Type of Organisation: Corporation/Crime organization
Organisation Name: Finé, Inc.
How old is organisation?: 134 years
Logo / symbol (image and / or description): a stylized black-and-gold F
Basis of operation / headquarters: Surface headquarters: Callisto Towers, Urbis Forum; Illegal base: Finé Mansion, Urbis Forum
Ideology of Organisation: Profit and good taste
Brief background: Finé was founded 234 years ago by Callisto Finé, an art collector and smuggler with ties to the movement that would eventually become the Pale Legion. Finé, Inc. was originally formed as an art-selling corporation, cutting deals with promising artists to improve their net worth and reputation and selling the works of world-famous artists. Callisto Finé’s good art sense, underworld connections, and talent at bribing just the right politicians led to instant success and a revival in Agenoran interest in art. Her human supremacist views, however, led to an untimely death by assassination twelve years later.
The ownership of Finé was then passed on to Callisto’s son, Yaren Finé I, who expanded the industry to include other fineries such as precious stones, stylish clothing, and antiques. Under his son, Yaren II, the Finé family’s black market interests were combined with their surface corporation, resulting in two layers of Finé: the surface company and the underworld corporation, dealing in theft and forgery. Under Yaren II, Finé garnered more power both legally and illegally until it was one of the most successful corporations in Agenor. The Finé family name ended with Makena Finé, who married the rich politician Dalton Holderman. The Holderman family’s wealth was nearly as great as the Finés’, and the intertwining of the two lines led to a boom in Finé’s success. Dalton Holderman, a member of the Senate, was a well-known Pale Legion sympathizer, and their nephew, Barron, who inherited the corporation, immediately strengthened Finé’s ties to the human supremacist group by paying small sums of money to Pale Legion politicians in return for sponsorship and advertising. The most influential corporation in Agenor, Finé is revered in a way that simply owning an empty Finé box with the iconic F inscribed on it is a great status symbol.
In recent years, Finé has been cited for civil rights abuses of employees, but as of now no legal action has been taken.

Character Name: Reum
Age: 23
Being type (e.g. Human, Goblin): Ratfolk
Appearance (image and / or description): Rather short and skinny, with a crippled left foot. Mottled brown and grey fur with charcoal stains that never seem to come off. Wears tattered rags. The symbol of Finé is branded on her right forearm.
Place of birth: a sewer beneath the suburbs of Incaendium, the capital of Ignea
Current location: an old, seemingly abandoned warehouse in Urbis Forum that is currently occupied by Finé
Cause (what they are driven by): Reum is driven on a daily basis by her desire to improve her situation by any means possible, but her goal in life is to create what she calls her One Great Masterpiece - a single great work of art, the culmination of all her artistic skills, that would be hers alone and not passed off as the work of some other artist.
Profession: Creating art masterpieces to be sold off as works of famous artists, often forgeries of existing artworks
Skills: Art (preferred medium: charcoal), persuasion
Flaws: Unable to run or walk properly, has difficulty trusting others, lacking in empathy, no real friends
Brief background: Reum was born in a sewer under the suburbs of Incaendium in a large colony of over two hundred ratfolk. Sewer life was rough and packed; Reum never knew her parents or relatives and was forced to fend for herself, trapping and eating small creatures that happened to wander into the sewer. She relied on no one, preferring to keep her distance from the others. When she was eight, the human man who lived above the sewer discovered the colony and contacted Finé, who paid him a small sum of money to purchase the entire colony of ratfolk as slaves. Reum tried to flee when the slave dealers arrived, but was caught before she exited the sewers. Her left leg was broken and permanently crippled in the action, and the stylized F was branded onto her forearm.
Reum's colony was forced to work extracting diamonds from a mine in Andvariheim, but Reum, a cripple, was unable to work properly and worked as an unpaid janitor instead. In between janitor work, she drew on the walls with stubs of charcoal, her only pastime. As janitor, Reum overheard everyone's conversations and started a discreet information business, selling information for a scrap of food or a blanket. Sometimes she used her crippled leg to get sympathy and food from others; a schemer, she would stop at nothing to achieve her aims. Eventually Žvende Grinz, a goblin overseer, noticed the beautiful charcoal sketches dotting the walls and reported Reum's amazing artistic ability to his superiors. Reum was sent to Forn and immediately put to work drawing and painting full-time. Surrounded by humans in much higher standards of living than her, Reum realized just how much better humans' lives were than those of ratfolk. Reum is determined to someday rise above the stigma placed on ratfolk and become her true self.

Character Name: Žvende Grinz
Age: 32
Being type (e.g. Human, Goblin): Goblin
Appearance (image and / or description): Thin and wiry runt, with beady black eyes and splotchy olive green skin; brutish and dirty
Place of birth: Suburbs of Forn
Current location: a nondescript apartment in Urbis Forum
Cause (what they are driven by): Power and tormenting Reum
Profession: Art Forgery Overseer, Finé Inc.
Skills: Sneaking around and being threatening
Flaws: Easily tricked, nasty and unlikable personality
Brief background: Žvende Grinz was born into a family of twelve and was summarily thrown out of the house because of his diminutive size and detestable personality. Wandering the streets of Forn, homeless, he one day chanced across two thieves in the attempt of stealing a priceless topaz for Finé. Instead of alerting law enforcement, he made a deal with them: he would keep quiet in return for the thieves getting him a job. They agreed, and soon Grinz was a junior overseer of a diamond mine worked by ratfolk. Grinz loved his work, enjoying threatening and beating the helpless ratfolk whenever possible. Grinz enjoyed harassing one ratwoman in particular, a janitor with a crippled leg. Over time, however, he noticed the beautiful drawings that followed her wherever she went, and began to suspect she was the artist. He soon contacted his boss and was sent along with Reum back to his home city of Forn, where he was put to work overseeing Reum's work. Grinz, addicted to the feeling of power, rose in station until he was the overseer of the entire Art Forgery department. He often mentally sneered at his parents for disowning him: he was one of the most prominent goblin criminals in Finé's underworld.
Grinz's one problem in life was that he hated Reum. He held his position only because he had convinced his superiors that Reum could not continue her work without him, and so if he got rid of her he would lose his job. He is forced to torment Reum at every possible opportunity, but is afraid of Reum's power: if she reports him, he is done for. Because of this, Reum is able to manipulate him to do whatever she wants, and he resents the power she holds over him. One day, he vows, he will get rid of Reum once and for all...
