Hannah nodded her head, as she fed herself another fork's full of egg, and downing a strip of bacon, speaking shortly after swallowing both. "Oh, I got it. Biology homework!" Hannah said, smirking with a giggle, and then looking back down to dig her fork into the eggs on her plate. "I swear to God, my teacher makes me cry too..." Hannah uttered face-down, shaking her head, and bringing the fork back up to eat the bit of egg she managed to muster using the utensil.

"Or, did you totally bomb it at beer pong last night?" Hannah asked, continually inquisitively, clearly not amused and accepting any semblance of an attempt to skirt the question by the blonde girl, Cassie. "I know I only just met you, but since it seems like you're in the market for a new teammate for beer pong..." Hannah commented, amusingly, and darting a quick glance toward the crutches. "I've gotcha back covered, crippie." Hannah said, momentarily pausing from indulging herself with her breakfast meal.

Cassie noticed that Hannah seemed to be still making some jokes about it, which she honestly appreciated to some degree, even if it only did so much to make her feel better. It still made her smile a little, which was an improvement. While she was likely not a fan of some of the teachers, she didn't know a lot of them that well yet, but she still looked mildly amused about the joke of teachers making her cry. There were pretty much some like that for her in her last school, mostly because when she looked back on them, it felt like they had failed her.
Not because of her grades being terrible, that wasn't to really be helped, but because practically none of them seemed to put up any concern about her during some obviously rough times, and she considered a good teacher to usually pay attention to some of the things that were obvious when she was at school before.

Cassie seemed a bit confused when Hannah mentioned beer pong from last night, but then remembered people were passing around things about a party and she had forgotten about it.
Mostly because she had absolutely no interest in a party, or drinking or anything like that. She'd just be extremely uncomfortable at a party like that, for a multitude of reasons. Her face, after getting over the initial confusion, scrunched up in disgust at the thought of beer. She didn't pay any mind to the comment about being a cripple, but let out an "Gross, beer" comment, which was pretty clear by her look to be accurate. "Parties aren't really my thing...especially ones like that" She said quietly, looking thoughtful for a moment, but not in a sad way this time. "They make me extremely uncomfortable as is" She added. And that was even before recent events. It would likely be suffocating now.[/quote]

Curtis Aldor was one of the fastest men in high school basketball anywhere in the nation, and this was shown as, grinning madly, he caught up with Madison before they got to the car; ever chivalrous he arrived just in time to open her door.
"Oh by the way," Curtis smiled, opening the glove box when they were both seated, "I got you a present...ordered especially."
He handed her an open envelope, containing 3 small instantly recognisable small books: one passport was from the united states, one from Canada, and one boar the characteristic symbols of the European union.
"Congratulations beautiful," he laughed, "You just turned 21. But don't worry about the advanced aging...I'm 21 as well!"

Coach Taylor's office

"Tight end?" he seemed surprised to hear the offer; aside from 'this guy is big and fast and has good ball security,' he'd shown nothing to suggest he'd be good as anything that wasn't a back. "I can do tight end...yeah, that sounds fine. If Eric actually throws the ball to me, he doesn't like me much you know since I sided with his ex in that soap opera the two of them produced last year." He neglected to mention his and Madison's budding relationship for the moment.
"Honestly I was thinking of proposing something myself as well. We've got very good players on defence, but no depth from what I can see...I'm not going to degrade your intelligence and love of book-keeping by suggesting you don't have meticulous notes on the subject. I was thinking of suggesting that I might go for a few snaps at defencive back as well, since I'm genuinely not over-exhausted by the games I think I can handle a lot more activity, especially up until the basketball season starts."
He decided to push it out further, without actually lying; letting the coach know that football wasn't a sideshow for him could only be useful, he summised.
"I'm not sure if you've heard on the grapevine but I've got a shortlist of potential colleges, because I've rejected a truckload. You see...not many of the top basketball places will be happy to let me play both basketball and football in college."

"Huh? What's that? Got a little something here, got a lil' something!" Hannah announced, smiling widely, as she managed to get a slight grin out of the, then still silent, girl whom she hadn't even procured a name out from just yet; though certainly itching to get to that point, Hannah was, delving back into her breakfast, and downing nearly a half of it at this point of the conversation.

"Dude, I totally hear you. Like dealing with people at parties is just simply God-awful." Hannah remarked, toying a bit with her fork, and poking the salad Cassie slid over, to test the integrity of the lettuce.

