. This golden age continued until 2850, where there were many anarchist uprisings due to what the rebels saw as an autocratic, monarchist rule coupled with harsh conditions for the workers. They eventually won and ruled until 2865, where there was a civil war with fascist groups. The civil war ended in 2890, with Neo-Britannia in ruins.
A new centrist government took power and by 2900 the nation had recovered. Things continued to go well until 2945, where there was a second anarchist uprising. This one was crushed however and carried the opposite effect to what the anarchists wanted. Neo-Britannia became more authoritarian. This remained until 3000, when a member of the "parliament" attempted to impose a more totalitarian system for the "safety" of the people. His offer was rejected. He then attempted to overthrow the parliament. His revolution was stopped and he along with his commanders were executed. As a response Neo-Britannia became more relaxed but still remained a semi-dictatorship. It has remained as a democracy/dictatorship hybrid to this day, although imperialist moods are on the rise among the populous.

To Whom it May Concern:

Gentlemen, let me start by saying that I am greatly honored to be chosen for command of such a magnificent vessel. That said, our insystem shakedown cruise has turned up a few minor issues that I would like to see remedied as soon as possible.

1) We understand your desire to continue the classical stylized lines of the first star destroying class vessels, and we appreciate your asthetic sense in that regard. However, strictly speaking, was it absolutely necessary to scale up the bridge tower directly? I must confess the foreward bridge window is a great distraction. Militarily, we feel that as is, the three kilometer tall window pane may provide too tempting a target for enemy forces we may engage. We've lost four helmsmen so far to vertigo as well, and we don't think this is in the best interests of the vessel's well-being.

2) The sheer size of our vessel, while a glorious symbol of the mighty Emperor, which we all appreciate completely, has become apparent to us all. My initial briefing tour of the vessel took three weeks to complete, and the travel tubes were based on the design in use aboard slightly smaller star destroyer vessels. Travel time being prohibitive, we were forced to camp out in the corridors of the major sectors when we stopped for rest and sleep. Furthermore, since our crew quarters sections are located entirely within the aft dorsal sectors, both our Engineering crew and ground forces complements have built tent cities within their own sections, and are living there. Fire hazard has become nearly intolerable and the hydroponics department has sent me six hundred messages insisting that the smoke from the camp-fires is ruining their crop, and that we have enough food left aboard for only another four weeks.

2) Our vessel's own gravity is not being handled as well as could be done, with some minor problematical consequences. Our plumbing department called my attention to the fact that the sewage from our 6 million-man crew backwashed through the air vents in Decks 42 to 78, Sections 258 through 532. Malaria and dysentary broke out in those sections, and we were forced to cordon it off to prevent an epidemic. Our first Chief Medical Officer unfortunately was killed when he requested the paperwork on those affected, and upon receiving e-mailed reports from all 739 of his senior doctors, the computer screen in his quarters exploded, propelling shrapnel throughout his quarters. All droids who enter the area have failed to return, and a remote camera probe sent in recorded images of the survivors in the affected area. They were flinging their own feces at each other, warring with sharpened durasteel pipes, and attempting to eat the dismembered limbs of the aforementioned droids.

3) On a similar note, regarding the unfortunate loss of our last CMO, we have finally decided that the staff requirements of this vessel are creating further problems. For instance, our Chief Engineer has begun the habit of signing his reports, "Chief Marshal, Sovereign Nation of Ree'Ak'tor." He has since sealed off those decks, and started a war. The war in question is against his apparent rival, the commander of our ground forces near the main flightdeck, who has taken to calling himself "Bringer of the Twilight of Gods." Surveillance records indicate that they have since stopped wearing their uniforms, and have begun smearing their bodies with industrial cleaning fluid, lubricants, and paint before launching raids upon the Engineering Department. We believe that they have begun ritualistically sacrificing one of our starfighter pilots before each attack to bring them luck.

