Welcome to the Empire of Agenor, a democratic confederacy of 20 formerly sovereign nations brought together over millennia of war, alliances and political scheming. Now, in an era of democracy, this complex entity is held together by something far more nefarious ... bureaucracy. Set in a modern time space, albeit in a fantastical world, this attempts to serve as a satire on not just the modern political situation, but also on the stereotypes that so often emerge in fantasies around different races, and the way in which some are assigned as good, and others as evil. What type of being you wish to play as, and how you wish for them to operate, is down to you however.

An Empire of humans, half-elves, dwarves, goblins, ratfolk, werewolves, vampires, zombies, satyrs, giants, minotaurs and trolls just to name a few, here racism, racial quotas and racial stereotypes take on a whole new meaning. Whether you are want to be a politician, police officer, criminal, author, lecturer, poet, beggar, soldier, general, entrepreneur, tourist, dentist, doctor or anything else, it is down to you. Whether your character meets these stereotypes, or challenges and subverts them is also up to you. Sure you can be a scheming ratman, involved in the seedy underbelly of criminal activity in the vast capital city of Forn, or you can be aspiring ratman politician doing his best to represent his marginalised fellow ratfolk citizens. Sure you can be a noble half-elf lecturer, vowing to teach your students a knowledge gained over decades, or you can be an ambitious half-elf entrepreneur, vowing to drive goblin squatters off a prime piece of real estate to make way for your newest casino.

For the politically ambitious amongst you the next Imperial Elections coming up, with the top job of Emperor (elected nationally for a maximum of two four year terms), 20 of the 40 seats of the Imperial Senate, and all 1 000 seats in the Imperial Assembly. Here coalition building will require more than getting like minded people on your side, but creating a coalition that incorporates varied beings or different races. It means potentially having to get werewolves and vampires to vote for the same candidate despite a long history of warfare, getting the goblin vote while not isolating dwarves, or else just pushing an extremist human-elf-dwarf supremacist message and hoping your authoritarian extremism can sweep you to the top job.

The world of Eris is a far more multipolar world than our far more unipolar / bipolar world. Widespread colonialism never occurs, and this allowed local powers to develop their own unique cultures and nations, with the aid of some collapsed ancient powers and magic, rather than being torn apart by centuries of exploitation and divide and conquer.

That said, some nations have still be able to develop into great powers on the world stage. Agenor is considered one of them, and was significant power in the world, mostly in terms of trade. It's sizeable federal army isn't the largest or best equipped, but it is not one that could be overwhelmed easily. Agenor's foreign position is thus fairly strong, while internal separatist groups are often the main threat, leading to domestic politics often playing a more important role in campaigning that world politics.

Stratocracy of Sibur

The Empire of Agenor's main rival is the Stratocracy of Sibur. The large expanse was conquered by the Ghulian (Mongolian) hordes in the 1200s, and while much of the rest of this empire of theirs fell, this vast northern expanse has held. The military and government are essentially inseparable, and the military (particularly high ranking generals) have significant political power written into the constitution and laws. Sibur were enemies of Agenor during the Great World War. They later became allies against the fascist regime during the Agenorian Civil War, after the fascist regime broke an alliance with them and invaded their territory.

Since the end of this war, the two nations have outwardly been at peace, but have been engaged in fierce economic and trade competition. In the past the two great powers have also engaged in arms races with one another, and were engaged in a space race (Sibur getting the first man in orbit, Agenor getting the first man on Artemia - Eris's moon).

Sibur has a slim majority of humans, with a large Orc population. Those orcs who join the Siburian military are welcomed in, but many object to this, and to serving a state that discriminated against them for centuries. Orcs are still discriminated against today, especially those who resist the system at the human dominated government. Violence is often enacted against this community. Most Orcish immigrants to Agenor are fleeing from Sibur to escape this violence.

Sultanate of Deshret

Agenor southern neighbour, Deshret is a vast nation mostly consisting of desert, with most cities found along the coast and in the fertile north west edge of the desert. The Sultanate is mostly human (although with a large undead population in the far east in the dried up ruins of Kemet), and the human population are known as the Maghreb. These Maghreb crossed into Agenor and established the Sultanate of Qurṭuba, which was later conquered and incorporated into the Empire. As such Agenor and Deshret had a tumultuous history, one of bloody holy wars.

Deshret and Agenor fought one another in the Great World War. Deshret later aided in the overthrow of the fascist regime during the Agenorian Civil War however. Since then diplomatic relations have ranged from fairly good to fairly bad, but have never resulted in outright war.

Deshret is a Constitutional Monarchy and is largely quite authoritarian, but has democratic elements. They follow Muhadism (based off Islam), which is the dominant religion in the Sultanate of Qurṭuba as well (while Yeshuism [Christianity] is dominant amongst the humans of most of Agenor).

Sultanate of Al-Ard

Al-Ard is located in a dry but resource rich area. Their west coast is known for some fertile areas, and the Ardari Peninsula is a remarkably oil rich area, producing much of Eris's oil. This has created a remarkably wealthy state, although one know for its own issues with income inequality. The region is mostly human, but was a large dwarven population as well, as well as a large undead population where it borders the Kemet Province of the Sultanate of Deshret. Much like Deshret, most of the human population of Al-Ard are Muhadists. The Ardari people look similar to the Maghreb people, but are generally known to have slightly lighter and slightly more Asuick (Asian) features. The Sultanate of Al-Ard has a powerful royal family, although it does have some democratic elements, with these stronger in some areas and weaker in others.

Al-Ard fought Agenor in the past in bloody Holy Wars, as the birth and death place of Yeshua are located in Al-Ard (although he was born and died some 400 years before Muhadism was founded, during the control of the old Victorii Empire). Al-Ard later sided with Deshret against Agenor in the Great World War. They stayed out of the Agenorian Civil War however. Trade relations between Agenor and Al-Ard are very good at the moment, and have been for quite a while. This has a lot to do with Agnorian dependence of Ardari oil supplies however, as without them petrol prices would skyrocket.

Republic of Zolotipolya

I didn't have space for its name, but that is the dark green nation just east of Agenor, with Sibur to the north and Al-Ard to the south. Zolotipolya is Agenor's closest and oldest ally. It has a human plurality, but has large half-elf, dwarf, orc, goblin and satyr populations. It is the only other dominantly Yeshuite nation in Eris, and this has led to Agenor and Zolotipolya often standing together over the centuries. Zolotipolya fought alongside Agenor in the Great World War, and later fought against the fascist regime in the Agenorian Civil War.

Zolotipolya is mostly based on Ukraine, but has elements based other eastern European cultures, it is also partially based off Greece. Its location between Sibur to the north and Al-Ard to the south means in is in a military alliance with Agenor. A large number of orc immigrant from Sibur flee to Zolotipolya rather than Agenor, as it is closer and doesn't require a sea crossing. The nation is known for its agriculture.

Zolotipolya is a democracy, much like Agenor, but elects a President rather than an Emperor. They have similar issues to Agenor when it comes to internal divisions along racial and religious lines, with Orc separatist, human supremacist and Muhadist political parties.

