Hello NationStates!

Your friendly neighborhood Vodka here with Star Fleet's most advanced (and vastly incomplete) starship, the Starship Anschluss. We're currently in the TRAPPIST-1 Solar System.

This is a Discord-Based Character Roleplay.


Backstory
The year is 2317. These are the voyages of the Starship Zodak Anschluss. The ship was stolen borrowed by Dishonorably Discharged Captain James D. Boom (The D. is Silent, the Boom is Loud). The Captain and his Crew are here to boldly loot what no man has looted before. (I'm sorry, Sir, but you can't say that.) (Yes I can! It's what we're doing here, isn't it? Last time I checked, none of us are getting Starfleet paychecks.) (Fine. Sir.) We are here to seek out hidden treasures, fight literally any lifeforms that we see, and loot and pillage any civilization we come across. (Siiiiiiiiiiiiir.) (Trust me Status. You must believe in me.)

At this time, there is currently a Cold War (Part 2 anyone?) between the Federation of Earth (Democracy, Capitalist, Advanced, Space Exploration-Oriented) and the Vladivostok Intern (Authoritarian, Socialist, Less-Advanced, Space Exploitation-Oriented). Years after a bloody 4-year-long war, the two nations are at odds against each other. Many of their high-ranking generals were arrested and put into prisons across several planets for war crimes committed during the war. One such criminal, our dishonorably discharged captain, stole a spaceship while in transit from one prison to another. And that is where we began.

The Starship Anschluss was an experimental ship built in secrecy by the Federation of Earth (Starfleet, essentially) and the Steam Islands Joint Research Group. The ship was never completed when the current captain stole it from its building hangar on the Station FES Koldinoc. As such, it came poorly equipped, but it came with a helping AI already onboard. The captain went around to the various other colonies of the Federation of Earth, trying to hire other crew members. It was essentially like a Space Craigslist. Each time he hired someone, he'd move on to the next planet to hide his moves. And that's how this makeshift crew came to be.

Due to a series of unfortunate events, the FES Anschluss was destroyed in a nuclear explosion after the reactors overloaded. Because of this, the crew has been relocated to the FES Skyward, which is an experimental Carrier-Class Starship. Bigger, somewhat stronger, and actual weapons (yay). All new members will be joining as the crew of the Skyward until otherwise stated.

1] As per standard Roleplay Procedure, no Godmodding, Spamming, Trolling, Flaming, or otherwise nonsensical behaviors are allowed. OP and Co-OPs have the right to remove you for breaking this rule.

2] There is a basic story that we will be pertaining to, but for the most part of how we get to each “milestone” is completely up to everyone. That’s what makes the story more fun. While, yes, OP-word is law, it won’t be used too much as this story is supposed to be crafted by all, not just the admins. Just be sane (and heck, insane helps sometimes too if done right).

3] If you are unhappy with your character, please tell us and we’ll help you fix it. If you want to change your roles entirely, let us know; before you remove yourself from the other one, have a backup ready in advance.

4] Characters have no limits, though don’t make them invincible. Everyone will have weaknesses. There is no longer a requirement for them to be humanoid, they just have the ability to be able to do the job they’re hired to do.

5] Try to be active. We understand when life gets in the way, so let us know if you need time off, but if you suddenly disappear for more than a week and never gave anyone a reason as to why, we’ll open your spot back up for others. After two weeks, we’ll remove you entirely from the server.

6] In regards to Not Safe For Work Content. You must ask for a NSFW Tag. As we are unsure of everyone’s actual age (and please do not post it here to tell us) and the like, we do not want to be responsible for underage viewing / engaging in pornographic activities in the roleplay. The NSFW Tag ensures that all NSFW Content is kept to Hidden NSFW Channels. Asking for and being granted the Tag means that you agree you are of legal age in your home country to view/engage in pornographic content and none of the persons within the roleplay are legally responsible for anything you may view. This also means that the OP (Status Ion) and Co-OPs (Thanatos Forea, Thane, and any future admins) are not to be held responsible for you viewing content you do not like / agree with / illegally or legally view as you have consented to the above statements upon asking for the NSFW Tag.

