THE VAST AND EMPTY SKY - a Rupudska, Madhouse & Pub RP
"A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless." - John Steinbeck
Image
A battle in the Mother-of-Pearl Nebula between Cyanian Empire ships of the First Fleet (pictured) and the Vossonian Sixth Squadron. The ship in the foreground is the flagship HMS Dreadnought of the selfsame class, the remainders are the more common Arcadia-class battleships. All ships pictured barring the one currently exploding survived the battle.

It is the year 3616, and it is an uncertain time in the galaxy's history we find ourselves. Three hundred and fifty years have passed since war ravaged it, and tensions once again are on the rise. The Cyanian Empire, born of the ashes of the slain, ancient Rheim Imperium and her allies and Man's great kingdoms and their allies, stood unopposed in the galaxy for more than half of those long years, leaving it free to expand and explore the Milky Way galaxy as it pleased. Even as its sheer size outstripped the pace of even the fastest messenger drones, even as its outer reaches resorted to a sort of feudalistic existence, the whole of the Cyanian Empire prospered, and people were free to travel the width and breadth of the cosmos.

No longer. The allies of Rheim may be either subjugated or crushed, but new enemies are on the rise for the Cyanian Empire. Far to the galactic north, in the outer reaches of the Scutum-Centaurus Arm, a reptilian threat looms: the Cipaqoaltus Federation, a conglomerate of sapient reptilian petty kingdoms, republics, and nation-states that uplift any reptilian species with a hint of intelligence and draw them into their ranks with propaganda, while simultaneously halting (or even reversing) the development of 'inferior' mammalian species, a stark contrast to the Empire's welcoming of all species willing to pay fealty. The Federation claims its democratic nature prevents the abuses of power and internal squabbling that the Empire has due to its feudalistic nature, but this is blatant propaganda. Their ships show little mercy to avian races and far less to mammalian ones.

And to the northeast, at the edges of the Perseus Arm, the Tarkellian Horde awaits any who dare enter the outer Perseus. A hive-mind headed by a telekinetic molluscoid race, they are more than willing to allow other species in - so long as they are willing to join the hive mind as its lesser members... or its slaves. What members of the Horde that maintain their sapience express a shamelessly unhidden sense of superiority - the Tarkellian homeworld took a scant eighty million years to make the leap from eukaryotic life to the spacefaring Tarkellians. The Tarkellian's telekinesis renders their natural sluggishness moot, as does the legged battlepods they use in combat. Not that many live long enough to be boarded - their ships are massive and never fight alone, and if they are provoked to attacking they prefer to destroy from long range.

None of the three powers are willing to share the galaxy with each other, but for the moment, none are willing to come to open war over the galaxy, either. So now the Milky Way holds its collective breath (or species equivalent), as demarcation lines, demilitarized zones, and terrae nullius spread across the galaxy like cracks in a window. The largest of these is the Great Void, a scar left behind by the Rheiman collapse. It snakes between the Scutum and Norma Arms before swelling up to cover the whole of the volatile Galactic Bar before diving under the galactic plane and continuing out to the edge of the galaxy following the Outer Arm south. No great power claims dominion over this or any other void, and lawlessness and debauchery abound. Some planets are run by organized crime, some by openly oppressive despots, some just by plain-old savages and primitives.

It is here, at the northern reaches of the Great Void some eighty thousand light years (and a few year's travel) from Sol, you find yourself on the dry, almost Martian Thrawn B7, a moon of the gas giant Thrawn B of the system Thrawn of the sector Thrawn. A lonely but nonetheless habitable world, the insectoid Thrawnians have three qualities that aid them well in the grey areas where law and lawlessness freely intermingle - They are welcoming, they are strong, and they are very good at looking the other way. The powers-that-be appreciate this, and like many such words they rarely bother the Thrawnian government, treating the entire planet as a sort of 'neutral ground' between the 'real' nations of the galaxy.

