Traffic was a nightmare in the city, it wasn't unusual, but most of the city looked in gridlock. The cafes, the restaurants and parks looked all but deserted. Anybody that could make the trip was heading towards the capital square. Upon a platform, and surrounded by security, stood a confident Terryson. The entire of the nation was either gathered in the crowd or tuned in on the radio. Everybody knew what the speech would be about, they were just waiting for the justification. The National anthem "Banner Of Hope" started playing and upon its ending the crowd fell silent. Terryson leaned in and adjusted the microphone and shuffled what seemed like a novels worth of pages.

"Your attention please," he began. "As you are all well aware our empire has been on the decline since the loss of Resthpont or as it likes to call itself 'Iceland'" Iceland had been independent from the Ifalt Empire since 1928 but many in Iceland consider themselves Ifalt. He coughed a wheezy smokers' cough and began to continue. "Now this little runaway state is interfering with our affairs and trying hopelessly to ride on the backs of the Anglo-Sphere. Well I say no longer!" The crowd began to cheer but were quickly interrupted by Terryson. "We must reclaim Resthpont if the world is to take us seriously, as we speak our forces are on their way to the rouge island. A formal deceleration of war was announced this morning as you all know. Now it is a matter of time until we reclaim our land." There was a pause. "Failure is not an option..."

There was loud cheering and thunderous applause. This meant one thing at least, Ifaltannia was officially at war with the Rouge-State of Iceland.

Telegram to the Swedish-Finnish Empire

Greetings to whom this may concern. As of this moment our armed forces are getting ready for the naval invasion of south of Iceland/Resthpont. While we predict that this will be a cake-walk, we are concerned that the Danish could involve their selves with our rightful reconquest of Resthpont. The Danish have sworn to protect this rouge state, stupidly.

I believe we both have an enemy in the Danish. Your nation has the grand goal of re-unifying Scandinavia under one banner. After you have dealt with the Norwegians, the Danish are the only ones standing in the way of your ambition. For this reason I would like to suggest a mutual defensive pact. This pact would honour bind us both to fight against the Danish if they decide to start a war against either of our great states. On top of this, while optional, it could also help to sign a non-aggression pact to further improve relation.

The Battle Of Reykjavik & Danish Intervention

Internation News (Unbaised Opinion)

After a beachhead was set up in south Iceland/Restpont, Ifalt troops began the long march to Reykjavik. Due to the lack of garrisoned troops on the island, the only opposition Ifalt troops faced were resistance fighters. With the Capital of Resthpont under Ifalt control again the Icelandic autonomous government has collapsed. With minimal casualties, the Dominion Of Resthpont has been proclaimed by Ifaltannia. However, Denmark has now declared the occupation illegal and have issued an official declaration of war.

Regardless, this victory has many Ifalts celebrating and New Prime Minister, Terryson's popularity has skyrocketed.

Slowly, Serbian T-26s and trucks bearing artillery roll across the border of Balkograd and Greece near the Adriatic Coast. Soldiers accompanying the the trucks start chanting "Smrt Grcima!" (Death to the Greeks!). The T-26 cannons fire shots at Greek buildings, artillery is placed up in hills for later use, and soldier loot stores and take prisoners. After 3 hours of pillaging, trucks carry prisoners back to military workhouses, tanks and soldiers guard the remains of the town, and survivors flee.

The Fat Scorpion said to Emperor Gao, the Emperor stroking his beard for a few minutes before dismissing the Fat Scorpion, the Imperial Scribe entering the room. "The diplomats in Berlin are to negotiate a trade agreement the Germans cannot reject: Opium for Panzers, Tea for Aircraft." Emperor Gao said to the Imperial Scribe before dismissing him.

"See, these are the days where I wish I'd polished my language skills in school" Joked Olaf to his second in command.

"Good day men!" The commander salutes the men and the men to the commander. "Lovely, as you may of heard, the Danish are resisting your nations rightful ambition of a unified Scandinavia. They seek to expand their power and have attacked Ifaltannia. As such our nations are united in taking this menace down. That's where you lads come in. While Ifaltannia's armies are currently unable to reach Denmark due to, let's say technical difficulties, we will be marching to Copenhagen in order to fight this resistance to a unified Scandinavia."

"I will further breif you on your orders when we reach the straits between Denmark and Sweden, but allow me to just say this. All we need to do is occupy Copenhagen and its surrounding islands. The Danish have little to no resources on the Jutland peninsular and the fight from then on out should be a pillow versus a shotgun. Let's get a move on then shall we!?" The men start to cheer.

"I'd say that was a good speech considering it isn't your first language, sir" The second in command said. "Yea, could of gone worse"...

Oresund, Sweden/Denmark

The volunteer force was now nearing the strait between Sweden and Sjaelland Island, Olaf Kertson had given the force simple instructions that would be expanded by each units field marshal.The Pilots would be joined by 10 Ifalt Fighters and 5 Ifalt Bombers in order to damage defences and AA's/AT's as much as possible before a crossing is to be attempted. Ifalt provided transports would then ferry Infantry and Armour across the strait where the would land north of Copenhagen City. From there a second bombing run would occur on the outskirts on the city. This would limit civilian casualties while destroying as much armour outside the City. With the already small Danish army being massively reduced in number a surrender would be expected from the city. If not the by-then small garrison would be little opposition to taking the city.

This battle, if successful would leave the Danish hopeless due to most of its force being killed or captured.This would hopefully lead to a decisive victory and perhaps an early victory to the war. Olaf was getting ahead of himself. The force still had to wait for the extra aerial support to arrive...

Olaf's plan was going by the letter. With the bombing run complete his second in command had identified an ideal beachhead. However he wasn't as confident as he had been at the start of the plan. "I fear, dear friend, that upon landing, these brave men will be turned to dust. I fear that the north outskirts are more armed than i had thought originally." He was interrupted by his second in command."Sir, should we look for a beachhead in the south instead?" "Not yet lad, order a bombing run across the entire city." The second in command was in shock. "Sir, surely n-" "Did I stutter?" Olaf seemed unphased by what he was about to order. "Yes sir, it shall be done."

Two hours had passed and the city looked a shell of its former self. Olaf had proved himself correct however. The majority of the Danish Armour was stationed inside the city as makeshift AA's and Corner deathtraps in urban combat. The volunteer force now just had to take what was left of the city. As the troops pushed through the city, they suffered large amount of casualties. A force thats absolutely dwarfed by the volunteer force had done a considerable amount of damage. Olaf's plan while grand and successful had taken it's toll. The centre of the city hadn't been too damaged but the outskirts were a ruin. Atop the capital building a Swedish-Finnish flag was raised. Most of the Danish leadership was still inside and surrendered to the Forces. Soon, the leadership of Denmark would formally surrender leading the government no other choice...

OOC: The Danish at this point in time had only ~12,000-20,000 Active soldiers in their armed forces. They've just lost a rather large chunk of that and Sweden-Finland's volunteer force alone drwarfs their army. They've lost their capital city, and main island aswell as all their overseas territories. Plus they've seen the lengths that Commander Olaf will go to to assert victory. I doubt they would.