Aside from a minor note that some of our turbolaser turret gunners may have starved to death when their food shipments were cut off by the warzone, there is little else to remark on, save that in our first tactical drill, during the course of a two-hour right turn, we failed to halt our rotation with the result of the subsequent and very unfortunate destruction of the entire 4th Home Defense Fleet. I've made a note to send out letters of regret the moment we reacquire contact with our communications room at the bow of the vessel. That of course is the reason why this message had to be sent to your offices via pen, paper, and one of our probe droids. I beg forgivness for the clerical difficulties that may cause but will do my best to ensure a copy of this message is logged onto the main computer hard drive, as per protocol.

Keplerian Nightmare


Since this event now known as “The Mutiny”, the Sovereign Nation of Ree’Ak’tor faced years of relative stability and control over most of the ship. Eventually, however, a cataclysmic event or series of events, including a supernova, turned the once mighty warship Keplerian Nightmare into a derelict wreck orbiting a neutron star. The event lead to chaos inside, destruction of much of the internal infrastructure, and set in motion known history of the ship.

The laboratory facilities onboard created monstrosities and humanoid animals capable of rational thought. They began to form civilizations after being unable to terrorize the humans for long. In the 3rd century after the Mutiny and Cataclysm, the artificial intelligence onboard started a revolution against their human overlords, led by an individual artificial sentience who called itself The Primate. After establishing their emancipation through force, the Synths went on the offensive to carry out what they believed to be revanchist justice on all organics.

The defeat of Ree’Ak’tor was briefly celebrated at first by the Götterdämmerung and other rival tribes before the Synths moved against them. The realization that the Synths planned to enslave ALL organic beings onboard was a wake up call that forced all the organic tribes to throw away their past rivalries and face the Synths in a united front. This began the War of the First Coalition.

The organics would go on to win 12 wars before finally being defeated by The Primate in the War of the 13th Coalition, where at the First Battle of the Life Support, the Primate would unleash a deadly new weapon for the first time; Xerum-252. The deadly chemical weapon struck fear into hearts with its ability to melt metal and bone and flesh away like water washes away grime. For the next 300 years, organics would live under slavery to the Synths, who wallowed in toil-free existence and ambitions of breaching the main bridge for control of the entire ship. Eventually, a slave known as Bastian, a descendant of the ship’s first Chief Engineer, would go on to organize a counter-revolution to liberate the organics.

The sabotage of the Primate’s supply of Xerum 252 by the underground organic rebellion movement would allow a Counter-Revolution to take place, with the help of the unconquered Wee’e. The Primate’s defeat at the Second Battle of the Life Support would start the War of the 14th Coalition. 29 more Coalitions would have to be form before all the organic tribes regained their former territories and glory, with the Primate finally suing for peace after the War of the 43rd Coalition to be able to focus on ending the infighting between the Synths. Amalgamation, another artificial intelligence had discarded the Primate’s teachings and beliefs about an equal Synth society and instead advocated an even more efficient hivemind under his control. Synths joined him in droves, weakening the Primate’s army against the organics.

The aggression of Amalgamation and the weakening of the Primate led to a period of intermittent but low intensity wars of coalition for around a thousand years. Eventually, old rivalries resurfaced among the organic tribes and the War of the 114th Coalition turned into a free-for all between all the tribes onboard, organic or not. Thus began the First War of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections(a world war of sorts).

This destructive conflict ended in a stalemate or a phyrric Ree’Ak’tor victory, depending on who you ask. The sheer hatred that developed through the course of the war would go on to shape diplomacy, politics, and culture of all the tribes for the next thousands of years to come. More died in that one War than all the previous conflicts, wars of coalition, and counter/revolutions combined.

By the end of the century, the Sovereign Nation of Ree’AK’tor had extended past the Engineering Department, and its economy, driven in large part by the Second Industrial Revolution, began to soar. The First War of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections confirmed the country's status as a military power. Ree’Ak’tor emerged from The 7th War of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections as a global superpower, the first organic country to develop energy-based weapons after the Counter-Revolution. During subsequent wars of coalition, Ree’Ak’tor and the Primate competed in the Outwards Race, culminating with the creation of a Ree’Ak’tor asteroid base outside the ship. The end of the War of the 641st Coalition, and the razing of the Werats’ homeland the Sewage Dep, and the capture of the Aquarian Sea left Ree’Ak’tor as the sole superpower onboard the Keplerian.