This is beneficial to you, a mercenary, for a number of reasons. Maybe you want to relax away from prying eyes. Maybe you want to live it up on the numerous orbital stations, famed for parsecs around for their lively activities, not all of them licit. Maybe you got your hand caught in the proverbial cookie jar (or came dangerously close) and are on Thrawn B7 just to lay low.

But that's not the reason you've come to this specific cargo space port town, Jinbe, on Thrawn B7. For some reason or another, you have drawn the attention of the Empire, and that is not the strangest part of the letter, telegram, or other such message you have received stating such. The Empire does not want you in prison, nor do they want your head -mounted on a stick or a silver platter. No, they want your help, and they have a job for you.

The job is simple enough: Escort a G-class freighter (which is to say a 400 to 500 meter long cargo ship with a hangar for starfighters and shuttles), the RMS Isaac through the Great Void from its hangar here on Thrawn B7 to a small docking station in orbit around Earth. No questions asked, and any previous crimes within the Empire to be waived*. The pay is tantalizing, and the pardon perhaps even more so. Sure, the Great Void is dangerous, but it'll be a hell of a lot safer for you than going through the Empire's territory, and a hell of a lot safer for the cargo (and possibly you) to go through Federation or Horde territory.

Right?

Hello, hallo, hullo, and moshi moshi perfect OP desu! Perhaps you may be wondering what this is after reading all that, perhaps not, perhaps you just felt like reading what's under all these spoilers! Anyway, I'm Rupudska, perhaps you've heard of me in RPs that I have either participated in or ran. Anyway, you're probably wondering about that 'what this be' part. This is a science-fiction RP by yours truly heavily inspired by classic science fiction of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and maybe even 90s, most notably anime of that period, though rest assured there will be references to Western science fiction too. Once I get around to watching half the things I'm referencing besides Macross and Star Trek

This is a nice, simple-premise travel RP where you're a bunch of space mercenaries guarding a cargo ship through largely uncharted space across the galaxy - literally. Should be jolly good fun. Think of it as a mix of space opera, science fiction, and maybe a dash of science fantasy with telepathy being in the realm of possibility. While I'm looking for some level of seriousness, this is inspired by science fiction of the first golden age of TV and animation, so far be it from me to require you to be serious all the time. Silliness is welcome, fun is mandatory.
 1. As OP I reserve all authority over this RP.
 2. RP samples are required except from people whom I have invited via TG, and members of The Madhouse or The Pub.
 3. Bad behavior in the OOC will be punished according to how bad the behavior was.
 4. Godmodding will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
 5. Try to stay active in the OOC as well as the IC, and TG me if you won't be able to post for a while.
 6. I expect everyone to make posts of decent quality. Try for longer posts, though for dialogue you can keep it short.
 7. Keep it PG_13, or else.
 8. This RP operates on a three-strike system. Three strikes and you're out - something I don't want to have to do, really.
⑨ Universal Rule Zero is in effect: Fun is mandatory for this RP. Stay frosty my friends.
First the planetary app. While you can use it, it's not required and you can use your own. You just need the DO NOT REMOVE phrase at the bottom.

Seats:
Special Features: (Modifications from stock, unusual devices it may have - grappling equipment, cloaking systems, extra fuel tanks, that sort of thing. Optional, of course.)
ALL I ASK IS A TALL SHIP
Galactic Map - it should be noted that the Great Void goes over Federation territory and under Imperial territory.