Stereotypical skills: Master climbers, see well in the dark, many known for their cunning

Ratfolk:

Average Height: 1.4 metres (male), 1.3 metres (female)
Commonly found: Mostly in poorer urban areas of Urbis Forum and other major cities, particularly in underground and sewage areas
Stereotypical skills: Good climbers, good at moving quietly see well in the dark, many known for their cunning
Stereotypical flaws: Greedy, scheming, filthy, smelly
Other notes: Disproportionally poor and involved in gangs, often looked down upon and viewed as "inherently criminal" by other races, have no official nation to call home


Zombies and skeletons:
Average Lifespan: So long as necromancy maintains undead intelligence (or at very least motion)

Vampires:

Commonly found: Almost entirely in Pădurea Morților, found as a rare aristocracy in other parts of the Empire
Stereotypical skills: Brilliantly intelligent, super strong and effectively immortal
Stereotypical flaws: Burns in sunlight, ruthless, arrogant
Other notes: A rare but disproportionately wealthy and powerful group, vampires are feared and hated by many. Known for separatist groups and hatred of werewolves (by most anyway). Vampires can create new vampires through a special venom in their bite, but this drains them of energy


Werewolves:
Average Lifespan: 70 - 100 years (Born Werewolf), however long would be in life but usually slightly extended (Bitten Werewolf)
Average Height: Varies, whatever was in life
Commonly found: Almost entirely in Awooooooo!
Stereotypical skills: Super strong, very fast and excellent fighting ability
Stereotypical flaws: Struggle to control transformation and bestial urges (Bitten Werewolf), predatory and violent (both)
Other notes: Bitten werewolves are those who transform because they were bitten and infected by a werewolf (transform under full moon). Born werewolves are those born the child of one or more werewolves (can transform at will). Known for separatist groups and hatred of vampires (by most anyway). Many victims of werewolf bites fail to survive to become werewolves themselves.


Satyrs:
Average Lifespan: 50 - 90 years
Average Height: 1.8 metres (male), 1.7 metres (female)
Commonly found: Found across much of Pădurea Vrăjitoriei
Stereotypical skills: Tough, fast, skilled musicians
Stereotypical flaws: Short tempered, heavy drinkers, impulsive
Other notes: Known for their hairy goat legs, hairy bodies and horns of various lengths, these disproportionately poor beings are often employed as builders or end up working in gangs


Minotaurs:
Average Lifespan: 60 - 100 years
Average Height: 2.5 metres (male), 2.4 metres (female)
Commonly found: Quite rare, found across much of Pădurea Vrăjitoriei and in the cities
Stereotypical skills: Huge, powerful, quite fast
Stereotypical flaws: Violent, heavy drinkers, often solve issues through force
Other notes: These huge but rare horned beings are often employed as builders, bouncers, bodyguards or end up working in gangs


Centaurs:
Average Lifespan: 100 - 200 years
Average Height: 2.3 metres (male), 2.2 metres (female)
Commonly found: Rare, found mostly in Pădurea Vrăjitoriei
Stereotypical skills: Wise, fast, excellent musicians
Stereotypical flaws: Arrogant, impulsive and distrustful
Other notes: A remarkably rare race, Centaurs are known for generally being quite secretive and withdrawn. They have produced some top scholars however.


Giants:
Average Lifespan: 100 - 200 years
Average Height: 6 metres (male and female)
Commonly found: Rare, but spread quite broadly across the rural areas of the Empire
Stereotypical skills: Huge, strong, known to have many brilliantly intelligent individuals
Stereotypical flaws: Prone to rage, consume large amounts, known to have many dimmer or violent inbred individuals
Other notes: A remarkably rare race, the few remaining giants tend to live in rural areas, and range between highly intelligent and more inbred and dim.

Name: Orcs
Average Lifespan: 30 - 200 years
Average Height: 1.8 meters (male) 1.7 meters (female)
Commonly found: Mostly in poorer urban areas of Urbis Forum and other major cities, in primarily Orcish immigrant communities. Originally mostly from the tundra, forests and cities of the nation of Sibur on the continent of Asu.
Stereotypical skills: Unmatched in raw fighting power, muscular, and deceptively good at working together, suited for high risk work in factories and the military
Stereotypical flaws: Brutish, violent, dirty, backward, overly traditional, tribal, and often looked down on as "simple" and "Inherently violent"
Other notes: The descendants of goblins and Ogres (now an endangered species). Disproportionally poor and involved in gangs, factory work, and the military. While Orcs can live to an exceptionally old age, their diet and culture is more suited for open plains or mountain living than it is for modern life, leading a disproportionate number of Orcs to develop high blood pressure and diabetes and die early. Also, despite deep-seated racial tensions, Orcish tribalism and large, cohesive family structures bears remarkable similarities to Dwarven clans.

Average Lifespan: 1 years if they live outside of their forest permanently, 1,500 - 4,000 if they stay inside of their forest regularly (exact span depending on the age and size of their forest)
Average Height: 3 metres
Commonly found: In forests
Stereotypical skills: Communication with plants and animals, control plants and animals (of their forest), intelligent, can turn into a tree
Stereotypical flaws: Have a poor grasp of time, massive fire phobia, reluctant to leave their home forests as they lose their invincibility
Other notes:
-Dryads are tall, green or brown skinned nature spirits that can live forever within the bounds of their forest. They have human features, mixed with those of elves.
-If a dryad leaves their forest for more than one lunar cycle they lose a century off of their life, though they still live longer than almost any other creature.
-Dryads can also die if their forest is destroyed.
-Dryads are usually friendly and intelligent, though some have been known to be hostile to certain species with a history of destroying forests.
-It has been known to happen that dryads will take extraordinary amounts of time to do the most mundane of tasks. Yulsa the Oaken and Hyrma the Green once spent over 20 years discussing the pesky ratman camps in Yulsa's forest, to the point where the ratmen had left nearly fifteen years before Yulsa returned.
-Dryads, while immortal until their natural death, can be injured, even to the point that they do not exist in physical form. However, the longest it has taken a dryad to reform from that state was 10 years.
-When a Dryad dies they permanently turn into a tree and a new Dryad is born from that tree


Name: Treekin
Average Lifespan: 200-2,000, only three kin confirmed to be 6,000 years old
Average Height: At least 8 - 90 meters, 90 meters being the only maximum height ever recorded in the last 937 years
Commonly found: Dense Forests and Woods.
Stereotypical skills: Near-immortality, perfect memory, strong immunity to toxic gases, extremely wise and very politically neutral, extreme strength
Stereotypical flaws: Doesn't understand basic science, slow, extremely vindictive, process time extremely slowly, poor communication since Treekin speak a dead language, Sleep for very long periods of time, Isolationists in nature.
Other notes:
-Inspired by the Ents from Lord of The Rings
-Population is so low that Treekin could be considered a endangered race, mainly because Treekin are still dormant in their sleep and die when they are cut down by lumber industries.
-Nobody looks like what a Treekin's face looks like since it is different for every species
-Treekin speak very slowly sometimes it could take hours to speak one sentence.
-The only reason why Treekin leave their forest was because their forest was cut down and the Treekin is on warpath for retribution.
-"They march until they die" or they have exacted their revenge and went back to find a new forest or wood.
-ancient cousins of the dryads.
-Relationship between dryads and Treekins are like wise men among children.
-Sequoia Treekin are the tallest Treekin to ever exist, and are only found in the most densest of forests.

Average Lifespan: fifty-four to sixty-six years.
Vital Statistics: Height of 1.2m, Mass of 14kg, Wingspan of 3.1m.
Commonly found: Confederacy of Pholoe.
Stereotypical skills: Flesh-Rending, Flight and Singing.
Stereotypical flaws: Prone to extreme, suicidal depression and despair if not they cannot gorge themselves after an hour's worth of singing.
Other notes: Largely a human-child-sized (14 kg, 1.2m tall) avian raptor (wingspan 3.1m) with the head resembling the head of a female human, capable of singing in such a manner to induce extreme emotion (classically desire/longing/lust) in those that hear it's song.

Average Lifespan: 100-200 years
Average Height: 3 feet
Commonly found: Generally live in similar places as dwarves and half-dwarves. though some can also be found in human settlements.
Stereotypical skills: Magic (they tend to be more magically inclined than dwarves), mining, and smithing, they are fairly strong for their size and stature.
Stereotypical flaws: Prone to alcoholism, often quick-tempered and stubborn

Other Notes: The Ghawl is a demon familiar, summoned to this plane of existence by a magician making a contract with certain named Djinn, in exchange for a portion of the magician’s life force equal to half the magician’s age. Should the Ghawl be killed, the magician will age the amount of time equal to the amount of life force exchanged at the summoning. The Ghawl is generally humanoid and is clothed by the magician in loose robes. It is often used for theft, misdirection and assassination.
With the death of it’s magician, the Ghawl’s intelligence is generally reduced to the level of an animal, a shy but cunning animal. It will haunt graveyards and wild places. If necessary, it will make the sound of a human infant to lure people out into the darkness.
The outer skin of the Ghawl is impervious to cutting or puncture by non-magical weapons, but it can be torn. A being with sufficient strength might be able to dislocate or tear off one or more limbs of a Ghawl. Normal weapons can kill a Ghawl if they enter it’s body through the mouth or the anus.