"That's why I drink at them." Hannah added, glancing around, making sure there weren't any teachers or intrigued listeners overhearing the conversation, with piqued interest particularly on the last part, and then looked back toward Cassie.

"If beer ain't your thing, I can hook you up with... other goodies. " Hannah informed, ending with a wink.

Athletics Department - Coach Carl Taylor's Office
Carl Taylor

Monday, August 28th, 2017
2:54 PM

Carl paused for a moment, pursuing his lips, as he mused a little over the counter-offer as pretended to him, ultimately shaking his head against the idea, and reclining slightly back into his office chair. "What I'm hoping for, Curtis, is something that will be sustainable throughout the season, not merely just an interim-option, and the last thing I'd want to do is to limit your possibilities. Know that if you can balance both, I will wholeheartedly support you in doing so, and I will do everything in my power to make sure you reach your potential, whatever that may be."

Carl reached into his desk, opening the drawer to fetch the remote to the television screen he had paused mid-play during the DeLand game, and turned the television off. "That-said, playing both sides of the field is a major commitment. One that I've historically been against, personally, simply on the basis of it negating the possibilities of making adjustments with individual players between drives. I've been in this business plenty enough to know the potential you have in this game, and for this team, and how your physical attributes and abilities may translate into success on the field. I've also been in this business plenty enough to appreciate getting the unit together for a sideline talk. Obviously can't do that as often as we'd like in big moments, between drives, during a game when you're playing both sides of the field. Plus priority lies in trying to get Eric a big target like you. I think he'll see it to be a mutually beneficial arrangement for the both of you."

"And if you wanted to, you could follow in the footsteps of Anthony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham, Demetrius Harris. Those are just tight-ends too, recent ones. I can go on for perpetuity for other positions. My point is, the script here writes itself here. And those are four examples of NFL players? They didn't have bad college basketball careers either. Ultimately, it's a balancing act. And if you want to balance two sports, I want you to do it smartly. Sustainably. That means whatever we agree on doing for you can, conceivably, stay for the entire season. It's only fair for you, and it's only fair for your teammates." Carl said.

"I've ran through dozens of scenarios and possibilities for our defense, Curtis. So while I appreciate the presence of advocacy, if you're concerned about us on that side, don't be. I am personally seeing to it that it gets fixed. Have a little faith."

Madison paused, internally running through her hesitations - though daring not to externalize or facially depict any appearance thereof, as she scanned through the contents of the fabricated passports. She glanced over toward Curtis, tad confused, although certainly appreciative of the display. "Um, well that's... impressive. " Madison commented, running her free hand through the booklets, and getting a passing glance at the pictures of herself on each one. To say she was intrigued as to how Curtis had gotten them was an understatement, and to suggest its' implications would be tiresome. Madison left the next part, to describe what its' intentional usage is for, to Curtis to explain. Electing, simply, to ask.

"But, exactly why did you need to go about making three, if I may ask?" Madison inquired, lowering the envelop of passports down some, and glancing over her shoulder to make sure neither her dad or her step-mom were able to see what they were doing. Once she knew they were still arguing, just as she had left them, Madison looked up toward Curtis, not having the heart to tell him that she has a fake license that states she is twenty-one.

Cassie Kennington

Most of the parties that she had been to weren't full of too many terrible people, but she could imagine how terrible some of the people could probably be at a school party like that. Part of the reason why she had no interest in said parties. She had enough to deal with as is to not pile more stress on top of her because of people making her extremely uncomfortable. She spaced out for a moment then cleared her head, trying not to think about those parties.

Hannah then mentioned drinking at the parties and how she could "hook her up with other goodies" related to parties. This girl seemed a little too open about her...less than legal activities, and it made her feel a little nervous with her saying that openly in the middle of the Cafeteria. Though she shouldn't have to particularly worry herself since it didn't involve her at all, but still. "No, no, I'm good" She insisted to the last part about having stuff for her if she wanted. She had no interest in any of that. Drinking, smoking, drugs, sex, partying, none of it was anything she had interest in. Maybe she was simply too good of a person for her own good, but she just had no interest. Even if she did, she was someone who followed the rules enough that she would feel way too uncomfortable with herself breaking laws like that anyway. Though when it came to certain things like sex, she'd just be way too uncomfortable with that in general, likely ending in an anxiety attack. And she was the sort that preferred to be in a committed relationship before even thinking about something like that, which she barely did anyway, not just sleep around like some people did. While she didn't get it herself, though, she wasn't that caring of others who did, though. Nonetheless, she preferred to keep under laws and rules as much as possible.

