The "mouth" of the group, who doesn't sugarcoat anything or make an attempt at being polite.

Brief Biography: Formerly a famous vigilante in Japan, now a celebrity hero with the Guardians, Bishamon Hasegawa has been around the superhero scene since it began. A calm leader who reaffirmed his skill at command by playing a major role in stopping a deadly terror attack in Britain last year, along with the other Juliet members. The incident would give him, and them, global recognition and fame.

Brief Biography: Not much is known about this hero from the jungles of Cambodia, other than the fact that she made a career out of killing Khmer Rouge members and supporters in revenge for what they did to her country. Three years ago, she was recruited to the Guardians under mysterious circumstances and is the least known of the Task Force, even after the Britain incident.

Equipment: Gabriella doesn't normally carry anything paticularly unusual; no weapons of any form. She has a sabre which she'll bring on combat missions, however.
Primary Ability: Gabriella can create a pair of clone bodies, completely under her control and indistinguishable from herself in appearence. Her mind is shared between her original body and the pair of clones, so should her original body die, she would live on in her clone bodies. She also gets all the physical and sensory sensations that her clones are feeling at any time. If a clone or her original body dies, she automatically spawns in a replacement clone body in a week or so as long as another clone body remains alive, the exact timing varies randomly.

Skills: As creative use of her power allows her to have one or two bodies awake at any given time while the third sleeps, Gabriella has been able to become extremely knowledgable in many areas; she can speak French, English, Italian and German with complete fluency, a great depth of general knowledge. She also has a blue belt in Brazilian Ju-jitsu, although she's massively out of practice so it's of limited practical use and was a a sabre fencer at a competitive level back home. As Japan doesn't do fencing, she's taken up kendo as a similar replacement although she's distinctly amateur. She can also sing pretty decently.
Flaws: Gabriella considers herself above fighting, believing it to be work for 'grunts' i.e pretty much everyone else. She'll only ever fight if attacked first, if it's obvious everyone else can't handle it or it's a matter of personal pride. Has a fairly large ego which leads to her underestimating others initially, but she rarely does so twice. Extremely competitive, will enter anything she doesn't believe she'll lose immedately no matter what. Places a very high value on her personal honour and has a strong dislike for tactics she views as 'underhanded' if they involve her in the underhanded bit. Despite her clones respawning, she has a deep fear of losing them since dying is extremely painful and having to live through it is... Mildly traumatic, to say the least. Each body also still has human requirements for food, water and sleep, independent of all of the other bodies, and do not share gains in physical ability.

PERSONAL
Personality: Gabriella is often described as either nacissistic, egotistic or hedonistic; ultimately, all of these are correct. She has a over-inflated sense of self-worth from never really suffering any major failures or setbacks that she was never able to break; said sense of self-worth has convinced her that she is the most, or one of the, most important people and that the rest of the world exists mostly to keep her entertained. She'll poke and prod at people's fears and desires as she likes, taunting and cajoling to see their reactions. Attempts to act on the principle of noblesse oblige, since she's better than everyone else, she naturally has to look after their asses, as much as she may despise doing so. Places a strong emphasis on debts and honour; if she helps you, she expects to be repaid in equal measure, and she is honour-bound to do the same.
Biography: Legally, Gabriella is three seperate people; Gabriella, Michelle and Raphaella Bianchi-Costa, born as identical triplets, born in Geneva to a pair of civil servants. The three of them displayed little indicaton that they were three bodies sharing one mind at a young age beyond being scarily cooidinated; they learned to walk and talk at almost the exact same time, a near-telepathic ability to finish each other's sentences which people found a bit adorable. They tended to stick together as a trio throughout school, and their mind, which took the name of the eldest of the three as her own, learned to act as three distinct although very similar individuals as she grew, learning to act out conversations with herself and construct personalities for each of them due to being unsure how everyone would react and quite enjoying the status quo. Having three seperate bodies and brains but one unifying mind did not really help until high school and exams; being able to effectively study three subjects at the same time proved a great help, or just two while the third body was out partying with friends or sleeping or something else.

