Why not import grain from the Riverlands? We’ll have to inflate the price substantially due to scarcity and whatnot, but, with the discount we give to kith and kin, a bushel of wheat’ll only cost half its weight in gold.

Thats pretty expensive, and If I'm declared a traitor why would you risk your neck by selling me food?

Doesn't Tywin say in the books that the mines around Casterly Rock have run dry? Wouldn't that mean 100 years after the books you'd be really out of gold?

I believe that only occurs in the show, but I’ll have to check again.

It does. I checked. It's been a few years since I read the books but I'm finally watching the show. Sorry for the confusion.

The Qohor blacksmiths do, and that is where Robb Hill is currently, I'm talking about how difficult obtaining enough daggers would be, assuming daggers are the most common of Valayrian weapons

Robert Lannister’s wife is a Baelish, the granddaughter of Lord Corwyn Godsbane. Depending on the terms offered by the besiegers, he might have more than a couple reasons to assist his relatives by marriage. First, such alliances must continue to be seen as valuable if House Baelish is to maintain their trade network stretching from the Westerlands to the Free Cities. Second, family is important to Lord Corwyn and, after Arthur, Darla is his favorite. He would not be happy if she were raped and/or killed in a sack. Third, selling food is profitable, so long as they don’t get caught.

A Valyrian steel spear though? That’s manageable. Just repurpose a big thrusting knife.

I would think it would be very difficult and expensive, even for a Lannister. Plus, given the rule against custom houses having Valyrian steel weapons I don't know how the OP would feel about you trying to pull one of what is essentially thin air.

Mine isn't a custom house, and I'm pretty sure the Lannisters are rich enough to achieve this

Also, I'm currently in talks with the OP about this exact topic

It's really inconsistent, GRRM has said that there are still a thousands of V-Steel blades around the world, with a couple of hundred in Westeros, but at the same time, if Tywin Lannister, one of the richest and most powerful people of his age, wasn't able to get his hands on one, either they're a lot rarer or people just aren't willing to sell them. I'd say it'd be almost impossible, but then again, if someone can find a full suit of armour then a sword might not be that bad.

There's apparently instances of Tywin trying to buy Valyrian steel weapons from lower houses that needed money, but they turned him down. Buying a Valyrian steel weapon from someone is about a lot more than the weapon's material value. It's an incredibly rare item that a lot of people would have an emotional bond with. Gold can't buy everything.

All Valyrian Steel weapons are rare as hell; there are 10 named in the books with known locations and 7 without, so that's 17 in the known world and many of the smaller weapons have likely been reforged into swords or axes. Good luck finding any people are willing to part with; these weapons are family heirlooms, having one is a matter of prestige and pride which no amount of gold can buy.

Anyways, Robb didn't do this in a couple years, but rather collected the needed amount of daggers over a great span of his adult life, he is just now attempting to get them reforged in Qohor, something the OP seemed Ok with

I said I was okay with you getting single dagger in Qohor. And if you say Robb Hill is currently in Qohor it will take him many months to get it home.

I never said I would allow you to gather a bunch of daggers to make a blade. Do not put words in my mouth. Anyway, I’m attending a Russian concert and thus will be indisposed for a good few hours. I will look over the apps once I have returned home, hopefully I’ll complete my app as well.