Death of Ghulian Khan Börgedei from natural causes back in Ghulia leads to Ghulian retreat due to competition over new Khan.

1702 - 1705 ME - Conquest of Oileán Anársa, Imperial navy blockades small island nation and Imperial forces employ similar strategy used against goblins to conquer island. Oileán Anársa incorporated into Empire.
1707 ME - Emperor Antonius the Conqueror / the Cruel passes away peacefully aged 74. Tyr Onehand of Andvariheim elected as ninth Emperor and first Dwarf emperor (aged 72) on promise of reform.
1707 - 1767 ME - 60 years of relative stability. Reforms grants goblins and ratfolk basic rights, attempts to ban their enslavement but is cut short by own political allies. Ratfolk and Goblin rebellions continue. Centaurs Chieftains given a say in vote for Emperor and enslavement of minotaurs and satyrs is banned. Vampires and Werewolves take advantage of Goblin rebellions to back rival goblin factions and increase their influence in Gudrybės Miškas.
1759 ME - Vampire backed goblin forces threaten both Tor and Andvariheim. Forces sent to defend these areas.
1761 ME - First motorised vehicle, "the steam wagon", constructed by Dwarven Engineers in Andvariheim. Model rejected by Dwarf traditionalists, but seen as popular eccentricity by some others.
1767 ME - Emperor Tyr Onehand dies peacefully (despite several assassination attempts by human supremacist groups) aged 134. Baron Hessalius Vordenburg, from Tor, is elected tenth emperor (aged 49). Industrial developments begin to lead to mass deportations of farmers from rural areas. Join military or go to cities to try find work. Industrial Revolution seen to begin.
1767 - 1787 ME - Conquest of the Vampires. Imperial forces ally with werewolves and northmen to wage war on vampires, their undead armies and goblin allies. War ends with temporary defeat of vampires. Pădurea Morților partitioned between northmen, werewolves and empire.
1788 ME - Emperor Hessalius the Grim is assassinated by a Vampire assassin Morgred the Silent aged 71. King Auguste Pégase of Regnalond elected eleventh Emperor (aged 33). Allegedly elected as weak leader more controllable by powerful backers and due to his wealth.
1789 ME - Regnalond Revolution breaks out. Famine, war and high taxes on poor sparks fury against life of luxury of the elites. Emperor Auguste flees to Urbis Forum. Revolution spreads to Victorum, and Bovaria (particularly Urbis Forum). Threatens to tear Empire apart.
1790 ME - Goblins rise up in Gudrybės Miškas, Goblin Revolution begins. Peasants revolt in Mamwlad. Imperial forces despatched to put down rebellions. Vampires Revolution begins.
1791 ME - Riots in Urbis Forum, Urbis Forum Army despatched to put down riots, but many join with protesters demanding change. People's Assembly of Urbis Forum established and take effective control over the city. Emperor effectively becomes ceremonial. King Friedrich Brannenborg of Tor and King Antonius of Ignea become the effective rulers of the Empire, while not carrying any official titles.
1792 ME - Republic of Regnalond declares independence from Empire of Agenor. Imperial forces despatched to put down rebellion. Imperial forces march on Urbis Forum itself, 1st Agenorian Revolutionary War breaks out.
1793 ME - Emperor Auguste attempts to flee Urbis Forum out of fear for his life after he is exposed to be backing Imperial forces over Revolutionary ones. Emperor Auguste the Weak is executed for treason aged 38. King Antonius Equisrum of Ignea elected twelfth Emperor (aged 38). Urbis Forum declares itself "The Republic of Urbis Forum" and declares its independence both from the Empire and the rest of the Republic of Bovaria. Duke William Coburg of Gotha in northern Regnalond crowned King of monarchist controlled areas of Regnalond.
1794 ME - Vampires drive Imperial forces out of Pădurea Morților.
1798 ME - Revolutionary Forces under General Leo di Buon take control of large parts of the the Sultanate of Qurṭuba. They are defeated late in the year by combined Imperial Forces. General Leo di Buon returns to Urbis Forum.
1799 ME - General Leo di Buon of the Revolutionary Army seizes power over the joint Revolutionary forces and territories in a coup and declares himself Consul.
1802 ME - 1st Agenorian Revolutionary War ends with victory for Revolutionary Forces. Urbis Forum, large parts of Victorum and large parts of Mamwlad and Regnalond are united as "The Republic of Agenor". Goblin Revolution continues. Tensions between the monarchist parts of the Kingdom of Regnalond (part of the Empire) and the Republic of Agenor remain very high, with an uneasy truce maintained.
1804 ME - Leo di Buon declares himself "Emperor of the Republic of Agenor" and continues building up powerful military.
1805 ME - War of the Emperors begins, when tensions in Regnalond boil over into open war. Emperor Antonius the Royalist heads the Empire of Agenor, with Emperor Leo di Buon leads the Republic of Agenor
1809 ME - Republic forces seize control of Tor and Bovaria and all of Mamwlad and Victorum, as well as pushing back royalist forces Regnalond and taking parts of Ignea, but struggle in naval battles and fail to take Elysia, all of Regnalond and any of the Dvergheim. Goblin Revolution ends with Goblin victory and Gudrybės Miškas declaring its independence from the Empire. Refusal to join the Republic of Agenor and tensions leads to goblins fighting war on border on Tor against Republican forces. Imperial Forces do well in Ignea and at sea, while struggling in Tor.
1809 - 1811 ME - 2 years mostly of skirmishes and sea battles as both sides try to replace losses in their armies.
1812 ME - Emperor Leo di Buon invades Nashzemlya with army of 700 000 in Summer. Win series of military victories and take the capital of Vsadnikagorod, only to find it abandoned and some parts had been burnt down. With winter closing in he is forced to retreat. The retreat sees thousands killed from hypothermia, starvation and ambushes. Only 120 000 soldiers return from the war, with 100 000 captured, 400 000 killed and 80 000 deserting. Nashzemlya returns firmly to Imperial hands.
1813 ME - While Republic forces continue to win victories, they begin to become outnumbered, and Imperial forces win a series of victories against Republican forces, retaking all of Regnalond and Mamwlad, much of Victorum and most of Tor.
1814 ME - Despite a number of Republican victories, larger Imperial forces retake all of Ignea, all of Tor, all of Victorum and all of Bovaria. Imperial forces regroup and surround Urbis Forum with intent to besiege city. Peace talks opened in attempt to avoid massive battle.
1815 ME - With Peace talks looking like they will fall apart, Emperor Leo di Buon uses element of surprise to attack isolated Torish forces and wins decisive battle against them. Final clash between Republican and Imperial forces comes at Battle of Châluan, with bloody but decisive Imperial victory. Emperor Leo di Buon is captured and imprisoned on a tiny island controlled by Elysia. Republican hardliners refuse to relinquish Urbis Forum, but they are outnumbered and defeated.
1816 ME - Imperial forces march on Gudrybės Miškas, 2nd Goblin Conquest begins.
1819 ME - Emperor Antonius the Royalist dies peacefully aged 70. King Friedrich Brannen of Tor elected as thirteenth Emperor (aged 49)
1827 ME - 2nd Goblin Conquest ends with decisive Imperial victory, Goblins returned under Imperial rule. Goblin and Ratfolk slaves still used in Regnalond and Victorum, but slavery banned everywhere else in Empire, most recently in Tor. Slave trade remains.
1830 ME - Three Day Revolution in Urbis Forum, commoners revolt against unpopular impose Mayor, Károlos Gorizia. Revolt ends with greater rights for the commoners and new mayor appointed.
1833 ME - Regnalond bans slavery, but implements racial segregation. Slave trade is finally banned across the Empire, but slavery itself continues. Slaves and children of slaves in Victorum remain slaves.
1840 ME - Emperor Friedrich the Abolitionist dies peacefully aged 69. Duke Óthon Wittelsbach of Bovaria was elected the fourteenth Emperor (aged 25), seen by many to be a compromise monarchist candidate who could be controlled, and wouldn't isolate any member nation too much.
1848 ME - Year of Revolutions. Republic revolts break out in Ignea. 1848 Revolution breaks out in Urbis Forum demanding more rights from commoners and the ability to elect their mayor. Revolts later break out in Tor, Victorum and Bovaria. "The Communitarian Manifesto" is written by Karl Barx, a bitten werewolf from Tor, and Friedrich Thickbeard, a dwarf from Andvariheim. Revolts are suppressed. Lewis di Buon, nephew of Leo di Buon, is elected Mayor of Urbis Forum. Only male humans, half-elves, half-dwarves and dwarves over the age of 30, and owning a house or land, are allowed to vote.
1850 ME - First working (three wheeled) car designed by Dwarven engineers in Andvariheim. Has little real application as yet however. Dwarven Engineers in Norðri develop Gatling gun, the potential of this is quickly recognised.
1852 ME - Facing massive external and internal pressure, Victorum abolishes slavery, but enforces 20 years compulsory apprenticeship for all current slaves and enforces strict racial segregation.