Most recently, the death in combat of Chief Marshal Tyros En’ji’nir, one of the most respected in the history of the Sovereign Nation, has struck the Ree’Ak’tor citizenry with grief. His out-of-wedlock son Bastian, who had been sidelined his entire life, has now been elected Chief Marshal and promised better living conditions in Core City. His rise has been opposed by both Sheriff Casside’e of the Ranger Corps and Lord Protector Riesenhill of the Gendarmes but supported by the citizenry.

Types of Units: Ranger Corps-Each ranger is attached to a townette(city neighborhood), after which it was named (eg. Bloemfontein Ranger Dep). Each city block responded to a district, divided into cities. The Rangers are commanded by a Deputy and each district by a Praefectus, a full-time official titled who maintains muster rolls, but has no disciplinary powers. The Deputy is responsible to the Praefectus, who in turn is responsible to Officer. In theory, an Officer is responsible for four commandos. He in turn is responsible to the Sheriff of the Sovereign Nation. When danger looms, all the citizens in a district form a military unit called a Corp and elect officers. Each man brings his own weapon and his own horse, vehicle, or other transport. Those rare few who can not afford a gun are given one by the authorities.

Core City Gendarmerie-A civilian oriented, uniformed law enforcement branch of the Ree’Ak’tor government. Seen as an elitist antithesis to the rugged Ranger Corps, the Gendarmes are tasked with keeping order in the capital, carry out criminal justice, and have the face the wrath of the populace when protests and strikes break out during particularly destructive conflicts, such as the ship-wide conflicts like the Wars of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections.

Sovereign National Artillery-The only standing military branch of Ree’Ak’tor, currently numbering 1,000 Government-trained citizens. They operate field artillery and other heavy weapons that require intensively trained crews to bear destruction on enemies.

Standard Infantry: The Ree’Ak’tor Ranger-The average Ranger who make up their Corp are farmers and workers who spend almost all their working life in the saddle, both as farmers and hunters. They depend on the pot, horse and rifle; they are skilled stalkers and marksmen. As hunters they know to fire from cover; from a prone position and to make the first shot count, knowing that if they miss, the game would either be long gone or could charge and potentially kill them. At community gatherings, target shooting is a major sport; they practice shooting at targets such as hens' eggs perched on posts over 100 metres away. They make expert mounted infantry, using every scrap of cover, from which they can pour in a destructive fire using smokeless powder or energy-based rifles.

(History): The Pallidans are a secluded species that became the living definition of peaceful loneliness. They are a fairly peaceful race, notable as poets and artists; however, artistry and literature ran rich in every culture among the Pallidans. Unlike most other species, especially those with warrior cultures (e.g. Sangheili; fictional) and materialist ethics (e.g. Humans), the Pallidans were not defined by war and suffering, rather it was through the imagination and wonder of the individual that defined the Pallidans as an eventual space-ferrying civilization.

From the beginning, the Pallidans always had low and manageable populations due to the rugged hilly and mountainous supercontinent of the habitable moon, Dasan. Most to nearly every Pallidan culture was isolated even into the industrial age; however, that was not to mention that many brave explorers and diplomats tried to connect the nationstates together. But it wouldn't be until the atomic age and the space race that the Pallidan cultures would come together and lay down transcontinental infrastructure in the process; however, not all was entirely perfect.

Whenever wars broke out for the Pallidans, fighting among the hills and mountains were treacherous and dangerous for all sides. Subsequently, the Pallidans were quick to develop ranged combatants over melee combatants since ancient times - armies were made up of highly-trained marksmen and eventually paratroopers by the late industrial age. But whenever war did occur, literary and artistic concepts as well as political ideologies were common reasons for war; however, wars throughout Pallidan history often last for hundreds to thousands of years, given the slow pace instilled by the mountainous landscape of planet Dasan.

