Ukraine was issuing steel helmets when they were desperately trying to get bodies to the front when the war started. I'd imagine as a country that's more well off than Ukraine, Caspia could probably get some older NATO kevlar helmets. Especially if a country is looking to offload old stocks as they switch to more modern designs.

I think we might keep the steel helmets for later. Right now, the war hasn't even started.

A reminder for the players: don't lose your helmet. You might be issued an inferior replacement. The same goes for food, rifles, grenades and squad mates.

Either would be interesting. We don't have any semiradical Muslims so far, but another pro-Russian friend to Anna could make for some nice interactions.

Application[/size]
Name: Vasily Mikhailovich Sorokhin
Age: 31
Appearance:
Image

Religion: Orthodox
Political Affiliation: Vasliy's political beliefs are strongly pro-russian. A member of the Russian minority, his family were leaders of the Russian nationalist groups that joined protests and helped end the soviet union, and were disappointed that the area did not join the Russian Federation. This mentality has been given to Vasily, although his time overseas at Tomsk State University exposed him to Dugin's National Bolshevik ideology. He therefore joined socialist protests in Caspia but has also been involved in several pro Russian events.
Personality: Vasily is cold and intelligent, but is extremely loyal to those he trusts and is extremely protective. A bachelor, he is clumsy in romantic situations and the familial banter he receives from his babushka about his inability to get a partner makes him self conscious about this flaw. After previous incidents he is entirely untrusting of jews.
Short Bio: The Sorokhin family were once a family of Cossack royalty, with large power and influence. While this influence and power has been stolen from them over the years as small incidents like revolutions have removed the Russian community from its privileged position in society, they still command a lot of respect. This fact is well known to Vasily, who has been sculpted willingly by his past into a proud Russian.

His life has been hard. He was born into the decaying husk of the USSR, and his early childhood was a sad tale of food shortage and discrimination. With no real economic opportunity in the village of Kosakgorod in the northern mountains, the ancestral home of his people, his family moved to Gilan to try and find work. He lived in a communal apartment with a couple of Georgian krokodil addicts, some orphaned Caspians and another family of poor Russians, and was almost certain to live a life of crime in one of the street gangs comprised of disenfranchised ethnic minorities. However, a new light arrived in his life.

One day, when he was 14 and was walking home dejected after a breakup with his heroin addicted girlfriend, he was approached by two Jewish boys who were as poor as he was. They stopped him in the streets and pulled a knife on him, trying to take his money. He thought himself dead when all of a sudden a booming voice rang out. It was Dimitri, the Orthodox priest. Before this moment Vasily had gone to church but had done so out of familial pressures and not faith. From now on, he became a devout orthodox Christian and his life was turned around. He began to study hard and gave up crime, and by the time he left school his grades were good enough that with Father Dimitri's help he gained entry to TomskState University where he studied engineering and theology. While here he fell in with a group of radical Russian nationalists who introduced him to National Bolshevism. This was an eye opening moment for him, and he returned from Tomsk both qualified and with a burning passion to rediscover his roots. He traveled to their old home in Kosakgorod and found his family's history as Russian aristocracy.

He found work as an engineer in Stenka Razin, becoming moderately wealthy. He also began a double life as a political agitator, writing National Bolshevik manifestos under the pen name Medved. His double act has been so far successful, but when the war began he was torn. He wanted to join the separatists, but did not want to lose it all. The decision maker came when his cousin Andrei, then fighting with the separatists, sent him a letter urging him to join the Caspian army to give them information and act as a double agent. He agreed and joined willibgly when conscription began, passing training with ease as he was naturally very strong and worked on this often. Soon, he was sent to the front lines.

He might be a bit old, but 31 is still young enough. Who knows, the government might have added him on purpose... Accepted!

I'm looking to open the IC on Friday. We will still remain open, but we can get something started. I'm going to be a bit busy in the coming days, so would someone like to be Co-op? I'm especially looking for someone in the US time zones, because the active hours for the US is when I'm asleep, but if you're not in one of those zones it's fine too.

Very well! I just need someone to reply to apps and questions, and you seem like the right person for that. You're Co-op pro tempore until Friday.