Ryo Shimizu
Cafeteria
21st August, 2017. 4:54pm

Ryo nodded as he listened to Noah's response, thinking about last night's result, suddenly conscious of his Mariners cap. "Tampa?" he said conversationally, "Didn't they get a shut out last night?" They had, getting a shut out against the Mariners, 3-0 in the last of a three game series at Tropicana Field. It had been a real disappointment for Ryo, who hadn't the time to see the game, so he had caught up with the highlights online. Seattle had been at the beginning of a winning streak, one they needed to continue to keep their brief hopes of staying in the Wildcard Hunt alive. Now he had already resigned himself to seeing Seattle miss the playoffs for the 16th year, basically his entire life. "You think the Rays can make the playoffs this year?" A greater disappointment had been realising that this was the team's last game in Florida for the year. Ryo had not seen an entire game in a few months, their lack of success and the departure of Ichiro had basically banished the team from the television schedules back home. At least Ichiro would still be in Miami, Ryo could console himself with that.

The Dodgers, Ryo had seen more of, as they had a reputation for recruiting players straight out of Asia, with stars like Maeda and having recently traded for Darvish, you would do well to avoid them back home. Winning did not hurt either, "He must be the MVP this year" agreed, Ryo nodding as he stepped inside. His focus on quickly translating Noah's words in his head. Especially the last one, insane? It took him a good moment to link it to hanpa nai and not its other uses, he checked the app to confirm it, remaining ignorant of the reasoning behind Noah's selection of their table. The cafeteria was impressive, as it had been the first time he saw it. Ryo did wonder for a moment, just how the school could afford all this, he had never seen a school like it. Taking his seat, Ryo adjusted his shirt to make sure it was loose and comfortable.

"So it's your families school," said Ryo understanding, thinking Noah was lucky to be linked to such an impressive school. It was only then that he began to understand, why they were here. Noah was looking past him a few times and Ryo turned around to see what he was looking at. The girl was smiling back at Noah, like they knew each other. Then Noah was speaking again and catching Ryo's eye, "Yeah.." he was somewhat distracted by the sudden change of direction. "They just win and win, I don't think anyone can stop them at this point. They have a great bullpen with Kershaw and Jansen. Then Bellinger...." Ryo looked at Noah and wondered if the junior was still listening to him or perhaps had drifted off. He glanced back at the girl who was still writing in her notepad, "Is she your friend?" Ryo asked, sure he was onto something.

Curtis Aldor, Coach Taylor's office

"I guess a little faith can't go a miss," Curtis remarked brightly, "I'm just saying that if their were injuries and the like and the team needed someone to play both sides of the ball, I'd be more than happy to. Getting truly exhausted outside of training is something that I find very hard to achieve these days...and if I can help the team while also getting myself a better grasp of where my physical limits lie that'd be a win-win for everybody. But I trust your judgement, I'm happy to play some snaps at tight end...as well as running back, more playing time can only be good for me, if I am to be recognised for football instead of just for basketball. Obviously, that might change should Eric decide that I don't exist, as I fear he might, or well..." he shook his head laughing "If we figure out that I'm actually pretty crap at the position."

"I've no idea," Curtis laughed as he showed her his own collection; in his, the Canadian document had been replaced by a Nigerian one. "It's just how they come...my Dad knows people who produce these fake passports and drivers licenses, and for some reason you always get 3...no clue why, but I guess it's good if you lose stuff as much as me."
He turned his key in the egnition, smiling as the big car came to life and drove off slowly from the driveway. "Anyway..." he smiled, "Got any preference on what we do? Fancy meal by candlelight? Roudy nightclub? Rob a bank? Assassinate the president? The choice is yours..."

After school
Karena Svendsen

Karena, during her first few weeks here, had decided to look for various things that might be of interest to her here in America, and especially at this school specifically. Right now, that interest was lying on the International Club, which she decided to take a part in as she found that it would be quite interesting to check out. She felt like this was a good place to make some of the best friends here. While she did ultimately come here to experience American culture the most, she loved all sorts of cultures, and this seemed like a good place to make some of the most potentially interesting friends from all around, who likely had some intriguing stories to tell. And it wasn't like there weren't Americans in here too, which led to even more ability to just sort of get familiar with all sorts of different types of people.

