History [MUST LINE UP WITH HISTORY IN "STATUS" SECTION, NOT SET IN STONE AND MUST BE APPROVED BY OPs, WRITE IT LIKE IT'S GOING IN THE "STATUS" SECTION - After the fall of the Empire of Japan, Korea was freed, but was soon to be split into two. The peninsula was split between an Soviet backed North and an American backed South. After the conflict from 50 to 53, South Korea's economy was in shambles. In this turbulent time, marked with dictators and little development. 1961, after a Second Republic of Korea was established, General Park Chung-hee took over the government in a coup d'etat. Under his 18 year reign, he saw the development of Korea's industries and rapid growth of its economy. Now one of the most developed countries in Asia, the government pushes for reunification with the north, to the disagreement of the Kim regime. With the north's nuclear capabilities, the people of the South have been wary of their Northern brothers and the trouble the conflict may cause. With the north starting to crack under pressure, reunification may be in arm's reach.

History [MUST LINE UP WITH HISTORY IN "STATUS" SECTION, NOT SET IN STONE AND MUST BE APPROVED BY OPs, WRITE IT LIKE IT'S GOING IN THE "STATUS" SECTION - Afghanistan has been a troubled nation since the period of overthrows and governments changing hands of the 60s and 70s as a part of the Cold War. Since then, insurgency of the many warlords, followed by Taliban rule and then Taliban insurgency, the country hasn't been able to have been stablised. Following the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, Taliban insurgency has been one of the largest causes of problems in the country, followed by a corrupt government and subpar military. 18 years later, peace seemed to be at hand as the Afghan government and the Taliban held a ceasefire for futher peacetalks. Afghanistan's Stanekzai and Sayyaf met with the Doha Taliban and others willing to speak for peace. The virtues of the talks resulted in the more moderate Taliban commanders would come into the democratic system peacefully and help defend the country where conventional forces do not yet have the reach, acting as a paramilitary for the government.
