Cobblestone streets bustled with the daily business of the Arushan Cityfolk, News Papers were written about tensions increasing in Asia and Europe, Factories churned around the city producing everything from raw steel to luxury African fur clothes. Taxis zoomed around the city streets, many old Model Ts bought from america at cheap prices in the early 1930s. Trolleys zipped around on iron tracks dug into the cobblestone roads. But the real business of the city lied as its duty as the Capital of the nation. The first modern african nation, a beacon of hope for colonized africans, a struggle shared by their Asians brothers and sisters. African Culture had been mixed into the culture of roaring twenties america, women wore flapper dresses with african patterns, and men wore harlem style suits showing how far the people had come. In the center of the cities business was the Arusha Clocktower, a sign of european friendship with the Africans, it was designed by the english immigrants from the civil war in the 1650s, built in the image of Torre del Mangia in Sienna, Italy and standing around 94 meters tall.

Surrounding this tower was the government buildings, the largest of which was the Arusha Council Chambers where the Tribunal of Tanzanya met, a unicameral legislature with 143 members. The head of this legislature was the King of Tanzanya, the king was a hereditary position, passed down along the M'tetwe dynsaty, a product of the mixture of the three royal families of the Triumvirate nations of old. The King was also the head of the executive Ministries, created in 1820 to mimick the British Government, the different ministries circulate around the major issue areas of the nations such as Education, Mining, Agriculture, and War. The Great Tribunal was in full debate for the past several days over the issue of the Asian Affairs, unable to decide the tribunal was split between the Isolationists who wanted to stay out of politics and only engage in trade, their power in the 1920s had kept them out of the effects of the Great Depression, negotiating purely with trade relationships in the past decade. However, the other faction had been growing for a while, the Interventionists, a union of factions, namley the Nationalists, and Imperialists, who believed in intervening on the side of Germany and Japan, Doing so would give the Tanzanyans a reason to take the rest of the Ugandan and Rwandan Regions, both very rich in Oil and Copper, as well as featuring good crop climates. They also determined that joining in the war would strengthen ties with Axis Countries and probably lead to more weapons and supply contracts, they would also have reason to expand their power to many islands in the Indian Ocean, namely Reunion, Mauritius, the Seychelles, and the Comoros, all with good tropical climates and great locations for ports. Debates ceased to stop however as the debate ravages on the population begins to side, and many want to exercise the new power of this nation and flex the strength of the African Peoples.

Meanwhile, the King, T'Kala M'tetwe, ordered the modernization of the navy and met with his admirals in secret to discuss the prospects of new ships and refurnishing the current. One thing could be sure, the people were forming opinions, politicians taking sides, and decisions being made. Decisions that would have reprucisions for a long time.

seperate piles of paperwork ten to twenty pieces of paper thick each. He had been in his position since seven in the
morning and was expected by German law to remain in this position until six at night. His hair was frizzled, beard
stubbled, and eyes baggy, all the qualities of the most perfectly over-exerted laborer. His industrious trance was broken
when his energetic footman, Jan Nadel, came running in holding a stapled, threefold collection of papers.

Van Brawn: "Ehh? Oh, Nadel. Hallo."
Nadel handed the Chancellor the papers, and the Chancellor skimmed over them.

Trust me, they'll find a way to traverse Eurasia to bombard Germania.

The Resignation Of The Prime Minister

"We interrupt our regular broadcast to bring you shocking news from the Royal Parliamentary House. For the first time in Ifalt History, a Prime Minister has resigned. Rindalf Erikson has left his position as leader of the Traditionalist Party Of Ifaltannia. In a public statement from the Party earlier today, Erikson left the post due to stress and personal matters. However, many skeptics claim that his Party has lost faith in him and pressured him in to resigning. This comes just hours after Erikson declined to comment if he has plans to improve relations with the Germans during his passionate speech in the House. The Party have wished him well on his departure from the post which he had only held since 1936.

His successor has already been announced by the Party, Rikard Terryson. Terryson is known to have a higher opinion of Germany than his predecessor. However, some worry that his anti Anglosphere stance could revive some of the old grudges against Canada and it's close knit partner America. Terryson is due to be royally appointed Prime Minister by Queen Ethel I Of House Bearn this evening. This will officially place him in the role. Terryson has already stated that when he is appointed he intends to continue to push the military armament and co-operate with the Centralist Party in order to pass a Pro-German foreign relations bill."