As people would come out and recite their names once Brian had begun the International Club, it really came into focus to her. This is what American culture was about, aka essentially being a melting pot of all sorts of different cultures of people from all over. Even a lot of the people who were American had interesting ancestry from the brief introduction she heard, be it from some Middle Eastern country, some African country, and so on. Not to mention Brian himself appeared to be Irish. She wished this was generally the whole world, which it was slowly becoming the case, where all these people from all over with their interesting stories intertwined with each other and thought nothing of it at all, but that always seemed like a lot to ask.

When she had gotten an opportunity to step forward to continue the series of people, her somewhere in between the enthusiastic to speak and the shy, she would give her general introduction. "Hi, my name is Karena Svendsen. I'm in the 11th grade, and I just came over here from Copenhagen, Denmark" She stated, smiling warmly, and if anyone knew accents, you could pretty clearly tell she was from Denmark solely off of her Danish accent, albeit she was easily understandable despite the accent. Unless you were really bad at understanding people with foreign accents of course, but even for those types she should have been pretty recognizable. "I would call myself an adventurous type. That is partly why I came here" She said, smiling further, but it quickly turned to a slight sly, mischievous grin. "But the rest of me shall remain shrouded in mystery" She chuckled slightly, then stepped back for the next person to introduce themselves.

With that last statement, she essentially left it open to dare people to figure her out. She thought that could be an interesting game, in a way. She knew that some people had an interest in people that were a mystery, so maybe she could weirdly make friends that way. She seemed to make a quick scan of the group here to gauge their reactions, but beyond that, remained silent now, albeit with a small grin on her face.

Noah smirked, slowly nodded his head, listening to Ryo's recollection of his team's performance just the previous night, a rather regrettable and non-fortuitous outing, though he himself was appreciative of the fact he had spared himself from having viewed it live. He hardly budged, soon after Ryo posed his question of the girl, and definitely made it a point not to keep glancing up toward the female. "Classmate." Noah answered simply, gulping.

"She sits right next to me during Algebra II, and she's also in my English Lit and Chemistry class." Noah added, sighing as he hesitated for a moment, and glanced down at his hands as he twiddled his thumbs, appearing to be in thought, deciding to divert the subject for a moment back to baseball. "But yeah man, I don't know how far the Rays can go this year. That's just a really hard division to be in, so they're probably gonna just-miss the playoffs." Noah added with a shrug.

"They're gonna be better next year, though, I think."

Hannah shrugged off the dismissal of the proposition, and smirked. "That just means more for me, then." She remarked, taking another bite of scrambled eggs.

"So, what's your name, 'crip?" Hannah asked straightly, facing down toward her plate once more as she poked around for more with her fork, and glancing back up to continue eating. "And what's your story? Pretty sure I haven't seen you around this prison last year, so new student or am I tripping?" Hannah asked, still entirely oblivious to Cassie's rather horrific background story.

Carl Taylor

Carl nodded his head, and maintained a composed and neutral expression throughout, pausing for a moment to clear his throat. The side-show of drama between Eric and Curtis was something he'd rather avoid getting drawn into, except if it were absolutely necessary to do so to, for the sake of propriety, though it never seemed to be an issue that threatened the fraternity between everyone in the locker-room. Carl then let a smirk escape him, and nodded in concurrence.

"If anyone fails to recognize your physical talent, they obviously don't deserve to have a young man like you to be a part of their program." Carl commented with a chuckle. "And, when it comes to injuries, on either side of the ball, we cross that bridge when we get there. And we'll do so with our utmost in due-diligence, we game-plan around the hand we're dealt as we always have."

"And right now, just want to see how you fair at that position. Lastly, don't you worry about what Eric will do, or if you will get catches. If he can't put the team before himself for any reason, I'll have that conversation with him.

Madison Perkins

Smiling rather devilishly, Madison kept her gaze out the window as they drove past the house, and turned quickly back toward Curtis. "Candle-lit dinners seem too cliche, God that's definitely SUCH an Eric-thing." Madison remarked, shaking her head, and waited a second before continuing. "He'd never go within a mile of a night club with me. I so feel deprived. And if we're rebelling, we might as well rebel right." Madison added with a sarcastic cackle.

"But, what do you think?" Madison asked, reaching down to tug on her shirt some, hardly covering any more of her exposed abdomen, though managing to even out her straps over her shoulders. "Never thought you as one to go clubbing."

