Japan also started a commercial campaign to get people to join the military, this coupled with an ROTC program for poor japanese people saw a boost in the japanese military. The japanese currently field roughly 900 Tanks after purchasing 200 Leopard 2's from Germany in 2020, They currently field 2,850 APC's but have plans to get 200 by 2026 with orders from the new Kawasaki-Mitusbishi joint projects. They purchased 100 Self Propelled artillery pieces in 2023 bring them up to 300 SPA's, in addition they got 25 towed artillery pieces, giving them 525 in total. They currently field 99 Rocket Projectors. The main weapons the japanese field are M-4 Carbines and a japanese variant the K-2 Carbine.
Breakdown of naval sector - With 1 Aircraft Carrier, 3 Helicopter Carriers, 45 Destroyers, 9 Corvettes, 18 Submarines, 12 Patrol Craft, and 25 Minewarfare Vessels, the Japanese boast a large self defense fleet and with an expected addition of several more ships in the near future, the Japanese Naval expansion has been a nonstop train since 2018. In addition the navy also controls the Sonar Defense System around the island which can detect submarines within a 90-50 km radius, the system was built in 2021-2022 to detect submarines operating in Japanese territorial waters.
Breakdown of airforce sector - The Japanese have yet to make any major editions aside from a purchase of 20 Fighters from Mitsubishi in 2020, so the numbers are relatively the same since 2018. With 308 Fighters, 287 Fixed Wing Attack Aircraft, 481 Transport Aircraft, 447 Trainer Aircraft, 659 Trainer Aircraft, and 119 Attack Helicopters. History - With the LDP gaining almost a two thirds majority alone (not including their coalition allies), Shinzō Abe was able to exercise almost complete control, pushing forward the LDP agenda by begging to sign arms deals with the German and US Arms companies. They also went forward with programs to expand the military including a japanese version of the American ROTC program. In addition the japanese began to fund language programs across the world, helping teach Japanese to thousands of people. They loosened immigration restrictions, allowing people from East and South East Asia to face more laxed refugee and immigration Regulations, a move the government believed would help slow the population issue. Without support of the US, Japan bought back some of the military bases the US had on the islands, to help store and place the new equipment and troops.
