The world is once again at war, just over a hundred years after the last one ended.
On April 24th, 2020, Russian forces swarmed acrossed the Latvian and Estonian borders, surprising both the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Nevertheless, the two organizations retaliated quickly, both sending thousands of troops into their rapidly collapsing Baltic allies. Only three days later, the Russian's struck again in Finland and Turkey, both NATO nations quickly scrambling their forces.
In the South, the recently instated Pro-Russian Government in Ukraine and Moldova attacked Romania. In the Balkans, the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro attacked their neighbors once again, the small NATO peacekeeping force in Bosnia falling quickly under the coordinated attacks from the much larger Serbian Army.
In Brussels, NATO, shocked by the efficiency and coordination, of the suprise Russian led attacks, called for an emergency meeting. While this was happening, on May 2nd, Estonia capitulated to Russia after the loss of Talinn. Latvia followed three days later in surrender. Lithuania was next, with an independent force from Belarus pushing from the south. The small nation surrendered a week later.
It was at this time that NATO claimed its first victories. In Turkey and the Caucasus, the Russian Third Army had been halted by a mix of Georgian and Turkish units, halting near the border of Armenia. In the Balkans, the Serbian Army had effectively been contained and was now retreating back towards its own lands after reaching the gates of Sarajevo. In the north, a joint German and Polish force had captured Kaliningrad.
Yet, the Russian advance continued. Belarussian and Russian divisions marched swiftly acrossed Poland, before being halted at the banks of the Vistulo River, merely fifty miles away from Warsaw. Finnish units were holding strong in the face of the Russian advance, but were quickly running out of supplies. Romanian Divisions were rapidly falling back, and Ukrainian spearheads had already reached Constanta and Brasov.
By the end of the month, the war had reached a stalemate of sorts, each side trying to push the other back, to no avail. This did not sit well with Moscow. The Russian Government knew that eventually, US forces would arrive in Europe, and that would spell doom for Russia's efforts of reclamation.
Luckily for Moscow, a solution provided itself. On June 27th, a joint Chinese-North Korean force invaded South Korea. The US, seeing China as a bigger threat than Russia, began to shift its forces towards the east, leaving Europe to defend itself against Russia alone. The Russian offensive resumed as the war in the Far East raged over Seoul.
Serbiam troops reentered Bosnia and captured Timisoara in Romania, effectively forcing Romanian troops to fight a two front war. Ukraine and Moldova pushed father in Romania and entered Hungary for the first time. Russian forces recaptured Kaliningrad and began to encircle the Polish capital from the north. The Finnish line finally broke, and the routed Swedes and Finns fell back to Lahti.
After a month of steady Russian advance, the front once again halted. Volunteers from the British Isles, Iberia, Germany, and France managed to stave off the superior Russian Army, at least for the time being.
....
It is now late October, and the front still remains where it was in early August. NATO General's Staff approved of a plan set foreword by retired Colonel Daniel Higgins of the US, calling for an International group of Commandos to parachute in and undertake guerilla and sabotage actions against the Russian homeland. This small unit would be away from any support that could be given by friendly forces and would have to survive on their own for months at a time, living off the wild.
This team was selected from numerous European and North American nations and supplied with the best weaponry the alliance had to offer. They had orders to parachute into the forests of Russia, 40 miles south of St. Petersburg, and immediately begin efforts to disrupt the Russian supply train from the Urals and the Russian arms production in and around the city. If they were caught, they would be executed as spies. They are the elite, and they know the job they must do. They are Taskforce Sparrow.

Hey guys and gals, it's your OP, Hothnia. As you can probably infer from the opening text, this RP centers around an elite unit of NATO and EU soldiers that are given the tasks to act as "Partisians" or Guerilla's in a foreign land, Russia. We will center around the daily operations of this unit and will use them to attempt to disrupt the Russian war effort. Remember, if you decide to join, your decisions will affect the week being of you character.
Right, now let's get to some basic rules.
