Unfortunately I do posting variably from my phone, home computer, and work computer- so whatever I am not using gets logged out when I log in on a different device.

Its a catch 22: You need civilian goods for a research lab, but you need Industrial Machinery for civilian goods.

Just research it without a lab. It’ll take awhile, but it’s doable.

Part I.
Faction Leader: Heinrich Waudman

Age: 26 (birth 2044)

As a military officer in the years before the war, Heinrich learned the brutal truths of warfare and human nature. The Sporadic, but brutal resource-wars that marked the latter half of the 21st Century left a clear impression on the young man. He knew that every war, every victory was but an postponing of execution. Their world was dying, resources were simply running out... Not enough to go around, it was a fight that he could not win, no matter what he did. He came to see the future of the old earth as nothing but grim as the piled up mistakes from an entire century came crashing down upon the fabric of society.

Even then He did not like the notion of leaving the place of his birth, the place where their entire species had been born... But survival allways took precidence, for him and his family. His father had been a wealthy man, developing several advancements in machinery and material science that allowed him to build a company that would eventually make billions... Enough to put him and his family on the U.N.E. Harmony as his father did not want to live the last years of his life watching the planet die a slow death. He sold his entire company to buy himself and his family a place on that ship. Knowing that even if they had to start over from nothing, atleast his children would look to the future with hope, instead of waiting for the earth to end.

The ship tumbled towards the planet and chaos reigned aboard the doomed ship, that was supposed to be a symbol of hope. Heinrich lost his nearly his entire family in the chaos, only managing to bring his little sister along with him as their escape pod ejected from the already desintigrating ship.

As he held his crying sister close, Heinrich could only watch in horror as he knew the chance that the rest of their family survived was slim to non-existant. The young man could do nothing promise himself that they would survive... No matter what they had to do.

The belief in Democracy ended with the departure from earth. The fickle nature of the populace can not be trusted with the nature of the harsh and difficult descisions neccesary to survive and to thrive. Those with the knowledge, the skills and the will to fight can lead the way to the future.

Aaaand I still need to write a story for the prelude, but I kept off those secret decks like you asked, came up with this.