*zombie shuffle*

Name: Flavian Adraxis
Age: Aggressively indeterminate. Carbon dating fluctuates. Flavian lies, and also can't remember. The most commonly heard answer is "50, fuck off".
Gender: Male Persona
Species: Cognitively, human. Genetically, abiotic.
Nationality/Allegiance: Life ain't worth much if you live it for some banner. Himself, maybe those other mortal wanderers he fancies.
Physical Appearance: Stands about 2.2 standard meters tall, visibly baseline humanoid of Caucasian Terran descent. Nonindicative shade of brown/sepia in skin tone, topped by a frazzled shock of hair butchered in to a crest of mottled crimson, complemented by a full Imperial mustache and ragged beard of similar hue. Eyes are purple and emerald, not one color to each eye, but rather both hues represented in each iris in regular flux. Favors light eveningwear even where such dapper attire is not appropriate, in sable tones. Has the hands of a man who works for a living, but prefers to dress like a dandy.
Identifying Marks: The eyes. Dead giveaway that whatever Flavian is, he isn't just another spoiled gentleman-adventurer. Also, to those with the instrumentation, the Sojourner gives off an uncomfortably high level of background radiation for a carbon-based lifeform.

Skills: Composed of malign eldritch warpstuff. Older than he looks, and thus well treacherous. Genius level engineer, with uncannily excellent command of materials and manufacturing. Drinks like a shipload of sailors.
Personality: Outwardly jovial and friendly, enjoys a good game of holochess, carousing in any bar worth the name of 'dive', respects woman but far too fond of their perks for his own good. Hard to motivate with money, or threat of force, bloodthirsty and prone to taking apart new organisms to find out how they work, sentient or not.
Weaknesses: Possesses at least three personalities which argue at times. Irascible, flighty, mildly sociopathic, a touch bit of a xenophobe. Real sucker for a sob story or honey trap.
Likes/dislikes: Spirits! Adventure! Beauty! Wenches! Yay! Boredom! Discipline! Patience! Xenos! Boo!
Interests: Cuckolding. Romancing. Binge-drinking. Drugs. Meeting new lifeforms, and killing them.
Fears: Running out of time. Accidentally killing someone. Whatever flickers behind his eyelids when he mutters to himself.

Bio: Prefer to reveal ICly as filler, but can blurb up if required.
Reason for Being on Thrawn B7: Stole rare artifact of past civilization from local auction house. Artifact accidentally ingested during drinking binge. Auction house enforcers displeased.
RP Sample: Adventuring Days
CAPTAIN TO ENTERPRISE (DO NOT REMOVE)

You know good and well my answer. Accepted.

Also I think I'll relax my no-mechs rule to 'only a few mechs and only if I trust you'. If one requires a reason why, blame Gunbuster and Macross.

I'm a simple man of simple tastes, I see an intriguing RP, I apply or at least throw my hat in to some degree:

Name: Arthur Mcdaniels
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Nationality/Allegiance: His paycheck (Independent), mild sympathies towards humanity
Physical appearance:
Identifying Marks: Matching tattoos on hands "Smile for" on left "The Birdy" on right. Burn scar on right side of cheek and jaw

Skills: Crack shot, an expert in hand-to-hand combat (particularly knife-fighting). Infiltration and boarding actions are both his favorites and typical services when hired by clients.
Personality: Calm under fire, a bit rowdy on his down-time, otherwise rather laid back unless gambling.
Weaknesses: Gambling; Alcohol (Bit of an alcoholic); Open flames and "Interesting people"
Likes/dislikes: +Games of chance; ++Drinking; +++"Companionship"; -----Open fires; --"Obnoxious music" ---Hangovers
Interests: High risk, high reward jobs. 'Magic' (or more precisely sleight of hand tricks), marksmanship, training with his weapons of choice, maintaining his reputation
Fears: Open fire, absolutely terrified of it, dying in the vacuum of space or other situations outside his control.

Bio: A gun for hire with minimal baggage, Arthur wanders from one place to the next where his muscle and means of peace-keeping (Both via violence and stern voice) have earned him a modest business in less-legal transactions.
Reason for Being on Thrawn B7: Enjoying some down-time in between jobs.
RP Sample: I do believe we've met before, however I can offer a sample should you so desire.

If you need help world-building, don't be afraid to send me a PM/TG. I'm generally a laid-back guy and have no problem helping if I'm not busy.

