I'm not quite sure how Somnus's dream projection thing works, so my post might contain a few inaccuracies on that front. Let me know if there's any glaring errors, and I'll change it.

Name: Brother Josiah Jenson

Alias: The Preacher

Appearance: Jenson is a short, stout man of mixed African-American and Caucasian ancestry. His head is shaved smooth, his nose too sloped to effectively hold up his glasses. He wears a sweater and khakis, except for when he is preaching, when he wears a sleeveless t-shirt and jorts. His lips are thin and pursed, as though he is always eating a lemon. His eyes are a startling shade of hazel, closer to gold really.

His arms are covered in thin scars.

Age: 27

Personality: The Preacher is charismatic, his personality forceful, his energy boundless. He dominates any room he walks into. He is also, however, utterly insane in the most sane of ways; ruthless, demanding, and driven. He believes that his ability is a sign of the return of God, who he says blessed him with the power to make others "see the Truth".

Powers: Hematokinesis--blood control. The Preacher can manipulate any nearby blood and use it as a weapon, or armor, or something like that. He can also control people who injest his blood.

Drawbacks: He cannot manipulate the blood of others while it is in their bodies, and he cannot manipulate his own while it is in his own body. Plus, he is squishy like any other human being.

Origin of Powers: Magic.

Bio: Josiah Jenson did not have a great home life. His father was a drinker, and a fiend, with a fondness for beatings and insults. His mother was marginally better, when she was sober. So, not often. Despite this, Josiah was always a highly intelligent child, who did spectacularly in school. From a young age, he was interested in justice and religion--justice for his mother, religion because holding onto his half-baked, self-made ideals of God gave him hope to escape. Hope and anger, not a wonderful combo, and Josiah had always had issues. He was quiet in class, yes, but when he spoke it oscillated rapidly between cruelty, self-righteousness, and dismissal. He had a history of maybe-involvement when classmates were injured--nothing was proven, but Josiah Jenson was always nearby when bloodied noses and bruised shins happened.

Then, when he was 26, just shy of 27, shit changed. Josiah had been attending college in the city, trying to escape and forge a better life. Against all reason, he took a shortcut from the gas station to his apartment. He was ambushed outside an abandoned church by a mugger, who shot Josiah in the chest and robbed him blind.

But the blood would not flow. It leaked out onto his shirt, but never went past a couple inches. Josiah hauled himself up, into a hospital, and then into a new life. He experimented with his blood, and the blood of others, and came to see this as a gift. A gift from God. A weapon to cleanse the world with.

I had to keep things moving, so he can show up wherever. Somnus pulled everyone on the Roster into the same dream (plus, you can time travel in dreams), so The Blur can wake up wherever. He can wake up in Texas and Run to Chicago after the dream and run into The Hunter and Prophet because I think they still need to duke it out.

Somnus told them to seek out refuge in South Dakota, but he could have recognized Chicago from the dream, and gone looking for answers? Or he could just go to S. Dakota.