Curtis Aldor, Perkins driveway

"Oh gods," Curtis managed an extremely convincing horrified expression. "I would never be or do an Eric-thing...doing an Eric sounds..." he looked slightly ill "I think...no I don't think I want to think about the pain, it'd hurt just too much. Don't put that terrible thought into my mind again..." He slowly flicked through the presets, mumbling under his breath 'who the fuck had this car last' before coming across a country station he liked and picking up some speed.
"Now what I'd like to do is get high as a kite before we go to a club," he told Madison conversationally, "But the drug testy people are coming around soon if the rhumours are to be believed, and I'd rather not sit out 6 months of the season...so we'll just get drunk instead before we go and I'll do my best not to crash us into anything too hard. Does that sound alright? Or would you...rather I did crash us into something hard?"

Bursting into laughter, bordering that of the hysterical, watching Curtis's display of visceral dismay at the thought of Eric Stevens, Madison wiped a few tears and reached out to lightly caress Curtis's shoulder, looking straight into his eyes.

"You know, Curtis... I wouldn't mind that afterward one bit." Madison remarked, winking suggestively.

Cassie Kennington
"Cassie" Cassie said simply, not adding her last name. Like most people, she wasn't one to state her entire name, just her first name. Maybe people who were more formal and professional did, but she wasn't really either of those. To the next question, though, she was a lot more vague. "It's a long story..." She said rather quietly, looking immediately sort of distant and glossed over. "Yeah, this is my first year" She added after coming back to reality a bit She didn't know what to think about the fact that she called this place a prison, making her a little concerned about this place, but she figured she was just one of those students that found school in general prison-like.

Ryo Shimizu
Cafeteria
21st August, 2017. 4:56pm

Ryo was sure, he was onto something. Noah did not appear the same as he had been just a few moments ago. The confidence and ease he had shown in the batting cage seemed to be replaced by nerves. Whether this was just the how Noah was away from the baseball field or whether it had anything to do with this girl, Ryo was unsure having just met him. "Ok" he said in response, so she was just a classmate after all. Maybe they just knew each other from a class, yet it did not seem so simple.

When Noah started to list all their shared classes, Ryo wondered who had chosen to sit next to who in their Algebra class. Back home, the seats were assigned, which quickly became boring, but here everyone could sit wherever they wished or so he had found so far. "So you are in the same classes? Do you know her name?"

As the conversation turned back to baseball, Ryo thought to what Noah was saying, being in the same division as both the Yankees and the Red Sox was particularly cruel in his mind. "You still have the wildcard, the play-off, you still have a chance" he said, hoping he sounded somewhat encouraging. "If you can keep Longoria for next year and Kiermaier is not hurt, then you will make it next time" as the biggest names of the Rays, they were the ones he knew best.

Noah, initially, was pondering on whether to respond to the second of the dual conversations that appear to be happening simultaneously, though elected to let the topic of baseball subside for a brief moment. They've harped on it for awhile now, and his attention appears to be increasingly diverted toward the female buried into her textbook, seated just at the table across from the two young men. Noah hadn't gotten to speaking to her much, outside of the classroom, and he certainly hadn't had any way of knowing she was already taken by another guy - also on the baseball team, no less.

Staring downward at his hands, noticing he was nervously twiddling his thumbs, he glanced back up toward Ryo, and shrugged. "Her name's Sophia." He answered back rather solemnly, glancing back toward the girl at the table.

[b]Curtis Aldor, Bentley[b]

Curtis grinned, and took his eyes off the road to kiss her softly on the cheek.
"You know," Curtis smiled, "For such a beautiful girl you sure do have a dirty mind...like...that wasn't even what I meant. Since you want it to be what I meant though..." he laughed softly, "I do owe you that special from the party, after all."
Curtis slowed down as a big lumbering truck decided to hog the lane before cutting wildly into the next one; the move however was well-timed and they soon picked up speed.
"But befre we get to...all that," he remarked, "Alcohol, dancing and music sound like a good plan? Because...that's where I think the others have got it wrong. They think you're a little suffisticated rich girl with rich girl tastes and boring rich girl dreams...I think you're a bit wilder though. So...tell me, who's got it right?"

Outside of the Coastal Daytona Academy School Gymnasium
Sophia Taylor, Eric Stevens, and Audrey Harte

Monday, August 28th, 2017
03:48 PM

Seated outside of the campus gymnasium with her school bag right beside her, shortly after the volleyball practice in which her newly-minted burgeoning best friend and roommate, Audrey Harte, had managed to score a spot on the varsity volleyball team, Sophia say by, alone, and avoided being within earshot of her sister, her friends, or anyone else really as she sat with her hands folded. Part of her was just as discouraged she had missed the cut, wanting to be a part of something special with her roommate, yet didn't want her damper to ruin the ecstasy Audrey felt as she went about embracing many of her new teammates and their mutual friends.

