The Kurds maintain sovereignty over a part of Syrian land, unofficially let go during the Civil War to give the Syrian Government one less enemy to fight. Israel, as always, remains a large specter on the horizon. Syria struggles to regain its footing even two years after the end of the Civil War. However, reconstruction efforts are moving along decently well, and the final stubborn pockets of resistance are growing fewer and fewer.