If you have ANY QUESTIONS WHATSOEVER about your application or about an RP I am running, feel free to ask, I don't bite very often.

I keep my own political views to myself unless pressed, no offense to you dear reader. With regards to religious belief, I am an atheist. That being said, I'm open to (peacefully) discussing spiritual belief and/or scripture if you so desire.

Name: Rodan Iliǀe
Age: 34
Gender: Female
Species: Homo yozat, a human subspecies deliberately engineered by the Yozat Group
Nationality/Allegiance: "Legally a ward of the Yozat Group, but I pledge my allegiance to the toiling masses who labour to serve the ruling classes."
Physical appearance: Rodan has mocha-coloured skin and a dark red pixie cut, with bright green eyes and a heart-shaped face. She stands about 5'11" (~1.80 m), and has arms just a few inches too long for a human. Her musculature is well-developed, and her shoulders are broad. She has two dark purple tentacle-like tails that protrude from either side of her tailbone.
Identifying Marks: Her pair of tentacle-like tails

Skills: "I'm good with computers and machinery, and I'm very physically aware and capable. My genetic mods help in that respect. I can see the bigger picture and plan accordingly -- that's what made me a good manager, and it's also what makes me a good revolutionary. I've learned some stuff about chemistry and pharmaceuticals in the past couple of years -- which I guess is just a polite way of saying that I can cook up drugs. I only use it to synthesise the closest thing I can to Syntraz, though."
Personality: Hardworking and self-reliant, Rodan has emotionally hardened herself out of necessity. Behind the mask, though, she's a caring and kind woman, whose greatest desire is to liberate the weak and oppressed. She's fascinated by new knowledge, and loves examining complex, efficient systems and thinking of possible improvements. She worries about what's happening to her people, and feels guilty that she can't be on her home planet, helping them. Although she feels a sense of wonder every time she visits a new place, she can't help but feel as though she doesn't deserve it.
Weaknesses: "I rely on a drug called Syntraz to keep my body fully functional, and it's hard to get a hold of except from the Yozat Group itself and affiliated suppliers, although I have a dealer who sometimes has it, and I've learned to synthesise something close in a pinch. Aside from that, although I try to emotionally detach myself when it makes things easier, I have trouble doing so when people's suffering is involved."
Likes/dislikes: Liberating the working classes, visiting new places, learning new things, examining systems. The Yozat Group, the feudal system of the Empire in general, bullies.
Interests: Pretty well covered this already.
Fears: That she won't be able to help her people.

Bio: "I was born on the edge of the Empire -- a fitting name for such an exploitative bandit-state, no? -- on Hama ħRi, the Salt Facility. We locals just call it Salt, though, or !əRi in Ɓula ħRi, my native language. It used to be an essentially barren ocean world: there's very little land, and the only life that evolved in the highly saline ocean was a handful of microscopic lifeforms, a few tiny crustacean-like organisms and some fungus. Just over 300 years ago, some scientists established a research facility to do some biological studies, but they ran out of funding within a few years and ended up selling the planet to a merchant conglomerate -- the Yozat Group. That's when development on the planet really took off, because the Yozat Group saw something valuable in the barren world: salt. A lot of profit can be made extracting and selling salt, and if there's one thing the Yozat Group loves, it's profit.

"It only took them a few years to set up shop. They installed the machinery necessary to extract the salt from the ocean and the salt deposits on land, transferred workers from other worlds, and instated the Salt Facility Operations Commission to administrate the whole thing. The scientists were allowed to stay and continue their research under the administration of the Operations Commission, but they had to share their findings with the Yozat Group. And that's how my story began.