1853 - 1860 ME - Conquest of the North. Imperial armies march north and conquer the northmen of Svobodnaya Zemlya with aid of new Gatling guns. Emperor thens send the Imperial Navy and army to work as a combined force to conquer Tallimat Qassimasoq and the "Seal Hunters". Both nations are incorporated into the Empire. Harsh winters see the death of many Imperial soldiers, but series of forts, winter camping and summer campaigns allows steady conquest of both nations.
1862 ME - Revolt starts in Urbis Forum and spreads across Bovaria and much of the empire against new taxes on commoners to pay for expenses of Conquest of the North. Emperor Óthon the Unwanted is forced to resign aged 47. Pallas Alepoú is elected as the fifteenth Emperor and second half elf emperor (aged 80).
1864 ME - Emperor Pallas passes massive federal reforms, local governments and authorities gain greater local control. Reforms the entire political system, establishing a system whereby each nation elects two Senators (for 4 years, alternating 1 every 2 years). Controversially this includes giving goblins self-governance, and including goblin senators in the new Imperial Senate. 1 000 seat Conventus Imperatoria established as way of giving proportional power to male land owning humans, half-elves, dwarves and half-dwarves, with seats proportional to their local population. Emperor to still be chosen amongst elites however, and goblin elites given little to no say on the matter. Voting for senators and Conveners still reserved for landowning males over the age of 25 (and mostly only for humans, half-elves, dwarves and half-dwarves). Power shifts sharply from landed nobility to land-owning bourgeoise. Reforms improve working conditions somewhat, but working class still denied the vote.
1867 ME - Dwarven Engineers in Andvariheim build the first "motorised wagon", and begin to use it for transporting dwarves in the underway roads. Eccentric wealthy outsiders also begin to look at with interest.
1870 ME - Lewis di Buon, Mayor of Urbis Forum, is overthrown by an Anarcho-Communist revolution in the capital, demanding the vote for working people and the establishment of a people's republic. Establishment of Forn Commune.
1871 ME - Imperial army crushes Forn Commune with ruthless force. Further reforms made however to try appease working class.
1874 ME - Dwarven Engineers in Norðri develop Gatling gun and create first machine gun. Potential of device is quickly recognised and weapon adopted by Imperial Army.
1876 ME - Tensions between Vampires and Werewolves explode into warfare. Tensions threaten Imperial territory.
1877 ME - Empire sides with Vampires against Werewolves in Conquest of Awooooooo! Imperial Army (and their machine guns) brought to bare on Werewolves alongside Vampire and Undead forces.
1880 ME - Despite being technically defeated, Werewolves refuse to give up war and engage in bloody guerrilla war.
1884 ME - Treaty of Urbis Forum eventually ends war, with Awooooooo! and Pădurea Morților joining the Empire in return for significant special local control rules. 1886 ME - Emperor Pallas the Federalist steps down aged 104. General Otto von Leomarck of Tor, a hardened veteran and war hero, is elected as the sixteenth Emperor (aged 71). He puts together a coalition of Federalist and People's Party support. He starts a project of modernising and developing the Imperial Army, and brings tough law and order to the land. His harshness, particularly against ratfolk and goblin criminals, makes him unpopular with these groups. He uses careful diplomacy to prevent open war however.
1888 ME - Parliamentary Elections sees Federalists making alliance with minor parties to hold onto power. People's Party emerge as Opposition.
1892 ME - Interventionists force Emperor Otto "the Iron Emperor" out. King Wilhelm Brannen of Tor is elected seventeenth Emperor (aged 33), becoming the first People's Party Emperor. People's Party sweeps to victory in Parliament.
1893 ME - Emperor Wilhelm orders massive expansion of military and institutes two years national conscription for all males after turning 18. Strengthens ties with (then Kingdom of) Zolotipolya, signs defensive alliance with Kingdom as plan to address potential Siburian and Ardian aggression.
1894 ME - Socialist Party founded as merger of Workers of Agenor (Trade Union coalition) and Social Democrats. Organise massive protests demanding that working class males be given the vote. Internal splintering between those wanting to limit this to humans, half-elves, dwarves and half-dwarves, and those who wanted it to apply across the board. Suffragette movement gains speed at same time, with some in the Socialist Party and Federalist Party supporting giving women the vote, while others opposing this move.
1896 ME - Brutal suppression of Workers protest in Urbis Forum by police leave 89 protesters and 7 police dead. Mass boycotts and stay-aways cause industrial slowdown, and threaten Emperor's position. Federalist Party sweep to victory in Parliamentary election, but Emperor Wilhelm remains as Emperor (no election). People's Party act as Opposition in Parliament.
1897 ME - All human, half-Elf, Dwarven and half-Dwarf males over the age of 21 are given the right to vote as a way to try appease a large part of the working class, while not extending these rights to all in part as way to divide working class. Socialist Emancipation Party splits from Socialist Party demanding equal voting rights for all males, while Socialist Party accepts reforms. First Airplane created by Dwarven engineers in Anvariheim.
1898 ME - Socialist Emancipation Party helps organise protests against voter disenfrancisement and segregation across the Empire. These are widely accepted and cheered on in Goblin and Werewolf controlled areas, but these are mostly put down violently by the police and local authorities in areas controlled by humans, half-elves and Dwarves. Socialist Emancipation Party is banned in many nations, but remains legal in Urbis Forum, Qurṭuba, Mamwlad, Nashazemlya, Svobodnaya Zemlya, Tallimat Qassimasoq, Pholóē, Gudrybės Miškas, Oileán Anársa and Awooooooo!
1900 ME - 1900 Parliamentary Elections sees number of Socialist Candidates elected and party gaining third place, Federalist Party narrowly holds control of Parliament with People's Party in opposition. Emperor Wilhelm remains in position as Emperor (no election). Socialist Emancipation Party wins handful of seats.
1901 ME - Suffragette movement becomes increasingly vocal about demanding women's rights, confronting politicians and interrupting debates and meetings when are not heard out. Movement finds allies among the Socialist Emancipation Party, but demonised elsewhere and several prominent leaders arrested. Emperor Wilhelm signs trade deal with Empire of Nihon, and starts selling weapons and ships to the far-eastern nation as a way of destabilising his Siburian rivals, boosting local industry, creating jobs and strengthening the economy. The move proves popular.
1904 ME - People's Party returns to power in Conventus Imperatoria as Socialist Party and Socialist Emancipation Party split the Federalist vote. Increasing wins for the Socialists in the Senate leaves no party with majority, leading to Coalition between Federalists and Vampires. Emperor Wilhelm remains in position as Emperor (no election).
1904- 1906 ME - Khanate of Sibur suffers humiliating loss at hands of Empire of Nihon, with Agenorian weapons and ships helping Nihon defeat the underdeveloped and poorly armed Siburian forces. It is only the Ghulian Riders and Orcish Fanatics that restore some Siburian pride by winning single ambush victory against Nihon that restores some pride. Khan signs peace treaty, causing widespread opposition amongst people.
1906 ME - Undead Revolt in Pădurea Morților, with Zombies and Skeletons demanding pay and demanding voting rights. Call for an end to "undead slavery" by Vampires. Protests are brutally crushed by Vampires and by their Zombie and Skeleton Soldiers who have remained loyal.
1908 ME - Alliance between the the Sultanate of Deshret, the Sultanate of Al-Ard and the Sultanate of Nadiya (Alliance of the Sultans) causes alarm in much of Agenor and Zolotipolya. Move gains some support in Qurṭuba. Fears of war. Fear causes even greater military build up. Pacifist Position of Socialist Party leads to fall in popularity in 1908 Parliamentary Election, while the People's Party wins back control of the Senate and holds onto the Conventus Imperatoria. Emperor Wilhelm at high point of popularity.
1910 ME - Empire of Agenor allies with Empire of Aksum and signs defensive past as way to counteract Alliance of the Sultans. Famine hits Sibur
1911 ME - Khan of Sibur suggests possible alliance with Agenor against the Alliance of Sultans, he is overthrown in military coup. General Timur established as Supreme Leader of Stratocracy of Sibur, and seizes much land from wealthy farm-owners, passing it on to lowlier peasants. Orcs offered chance to bend the knee or be destoryed. Some agree and become top warriors. Others oppose. First Purges of the Orcs begins. Orcish refugees flee to Zolotipolya and Agenor, but are mostly rejected and shut out. Timur secures alliance with Empire of Huaxia and the Empire of Giok Nusantara to form the Great Eastern Alliance

