Late 2016 - Sarah LaGrange is elected President but an investigation soon reveals her and her campaign used illegal methods to obtain victory. She is swiftly impeached and removed from office along with her entire cabinet. Paul McMasters assumes the Presidency and appoints Indiana Governor Marty Bennett as his new VP. The communist Vanguard party gains more support than it has ever had, rallying the working class they are still not a major player but clearly up and coming. They now rival the size and influence of the green party. This move also severely weakens the Democratic party as some of their more left members join the Greens or Vanguards.
This political unrest in the US dramatically harms global trading and finance, combined with brexit and the right-wingers gaining power in Europe, this is the cause a global mini recession.
In Russia, the sanctions have to be ended, as it needs cooperation with the war on ISIS, and the global economic downturn would inhibit the sanctions from continuing. Russia would take advantage of in Belarus, as Putin carries out the governmental reshuffling.
A communist group by the name of the People's Congress of South Sudan arises in Sudan and South Sudan as a response to Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas heavy fighting begins.
Early 2017 - The National Front starts its rise to power in France in response to the recession. In Germany the CDU gains popularity as well as the AfD while the SPD loses favor among the people.
Iran's influence over Iraq is only getting larger.
The Berlin summit of 2017 lead by Germany and France, attending nations include United States, United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Poland and the republics of Czech, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Australia, the Kingdom of Denmark and the Kurdish form a coalition in preparation of war against ISIS. Russia agrees to enter on the side of the coalition under two main conditions. Assad will stay in power in Syria and the Economic sanctions from the Ukraine crisis are lifted. Due to this and the influence of the micro recession sanctions are lifted and nations prepare for war. The Russians also agree to recognize Kurdistan as Independent. Turkey quickly exits NATO. All countries agree to tiptoe around Iran.
German and american operators spearhead the start of Operation Sand Spider alongside coalition armed Kurdish forces followed by everyone else. The fight Encompasses Libya, Syria, southern Turkey, Iraq and small parts of Tajikistan. Australia, America and the UK take up the Majority of fighting in Libya while Iraq and Syria are largely handled by Russia, France and America.
Mid 2017 - A joint Forward Operating Base between Russians, Americans and Latvians are almost fully wiped out. Russia sustains 38 casualty's, America 3 and Latvia 18. The loss of these men influences the Latvian government to pour more funds into their military.
The Chinese government enacts a 10 year plan to reduce pollution.
Popularity for Putin rises, as the economy continues to improve due to oil prices and arms manufacturing being on the increase along with the elimination of the sanctions and some economic diversification. In the peak of his popularity, he announces he will step down in 2018, nods to Poklonskaya to be his successor.
Mexican drug war keeps getting worse, though the final three most wanted drug lords are killed or captured.
China begins systematically taking some of the smaller islands in the south china sea.
Japan performs a large scale naval exercise on the edge of disputed Chinese waters sparking protest by the Chinese government. America stands by Japan in their right to perform maneuvers in international waters.
Operation Sand Spider ends and Operation Silver Avalanche begins marking a successful invasion of ISIS held territory. The fighting is brutal as conventional warfare decimates many ISIS held positions the coalition pushes deeper into Syria and Iraq. Libya ground warfare starts to slow down and it becomes a massive air campaign.
Operation Vizantiya piggybacks off the success of Operation Sand spider. A Russian lead ground operation assists to recapture former government held areas in Syria.
Late 2017 - The US had begun to stabilize and exits its micro recession. Europe and then the rest of the world follows.
Japan commissions four new Atago-Class Destroyers.
Mexico receives two Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates from the United States.
Japanese Troops establish an air base at former Clark Air Base to support the Peacekeeping Operations.
Canada does Canada stuff.
Alexander Lukashenko suffered from cardiac arrest, brought about due to his lavish lifestyle. Soon after, political unrest in Belarus began, with pro-Russian factions and Lukashenko's government coming to blows.
Democratic People's Republic of Korea leader Kim Jong Un sends his sister Kim Yo-Jong sends his sister to South Korea on a diplomatic mission. In a historical event the DPRK leader cordially invites President Moon of the Republic of South Korea to meet with him in Pyongyang to discuss the situation on the peninsula.
DPRK are to join in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang South Korea.
Japan orders ally South Korea to participate in military training maneuvers in the Sea of Japan amidst meeting with north korean leadership. South Korea strongly declines exclaiming that the Japanese were fools for suggesting the exercise during such important events.
The start of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Canada wins 3rd, Norway wins first and Germany wins Second.
South Africa never leave the recession and starts to tank farther. Racial strife starts to get out of control.
Botswana and Namibia send diplomats with the new communist governments of the People's Congress of South Sudan. After they claim independence. South Sudan and Sudan are both still fighting the communists, Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas.
Early 2018 - The People's Congress of South Sudan renames itself to the People's Republic of Sahel and seeks international recognition.