"I was born 34 years ago, the bastard daughter of one of the Commission administrators and a worker on one of the desalination plants. Well, I was conceived in the womb of the administrator, but in order to save face she had me transferred into a gestation tank. Legally, I have no mother. I was passed off as one of the genetic experiments that were still being done 300 years down the line, the product of my father's and an anonymous egg donor's genetic material and a ward of the Yozat Group. We all are, though -- wards of the Yozat Group, that is. That's the legal status of the working classes on Yozat-owned worlds, so that they can get away with not paying us a proper wage as long as they provide our living accommodations. Which, in practice, means that the smallest rooms are free, and we have to pay them for food, beds, medical care, and any sort of living space beyond the tiniest shoebox. It's really quite fair, as they constantly make sure to tell us -- it's a way of 'incentivising' hard work. I still don't get how anyone falls for that crap.

"Anyway, what was I saying? Ah, yes. I was an experiment in a tank. That's why I have all these genetic modifications, more than most workers were being given at the time -- although by now my mods are outdated. See, to ensure that we could perform well on Hama ħRi, the Yozat Group has us all genetically modified, to make us stronger, let us withstand the high salt levels in the water and the air, make our blood clot faster, make us better swimmers, make us able to hold our breath for longer, make us feel pain less acutely, let us go without sleep for longer, and let us drink salt water. I also got an experimental mod -- my tails. They don't do anything particularly special, but they function as an extra pair of prehensile limbs, which -- the logic goes -- increases efficiency. Oh, and of course one 'side effect' of all this is a physiological dependency on a drug called Syntraz, of which the Yozat Group is conveniently the primary supplier in the region.

"When I was finally, well, 'born' in effect, custody of me was given to my father, legally as a proxy for the Yozat Group. My mother, the administrator, got us upgraded to nicer accommodations and ensured that I got a better-than-average education for someone destined to work in a desalination plant -- that's how she kept us quiet, and I'm sure she regrets it now. Now, I wasn't sitting in a class with the children of the elite administrators or anything, but I received a general education that included the arts, sciences, and history, and that's more than most receive on Salt. It's part of what helped me realise our predicament.

"When I was 13, I started an 'appreticeship' alongside my schooling -- which basically means that I worked at the plant with no pay for four hours a day, so I could learn the skills for my future job. When I was 16, I started working in the plant more frequently, with pay. And as soon as I graduated from my schooling -- which I was allowed to stay in for longer than most, until I was 18 -- I started working full-time at the plant.

"I was spared the most dangerous jobs, and ended up as an attendant for my plant's pump system. Most of it's computerised, but a team needs to monitor the system to ensure that it runs smoothly. I was competent, smart, and took initiative, so after almost ten years I was promoted to manager for the plant's waste disposal system, which ensures that all the minerals and such that we don't want in the salt get safely and properly returned to the ocean in a way that won't upset the local water content too much. My father was so proud of me. It got me out of the plant more, which was nice, and I got to see aspects of the operation that I'd never really thought too much about before. I learned not only all about our plant's operations, but I got to tour the salt mines on the continent, the algae and fish farms that kept us all fed, the quality assurance centre, and the transportation hub where all the salt gets sent for transport off-world. It's really a huge operation, with hundreds of thousands of people all working, directly or indirectly, to produce the millions of tonnes of salt that get collected and shipped every year.

"It's also what really opened my eyes to all that was wrong about the whole thing. Here we all were, being utterly exploited, all to make the Yozat Group rich off of the salt that we were producing. When I finally figured out what exactly it was that made me uncomfortable with it all, I felt disgusted.

"I began organising my plant's workers. First just the waste disposal team, then I contacted my old friends in the pump monitoring team, and those who'd also been transferred to other areas. I read the great socialist theorists of the past nearly two thousand years, and I used my position to distribute leaflets and agitate the workers. I convinced another manager at the plant closest to ours of my ideals, and I also began organising the workers who ran the housing facility I'd lived at all my life.

"After a few years, the plans had been made, and four facilities were ready to go on strike, with sympathisers present in most of the other facilities who would ensure that broadcasts of our actions would reach the entire planet, hopefully sparking a general strike and an expulsion of Yozat authorities from the planet. We were as ready as we'd ever be.