Sophia, meanwhile, just wanted a moment to be alone, after she have Audrey a tight, warm hug, and told her how proud she was of her. Seated alone, away from the prying eyes and ears of others, Sophia pulled out her phone and started scrolling through her Instagram feed, sighing, propping her chin against the palm of her hand, when suddenly her phone began to rang and Eric's name and number popped up on the screen. Sophia shot another glance both ways, past her shoulder, and then answered the call, bringing the phone against her ear.

"Hey, Eric." Sophia answered, warmly per usual, but also with a small tint of dispiritedness in her voice that she was unable to withhold.

"Hey, Sophia." Eric responded, taking a moment to pause, yet promptly continuing after a few seconds. "How's it going? Wanted to check in on ya, you know, wondering about how that tryout went."

"Uh..." Sophia hesitated, sighed even, and her gaze went straight up as she straightened up her posture on the concrete slab bench. "It was, okay." She answered, shrugging her shoulders, darting another glance over toward Sydney as she conversed with a handful of others, then looking back down toward the concrete walkway before her, kicking and swaying her feet back and forth, her white Nike tennis shoes gliding and grinding slightly over the ground.

"Just... okay?" Eric's voice inquired through the speaker of the phone.

Sophia gulped, exhaled, closing her eyes for a moment as she leaned forward some, posturing herself comfortably in spite of the uncomfortable, rugged bench she was sitting on, placing her hand down on the surface of the bench a half-foot away from her body. "I mean, thought it went alright. Audrey made the team, so I'm really happy for her. Making it seemed like a huge goal of hers, and I'm just happy I was there when it happened for her." She said with a slight smirk, swaying her feet a little further and faster.

"Well, that's good for her." Eric answered back, an audible sigh heard from his end of the phone. "But, I'm asking about you too."

Once more hesitating, this time doing so betraying the fact she wasn't a slight bit upset about it, Sophia pursed her lips, and breathed through her nose. "Nah. I--um, didn't make it, actually." She said, lowering her tone of voice just slightly enough to be made noticeable as to her discontent of the situation, even more so obvious for Eric listening on the other side. "But, it's okay. I'll still cheer for Audrey from the sideline." Sophia added, voice perking up some, and her smirk returning across her face - enough to flash her trademark dimples.

Eric chuckled, uttering words to some of his teammates as they were still in the locker-room. "So... what about you?" Sophia continued on. "How'd practice go?"

"Went fine, without a hitch." Eric responded, his voice uncharacteristically more enthusiastic than usual, prompting Sophia to contemplate if he were being genuine or shielding something. Her brow furrows, and her feet stop swaying and gliding across the concrete beneath her. "And hey, I'm kinda feeling hungry. You'd want to, I don't know, grab a bite to eat?"

Sophia shot a look back across her shoulder again, to the general direction Audrey was last seen, and she waved over toward her roommate as Audrey walks away from some of her teammates by the doors of the gymnasium, slugging a duffel bag over her shoulder. "Hey, favorite roomie!!" Audrey exclaimed from the distance.

Sophia's face grew to a full smile, and threw her free hand in the air to wave toward Audrey, approaching from the distance. "Yeah. Sure! I'm pretty hungry right now anyway, only had a banana right after school."

"Cool." Eric answered. "Cool!" He repeated, second time doing so with excitement. "I'll, uh, drop by your place in a bit. 5:00? Beach afterward?"

"4:30." Sophia said, confidently. "I'm like that hungry right now." She explained, hearing Eric laughing a little.

"Okay, alright. Fine. 4:30 it is. Consider it done." Eric remarked, stopping a moment to say another quick word to a teammate passing by as he rummages through something in his locker in the changing-room by the practice field.

"See you then!" Sophia exclaimed, smirking, and hanging up the phone, before turning toward Audrey to stand up and extend out her arms to hug her roommate. "Eric's taking us out to eat, hope you're hungry!"

"He knows he has the roommate's approval, right?" Audrey asked with a smile, wrapping her arms around Sophia, and pulling her in for a tight hug. "Forever third-wheelin' with you two!"

Sophia rolled her eyes, and backed away from the hug, reaching down to grab her schoolbag, seated on the bench. "You mean, leaching off our date nights?" Sophia clarified, lightly nudging Audrey with her elbow.