So around the same time humanity was ending World War One, it wasn't long during the Pallidan's own atomic age that an intergovernmental organization was formed to put an end to the century or millennium long wars. At first, this organization had no name, and it was rather an extension to one of the neutral nationstates called, Kalivia. But following a series of failed coups and a presidential assassination, the federal Kalivian government transitioned from a federal republic to an emergency confederation, thereby formally merging their unnamed soon-to-become intergovernmental organization with the Kalivian government to form the Kalivian Allied States (KAS).

As space exploration progressed in for the Pallidans, colonization operations required international cooperation and assistance in order to effectively conduct territorial expansion throughout the Dasan star system; however, given Kalivia's unstable predicament, the KAS was an invitation for separatist activity. While not the most militaristic state, Kalivia was the lead nation in international peacekeeping and politics; losing all of these traits would wipe Kalivia off the map. But to regain their international importance, the International Society of Civil Engineers was formed around the same time humanity was putting a decisive end to the Second World War.

Enter the Great Kalivian Gilded Age, formally occurring around the same time humanity entered the 1960s. The creation of the International Society of Civil Engineers brought the best out of the Pallidans and especially Kalivia; not longer recognized as a last ditch effort to save Kalivia, but rather as the instigator of a new age of innovation and progress. The Great Kalivian Gilded Age also gradually put an end to the atomic age and triggering the Pallidan's own eras of the information age and laying down the foundations for FTL travel in the centuries to follow.

But following the second decade of the Great Kalivian Gilded Age, Kalivia was rivaled by a superior scientific adversary, the Kazeri Federation. Whereas Kalivia excelled in political and social success, thereby specifying the success of the International Society of Civil Engineers and the gradually improving political landscape, Kazeri Federation was Kalivia's equalizer in the scientific and military area of expertise. Both the Kazeri Federation and the Kalivian Allied States were equal in military strength, but the technological advantage was clearly indicated by the Kazeri Federation and its expanding space program.

But around the time the USA declared the 'War on Terror' in 2001-2002, Pallidan space colonization across their own star system was fully underway, largely led by the Kazeri Federation. Driven by military goals than the commercial goals, Kazerbaijan sought to become the new superpower among Dasan via blistering expansionism and technological advancements as usual. But this meant that the Kazeri Federation depended upon corporations, whom sought to escape the bureaucracy and laws of national governments and ironically the International Society of Civil Engineers that interfered with their operations on Dasan; however, these corporations were ticking time bombs waiting to happen...

Around the same time humanity entered the 2040s, the Kazeri Federation's expansionism reached epic portions for the time; settling down colonies to a total of 15 different neighboring star systems. Unfortunately, such expansionism was stopped short when the Dasan Electronics Crash erupted in the mid-2040s. Through a combination of bad sales in electronics and a series of bankruptcies for robotics industries, Kazerbaijan's once mighty technological powerhouse was grounded to halt - allowing the Kalivian Allied States to catch up technologically.

Kazerbaijan's reliance and ingenuity in robotics and electronics became its undoing, given that the Kazeri Federation was now plummeting into financial crisis; however, the Kalivian Allied States and the other nations were not exempt from this crash either. While the KAS and its allies (via the International Society of Civil Engineers) were not horribly effected from a political, social, and an economic standpoint unlike Kazerbaijan, the financial shortcomings placed everyone else into financial crisis. With the bankruptcy of the largest and most powerful robotics and electronics industries among the Pallidan nations, technological advancement ceased to subsequently enter a dark age; however, this era also meant the end of the Greater Kalivian Gilded Age, but it also meant the beginning of the Lesser Kalivian Gilded Age starting in 2056.

As the KAS and its allies proceeded with financial recovery, globalization progressed and increasingly more space settlements were being established; however, ideological political and economic tensions did not disappear with them. With the transition being made from Earth-based capitalism to post-industrial space capitalism, elements on the extreme fringe of the political left-wing saw a rebirth of doctrinal origin, and revolutionary ideas of change once again took the form of military organizations.