7] If you wish to have a role that we have not mentioned, simply ask us and we’ll tell you if we will allow it or not. If you’re trying to be an enemy, almost anything you ask to be should be allowed. Joining the crew is a little stricter, just because we already have the ship designed for what we have. If the change / new role(s) / whatever is something we can integrate easily, we’ll more than likely allow it if it lets you enjoy yourself more during the roleplay.

8] Be sure to know what’s going on at least a little bit before you hop in. This is not based off the game Faster Than Light. Much of the technology that is seen in standard Sci-Fi films is experimental in this universe. Shields are brand new technology and as such very few ships (and those ships are solely larger ships) have it. Most people will be coming from (if you’re joining the crew) the Federation of Earth, although there are always exceptions to this part of the rule. All nations within this roleplay are relatively small compared to, say, Star Wars, as most only cover a few systems, not the entire galaxy. As such, larger ships are few and far between due to their expensive costs and resources needed. As such, larger ships are solely for the military, and bounty-hunter / civilian ships are on the smaller / cheaper end of the spectrum.

9] Touching the plane is expressly encouraged prohibited plausible if with good intentions.

10] We recommend that any characters you create are over the age of 18 (legal age to join the military) at the very minimum, though we do recommend that if you’re going for anything that is not expressly military-related to have had at least enough to get a degree or training in said field. (A person that is 18 with a PhD in Biology is highly unlikely, whereas a person that is 22 with a Bachelors in Nuclear Engineering is extremely likely.) The younger the person, the less experience they have in a field, obviously.
This roleplay is designed to be both serious and humorous, so anything goes. We've got almost no limits here, just try to not go over the top. (We already got mad at our Chef because he wouldn't shut up about "Lamb Sauce" and it got annoying very quickly. He was subsequently thrown out the airlock.)



1] Fixed some Grammatical Errors that stuck out like a sore thumb.
2] Fixed Formatting of CREW, added Descriptions to each role, and added a part to Character Application.
3] Changed some roles around.
4] Added NorthwestAirlines to Chief Helmsman.
5] Added Crew Member Descriptions and Reservations.
6] Added Navigations Helmsman.
7] Added Ground Commander Reservation.
8] Added Nova [Comms] and Iebar [G.Commander] to Crew List.
9] New Crew Positions made available. Explained Medics.
10] Changed the Display Title of the Roleplay, so as to make it seem less meme-y and people actually consider it. Added some more History to the beginning. Reserved Sniper.
11] Nova resigned, opening up Comms.
12] Added History.
13] Added the TRAPPIST-1 Solar System. Added Lore. Added more Helmsmen. Put Biologists with Scientists (Thus removing the separate role for Biologists). Qualified all Scientists so you know who is doing what. Split CREW Application and ENEMY Application.
14] Cooks and Janitors replaced with Operators. Added Rules. Accepted Crew List replaced with a spoiler for easy looking.
15] Updated Enemy Application due to some realizations at the moment.
16] Added Ashbrace to Airman One (Aaron Finch) and Antagonists of the Crew (Avin Sanderhall). Also made a slight adjustment to the Title.
17] Added Goa'uld Empire [Field Medic].
18] Added BettaMin to Comms (James Powell). Stjernekatt removed from Chief Cyber Security Officer as Cyber Security has been removed. Replaced with Two Guards and Two Marines [Recon and Infantry].
19] Added NorthwestAirlines to Cargo Master (Charles Lector). Added Stjernekatt to Security Guard #1 (The Dragon). Added Sixth Rule (Just at the request, it doesn't actually mean anything).
20] NorthwestAirlines's Charles Lector changed to Field Medic. Added more positions to all Sects of the Crew. Limit of Crew lifted from 72 to 106 Crew Members. Added better descriptions to all crew positions. While not indicated here, we also now have a separate Cryobay, as in it's no longer part of the Medbay.
21] Removed Applications from this post and put them on later post. Also moved the Crew List. Check it out here.
22] Removed "FTL" from title, as you don't have to be of FTL-Era to join. That's just saying what it is.
23] Removed Crew List Entirely such that you know where to go. Added the G-Doc List to main page. Updated Rules. Updated Opening Information.
24] Fully updated rules. Looks more official now.