The Great Eastern Alliance secures a non-aggression pact with the Warriors of the Old Ones, and begins trading weapons to them.
1912 ME - 1912 elections see People's Party and Federalist Party enter "Grand Alliance" to stand unified against threat of possible coming war. Socialist Party struggles with more pacifist message. Zolotipolyan troops put down rebellion in their small southern Duchy of Boznia after its dominantly Magrebi population try to declare independence, with fears that they will ally with the Sultanate of Al-Ard. Mobilisation of troops so close to the border causes further deterioration of relations between Al-Ard and Zolotipolya. Agenorian troops dispatched in Boznia to help keep peace.
1913- 1922 ME - Great World War:
1913 ME - Crown Prince Ferdinand is assassinated by Boznian separatists while visiting Sarayovasi in Boznia. Zolotipolyan troops respond by starting purge of groups with ties to separatists. This violence includes the killing of some Ardian immigrants, the sacking of the Ardian embassy in Zolotipolya and killing of the Ardian ambassador by Zolotipolyan protesters. This causes demand for immediate disbandment of Zolotipolyan Army by Al-Ard, as well as granting of Boznian independence. Zolotipolya refuses. War declared between the two nations. The Alliance of Emperor's and the Alliance of Sultans declare war on one another. Nihon mobilisation is used as an excuse by the Great Eastern Alliance to declare war on the Alliance of Emperors. The Warriors of the Old Ones mobilise, and declare war of the Alliance of the Free. Huaxia push into Nadiya, causing open war between the Great Eastern Alliance and the Alliance of Sultans. Agenorian troops dispatched to Zolotipolya to defend ally. Initial advances quickly reduced to built in trench warfare. Machine guns prove to devastating for battle in open field. Warriors of the Old Ones win series of victories against the Alliance of the Free.
1914 - Agenorian and Zolotipolyan forces face battle on two fronts, facing Siburian forces in the north and east, and Ardian forces in the south. Extremely costly trench warfare becomes the norm. Aircraft begin to be used quite significantly militarily, with pilots dropping hand bombs and firing at one another. Agenorian navy does well at sea against Deshret navy, but have to rush to allies aid after Zolotipolyan navy is near destroyed by Ardian Navy. Deshretian forces arrive to aid Ardian's on southern fornt. Aksum invades south eastern Deshret (start of Deshret front). Nadiya and Huaxia clash on their border in the west of Hauxia, while Nihon invade Huaxia along their eastern coast. Nihonese navy devastates divided Huaxian navy, with Nadiyan navy doing similarly in the west. Giok Nusantara send navy to fight Nihonese navy and suffer a decisive defeat. After this Giok Nusantara acts far more defensively, using its navy to defend its islands and mostly stays out of the war. Warriors of the Old Ones win series of victories against the Alliance of the Free.
1915 ME - Agenroian troops make push for key strategic Sīna Peninsula that separates Deshret and Al-Ardin an attempt to halt troop movement between the two nation. Year long campaign sees Agenor suffer bloody defeat on both land and sea, but sees heavy casualties on both sides. War drags bloodily on. Tawantinsuyu takes capital of Amaru Mayu, but armies of Amaru Mayu turn to guerilla warfare against enemy, and have great success with this.
1916 ME - Elections in Agenor delayed because of the war. Agenorian troops and navy withdrawn from Sīna. Siburian troops make push on historical Zolotipolyan city of Peremoha, dragging Zolotipolyan forces into bloody fight to the death to defend famous city. Agenorian forces make push into Siburian territory itself to try ease pressure on ally. Start of what will be years long battles at Zaplavy and Peremoha. Agenor creates first "tanks" (machines built in secret and kept in crates with "water tank" written on them) and brings to bear in battle of Zaplavy to some effect. Other nations shiftly begin developing their own tanks. Nihon makes major territorial gains in Huaxia while Huaxian army remains split on two fronts. Tawantinsuyun troops in Amaru Mayu find themselves surrounded and cut off, and many begin to try fight their way home. Haudenosaunee adopts a similar strategy against Yucata, retreating forces and drawing Yucata into forests, only to ambush them and use gueilla warfare to cut them off and demoralise them.
1917 ME - War drags bloodily on. Nihon gets close to taking capital of Huaxia. Siburian troops help ally to fight Nihonese troops to bitter stalemate. Long grinding war starts here while Nihonese troops push south into the rest of the country. Nadiya pushes into Huaxia in the west. Deshretian and Ardian push from the south takes Boznia and gets within striking distance of Zhytnytsya, Zolotipolyan capital. Zolotipolyan forces retreat from Peremoha, and Agenorian troops fall back from Zaplavy as Siburian's advance. Both battles have lasted nearly 18 months. Tawantinsuyu send second invasion into Amaru Mayu to try save the first one. Second invasion force becomes bogged down and faces ambushes. Yucata faces heavy losses against Haudenosaunee.
1918 ME - Zolotipolyan royal family flees to Agenor. Agenor pulls most troops from Zolotipolya, along with a number of Zolotipolyan officials and troops, but famously leaves several Goblin, Ratfolk, Satyr and Zombie Regiments behind to help hold Zhytnytsya. Siege of Zhytnytsya lasts for four bloody months, with Sibur signing truce with Deshret and Al-Ard and joining in a joint siege. Defiant hold out ends when civilians revolt against royal government (what is left of it) and overthrow it. A number of exhausted and abandoned soldiers join revolt. Others and Agenorian forces go on fighting. Revolutionary Republican government established in Zolotipolya and treaty of Zhytnytsya signed, giving Al-Ard control of Boznia, giving Sibur territorial gains in the north, disbanding most of the Zolotipolyan army and allowing military access to Sibur, Al-Ard and Deshret. In return the new government receives military support, and soldiers who willingly disarm are allowed to return to civilian life. Agenor called on to surrender or face death of (mostly goblin, ratfolk, Satyr and zombie) POWs. Emperor Wilhelm refuses, and executions go ahead. Sibur abandons Great Eastern Alliance (causing it to break up) and acts as an ally of the Alliance of Sultans. Nadiya pushes deeper into Huaxia in the west, while Nihon takes the capital in the east, forcing the Huaxian Emperor to flee. This leads to his removal, with the First Republic of Huaxia established in his place. Agenorian navy fights off invasion attempts by Al-Ard and Sibur. Deshretian forces sent south to try drive Aksumite invasion out of south-east. Tawantinsuyu pulls what forces it can out of Amaru Mayu, and instead turns to a defensive plan, building fortifications against a potential counter attack. Amaru Mayu celebrates victory. Yucata tries burning forests in Haudenosaunee to smoke enemy out, but this helps unite popular hatred of Yucata, and more and more commoners join guerilla war efforts against them.
1919 ME - Ratfolk Rebellion starts in Urbis Forum over poor treatment of Ratfolk community and of Ratfolk soldiers. Similar protests start among Goblins, Satyrs and Zombies. Socialist Emancipation Party becomes prominent rallying banner of these protests. Soldiers brutally crush rebellions. Socialist Emancipation Party banned in Urbis Forum. Agenorian Navy continues to defend Agenor from invasion. Agenor sends invasion force into Zolotipolya to try take oil fields there, but face massive opposition and struggle against combined Siburian and Zolotipolyan forces, with Ardian support. Invasion force pulled out after facing heavy losses. Sultanate of Nadiya and the Republic of Huaxia sign peace treaty, in return for Nadiya taking control of a disputed wealthy province formerly under Huaxian control in the south west. Huaxian forces turn to concentrate on halting Nihonese advance in east. Facing heavy losses and unpopularity at home, Yucata withdraws forces from Haudenosaunee.
1920 ME - Parliamentary Elections delayed, officially because of the war. This causes an outcry from many now opposed to war and leads to massive protests nationwide. Aksumite forces retreat from Deshret, taking looted goods with them. Aksumite army and navy fends of attempted invasion by Deshret. Peace treaty reached in return for Aksum leaving the Alliance of Emperor's. Agenor and Nihon remain last two members of Alliance of Emperors. Nihon and Huaxia draw up battle lines and trench warfare begins in earnest across Huaxia. Deshretian and Al-Ardian forces able to get past Agenorian Navy and land in the Sultanate of Qurṭuba in southern Agenor. The Sultan declares his neutrality, and allows the forces to prepare for their push on Urbis Forum, but does not join forces against Emperor. Imperial Army rallies to face threat, and trenches quickly dug along southern Ignea. War starts on Agenorian soil.
1921 ME - Deshretian and Ardian forces push north west and take Pholóē, with Satyr revolts helping clear the way for them. They are welcomed by the goblins in Gudrybės Miškas, who make no attempt to halt their progress. The forces then push east from here over the mountain passes towards Tor, where defenses are quickly made against them. The Federalist Party leaves the Grand Coalition, and starts calling for peace. Emperor Wilhelm faces increasing unpopularity. Riots start up again in Urbis Forum. Nihon and Huaxia fight one another to a bloody stalemate, although Nihon is able to make some gains. The experienced Nihonese army are proven veterans by now, but have begun to become war weary. Huaxian peasant revolt threatens new Huaxian Nationalist Government.
1922 ME - Agenorian forces fight Deshretian and Ardian forces to bloody stalemate. Riots in Urbis Forum spread, and threats of all out Agenorian Revolution. After some eight years of open war, Huaxia and Nihon sign peace treaty. In return Nihon keeps its territorial gains. Huaxia moves its capital as a result. This provokes even more disdain for the Emperor. Nihon leaves Alliance of Emperors as a victor. Increasing war weariness, and failure to pay soldiers leads to threat of mass desertion of Agenorian soldiers. Riots threaten to bring Agenor to its knees. Political coup forces Emperor Wilhelm the Disgrace to resign aged 63 on the 9th of November, and he goes into exile in Aksum along with the deposed Zolotipolyan royal family. Federalist leader John Bell of Regnalond is swiftly instated at eighteenth Emperor by Imperial Parliament as a compromise between the Federalists, Socialists, Minority Parties and reformists in the Peoples Party, and pushes for signs promise of surrender. Treaty of Peremoha signed on 11th of November by leaders of Sibur, Deshret and Al-Ard. The treaty demands the significant downsizing of the Imperial army to a purely defensive and ceremonial force, the reduction in the size of the Agnorian navy, and the paying of war reparations.
End of Great World War
