It's a sucky spot for him, because he's seriously pinned. He declared "war" on Reed, so he can't support him, and siding with Kramer has serious problems obviously. He basically needs to if not going with Kramer either concede back to Reed or announce early himself

Whereas Faulkner would have been happy to meet with Kramer, support for his campaign is rather difficult to achieve at this point and I'm not entirely sure what Kramer could do to endear himself to Faulkner.