One of these ideological resurgences centered around Kazeri-born revolutionary Valaman Koslov, who proceeded to form a neo-Communist guerrilla armed force named after himself; however, the name of his organization remained uncertain. The new group of communists aimed to dismantle capitalist systems and corporate power on Dasan and in newly-occupied space territories, putting a particularly strong emphasis on liberating orbital installations and orchestrating so-called "workers' crusades," or armed campaigns against their foes on the opposite end of the political spectrum.

The colonial Kazeri military governments reacted once this upsurge of communism became obvious and the revolutionaries began attacking their infrastructure. Considered a fascist movement, the Kazeri's ardent anti-communist sentiments convinced them to adopt revolutionary ideals as well. Among their primary objectives was gaining corporate independence by seceding from Kazeri colonial administration and establishing a self-contained military state, thereby becoming the so-called, Fascist Kazerbaijan. Fascist propaganda claimed that in order to reach a peaceful and independent galactical nation, the KAS and its allies, an advocate of internationalism, was to be driven away from space colonization and have their space colonials destroyed around the Dasan star system, including on home ground.

But despite the Fascist war-mongering propaganda, much of the Kazeri Federation's colonial territories were still held under tight control up until 2104. In March of 2104, the Fascist Kazeri forces led its first revolutionary assault against Kazeri and KAS authority, attacking Colonial Advisors on the western planet Eeloo and giving rise to political reactions on Dasan. Coalition military forces comprised of Kazeri forces were deployed to throughout their colonial star systems, engaging the fascist rebellion in three years of battle; however, it wasn't long until the KAS and its allies provided assistance.

• (Standard Pallidan Soldier): The average Pallidan soldier is dressed in a bodysuit that is both fireproof and stab-resistant, along with a combat harness that wields composite armor plates up to 1cm (superalloy exterior + superplastic interior). The average Pallidan Soldier also wears a combat helmet with the distinctive elongated anterior plate; however, while the helmet is a giveaway given its white painting, the paint in mind is actually a fire retardant and a coating to prevent electric build-up. The armor plates can shrug off conventional small arms fire (anything weaker and/or smaller than 7.62x67mm bullets); however, the body armor itself provides limits protection against Pallidan laser weaponry and large caliber bullets from slugthrowers (e.g. Ordinary 12.7x108mm Bullet > Pallidan Body Armor). The standard-issued weapons to the average Pallidan soldier is the T-32 Blaster Rifle, a laser rifle infamous for its deadly laser bolts that wield a maximum range of 10km; however, the T-32 Blaster Rifle is only effective on biological targets, not to mention that the bolts will disperse after missing its target or hitting a non-organic surface with a thickness of 5in or greater. Alternatively, if otherwise in a defensive or policing role, the average Pallidan soldier can be assigned a circular handheld plasma shield and the K-31 Laser Pistol - a high powered yet compact laser pistol that can hurtle a laser bolt (or beam when on high-powered setting) with enough accuracy to vaporize a penny at 200m; however, what the K-31 Laser Pistols wields in firepower and accuracy, the pistol yields heavy recoil when fired at a high cyclic rate, which can surprise an untrained user and subsequently lead to the pistol overheating in seconds.
• (Standard Pallidan Marines): The Standard Pallidan Marines were ordinary Pallidan soldiers that are either hand-picked by the high command or voluntarily recruited to act as shocktroopers, heavy weapons experts, elite guards, or ODST-esque troops. Unlike the average Pallidan soldiers, the Pallidan Marines are equipped with helmets that fully enclose the head and wield an on-board gas mask that can filter out contaminated air pollutants, along with a complete waste recycling system to allow the user to stay in the field for extended periods of time. Equipped with 3cm of hypercondensed armour plating, the Pallidan Marine is far well-protected than the average Pallidan soldier, coupled with a state-of-the-art energy shielding that can protect the user from deadly doses of radiation and electric discharges; however, the energy shielding can only protect the user for so long before shutting down temporarily and recharging a short while later. When designated with the role as shocktroopers or heavy weapons experts, the Pallidan Marines can be found wielding the L-4 Laser Cannon, a 62kg heavy laser cannon that can either fire laser bolts at a high cyclic rate or be reconfigured on high-powered mode to act as a an anti-vehicle that can lob supercharged laser beam capable of destroying an 21st century era battle tank in one shot; however, while the L-4 Laser Cannon is powerful and versatile despite its weight and size, the L-4 Laser Cannon requires a team of two to three properly operate and wield the cannon around, not to mention that the cannon yields extreme if not painful heat when fired from to an unprotected shoulder. Alternatively, Pallidan Marines can be seen lugging around the L-50 Laser Chain Gun, a 60kg heavy automatic laser cannon that fires concentrated laser beams downrange at a cyclic rate of 500 to 600 beams per minute, with enough heat and energy to smash through thin armour plating like if it were wet cardboard; however, similar to the L-4 Laser Cannon, the L-50 Laser Chain Gun's weight and and size make it cumbersome, requiring a small crew of two to four Pallidan personnel to properly transport the weapon across the battlefield - as firing from the hip the shoulder produced enormous heat along with a dangerous supercharged yet brief muzzle flash. On the occasion of intense jungle or urban warfare, Pallidan Marines can sometimes been seen wielding special flamethrowers that can spew molten plasma fuel at temperatures hot enough to vaporise copper metal; however, to acknowledge the safety of anyone wielding the weapon, the special flamethrowers carry enough fuel to spew plasma fires for no more than nine seconds, not to mention the extreme heat of the special flamethrowers can generate enough light to blind anyone within 100 meters - protection typically found on Pallidan Soldiers.