"So we struck. Our entire plant shut down, and we occupied it and locked out the non-radicalised management. The same thing happened simultaneously at the other facilities, and we refused to return to work until the Operations Commission left the planet and the Yozat Group officially signed the rights to the planet over to us. A few other facilities joined us after a few days, but the majority continued working, fearful of the Yozat Group's retribution, and the transportation hub remained operational despite the efforts of a minority of the workers there, ensuring that salt would continue to be transported off the planet. For the first week, we were thoroughly ignored. Their plan was to wait until we ran out of food or Syntraz, and although we had a good supply saved up of both and an algae farm firmly on our side, we would eventually run out.

"I'd planned for this possibility, of course. We'd ensured that some of our people in the transportation hub wouldn't join their comrades unless a majority of workers agreed to strike, so that we'd have a handful of people capable of conducting sabotage operations. Those people installed a number of EMP generators that we'd acquired, and discharged them, shutting down all transportation off-world.

"After almost a month, finally the Yozat Group responded. Not through negotiation, but through force. Their security force landed at the transportation hub, and secured it in a matter of hours from the workers' militias that had formed to maintain the shutdown. Next, they secured the algae farm that had joined us in the strike to cut off our food supply. Then, they came for my plant.

"We fought long and hard. We didn't make it easy for them to take our plant from us, and we sabotaged a good amount of the machinery along the way. But by the next day, they effectively had the plant under their control, and the most belligerent of us were mostly rounded up in prison, or hiding in the cracks. Within a week, they'd secured the remaining plants, and operations on the planet continued mostly as normal.

"I was still in hiding. As one of the leaders of the strikes, they wouldn't let me off easy, and I didn't plan to let them have me. Despite the strike having been crushed, there were still many who held to our revolutionary ideals, and they helped me get off the planet on a cargo ship. I vowed to destroy the Yozat Group, and to return one day as a liberator of my people. From there, we'll launch a galaxy-wide revolution, and liberate all oppressed peoples from the shackles of their oppressors.

"That's too far away to think about, though. For now, I've been hopping from planet to planet to escape the Yozat Group's 'justice.' But I've been given a great opportunity, one that could turn the tide and truly make a difference. Once I've been officially pardoned of my 'crimes' and I have the resources to bring them down, I'll finish the job I started all those years ago, and bring about my people's emancipation. I just have to do this one job."
Reason for Being on Thrawn B7: "Chance. I move around between frontier worlds frequently enough, and I just happened to catch a ship to Thrawn B7."

Name: Jennifer Warden
Age: 37
Gender: Female
Species: Hooman.
Nationality/Allegiance: To the ship, to the mercenaries. As long as they keep her safe.
Physical appearance: See image.
Identifying Marks: Golden bracelets on both wrists, and a streak of red-goldish hair.

Skills: Technician, hacker, all-kinds of electronic warfare. Including electrically hacking mechs and control one. Talking to people, though mostly by using the "shy, adorkable, flirting type"
Personality: Shy, but not quiet. She is definitely can talk but not the most social person. But she is an able flirter and a bit greedy.
Weaknesses: Definitely not the combat version. She is awful at taking shots or throwing punches. Panicking under fire.
Likes/dislikes: Coffee, electronic stuffs, being wealthy, enjoying her lifestyle. Hates ancient and primitive techs with a passion. Also dislikes tea.
Interests:(Optional)
Fears: Not having a stable living conditions.

Bio:

Born in the realms of Cyanian's empire, Jennifer Warden's life was all but the worst. Her parents were definitely local traders, merchants of some kind. They sold goods, electronic, recycled, non-edible goods. Because they were so busy with their economy and life, they usually put Jennifer in the charge of her relatives, one of which was her uncle. Her uncle was a former technician for the Man's kingdom and used to be a smuggler as well. He assisted her on their free time together with hacking, technology, electronics. It was the passion that she found and she gradually enjoyed working with techs. Her parents also became richer with time, and put her with a good life.