1923 ME - February 1923 Elections held to elect both the new Parliament and new Emperor. Protests from suffragette movement and women factory workers (who had filled these roles during the war) ensure vote is extended to all human, half-elf, dwarf and half-dwarf citizens over the age of 21. New policy adopted whereby Emperor must stand for re-election every 4 years. The Socialists surge from third to first place, but need to form a coalition with the second place Federalists to control Parliament. The People's Party slump to third place and become the official opposition. The Socialist Emancipation Party comes 4th. Socialist Party leader Fredrick Ebert of Urbis Forum is elected as the nineteenth Emperor (aged 52) in the second round of voting, defeating incumbent Emperor John the Peacemaker. Frederick becomes the first Emperor from a working class background, and the first Emperor elected from Urbis Forum as an nation (others were elected from the city when it was part of the Republic of Bovaria). Emperor John becomes the shortest serving Emperor, being in office for just over two months. John Bell is named by Emperor Frederick as his "Caesar", and goes on to act as essentially as deputy Emperor. Facing pressure to sign the Treaty of Peremoha, which threats that the war will resume if they do not, John Bell signs the treaty in June 1923. Protests demanding equal voting rights for all races continue. Ebert faces political attacks from both the left (who call him a sell out) and from the right (who call him a traitor). Far-right "Movement for Racial Purity" fouded by Alred Rolar, who claims to be a pure elf. Party acts as staunch rejection of Treaty of Peremoha, stressing of "racial purity" and of "inherent superiority of the elven and human races, as well as the relative intelligence of the dwarves".
1924 ME - The recently formed far-right "Movement for Racial Purity" stages an attempted coup in Victoria, but is shut down by police. Alred Rolar is arrested and is later sentenced to five years in a rather cushy prison by a sympathetic judge. He ends up only serving eight months before being released on good behaviour.
1925 ME - After just two years in office, Emperor Frederick the Democrat / the sell-out dies aged just 54 from an illness. Caesar John Ball suggests his return to the position of Emperor, but his unpopularity leads to his calling of an early election. This starts the tradition of holding elections for the Conventus Imperatoria every two years, while keeping the election of Emperor and for Senate to every 4 years. Celebrated wartime leader, Field Marshal Paul Beneckburg of Tor (aged 77), runs as an independent who will bring "security and stability" back to the Empire, and gets the backing of the People's Party and numerous right wing parties to be Emperor, winning in the second round against the Socialist candidate to become the twentieth Emperor. In the Conventus Imperatoria the People's Party surges back to first place off angry reaction to the Treaty of Peremoha, but they still have to form a coalition with the third place Federalists to govern. The Socialists act as the official opposition after coming second, facing a growing split with more voters turning to the fourth place Socialist Emancipation Party. New Parliament cuts regulations on businesses and banks and slashes taxes in the hope that this will stimulate growth. Ardian markets start loaning the indebted Agenorian government money in return for interest payment, as a way to ensure the indebted nation can continue to run its basic services while affording to pay off its war reparations to Al-Ard, Sibur and Deshret. Socialist Emancipation Party unbanned in Urbis Forum. Easy loans become the norm, spurring growth.
1927 ME - First midterm Parliamentary elections. Economic prosperity in Elysia sees the Federalist Party making some gains, balancing out losses to the People's Party to allow the 2nd and 3rd place parties to continue to govern in a coalition. The Socialists make their way back to first place, opposed to massive public sector spending cuts, but fail to win a majority and remain as the official opposition. The Socialist Emancipation Party continues to grow, helping to split the Socialist vote. Racial Purity Party runs, but does poorly in most places. Alred Rolar is elected in a poor mostly human urban seat in Victroia on an anti-Treaty of Peremoha and human and elven supremacist message. Easy loans continues to see glut of growth and prosperity, but also increasing amount of personal and national debt. Nationalists in Republic of Huaxia attempt to purge Socialist Peasant Party from position of power, sparking off Huaxian Civil War.
1929 ME - Slow down in industry and ever heightening debt leads to fears of crash from some economists, but captains of industry promise to use personal finances to handle any such crisis. Emperor Paul "the Good" is re-elected with the joint backing of the Federalist and People's Party, winning against the Socialist Party candidate. In Parliament the Federalist Party works its way back up to second place, bumping the People's Party down to third place. The two parties continue to work as a coalition. The first place Socialists gain ground, but remain as the official opposition. The Socialist Emancipation Party grows, remaining in 4th place. The Racial Purity Party grows marginally. The industrial sector continues to slow down, and drought causes an agricultural slow down both in Agenor and internationally. In September stock prices begin to fall internationally, and in October they bottom out, with many stocks in Agenor becoming essentially worthless overnight. This sparks a crisis in Al-Ard, which in turn results in Al-Ard ceasing their loaning programs to Agenor and demanding repayment of debts by Agenor. This causes further panic and devaluation in Agenor, as citizens start trying to withdraw their savings and investors try to sell their shares.
1930 ME - Drought intensifies in Agenor, causing many farmers to have to sell their farms. Many banks start going bankrupt and are liquidated, and the savings in them by investors are lost. Parliament remains uncertain of what to do, and instead becomes embroiled in debate over whether they should and how they should pay back debt to Al-Ard. People's Party and Socialist Party work together to impose steep tariffs to try develop local industry, causing massive decline of international trade, that ends up deepening crisis. Federalist Party and Socialist Party end up working together to pay off debts to prevent open war, but this is only achieved through sharp rise in taxes. This causes further panic among business owners, who intensify laying off of workers. Unemployment rises by about 33%. Average citizens stop buying as much and face massive debt, causing massive economic slow down. Currency devalued to pay workers, leading to hyper-inflation.
1931 ME - Parliamentary Elections sees Socialists forming coalition with Socialist Emancipation Party to take Conventus Imperatoria, while People's Party and Federalist Party hold Senate, leading to deadlock. People's Party come second pushing for further tariffs and military growth, but skirt around issue of Treaty of Peremoha. Federalist Party runs anti-tariff campaign, slumping to fifth place in the Conventus Imperatoria, while Racial Purity Movement and Socialist Emancipation Party surge to 3rd and 4th place respectively. Racial Purity Movement becomes popular among poor working class conservatives, and sharply rejects the Treaty of Peremoha. Unemployment continues to grow. Political deadlock leads to lack of action. Nihonese stage fake terrorist attack in Huaxian territory, and use this as an excuse to send troops in and occupy further Huaxian territory, establishing a puppet regime in northern Huaxia.
1933 ME - Imperial Elections sees Emperor Paul "the Good" (People's Party, Federalist Party and Independent backing) facing off against a joint Socialist / Socialist Emancipation Party candidate in the second round, who announces plan to extend vote to all races as way to secure vote. Racial Purity Movement becomes largest party in Conventus Imperatoria, winning support among unemployed humans and half-elves, and among middle class terrified of Socialist control. Alred Rolar comes in a narrow third in the Imperial Election just behind the joint candidates, and backs 2nd place Emperor Paul "the Good" against the Socialists in return for being supported as Chancellor of the Conventus Imperatoria. Aged Emperor Paul "the Good" holds position narrowly, and Racial Purity Movement (RPM) takes control of Convetus Imperatoria in coalition with People's Party (PP). Socialist Party and Socialist Emancipation Party form opposition, with Federalist Party as a minor opposition party. RPM-PP alliance authorise massive military build up, and cease with reparation payments required under Treaty of Peremoha, ignoring the checks and balances of the Senate and acting without their authorisation. Military build up helps create new jobs, but further bankrupts already indebted nation. Demands are made to respect the treaty, but these are ignored. Internal issues prevent real response.
1934 ME - Imperial Parliament building set on fire, allegedly by radical Socialist Emancipationist ratman. Socialist Emancipation Party banned as a terrorist group, and numerous leaders arrested or forced into exile. Senate Chamber so badly damaged that Senate is temporarily suspended. Conventus Imperatoria holds vote to disband itself and give emergency executive power to Chancellor Alred Rolar. Socialists and Federalists, and handful of People's Party Conveners, oppose. They are outvoted by the RPM and the majority of the People's Party. Emperor Paul "The Useless" signs off on the move without approval from the suspended Senate. All parties but the RPM and PP are banned. Anti-fascist protests, both peaceful and violent, break out. A few months later, Emperor Paul "the Useless" passes away aged 86. Chancellor Alred Ridder declares himself the twenty first Emperor of the Empire of Agenor (aged 45), but promises to hold elections in 1937. Neville Chambers, the People's Party leader from Regnalond, backs the move.
1935 ME - Laws are passed removing a slew of rights from Goblins, Ratfolk, Satyrs and the Undead, who are all blamed for the Agenorian defeat in the Great World War. Goblin, Ratfolk and Satyr rebellions put down with brutal force. Military continues to be expanded. Pro-democracy protesters demand 1935 elections go ahead, but the elections are "postponed". Emperor Alred "the Almighty" meets with Nihonese Emperor to rebuild "Alliance of Emperors". Nihon begins its own massive military build up. Sibur turns its attention east, to Nihon, and so does not intervene over breaking of treaty. Deshret, Al-Ard and Nadiya busy facing internal issues and trade disputes, and so do not intervene either.
1936 ME - Urbis Forum placed under martial law. Military build up continues. Sir Winston Temple, a member of the People's Party opposed to Emperor Alred, calls on him and People's Party leader, Neville Chambers, to resign. Goblins start building up forces in Gudrybės Miškas. Werewolves and Undead also begin building up forces. Ratfolk building up forces.
1937 ME - Emperor Alred proposes to hold election, but only Neville Chambers is given clearance to run against him. Vote is further limited to only party members of the RPM and PP, and even then "dissident members" like Sir Winston Temple, are barred from voting. Massive protests break out and several nations demand that Alred resign or that they will break away from the Empire. Imperial Forces sent in to put down uprising. Great Agenorian Civil War begins. Tensions in Huaxia boil over between Huaxia and Nihon, and Great Eastern War begins.