She also started fencing and Brazilian Ju-jitsu, partially out of boredom, partially because it fit with the acted personalities she had, she thought they'd be useful skills to have and they might be fun. Gabriella learned to fence, Michelle learned Brazilian Ju-jitsu while Raphaella went over to friends houses or partied and was the most socialable of the three. Life was good. She had fun, friends, was successful academically. Naturally, things began to go wrong. She began to grow overconfident with her knowledge and skills, arrogant almost. Everything went her way, she could do no wrong and was flawless; the world seemed to be bending to give her what she wanted. Naturally, she began to assume she was simply 'better' than everyone else, and began to model herself on the old European aristocracy, a haughty ice queen above the 'peasants'.

And then Raphaella died. She doesn't know how; The body called Raphaella was returning from a party when she just suddenly lost connection, and the body was never found. Her family presumed she'd gone missing and contacted the police, but nothing. A week later, she reappeared out of the blue, none the worse for wear. She played it off as that she'd stayed round a friends and forgotten to tell anyone, which worked. In reality, she reappeared because of her power 'spawning' in another clone body. Now with an obvious power, she admitted herself to the Guardians, only leaving a note behind for her parents that the three of them were going to travel the world for a bit and they'd call at some point or another.

A lot of the posts you see happening aren't in headquarters, but in Hong Kong. That's where the current mission is, but it's also wrapping up right now and it's too late to get in on it. For things back at HQ, there's one group of students in the infirmary who just saw someone come back from the dead, and they're trying to figure out what's going on. Another couple of students went to ask the Head of Science about that. The other main conversation happening at HQ is between Tee and Bri Gallagher and Porphyrios Yasha, another Young Guardian who just arrived. Someone else is set to show up and join in that, too.

Also, I believe I've fixed the Discord link now.

Primary Ability:
Its best to think of this power as an empty power meter that can be seen in certain games. As Axelia takes hits from any form of attack, most of the damage is converted into energy that fills up the hypothetical meter, will the remaining fraction is maintained. Once the hypothetical meter is full, Axelia can manifest the stored energy to heal her allies (through contact). However, the meter can not be overfilled, as such if she takes more damage than the hypothetical meter can store, then the built up energy will be automatically released healing all those around her (as she can't control who exactly it heals) as a pulse within a five metre (about sixteen feet) radius. This meter can only be filled a maximum of five times before Axelia must rest for twenty four hours. It should however be mentioned that Axelia can release the stored energy prematurely, but doing so counts as if the hypothetical meter was full but with reduced strength in the healing. Axelia can heal nearly all wounds and injuries if the energy is released when the hypothetical meter is full.

Secondary Ability:
Axelia is capable of healing most of his/her own injuries if given sufficient enough time. But we are not talking regular person healing speeds as Axelia heals faster than normal people. Her healing factor is capable of healing wounds such as bullet wounds to non vital areas in a matter of minutes. She can not heal lost limbs, nor can Axelia healing wounds to vital organs. It should also be mentioned that a side effect to her healing factor is that her body tends to over produce blood cells on occassion, leading to sudden fits of coughing up blood, and her crying blood for a fair amount of time. It should be mentioned that the pain from the wounds remains for sometime even after they are healed, and her bloody fits come with pain.

Personality: Axelia is quite friendly, social, willing to try new things, and open in most cases. She's willing and ready to help pretty much anyone. She knows pain, and as such hates seeing others in pain, and hates those who cause others pain. Her personality does a complete 180 when she is goes through withdrawal. One can often tell as well when she has taken her pain killers as she will be out of it for a little while
Biography:
Born in the city of San Marino, in the country of San Marino, Axelia had a good start to life that degraded quickly. Her father, was a doctor, and her mother worked for the San Marino government, so her families income was quite stable. In fact, Axelia didn't know about how hard life could be until the pain began. When she was still young, five years old to be exact, she started to suffer a great deal of pain, for no aparent reason, which stunned her father. Eventually the pain became to much to bare without any help, so her father had her start taking pain medication. After a few weeks the pain disappeared.