It would be a cold winter day, as New Years was coming up, the Square was hustle and bustle, with civilians roaming around getting gifts for relatives for New years. Some reserve soldiers and wounded soldiers would be in the square, all cheerful, being away from the Central Asian theatre.
and there would be a small setup, where some people stopped to see what was happening. A Russian Commissar stepped onto a box and proceeded to give a speech to the Russian people, this speech would be recorded and broadcasted throughout the nation. "Russian People! It has been a great year for the Republic and the Motherland's allies, although not much for the Soviets." the Commissar would begin to say. Some chuckles come from the Audience. "But, next shall be better for all of us! happy 1939 new year! let 1940 be another great year!" The Commissar would finish, and just as he finished up his speech, it began to snow. "God save the republic." The Commissar would say as he jumped off the crate and proceeded to stack them up in a Military truck. Children came out from their apartments and began to cheer and try to eat the snowflakes, their parents would join them. The President would observe this all from a Government building right on the Square. He would smile on how happy the Russian populous was.

A Newscaster would sit at a desk and look at some papers and begin to speak to the Microphone, "Good Evening, People of the Russian Republic and citizens of the world, As we all know, New Year is coming up, and everyone is busy, just like every year," He'd start. "But, today, we have a wish of a good New year from the President of the Russian Republic, we shall play the sound now." The Newscaster would say. it would then play the president of the Russian Republic, speaking. "We are on the threshold of a New Year, year 1940. Although we celebrate this every year, we are always happy to usher the year in as something new, hoping that the wishes we make at the stroke of midnight do come true. New Year’s Eve is above all a family celebration. We mark it just as we did when we were children, with presents and pleasant surprises, as well as with a special warmth and expectation for change. Change will certainly come to our lives if each of us takes care of our parents and values every minute we spend with them, if we try to better understand our children and their aspirations and dreams, and if we support those nearest to us who need our help and our generosity. United Federation of America Begins Emergency Military Construction Program

Shipyards across the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico have become a recent hub of economic activity in the wake of multiple shipbuilding orders made at the behest of the government of the United Federation. The sudden burst of activity is motivated by the government's recent stance of aggressive neutrality, with the Navy and Coast Guard preparing to defend the peace, prosperity, and integrity of the waters of the United Federation. The Secretary of the Navy has been in and out of meetings all week long as building contracts are signed and bidding by contractors are weighed and compared.

Chancellor Von Brawn was sitting in a stuffed cotton armchair in the sitting room of his residence, Kransberg Castle. A warm, crackling fire fathered the ambient light and noise of the room, which was a neoclassical styled, wooden-interiored, wide, long, and high-ceiling room that boasted Germany’s architectural prowess.
From the small doorway in the grandiose room three uniformed men entered, the one in the front was carrying a file which contained five pieces of paper, two of which were bound by a staple.
Van Brawn: That must be my New Years speech?
Obersturmführer Finch, handing the papers to the Chancellor: Ja, Eure Exzellenz.
Van Brawn: Hmm....eloquent enough, who penned this?
Obersturmführer Finch: Propogandaminister Anatol Seppelt.
Van Brawn: The penmanship should’ve made that obvious. Well, no time to waste. Get the radio in here and let me begin reciting this.
Obersturmführer Finch and his two adjutants left and returned two minutes later with a radio which was hinged to a rolling cart. A speaker was placed in front of it, a panel to put the speech on was also present, and the radio was attached to an outlet which attached it to a radio tower outside which then connected to the entire Reich and world.
Van Brawn: My fellow Germans, the end of the year is upon us and I call upon every man, woman, and child of Germany to come together, exclaim in joy over that and look at all we have accomplished in this year! I shall tell you that is a lot! We have consolidated more power, more finances, more superiority, and more splendid future for our progeny! We have pathed yet another path, as we have since our re-glorification when the PODV seized control of the pitiful and shattered Reichstag! We have completed the Autobahn, and in the process gave over a hundred thousand previously unskilled and underfunded German laborers a renewed chance at industrial glory! Countless Reichmarks have flooded Germany due to our better-off-than-under-the-Weimar-Republic economy! This money has originated in superior German exports, foreign investment, a much greater rate of industrialization and industrial output, and our tripled-in-size workforce! In a few days, when the clock hands pass over the twelve and around the world it has been made official that it is 1940 we shall grab our briefcases, pickaxes, saws, or whatever utility we use for our job, go to our workplace, and make the world awe again, like last year and the years before, in our laboriousness! A few hundred Germans had gathered at the gates of the estate to be close to their Chancellor while he made his speech and, once he finished, let out a jubilant cry greater than any other such cry in history. The Chancellor was at first surprised, then laughed.
Van Brawn: Remind me to give Seppelt a damn medal for this speech! I was moved by it too!
Obersturmführer Finch: I was aroused.

The Passing Of 'The New Age Foreign Diplomacy' Bill

"Earlier this morning the new Prime Minister, Terryson, has announced the 'NAFD' Bill has passed the Royal Parliamentary House 89-79. The Bill, which was first proposed by Erikson who recently resigned, states that Ifaltannia will move it's diplomatic focus away from the Anglo-Sphere towards our Germanic Brothers. The staffing in the Ifalt Embassy in Canada has been drastically reduced in order to further staff the expanding embassies in Germay and it's ally of Poland.