Profession: History student at Urbis Forum University (UFU), bartender at "The Silver Bullet"
Skills: Intelligent, imaginative, passionate, sympathetic
Flaws: Head often in the clouds, easily distracted, not particularly strong, a little lazy, delusions of grandeur, fear of blood
Brief background: Born into a poor family in the West Gutter slum, the 3rd of 9 children, Squeek proved to be quite an intelligent and imaginative rat from an early age, getting good marks in school. From a young age Squeek was fascinated in history as well as in stories in general, and dreamed of becoming an author. As a rat in a poor family however, he was expected to help support it however, and ended up working in an old public library to help fund the family. When this was later shut down due to funding constraints, the 16 year old Squeek instead started working as a bartender in a seedy ratfolk pub, "The Hard Cheese". With dreams of studying history at University, Squeek was able to earn a scholarship and enrolled in the University at the age of 18, moving to live with a group of other poor students in a hovel in Greytown nearer the university. Here he started working at a bartender at a seedy human owned bar frequented by many races, "The Silver Bullet", as a way to try pay basic expenses and help cover the parts of his tuition not covered by the scholarship. He still dreams of becoming an author, a historian, or maybe even a politician, but, for now at least, he is stuck in a dead end job in a seedy little bar, while trying to do his Masters in History.

Ok, I do have some limited internet access here, so I will likely be able to accept applications for now. If we get significant interest in the politics side of things I will make the outgoing Emperor, who can not stand for re-election as she has served her maximum two terms (and is suffering a dip in popularity anyway). If we don’t I might include her anyway for background, but I’m not sure yet.