Of course, the pain would return, this time when she was twelve. It was more painful this time, and to make things worse, she started to bleed from the eyes and occassionally would cough up blood. This not only baffled her father, but scared her mother who seriously thought that her daughter was possessed by a demon. This would create a rift between her parents, and would eventually lead to their divorce, which then lead to a elongated period where they fought for custody. All thoughout the period, she spent time with both her father and mother. Her father tried pain killers, as they worked before, while her mother had multiple exorcists attempt to exercise the "demon".

Of course, the pain killers didn't work this time, nor did the exorcisms (obviously). Eventually her father won custody, and then tried more powerful pain killers. They did work, and the bleeding eyes and coughing fits eventually ended once again. With the disappearance of the pain, her life returned to normal once again. Until she was fifteen, until she learned about her powers. How she learned about her powers is not an event she likes to talk about.

Not long after learning about her powers, the pain returned. This time, while the pain killers worked, the fits did not disappear. No matter how much she took, no matter how much she stole from her father. She was addicted to the pain killers, more specifically addicted to the relief from the constant pain. Not long after turning seventeen the Guardians learned about her, and one thing lead to another, and now she is learning to control her powers with the Young Guardian program.

Equipment: A sword, gloves and a handgun with a few extra magazines.
Primary Ability: Soulbound Blade - Alessia's sword, pictured above, is intrinsically connected to her and can only be wielded by her. She can wield it masterfully and even manipulate it without directly touching it; complete manipulation only extends to a radius of about 10 meters, but she can throw it much farther in a straight line and call it back no matter the distance. In addition, she can summon it or cause it to disappear as necessary. If others attempt to wield it, with her permission or without her, the edge will become dull and unable to cut anything. It is both supernaturally sharp and resistant to damage, but it can be broken, and if this happens, the remnants of the blade will disappear and Alessia will enter a weakened state for 24 hours before it can be summoned again.
Secondary Ability: Superior Techniques - Alessia's gift transcends merely wielding a sword with great skill, going as far as to grant her a boost to her physical capabilities whenever she is wielding her soulbound blade. In addition, she can learn, practice and master a myriad of unnatural sword techniques that are impossible for regular humans to achieve; however, she must practice tons just to refine any such technique enough for it to be usable, and further still to master it. So far, she has learned the following techniques:
  • Slash Projection (Master Level) - With this technique, after a short delay, Alessia can slash at the air in front of her and release a wave that travels in a straight line, cutting anything that it comes across before disappearing after a short distance. She can release several waves successively and even delay them for a few moments.
  • Blink Slash (Master Level) - This technique allows Alessia to, after a short period of charging, cover massive distances in a straight line very quickly, finishing off with a sword attack. However, she can only perform it if she can visualize an enemy in front of her, and once she does it, she needs to wait for a short time before she can do it again.
  • Blade Beam (Advanced Level) - A stronger, but also riskier version of the Slash Projection technique, upon focusing for several moments and thrusting forward Alessia releases a powerful beam of energy from the tip of her sword that can punch through most materials; however,
    she will be nearly spent upon using it once, and it takes a toll on the blade's durability as well; at full strength, it can outright break the sword and leave her collapsed on the ground.
  • Parallel Strike (Basic Level) - This technique revolves around slashing at an enemy multiple times, quickly enough that it seems as though all attacks occur at the same time, making it a very difficult attack to block. Though it can be used relatively quickly unlike the otherr techniques, Alessia can only strike twice at most, and needs a good while before she can use it again.

Personality: Fun-loving, outgoing and somewhat hedonistic during her leisure time, though also short-tempered; she's perfectly willing to put on a serious face and work with others when there's an objective that needs to be completed. Often honest to a brutal degree and very slow to form attachments to other people. A bit of a perfectionist, she takes her swordsmanship very seriously. However, sometimes her confidence in her abilities can get the better of her.
Biography: Alessia Bellini was born to a rather wealthy family in Milan, Italy, and her first few years were lived in luxury, with her father pampering his little princess to her heart's content. However, due to certain 'business matters', her family had to leave their comfortable home in Milan and move to the United States. While the change was fairly noticeable, as their new home was a tad humbler than the old, Alessia was still too young around then to understand exactly what was going on. As she grew up, what little her father couldn't provide her, she got by appealing to his friends, who were just as wealthy, if not more, and apparently willing to cater to the child's whims; unbeknownst to her, both her father and his acquaintances were involved organized crime. The favors they owed to her father were the reason she was treated as well, and her own father's debts were what had taken him across the ocean.