"Free food." Audrey answered back, with a sarcastic wide smile, nudging her elbow back at Sophia. "Plus, someone needs to make sure the two of you keep a Bible's length of distance apart at all times, make room for the Holy Spirit."

"Oh, shut up you." Sophia groaned, rolling her eyes again, and shaking her head, while Audrey laughed some. "Come on, lets get going back to the dorm room." Sophia added as Audrey playfully ruffled Sophia's hair.

"So, hold on... that's really the reason they punt?" Audrey asked, chugging the last of her water, and waiting for the waitress to return with the check for the meal.

Eric slowly nodded his head, as he continued with the conversation of explaining the strategy and the game of football to her.

"Ballsy enough to literally run and smack as hard as they can into each other three times, but not enough to do it a fourth time?" Audrey asked with a bewildered look about her.

Eric and Sophia chuckled, with Eric taking the chance to elaborate further. "It's not really a question of ballsy, it's strategy. If you don't make it on that fourth try to go ten yards, you have to let their offense on the field for their turn. So instead of going for it, they punt it all the way back to the other side of the field. If they aren't able to kick a field goal, or if the game is about to be over and you know you'll lose otherwise if you don't at least try."

Audrey slowly nods her head, pretending as if she understands, but kept her furrowed brow and perplexed expression. "Can we go over the reasons why they sometimes score one point instead of three when kicking the ball again? I'm still REALLY confused about that too--". Just when Audrey was about to finished, the pretty waitress of similar age to them returns with a wide smile on her face, setting the bill in the center of the table.

"Just to be certain, you said you DIDN'T want separate checks, right?" She asked, as Audrey and Sophia glared at Eric, who ignored the two females he was sitting with and nodded his head with smile on his face.

"Yes ma'm." Eric simply said back to her.

"Okay, well you three have a great night." She said back, smiling widely, and stepping away, though quickly darting a quick look back over her shoulder to eye-over Eric's arms, back, and shoulders, grinning once more as she turns and keeps going.

Audrey, noticing, leans over and says aloud for Eric and Sophia to both hear. "Honestly, she's got nothing on you."

Eric squinted his eyes and looked at Audrey, while Sophia looked over toward the waitress, walking back toward another table. "I mean, yeah, but I'm not sure if you're hitting on my girlfriend, or...?"

"Stating the obvious." Audrey responds, winking at Eric, and attempting to suck out whatever water is left within her completely empty glass, save for a few cubes of ice.

Eric silently digs through his jean pockets to pull out his wallet, and takes out a couple 20's, setting them on the table. Sophia looks back toward Audrey, shaking her head. "Yeah, well I can't be paranoid every time someone looks at my boyfriend."

Eric can't help but to smirk, as he takes one last bite from his fried catfish platter. "Plus, Audrey's right. She's got absolutely nothing on you. You're a total babe." He says with a wink. Audrey smirks, and rests her head on Sophia's shoulder.

"Okay. Enough you two, can we please go now?" Sophia asked, burying her face into her hands, hiding her blushing as she faces down toward her empty plate.

Eric walks over, around the table, taps Sophia on the shoulder, prompting her to look up, and giving Eric the chance to steal a quick kiss on her forehead. Eric looks down at Sophia, as she looks back up at him. "You're so adorable, I can't help it."

Trotting their way down from the pier-side cafe, and wondering onto the sands below, the Sophia and Audrey pick a spot near enough to watch the action around them, yet far enough to invoke some sense of privacy from any other beach-goers. Eric returns from his nearby-parked Maserati, donning swimtrunks and t-shirt, while carrying three chairs for them to use. Sophia, almost immediately, reached down for the rim of her shirt, and lifting it up above her head, flashing her bare stomach for Eric and Audrey, still wearing just her t-shirt and CDA gym shorts, to see.

"Ow ow ow, girl." Audrey remarked, cackling and fanning Sophia with her hands. "We got a hottie ovah here!"

Sophia shakes her head, looking at Eric, as she reaches for her gym shorts and pulls them down next, stepping out of her shorts, wearing a two-piece. Eric smirks, looking over her, and glances toward Audrey. "Mind I steal Sophia for a minute?"

Audrey looks at Eric, then toward Sophia, and then back at Eric. "Sure, just no funny business. Jesus is watching you, Miss Taylor."

Sophia sighs. "Can we please--?"

"Alright, alright, alright. Fine, I'll stop there." Audrey said, smiling devilishly.