Stereotypical skills: Communication with plants and animals, control plants and animals (of their forest), intelligent, can turn into a tree
Stereotypical flaws: Have a poor grasp of time, massive fire phobia, reluctant to leave their home forests as they lose their invincibility
Other notes:
-Dryads are tall, green or brown skinned nature spirits that can live forever within the bounds of their forest. They have human features, mixed with those of elves.
-If a dryad leaves their forest for more than one lunar cycle they lose their immortality, though they still live longer than almost any other creature.
-Dryads can also die if their forest is destroyed.
-Dryads are usually friendly and intelligent, though some have been known to be hostile to certain species with a history of destroying forests.
-It has been known to happen that dryads will take extraordinary amounts of time to do the most mundane of tasks. Yulsa the Oaken and Hyrma the Green once spent over 100 years discussing the pesky ratman camps in Yulsa's forest, to the point where the ratmen had left nearly thirty years before Yulsa returned.
-Dryads, while usually immortal, can be injured, even to the point that they do not exist in physical form. However, the longest it has taken a dryad to reform from that state was 30 years

Brief background: Elvrynna (Lets shorten it to just Rynna) was born on Umbrastone Street, a lower-class community in Urbis Fourm that is not populated by a specific race, but several. Her father was an 'alchemist' who died in a bar fight, while her was mother was member of the oldest profession. While alive her dad cared little for his daughter, but wasn't abusive. Her mother was distant from her child and though not strict, yelled and sweared constantly, always seeming stressed out. Elvrynna was a weird kid, or at least was perceived as one. Any attempts to fit in flopped, and she didn't grow up right, so she resorted to being an asshole to anyone who judged her and slipped lunch money out of kids pockets because she didn't register right from wrong. When her father died, she didn't even shed a tear. In middle school he never took drugs or alcohol unlike many though.

This looks interesting, and would add another dimension to plans for cutting down old forests to make was for new developments. That said I’m a bit hesitant about the immortality idea. I’d be ok with Dryads being a very rare group, the last remaining relics of an older age, who can live for up to thousands of years by drawing their energy through forests (and protecting them in return), but immortality is a bit of a stretch. Maybe also make them particularly more shortlived and vulnerable if they leave forested areas entirely (let’s say no more than a year). Othwise I’m happy :)

Looking good, once you have a brief background done I’ll accept.

When it comes to age, I’m going to say that elves (particularly half elves) have a similar rate of maturation to humans (and that all intelligent races get the vote from age 18 up). Amongst races that live longer, being respected as an experienced adult, and particularly as and experienced elder will usually take longer, but officially the age of legal adulthood remains the same across the board.

When it comes to magic, I’m going to say that it does exist, but requires years of hard study to master even fairly limited spells. Truly powerful spells require decades of focused study and practise to master. Let us also say that casting a spell requires using personal energy and strain, so that casting a fairly powerful spell leaves the caster physically exhausted.

Dark elves as a sub-group of elves is all good. Pure elves are increasingly rare however, and most have some human or other races descendents. You can be an elf from “pure” ancestry, but again these are very rare and more likely to simply be claims being made by elven supremacists.

Otherwise all good.

He is tall, standing at 1.95 meters, and sports long brown hair and a trimmed, elegant and curled mustache and beard that would have been pretentiously outdated and aristocratic were it not for today's hipster culture. He has the build and posture of a soldier, and the demeanor of one to match. If it were not for his rebellious attitude, he would best be described as "rigid".

Like most vampires of Pădurea Morților, Abel is perpetually suited, but rejects the color black, which he described as "almost a trope" of the race and "only suited for weddings and funerals". He generally wears a hat or carries an umbrella to avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Brief background: Baron Abel von EIsenberg is the son of Franz von Eisenberg the Margrave of the Everpeaks. He is the "first-born", meaning that he was the first selected by the Margrave. Like most Vampire families, this meant that he and his siblings were chosen from the populace of their territory and groomed to be the successors of their Lord, before being transformed. As the son of a Margrave, he was expected to enroll in one of the many prestigious military academies before eventually enlisting.

Abel enrolled and received stunning marks and recommendations, and was enlisted as a Captain. Due to a series of political events and emerging rivalries between eastern and western Vampires in the military, however, Abel was assigned command of a poorly equipped and extremely diverse unit, instead of the traditional arrangement of an army composed of the undead, as to avoid racial tension. Initial tension, however, gave way to an unprecedented level of unit camaraderie that was unexpected and appalling to the military elite. Abel's unit and abilities, despite stellar battlefield performance and remarkable racial egalitarianism, never earned him promotion.

During his time in the military, Abel found a friend and confidant in the undead Maghrebi Mohammed Abdelmajid Othmani, or "Moe". He keeps a relatively well maintained beard and mustache.

"Moe" generally wears an old but well fitting denim boiler suit, an older and outdated tan military-issue coat, and heavy, steel-toed brown leather boots. He carries, in various pockets, small quantities of lavender dipped in musk tincture, which give off a strong odor to combat the smell of death.

Born to a poor farmer in the Sultanate of Qurtuba, many years ago, he eventually found his way out of the southern states and into the capital of Forn, where he first made his living as a street hustler, relying on the underground economy of day-jobs and dealings with unscrupulous characters. One day, he sold a carpet of dubious origins to a werewolf gangster, who "sniffed out", both literally and figuratively, his misdeed. He was marked for death, and a year later was found dead while on the run in Pădurea Morților.

For "Moe", however, the story did not end there. He was given a second chance at life, despite not quite asking for it, by vampires who didn't intend to give him much choice as to what he would spend his newly found and artificially restored vitality on. He joined the ranks of countless other zombies of the region, but only months before the Empire began to enforce the rights of the undead in earnest in Pădurea Morților.

"Moe" enlisted in the army, and displayed remarkable intelligence and bravery in numerous battles. Some more open-minded officers remarked on this and pushed for his promotion, but were dismissed because of racism against the undead and Maghrebi humans. Only many years later, under Captain Abel von Eisenberg, the son of a Vampire Margrave, was he promoted to the rank of Sergeant. The two forged a friendship largely based on the duality of their personalities. Moe was more grounded, realistic, and cynical, whereas Abel was almost blinded by his own passions at times.

When Abel was honorably discharged, Moe left the service to join him. The two wandered the Empire for years before Abel's political ambitions brought them both to Urbis Forum.

This looks interesting, and would add another dimension to plans for cutting down old forests to make was for new developments. That said I’m a bit hesitant about the immortality idea. I’d be ok with Dryads being a very rare group, the last remaining relics of an older age, who can live for up to thousands of years by drawing their energy through forests (and protecting them in return), but immortality is a bit of a stretch. Maybe also make them particularly more shortlived and vulnerable if they leave forested areas entirely (let’s say no more than a year). Othwise I’m happy :)

As the son of a Margrave, he was expected to enroll in one of the many prestigious military academies before eventually enlisting.

Could I create two factions? I was thinking of having a corrupt corporation ran by vampires who are strictly in search of profit and power and then a human-supremacist, Black Legion-esque gang that is involved in illegal arms trafficking and racketeering.

Commonly found: Mostly in poorer urban areas of Urbis Forum and other major cities, in primarily Orcish immigrant communities.
Stereotypical skills: Unmatched in raw fighting power, muscular, and deceptively good at working together, suited for high risk work in factories and the military
Stereotypical flaws: Brutish, violent, dirty, backward, overly traditional, tribal, and often looked down on as "simple" and "Inherently violent"
Other notes: Disproportionally poor and involved in gangs, factory work, and the military. While Orcs can live to an exceptionally old age, their diet and culture is more suited for open plains or mountain living than it is for modern life, leading a disproportionate number of Orcs to develop high blood pressure and diabetes and die early. Also, despite deep-seated racial tensions, Orcish tribalism and large, cohesive family structures bears remarkable similarities to Dwarven clans.

Though obviously different, I think Goblins are supposed to act the part of Orcs.