During her early teens, Alessia's powers manifested. Naturally, everyone around her was scandalized at the notion of a sweet girl such as her having a dangerous ability like that, but after her father and company watched her test it out a few times, they realized something: she took to combat like a fish takes to water. Perhaps it was a hidden disposition that did not reveal itself until she was holding a weapon, or perhaps it was a side-effect of her ability. Whatever the case, while her father had initially meant to give his little girl a life away from trouble, now it seemed simpler to channel the girl's predisposition towards battle and turn her into an useful ally. Thus, she trained hard and did odd jobs for her father's syndicate for a few years, learning what it was like to bring a sword to a gunfight, and using her charms to seduce and assassinate political enemies on more than one occasion. After a while, however, they caught the attention of the Guardians, who started to crack down on them. That was when she and her father came up with an unwelcome, but necessary solution: the Guardians would let their misdeeds slip this time as long as they kept out of trouble for a while, in exchange for a new recruit. Thus, Alessia began her journey to Saitama.

Primary Ability: Using Cain's special energy and his equipment, she can essentially act as a psionic with the backpack's antenna being able to now lift and throw things. Defensively, she can use it to generate a shield around her and for mobility she can now float around.
Secondary Ability: With her intelligence, she can hack into items or disable them by using a code known to her as code 'shatter' by shattering whatever control had been had over the system or item.

Skills: Excellent inventor, specializes in hacking, able to fix almost anything,
Flaws: Although she does consider herself all powerful, she is aware that without the energy harmonizer she is essentially useless since excessive use will overload the energy source and short circuit it, causing the energy to be lost and a recharge required. Besides that, she has attachment issues and has her mood affected by the weather, making her either stronger or ineffective during combat. In personal life, she is usually pretty lazy which leads to most things being somewhat half arsed and not really capable nor trustworthy in use and quality.

PERSONAL
Personality: Somewhat eccentric and insane, Aenoa can usually be seen with her machine casually floating from place to place or doing a few hundred things at once while taking a nap with the energy pack. Generally, usually pretty lazy and tends to use her powers more for manual items rather than actual combat. Although in combat, her cold and calculating personality makes her a deadly force that most will have issues taking out.
Biography: Born into an eccentric family of inventors and scientists with it running deep in his blood, Aenoa from a young age was exposed to dangerous elements such as acid and electricity which most would be concerned with, but not her parents. When she was young, she had learnt to read months before most other children and was easily capable of memorizing various formulas. Seeing this great chance, she was educated specifically in energy aspects, such as how to harmonize and synthesize it from a small amount. She spent most of her years being home schooled before she went on her own to study abroad.

During her time on independent studies, Aenoa followed her parent's teachings of electricity and created a special backpack. It could synthesize and harmonize energy, and blast out electric shocks within a short range of it. Over the next few years, she'd spend them furthering her research and strengthening it until she was frustrated with the wea[on. It couldn't grow any stronger, so to find people that could possibly enhance it she joined the Guardian's new program. From there, she finally met Cain. Seeing the powers he possessed, they both collaborated and eventually gave rise to the 'Hyperion', a weapon that could make anyone a psionic like being with the help of Cain's special energy and Aenoa's ingenuity. Armed now with the weapon, nothing stands in her way towards harnessing the ultimate power that electricity can bring. Along this path, she also forged various codes, but most prominently and her favorite one, was code 'Shatter' and various codes she used to implement into the machine to protect it from any issues.

Personality: Frank is generally happy usually having a smile on his face and a perk in his step. He is though a tad bit awkward when around woman he finds attractive or is in love with. Sometimes though he could say somethings that could piss some people off accidentally.
Biography: Born in a small northern Scottish town Frank had a very little and not so exciting childhood. He was raised with stories of great Scottish stories such as William Wallace and the battle of Bannockburn and thus started his fascination with the Scottish sword, the Claymore. His grandfather taught him at a very young age starting with a strict exercise routine years before he even touched the sword. Then after 4 years of drilling and pushing his body to the limit Frank was ready for the sword. Frank was a natural with it mastering most forms easily though his grandfather died before his training was over. Frank first learned of his power when he was in a car crash that should have killed him but instead he was knocked out and woke up inside of a red suit of crystalized blood armour. Having not much to turn to he signed on with the Young Guardians.

