Biography: Aryana was born in Calgary, Alberta to Afghan parents who had been forced to relocate to Canada as a result of civil war in their home country. Not surprisingly, her family was never particularly wealthy despite some of her family having previously been government officials back in their home country. But Aryana was determined to do well in school so she could do some sort of job that would help her and her family be wealthy again. What that was, she wasn't sure. And in all honesty, as she gets ready to go to university, she's still not sure.
Her childhood was relatively uneventful. She lived in an immigrant heavy neighbourhood so she was relatively free from discrimination throughout her schooling, as well as a result of her family not being particularly devout Muslims despite the stereotypes associated with their home country. Nothing particularly good or bad happened, all in all her life was about as average as it could be. Her parents eventually were able to get better jobs and her family became firmly middle class. She kept up her grades in school and mostly focused on that, taking little interest in extra curricular activities such as sports and music. She did, however, pick up several hobbies to fill her free time. She found herself to be particularly good at creative writing, but knows it's something she'd be unable to pursue a career in. She's taken on some surprisingly male oriented interests recently, most notably video games, airsoft and cars as a result of her older brother having an interest in such things, but still sees herself as much more on the feminine than tomboy side.
For her grade 12 year, Aryana was offered an opportunity to attend Coastal Daytona Academy as an exchange student. She accepted, thinking it would be a good opportunity for some new experiences as she probably isn't going to move away from home for university.