But all good things must come with an end. In her case, it was a bang. She went to the military service of the Man's kingdom, she was about to served on one of the Cyanian's station, a space laboratory station. Unfortunately the transport ship was attacked by mercenaries who thought that ship was just a normal civilian ship, not knowing it was part of the Cyanian's. In the ensuing battle, the ship crashed in a habitable planet, one that habituated by primitives, of past tech but a civilized one. She and other survivors survived well and able to returned to their way, but it was too much for her. Her days in the primitives planet proved to be an experience, where she lost the wealth of living.

She didn't last long in the service, and eventually joined the mercenary business, as their hacker, the ones that put in charge of making sure their service is secured and having access to the prying eyes of mercenaries who steal data. Unfortunately, one of those businesses put her in a dangerous situation due to prying too close and as a result she went to hiding and lay low.

Reason for Being on Thrawn B7: Lay low.

Name: Caesu Niseres
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Species: If you removed every last cybernetic from his body, he would be dead. The remaining flesh, however, would be human.
Nationality/Allegiance: To life. For himself, and any he can save.
Physical appearance: Despite the metal and wires that are intertwined throughout his body, he remains a small and relatively frail kid. Patches of synthesised metal cover his pale skin, and he maintains a short collection of hair on the top of his head. He has scars, but distinguishing whether many of them came from before his implants or were inflicted as a result of them is nie impossible, to the point where he doesn’t even bother trying to tell the difference himself. Overall, he makes for quite the inconspicuous person, or he would, if not for the apparatus embedded across his face.
Image

Identifying Marks: Other than the mixing of metal and flesh, his main identifying feature is the visual implant that covers his lower forehead, his eye sockets, and the upper parts of his cheeks. It only lifts a few centimeters off the surface of his face, but it's enough to make him recognizable.

Skills: While it can be unsettling to look at, the visual implant does more than just allowing Caesu to see the world. It works as a hyper visual enhancer, allowing him to see things that others wouldn’t, notice problems when others might gloss over them, and gather information fast enough to save a life. This is what he does, using his countless cybernetic enhancements in order to prevent death. While he was never trained exactly on how to save a life, he was trained on how to prevent death, which when the people who own you are a vastly rich and powerful criminal organization, its important that people don't die. His vast metallic features allow him to store all the needed surgery supplies on his person, along with the tools needed to complete these procedures being a part of his body. His fingers are long, nimble, and steady, and he does his best to never make mistakes.
Personality: When you spend enough of your life being manipulated, you begin to mirror exactly that which plagues you. Despite knowing it's something that will only push others away, he has a very hard time trusting people, and even if others come through on what they said they would do for him, he is very quick to take what he can and leave. In terms of danger, it remains a coin. On one side you have the mission, and he will do what needs to be done in order to get himself, and any of those he is with, out alive. On the other side, there is intimidation, and he will shy away from any violence he thinks he can get away from. The duality is in and of itself hypocritical , but nevertheless he maintains it.
Weaknesses: His ability to stand up for himself in a physical encounter is nonexistent. This fact is known to him, and due to his physical frame it is likely known to others. The full circle knowledge of this means he is very easy to intimidate, as threats of physical violence carry much weight. When the person you are dealing with can snap your arm as if they were preparing fire kindling, you might have a hard time saying no to them.
Likes/dislikes: He’s left his ears mostly untouched in terms of cybernetics, and as such enjoys music to a great degree. On the other end, he hates physical confrontations, and will do a lot to avoid them.
Interests: Superficial social engagements, logic problems, and the relief of someone's vitals going stable.
Fears: Dying again. His whole life has been a struggle just to be alive, and living is all he has.

For anyone but the luckiest, being stabbed through both of your eye sockets and then shot 14 times in the chest would mean you were never waking up again. For Caesu, that was exactly the case for 5 minutes and 42 seconds. Having grown up in the urban depths of one of the Cyanian Empire’s capital worlds, this sort of violence was to be expected. His attacker had no motive, other than the opportunity that a lone child presented and the concoction of drugs that were flowing through his system. For the time he was dead, he was to become a statistic, but for the man that found him bleeding out on the concrete, he would become property.