He ended up meeting Nev after he left the now abandoned Academy of Villains, being a supportive, and rather hilarious stranger to him. #1: On realism and survival

I’m writing this as a clarification for things that may be lacking in the original post, mainly because I slimmed that post down and preferred to make it too large by including extra info. The subject of this post is on the RP’s realism, and differences from this and other RPs in the same genre and other genres. It was partly written because of struggles in the IC thread, partly to help new players who may not be used to the systems used in this RP, and partly for those that aren’t active on the Discord server and don’t have access to this info because of that. The main subjects of this post are the RP’s version of realism, and advice for working through it and not being killed off during missions or other activities.

On the subject of realism

Long story short, the RP has a version of realism that dictates that:

A: Superpowers are inherently unrealistic and are judged on strength rather than realistic merits. For example, characters may break the laws of physics, possess impossible natural traits, and other impossible things may be incorporated into powers. The only rules for powers are the ones laid out in the OP, and a couple of other ones including a short list of banned powers.

B: Unrealism is allowed for powers, but other parts of the RP behave realistically. For example, being able to set yourself on fire while taking no damage from it doesn’t make you immune from being shot and killed by a sniper firing .50 caliber ammunition. Having inhumanly good reflexes doesn’t save you from getting shot by a weapon like a shotgun, with spread. Your skill with a certain weapon won’t save you from being knocked out from behind because you missed the person sneaking up on you. The most realism is applied in combat, but this also extends to the effects of your action. You can’t do whatever you want, just because you’re a superhero. Cause collateral damage, for example, and you might start an international incident.

C: There is no such thing as plot armor in this RP. Characters will not be spared from a worse fate than an NPC, just because they have an actual role in the plot. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. If you make a terrible tactical decision, pick a fight with a character that matches up badly with yours, or do something else along those lines, you can very easily get killed off. Luck is accounted for, but you cannot rely on luck to survive. Shotguns will not inexplicably miss their target in your presence, trained marksmen won’t forget how to shoot, your enemy won’t strangely decide to show you mercy despite not having a habit of doing that, and you won’t miraculously recover from injuries that have a very low survival rate. This means that decisions are very, very important for lasting longer than a mission or two. If you don’t want to be killed off, don’t put yourself in a position for that to happen.

D: Some types of powers are inherently less useful in most situations. If you make someone that can only do close quarters combat and would get chewed up by any ranged enemies, don’t complain when that’s what happens and they never got a chance to shine. The realism rules don’t change to make it easier for certain powers to be useful. The next part of this guide will have some tips to get through this, however, in case your powers aren’t enough for that.

On the subject of survival


If you want to survive in this RP, decisions are the most important thing. Acting recklessly rarely has a good result, and cover is also an important thing to take note of. The vast majority of your enemies, powered or not, will be armed with guns. Attacking the enemy with no cover is a quick way to die, unless you have some way to protect yourself from bullets. Another way is attacking a character that’s a bad matchup. For example, if the enemy can deal damage from range, and you can only fight in close quarters, it’s important to not start a fight and to rely on allies who present a better matchup. If you have questions about things like cover, it’s important to ask them OOCly before you make a post. This way, you can act based on all of the info available to you.

Here are some other tips to keep in mind:

A: Act within your range. Seriously. KNOW WHAT YOUR EFFECTIVE RANGE IS. As complicated as this sounds, it’s the key to getting gunned down easily and doing something heroic. Know how far your character is effective for, and make decisions based on that. If you have a sword user, you’re going to be ineffective in every range except close quarters. If you rely on ranged powers, you might be great at mid range combat but poor at fighting enemies who get in your face. Others are long ranged specialists. But if you rush into a fight and don’t pick and choose your battles based on what your range is, you’re going to lose almost every time.