Sophia looks at Audrey for a moment longer, shaking her head. "Remind me to embarrass you back when you get a special someone." Sophia says, reaching out for Eric's hand, and grabbing hold of it, before turning and walking for the shoreline.

"NOT IF I EMBARRASS ME FIRST!" Audrey shouts back several seconds later.

Time passes by, slowly, as Sophia and Eric small-talk, admiring the view of the ocean. Then, with enough distance between them and the crowds, at a relatively isolated stretch of beach, Eric stops and reaches to touch Sophia's hips, pulling her in toward himself. Eric pauses for a moment, glances over Sophia, admiring her body for a brief moment, and working up the courage to speak to her. "There's... something I'd like to share with you. Show you, really." Eric said, his voice lowering, and letting go of her hand of a moment, and lifting up his own shirt over his head. Sophia steps back a few paces, watching, and immediately spotting a tattoo, sitting prominently on his chest. Sophia immediately recognizing the significance and symbolism of it, pauses, lifting up her hand to cover her mouth as she observes the black semicolon tattoo on his chest, and looks back up to Eric's eyes. Eric, glances down at his tattoo, and the back toward her, taking in her reaction.

"I--I had, no idea." Sophia uttered, wide-eyed, and slowly lowering her hands.

Eric smirked, extending out his hands, and approaching Sophia. He pulls her in for a tight hug. "That's, well, kinda the point." He said, pausing to muse over how he wanted to continue, looking out toward the sunset. "Very few people do. My parents know, of course, and that of the tattoo. My friend DeWayne too, but I keep quiet about it otherwise."

Sophia looks up, backing up half a foot, and runs her hands up the side of Eric's body, eventually stopping just under his rib cage. "You still struggle now?"

Eric lets out a sigh, looking back down toward Sophia, and nods his head. "Here-and-there. I'm telling you because you have a right to know, but I've since gotten a handle on things. I've been diagnosed, treated, and am still just finishing some battles." Eric pauses for a moment, reaching down to tuck a stray hair of Sophia's behind her ear, and smiling in admiration of her. "I'm telling you because you're genuinely a beautiful person, and you do inspire me. I know you're going through so much, and I never wanted to talk much about my struggles because I wanted to help you get through yours, but I wanted to show you because you've been unbelievably strong, resilient, and just... amazing."

Eric takes a step back, while Sophia just watches him, teary-eyed, and slowly walking back toward him to give him another tight hug, pressing herself against him, remaining silent as her hands rub up-and-down his back.

"You won't believe how much I've scripted and rehearsed this conversation." Eric joked, wiping a tear of his own, and rubbing her upper-back lovingly in return. "I guess I just wanted to say is that... I know what it's like to feel isolated and alone. But, no matter what happens between us, I'll be here for you." Eric added, leaning down to kiss her head.

Sophia lets go of Eric, and looks up toward him, tears streaming down her cheeks, and smiling at him. "Thank you." She said, simply, reaching for his hands, and giving them an affectionate squeeze.

Eric glances over toward Audrey, who is reclined into her chair and reading a book, and then back toward Sophia. "Guess we should head back now." Eric said, pulling Sophia in, and wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Sophia steps in, sliding into position, with one hand wrapped around his back at his waist and another reaching up to hold his hand wrapped above her shoulder, and the two of them make their way back toward Audrey, and an action-packed beach...

Curtis's Bentley
Madison Perkins

Friday, August 25th, 2017
11:01 PM

Madison glanced away, turning her cheek to allow an easy kiss on her cheek by Curtis, and looks back toward him as he clarified his point, maintaining her suggestive grin. Though her mood quickly changing as Curtis had to maneuver around a lumber truck in the thick of night, and speeding back up to pass the double-lane hogging driver. "Asshole..." Madison whispered, darting a glare over her shoulder toward the back, looking at the truck, and then positioning herself back to look at Curtis.

"Well..." Madison began, pursing her lips, and faked contemplating the options Curtis went over, though quickly transitioning back to that suggestive grin she had prior to the swerving and passing by of the previous driver. "I think you might be right, it's time for you explore, say, a different side of me." Madison responded with a wink. "Though I wonder, how wild you're willing to go with me? All these years under the reign of Agnes Hitler, and being with the most lame man imaginable... I think you might find yourself... outmatched, you might say." Madison said, ending with a chuckle.

Though Madison slowly looked over toward Curtis, reaching over, and lightly rubbing his shoulder. "Aldor at a club though, and... even being with a Perkins girl? Oh, just the sheer amount of scandal. I can't imagine."