Bio:
Orici Adria thought it would be fun to pretend like she's one of the mortals, looking at them from the inside of their society. The other Ori agreed to freeze the time in the universe where she is the ruler of the Ori Empire so Adria could do this in a parelel universe. As she was ruling over the empire for centuries, she deserved a little brake.
She came down to the mortal plane and by doing so she created false memories to everyone in the universe who may be dealing with her. She tok a persona of a medical doctor Leslie Thompkins, a human from Earth who's one of the best human doctors in their universe.

Dr Thompkins has a double specialty in infectious diseases and cardiovascular diseases. She invented a device that can heal any injury and illness that she used on herself as a test. By using it the characteristics of the device somehow transfered into Dr Lee's DNA. After this the device overloaded and for an unknown reason nobody was ever able to make it again. It was declared top secret by the government.
This false memorry was created just to mask her abilities as an Ori, so she can use some of them without others questioning it much(like healing hands, telekinesis and energy projection).

She got bored of dealing with even the medical cases that other doctors couldn't solve. Next she started working for the Falcone family, an Itallian mafia on Earth lead by Don Carmine Falcone. Dr Lee was made famous after Don Falcone poisioned a couple of his underbosses for betraying him, as she was the one who made the toxin that the police couldn't find and connect the case with the Don. After that she became one of Carmine Falcone's closest friends and people he trusts the most. She was trusted with many cases of "shady" business, among which were experiments with bioweapons. Dr Thompkins made a name of herself, and soon she became a famous mafia lady in the known universe. Despite the fact she turned down the Don's suggestion to give her own crew and make her her top underboss, she was among the most powerful, if even not the most powerful individual in the Falcone mafia family. Some thought she would betray Carmine and take over, which she did not. The Don's son Mario even wanted to marry her, but she refused. All of this made her one of the few weaknesses of the Falcone mafia. After being set up by a rival family, Carmine sent her away on their most advanced spaceship tasked with exploration of the universe. Despite not being the captain of the ship she was the most respected individual on it. After Don Carmine Falcone retired and his son Mario tok over, Lee left the mafia despite the wish of the new Don. After this she was recruited on starship Anschluss, where she now works as the Chief Medical Officer.

Quick Backstory: Was the top graduating pilot of his class at the Starfleet Helmsman Academy. Got bored of bureaucratic BS and flying around politicians. Decided to leave StarFleet and join the crew of the Anschluss. Distant relative of President-Protector Henry Ericson of NorthwestAirlines, but does not know it.

This post is technically both a bump and a status report.

For any future applicants, the ship has currently crashlanded onto TRAPPIST-1e and has sustained massive damage. New applicants are basically being pulled out of the cryopods, so joining will result in the same happening to you.

New Crew Positions made available. Airmen and Marines split apart, allowing for easier identification. Also removed some cooks and janitors to make room for more Airmen and Marines so as to keep our 72-Person limit.

System
Added the Solar System. It will be added to as we explore further into our current system.


Lore
I have added in the Lore. This is a basic list of all the Nations in our area, all the ranks for military members, and all that other wonderful stuff. More will be added as time goes on, but I'm only one person so my creativity is a little hindered.


Applications
I have cleaned up the Crew App a bit, and also made a version of the App for if you wish to be one of the enemies. At the moment, it's free reign, just use the Lore as a backbone for your plans. We'll be flexible for this.


Crew
The crew size has been expanded from 72 to 76. This is because we have added new positions within the Bridge. We have also removed Biologists as an independent group and have integrated them as part of the scientists. We have also qualified what all the scientists do so we don't need to worry about everyone being a chemist and having no one working nuclear (because that's important).