B: Coordinate with the other players. Don’t make major decisions in a battle without getting to a consensus. Others have done this in the past and it doesn’t end well. Everyone has weaknesses in this RP, but if you work together, you can cover each other’s weaknesses and take out enemies that are stronger than you individually. Figure out how your powers work together and figure out how to cover each other. Is there someone that can absorb damage and give you room to work, for example? Does a support character have the ability to boost your damage, giving you the edge in a fight?

C: Consider in character creation if the character will actually be useful on missions, unless you don’t intend to have them see combat. I didn’t want to enforce strong standards on recruitment in this RP, but I’m telling everyone this so we can have some better results in missions. Ask yourself, is this power going to help me more than a conventional weapon? What would make someone trust your character with their safety over a normal person with a handgun or a rifle? How will they do when they run into trouble? Are they a one trick pony that will easily get overwhelmed by the enemy?

Again, everything in this guide is a suggestion and not a demand, but it’s something to be considered for those who want to see decent results ICly. Which so far, hasn’t really been the case after the two major injuries in the opening arc and the three deaths in the Hong Kong arc, which all could have been avoided with decision making.

  • M2 Browning Equipped with a Telescopic Sight - Rarely used, and only fired as a semi-automatic weapon in its modified state, as a fully automatic sniper rifle would have a dramatically reduced effective range that would render the function as a sniper rifle effectively pointless.
  • Kalashnikov RPK-16 - One of her favorite weapons for mid-range combat, which remains effective even in close range.
  • A Pair of Glock 41s - Always carried as a sidearm.
  • A Pair of LHR Combat Knives - When worse comes to worse, it's time for some CQC.
Abilities:
  • Engineered Physiology- Developed further from the modified genome that created Zakiti, her ability to optimize her reaction time and target tracking were taken into account when the project was pushed forward after the unfortunate incident where the prototype escaped. She carries the same heightened senses of smell and hearing as her counterpart, but through further modification her eyes were replaced, as well as each of her four limbs. Her neural structure throughout her body was also modified to better suit the new appendages and further improve the prestanding abilities.

    Within this, she possesses the following abilities/

    Enhanced Senses and Agility - Do to the hybridization of her genetic material, she possesses senses greater than that of a human, which can aid in defense against stealth, identifying others, and tracking.
    Efficient Movement - Do to the incorporation of technology into her design, her body is able to move efficiently, requiring the bare minimal of energy needed to move.
    Enhanced Strength and Speed - Thanks to her robotic limbs, she is disproportionately strong for her size, but it doesn't go as far as to surpass human limits, and her speed has been heightened, again, within human limitations.
    Thermal Vision - One pro to replacing her eyes to see a wider spectrum of colors, she is able to see in infrared.
    Reaction-Time Optimization - Her reaction time can become heightened, aiding her more in close-range combat than ranged.
    Target Tracking - She can track multiple targets at once, which allows her to accurately fire upon multiple individuals with two firearms.

Contrary to her appearance, she does not use swords

Brief Biography:

She was designed further past Zakiti's commercial intent, after the discovery that their particular genome was hazardous, and geared more toward a militarized market. She was registered to the Guardians some time ago, acting as more of a finalized test and marketing campaign. Thanks to her tactical mindset, unique skills, and obedience to command, she quickly climbed the ranks and earned herself a spot in one of the heavy-hitting elite teams of the Guardians.

So, I've decided to pull out of this RP, now that we're close to a timeskip and my characters aren't in a position where they would hinder the plot or anything of the sort. It was fun to hang around here, but I think it's better to leave. I'd prefer if my characters were left alone, but if they're needed for some sort of plot event, feel free to use them. Best of luck moving forward!

I'm doing the same as well. To be brutally honest, while this RP is fun, it has come clear to me that my characters appear to have no clear role to the RP's plot(s). Therefore, I'm pulling out of this RP as well - I can't find any other way to make my two characters important to the plot(s).

Not to complain or nag, but I can't keep popping my characters in and out of places just to get them involve. So for the time being, I shall be relinquishing myself from this RP until I am needed to move my characters along in the RP. Otherwise, cheers and best of luck to you all. Happy Hunting~!