This practice was not uncommon in the underground. Criminal organizations would find those in need, help them as best they could, and then demand a payment that the assisted person could not hope to pay. Unable to fulfill the return obligation, the organization would then assume ownership over the person until they could “repay their debt”. This trap was exactly the one that was sprung on Caesu, as once on hand medical devices were used to close his wounds, and get his heart pumping again, he was locked into a contract that he wasn’t even alive to consent to. Once he was stabilized, he was transferred to the criminal safe house of an organization that would become his home for the next 11 years.

His revival wasn’t finished there, and in order for him to become a full functional person again, he would need vast physical restructuring. While this might have been an expensive endeavor for many, this criminal group dealt in illegal cybernetic enhancements, and thus was always on the lookout for test subjects who could serve as validation that their products worked. If he survived, then he was a testament to their quality, and if he didn’t, then 2 hours of tearing the used technology out from his flesh would be a small price to pay for his potential. It was a 14 hour procedure, but miraculously he came out of it alive.

His final total of implants ranged in the hundreds. He needed entirely new bone structure supplements in some parts of his torso, synthetic tissue and skin patches all across his chest, and most importantly he needed some way to see. When the knife had gone through each of his eyes, it had taken away any chance he would see through organic methods, and so the apparatus he wears today was bolted to his face, and the wires linked up to his brain. Over the next year and a half he was either in recovery, or being toted around to underground meetings in order to prove that he was in fact alive, and that the criminals cybernetic enhancements had been the cause. Once their reputation as a successful implant dealer had been solidified, he had even more implants installed in order to perform surgeries for them. Throughout this time he became very knowledgeable about the anatomy of many different species as he was forced to take them apart, and rebuild them with metal.

This went on for years, and all of his teenage life was spent under the yolk of these people. That would finally end when the Cyanian Empire passed a proclamation entailing the crackdown of major criminal activity in their sector. The fame that these criminals had used to gain vast amounts of money then became their downfall, as they were one of the first groups to be targeted. Their safe houses were raided with brutal efficiency, and soon nowhere became safe. This would all culminate for Caesu into his escape, when what should have been a simple sortie for the police turned bad when it was discovered that the whole building was rigged to explode. The sudden turn from aggression to caution gave him the time needed to leave through one of the escape tunnels. Because of the systematic dismantling of the criminal empire, the disappearance of Caesu wasn’t something that his once overlords were very concerned about, and instead his hunters would become the government, as they had intel about his numerous surgeries, and his extensive involvement in the organization. He had spent his entire life afraid of an organization that cared nothing for him any longer, and those he had once thought would be his savior took on the mantle of hunting him. With his life in shambles, he set out into the galaxy. His skills in surgery and his knowledge of anatomy would serve him well as a medic, whilst he attempted to find some sort of peace.

Reason for Being on Thrawn B7: Despite his unwilling involvement in the criminal underworld, the Cyanian Empire still considers him a threat to the law. Due to his escape from one of their capital worlds, he is under the threat of being extradited should the law hunters involved in reigning in any remaining members catch him. He has come here seeking asylum from that system.

No way.

When we meet aliens from outer space, we'll yell:

We poison our air and water to weed out the weak!
We set off fission bombs in our only biosphere!
We nailed our god to a stick!
Don't fuck with the human race!

Having grown up in the urban depths of one of the Cyanide Empire’s capital worlds, this sort of violence was to be expected.

That would finally end when the Cyanide Empire passed a proclamation entailing the crackdown of major criminal activity in their sector. Hopefully I'll be able to get an app up soon.
Patriotic centrist American, who is vaguely right leaning. I support the Bill of Rights. I have no loyalty to any party. Expand or die. That's how humanity works. Science fiction is the best genre.