The president of Balkograd,Ivan Serik, calls in a general, General Boris Domonavich. "What is wrong president? Is there some sort of threat?" [The Imperial Warglorian Empire]

Stockholm, Finnish-Swedish Empire
The busy city of Stockholm was in full action, citizens were walking to their jobs to further empower the Empire, police patrolled the sidewalks to put down any rogue criminal and Communist, and cars were bustling down the road. In front of the Riksdagen, the main political hall of the Empire, a large crowd of people waited with anticipation. A large platform stood in front of the building, guarded by several soldiers from the Nationalistiska Väpnade Styrkor (NVS) The Armed Forces of the Empire. Suddenly, a figure in a dark blue suit, flanked by a man wearing a Swedish Officer uniform and another also in a suit with the party's symbol on his arm. As he approached the microphones that had been placed before, the crowd started cheering with thundering voices. This was Per Engdahl, Riksledare of both the Finnish-Swedish Empire and the Swedish New Empire Party (Fascism). He was flanked by Sven Olov Lindholm, General and Defence Minister of the NVS, as well as Birger Furugard, Riksminister of the Empire and leader of the Swedish Nordic Supremacy Party (Nationalist Socialism).

Engdahl raised his hand for silence, and as the crowd became quiet, he spoke. "Many years ago, I remember when our glorious Empire was divided, weak and controlled by a corrupt regime, whose only loyalty belonged to themselves, and not to the people," Engdahl said. "Back then, our nations were pathetic, able to be bullied by even the most worthless of neighbours, but now look at us, we have risen far since then! We have created a New United Empire! A powerful Empire! One that has risen to become a rising power in Europe! And soon perhaps the most powerful in the North!" The people proceeded to cheer loudly once more, celebrating the words of their leader about their now glorious nation. "However!" Engdahl continued. "Not every one of our brothers was able to live to see this new power, as they died in the name of our ideology and our cause, and their sacrifice helped build the foundations of what we have achieved today!"

"And even now, many of our brothers outside of our borders have not been able to afford the same glory and prosperity we have established here! To the north! Our brothers in Norway fight a daily conflict against the oppressive Regime of Haakon!" Engdahl exclaimed loudly, the crowd continuing to cheer at his words. "And to our South! Denmark! Those who we once called masters, but broke from their shackles many centuries ago, now masters over and crushes those who would attempt to bring a new golden age to them! We cannot let this stand, for even now, our comrades in arms cry for our help! To liberate them from these tyrants who would call themselves leaders! And I say it is now time that we helped them break from their shackles! From their masters! And after we have saved them, let us greet them with open arms!"

The crowd cheered even louder, now shouting out the national salute of "Seger Hagel!" as Engdahl also saluted along with them. The Empire was ready for war, and now it was demanding blood.

Next Day, Early in the Morning, Imperial-Norwegian Border
As the dawn appeared over the horizon, Operation Nordlig Enhet was put into action, as NVS soldiers rushed across the border. Pansarbil m/39s, Stridsvagn m/31s, and Stridsvagn L-60s drove quickly, with the infantry behind them. This was the beginning of the Invasion of Norway, the Casus Beli being sightings of Norwegian troops on the border seemingly in preparation to attack, Norwegian spies, being allegedly caught attempting to sabotage key military bases, and a rumoured border skirmish in which Norwegian Troops attacked a radio station on the border. In truth, however, this invasion had been under preparation for several months now, catching the Norwegians off guard.

In the first few hours, NVS troops would rush and capture the vital Norwegin ports of Trondheim, Narvik and Kirkesnes, meeting minimal resistance. This quick moving movement would encircle Norwegian units based in their northern territories. A few hours later, the Norwegian ports of Trosmo and Hammerfest were put under siege, as bombardments and airforce strikes started to pummel the defenders and warships there. As these different ports were secured and occupied, NVS Units in the North proceeded to concentrate downwards, towards the Norwegian core cities, while at the same time NVS Units positioned by the main border would also start attacking, effectively cornering Norway into a corner and attacking from two sides. This would be the beginning of the end for Norway.

OOC: It takes only about 2 hours maximum to drive from the Swedish Border to Narvik or Trondenheim. I have also researched into Norway's military forces during ww2, and they had only about 100,000 Soldiers which was meant more for defending their neutrality rather then a full all out war. Norway also didn't really have any tanks: the first tank that Norway ever got was in 1936 from Sweden, and at the same time they were unable to produce many of them. The fact that Norway was weakened from that Great Depression I said hit Scandinavia harder than usual would make their state worse.