Other
As it stands, our Chief Security Officer is unable to be active. We will be acting as if they were injured in the crash, until they say they want to leave or they're able to get back on. So, because of that, the first person to chose to be part of the Security Team will be the acting Chief of Security. Our Chief is back. All is good. Though this rule still applies for future events and for all roles.

Backstory: Avin Sanderhall is a mercenary contracted by the Starfleet to locate and capture any criminals who've escaped beyond Starfleet reach. Recently, he got word that a crew of fugitives on board the stolen ship *Anschluss* was in the Trappist system, and is heading his way there now.

Age: 25 y/o (Earth Years)
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Role: Fighter pilot
Appearance: Black hair, brown eyes, tan skin.

Backstory: Finch was a fighter pilot for the Starfleet. He was in a dog fight but was shot down. His body was recovered and sent off in a cryopod into space, like his family requested. However, he wasn't dead. Only now has his cryopod reached Trappist-1 randomly. He's still asleep inside, alive.

Bio: Carson Beckett was the Chief Medical Officer of the international Atlantis expedition when the lost city of Atlantis was first found. He was hired to join the Atlantis expedition in Antarctica. Dr. Rodney McKay forced a reluctant Carson to sit in the Control chair in the Antarctic outpost to determine the location of Atlantis, since he was a natural carrier of the Ancient Technology Activation gene. After the city was destroyed he returned to planet Earth where he was a Chief Medical Officer in one of the best hospitals in Scottland. He met Dr Leaslie Thompkins during her work on the device. As he was one of the best doctors in UK, he had the ATA gene and was not from 'Imperial Brittish' origin, she selected him as one of her consultants.
After the destruction of the device and Dr Thompkinses decision to move to USA to join the Falcone mafia family, he returned to his previous position. Backstory:
James A. Powell was born to a half-Bosnian, half English father, and a Colombian mother, in the city of Liverpool, on Earth. He displayed an aptitude for languages and weapons at a young age, and found himself as a student in the Starfleet Institute of Xenolinguistics at the surprisingly young age of seventeen. He was held back, and eventually expelled, however, after several disciplinary action cases involving alcohol, drugs, and violence. Knowing no less than fifty-six languages as well as the intricacies of several different types of communications systems and equipment, he found himself in high demand with both criminals and honest merchants and traders.

Years later, James A. Powell had accrued a wealth of connections and a few more languages, alongside plenty of experience in space-fairing. His behavioral issues, however, did not subside, and he had also ended up on the wrong side of many of his connection for offences as varied as being drunk on the job to calling one captain "a soggy bag of ****'s" and subsequently inciting a mutiny. One of these many offences drove him quickly into the employ of the Anchluss as it set to port.

White human male, average height, short brown hair. Speaks in a variety of accents, depending on what accent he feels like using at a given moment.

Weapons
Charles Lecter carries many weapons, including knives, a sword that secretes a painful poison, a rocket-propelled harpoon gun, various syringes of various liquids, several varieties of poison gas, a flamethrower, a flame-orb launcher (think water balloons full of a flammable liquid that ignites upon bursting), and several other weapons.

Backstory:
Charles Lecter's story (as far as we're concerned) started in high school. He had a passion for psychology, and hoped to eventually get a Ph.D in psychology. He was bullied in school for no apparent reason, and in a response to this, murdered all of his bullies late one Friday night. He hid the bodies, and was able to get away with his crimes for decades. During this time, he went to college, murdered several other people, and eventually got a Ph.D in psychology. He built up a massive amount of money, and lived a reclusive life (aside from his practice). Eventually, however, the law caught up with him. A warrant was put out for his arrest for the kids he murdered back in high school, so he went on the run. Due to his wealth, he could afford a starship; and thus escaped into space. While he was running away from FoE police, he encountered the Anschluss, which took him in and made him the Cargo Master. This gave him plenty of space to hide his victims and his various psychotic tools that he uses for various purposes.

Big Update
The crew has been expanded, such that we now have 106 Crew Positions instead of 72. I've also added descriptions to each one as well as quotes for the Marines. The latter means nothing, just felt it fit. So yay, more bodies to throw more people to help in achieving the goals.