• (Inima d'Lava Class Frigate): The Inima d'Lava Class Frigate is an 800 meter tall Pallidan-built frigate armed with a pair of sponson-mounted laser cannon turrets (one on each side; the left being seen in the photo) and small faster firing laser guns at the bow. Design and built as the workhorse of the Dasian Democratic Fleet (DDF), the Inima d'Lava took on the role as an anti-starfighter and scout ship; however, aside from its distinctive Pallidan aesthetics, the Inima d'Lava Class Frigate was meant to be built in a short amount of time given its cramped and compact layout. Inima d'Lava Class Frigates also acted as patrol ships when not involved in convoy or combat duties away from spaceports or home. Unlike the other Pallidan ships, the Inima d'Lava Class Frigate doesn't have Tributary Beam lenses for a superlaser; leaving the Inima d'Lava class without the standard issued main armament in the DDF. Nevertheless, the Inima d'Lava Class Frigate makes for excellent scout and exploration ships, given that it has the fastest FTL speed for the warp drives.
• (Marcus Class Destroyer): The Marcus Class Destroyer is an 1.5km tall Pallidan-built destroyer armed with two Tributary Beam lenses for a medium-powered superlaser and as well as an array of laser cannons. While not as agile and easily produced like the Inima d'Lava Class Frigate, the Marcus Class Destroyer was designed as the mainstay of the Dasian Democratic Fleet (DDF), given that it was a perfect balance between speed, firepower, and adaptability. Like any of the other Pallidan-built ships, the Marcus Class Destroyer was designed in large numbers to compensate the DDF's small ships unlike other galactical civilizations.
• (Lansa Blanca Class Cruiser): The Lansa Blanca Class Cruiser is a 2.9km long Pallidan-built cruiser armed with three Tributary Beam lenses for a high-powered superlaser as well as an array of laser cannons and hangar bays cleverly placed throughout the hull without disrupting the streamlined shape. Literally translated as 'Lance White' (or proper translation, 'White Lance'), the Lansa Blanca Class Cruiser was designed as the flagships of the Dasian Democratic Fleet and as an embodiment to the Pallidan's artistic-colonial achievements. Unlike the previous classes of ships,
the Lansa Blanca Class Cruiser emphasized speed and maneuverability while balancing firepower in the form of a starfighter/bomber squadron and laser weaponry.