Dmitry Medvedev is elected Russian President. Alexander Petrov becomes Prime Minister after being selected personally by Putin for his ruthlessness and the command he respected. The UR super-majority also holds, with fewer protests this time, following the trend of less election protests in Russia.
The situation in Belarus degrades to the point that Russia intervenes, citing their duty to do so as a member of the Union State. They assist the pro-Russian factions in Belarus. Belarusian refugees flee to the Baltics.
Mexico overtakes Canada as the 2nd biggest producer of cars in the Americas, protests demand Pena Nieto to step down but he refuses, the crowds are dispersed forcefully and the election is well received.
The UN Peacekeeping mission to Liberia is withdrawn on 30th of March, 2018. The country soon returns to instability and another civil war erupts.
Mid 2018 - Russia vows to stabilize the situation in Belarus, as infighting rages on, and the calls for more Russian intervention increase. The international community largely looks away from the developing situation. The Baltic governments do not.
Oil prices move to $65.33 USD a barrel.
Elections over Europe, Swedish Democrats party wins majority, Latvian Harmony party continues to hold majority of the seats in parliament, Jobbing gains majority in Hungarian Parliament.
Australia votes to become a Republic.
Due to the rapid decline in population in Portugal suffer another financial crash.
Aral Sea nearly dries up.
Operation Stone Castle starts in Syria as a mass influx of international aid allows for an international effort to rebuild parts of war torn Syria.
ISIS is wiped out in Tajikistan.
Tensions rise between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
United States Navy transport helicopter is shot down over Homs, Syria killing 12 Navy SEALs, the 2 pilots and crew chief.
ISIS uses chemical weapons for the first time on Lithuanian and Australian soldiers killing 3.
Russia begins massive economic diversification project giving a significant boost to the Russian GDP and economy.
Late 2018 - China captures more islands in the south china sea.
Germany wins the 2018 world cup. But recent waves of terrorism slow tourism and prevent Russia from gaining any substantial profit.
Another Australian Army position is shelled with chemical weapons killed 4 and injuring 8 others on Christmas day.
Australian army unit goes AWOL for a short time on retaliation killings due to the chemical attacks on Christmas day.
ISIS is crushed on new year's eve. Remnants of ISIS retreat into Southern Iraq and Nigeria. Fighting continues in Libya.
Early 2019 - Japan places trade embargoes on Libya.
Pakistani nationalists bomb Indian border guards with a grenade, killing 1.
A massive earthquake in Yushu, China killing 1,947 with another 308 missing. Many lives were saved as a result of evacuations ordered by seismologists who predicted the quake the day before. The earthquake measured a 7.1Ms
In china Dozens of construction tycoons and business owners are arrested on yet another corruption crackdown after investigations show that the major loss of life in Yushu, China was due to many of the building not being up to code.
The communist party in america slowly gains in popularity as the US water crisis continues.
Governments all over the world report that ISIS has been irradiated from Syria. World governments begin to withdraw from Syria and move on to Iraq.
The People's Republic of Sahel begins to gain international recognition as they make it evident they are increasing the living quality of their people.
Mid 2019 - Tsunami strikes japan on the same day that a massive hurricane strikes hits the USA and Mexico via the gulf.
Islamic terrorists bomb the statue of liberty killing 86 including many international tourists. The statue is largely undamaged.
Russian GRU Spetsnaz intercept train holding a massive weapons shipment in Siberia inbound to Kazakhstan. Six arrested.
Donetsk and Luhansk are recognized by several members of the UN.
Pakistani terrorists perform a second grenade bombing on Indian border guards, killing 7.
Zika outbreak in Brazil caught a second wind, infecting thousands. The W.H.O. estimates it will spread to hundreds of thousands by the end of the year.

Assad is killed during a strike on the government building. Syria puts the blame on Kurdistan.
The Turkish government suffer a second Military coup. It is slightly more successful. Members of the coup take over the capital and hold it for a 4 day long siege.
Medvedev resigns citing health problems and Alexander Petrov wins in the emergency election after being supported publicly by Putin who remains Chairman of United Russia.
A massive forest fire erupts in the far east of Russia, threatening many homes leaving some even stranded in the blaze on islands of unburnt land in a sea of flame. The fire has consumed over 538 square kilometres.
The Queen of England Elizabeth the second passes away at the age of 93. Charles, Prince of Wales is to be crowned King.
Hurricane Freda, Hurricane Gertrude and Hurricane Heather slam the gulf of mexico stretching from florida to texas and mexico causing over 600 billion in damages through the region.
A bomb is discovered in a mini cooper parked outside Kensington Palace. The bomb was disarmed and nobody was hurt. A northern Irishman named Jack Henry was found leaving the area and was swiftly apprehended. He claims to have no ties to any know terro organization.
Coming from Turkmenistan what were thought to be hoax reports of mass graves have now been validated by US drones. No government officials to the secluded country have come forward at this time.
