That doesn't mean they can't capture ships, the only con to that though is it gives the island thats about to be invaded time to mobilize and prepare.

I would suggest adding a major continent, with room for multiple, if not a dozen nation, even if NPC's.
Such a land map allows for more infiltration, Quest travel without ships and ports.

And ofcourse, for me and muh mountain ranges ;p

Yeah, but generally these natural barriers also serve as barriers to interaction.

You want a war? Go through my navy first, then manage to land troops, then manage to supply them and then still manage to beat my debatably larger, better equipped and terrain experienced army.

Well, when you have a horde of not-even-human soldiers on horses, coming at you in one big clump, with unknown armour and weapons that should strike atleast the little(ist) of fear in your army's heart no matter how strong. Resupplying won't be a major problem since they might feed off the blood of their horses, the only problem would be naval wise and might result in a large casualty rate for the invaders.

DRAFT, but technically complete in essence

Name of Kingdom: The dominion (The Dominion of Kal'Erundir)

Ruler: High King Thurion Smidr, "The builder"

Description of Government: The high king holds his seat with the responsibility to uphold the ever expanding sets of laws and honor guidelines that define the culture and nation of the dominion. He holds sway over his dwarven hold and its people and the other cities, both human and dwarvish stand as his vassals under oath. His power is primarily curtailed by the nature of his council, composed of the heads of all the major clans.
Should the high king act in a way that crosses to heavily with the clans agenda or simply dwarvish honor in general, he stands to be challanged to a holmgang and be dethroned by a new high king.

Government Type: Autocracy with strong, influential advisory council

Sigil/Emblem: A long blue banner, centered with a golden anvil, crossed with an axe and hammer. This to symbolise dwarvish strength and Industry. a Buschel is arrayed directly behind the anvil, symbolising the alliance with the dalish.

Population: 10 million dwarves (Dawi, in the dwarvish tongue), 4 million humans (Still seems off to have the same population as the entirety of france in the late medieval era, but allass xD)

Language(s): Dwarvish and dalish (human offshoot) and human standard

Date Formed: 450 A.A

Race(s): Dwarvish and Humans compose the majority of the dominion. A sliver of gnomes and elves live in the human settlements, but their presence is neglectable.

Capital City: Kal'Erundir. A vast underground city, holding a vast portion of the economy, riches and people of Kal'Erundir and by proxy, the Dominion itself.

Land Controlled: A range of land along a mountain range, dotted with a handful of dwarvish strongholds and a vassalised human kingdom, settling in the hill dotted lands in the shadow of the mountains known as the dales.
Allies: The men of Dale
Enemies: Rival Dwarvish warbands and neighbouring human kingdoms eye the upstart dwarvish dominion with angry eyes, the vassalised nature of the dalish city state is a thing that caused many surrounding human nations to be nearly overtly hostile. Only the flow of trade and dwarvish coin keeps the peace.

Currency: Dwarvish coins, in gold, silver and copper. Minted with a hollow middle and in a hexagon shape

Motto: Death before Dishonor
Military Size: 500k dwarves, 200 000 Humans ( I will likely not roleplay even near this number, only when invaded by similar... rather outlandish numbers.
History of Nation:

The dwarves have in the majority of known history lacked their own nation, their nature allways inhibiting the ease humans and elves had to create a stable and lasting governing structure. Centuries ago, A dwarven philospher, Erundir detailed a vast plan to create a stable and viable dwarvish nation. One held together by a strict and nearly oppressive culture centered around duty and honor. He detailed his plan for a dwarvish nation in a vast codex, the Codex Erundir and together with his clan, he build the foundation of what later would become the vast dwarvish city of Kal'erundir. For nearly three centuries did Erundir and his descendants labored in Kal'Erundir in solitude, to build their society and to adapt to the codex of their leader.

Once Kal'erundir had been settles, the mines had been dug and the settlement fortified, did Kal'Erundir strike out to the neighbouring mountain settlements. With diplomats and great zeal did they detail their plan, their advancement and the civilisation they would build to rival that of any elf or human. Few if any dwarf listened, so the dwarves of Erundir turned to the warpath and conquered several smaller settlements. The nature of the dwarvish settlements around them ensured that resistance to their occupation was little. For as difficult as it was for dwarves to create a stable society, it was just as difficult to arrange an organised resistance to the plan of the Erundir dwarves. For centuries Kal'Erundir sent out diplomats and warbands, later even armies, to the surrounding regions, expanding and consolidating in short, but brutal spheres of expansion.

With the growth of Kal'Erundir, the human settlements that bordered their mountains became restless with the growing and ever powerful dwarvish nation at their borders. But an attack to the human nations never came, for the codex of Erundir detailed that their society should be based of a unique dwarvish nation and culture, lest it fail the test of time. When one small, impoverished human kingdom approached the dwarves with notions of trade and friendship, the other human kingdoms felt betrayed and feared an invasion of the mountanous dwarves. The human kingdom was invaded and the dwarves of Kal'Erundir opened their gates for the swarm of human refugees that fled the land. The dwarves eventually sent their army to oust the invading armies and re-instate the dalish kingdom, under the protection of the growing dwarvish dominion.

For centuries more the dwarvish dominion grew, the conquered cities adapted and where properly converted into bastions of the plans of the great "Father" Erundir. For the past century, the dwarves of Kal'erundir have stood silent, quitly consolidating their latest holdings for the past decades. Now High king Smidr has deemed the dominion stable enough for further expansion in lands and power. His dream was a dwarvish nation that could rival any and all human empires of ages past. no matter the cost.

Yeah you'll have to put them at the end of your post.

Heres an example.

Outcome:
- 2 Health for wound from battle
~ New Magic Ability Learned: Fire Wave
~ Local tribe defeated: 20 spearmen deployed and leader][12 spearman died, leader survived][Enemy tribal garrison defeated: Tribe Taken][Soldier XP: +20 XP for each spearman][Resources Gained: Wood, Primitive Weapons, Housing Material][Prisoners: None][Character Awards: 2+ HP, +3 Skill Level, +1 Renown, +1 Intelligence]
~ 20 Mages sent on expedition][10 Mages return][Items Found: Advanced Book of Rituals, Magical Stone, Summoners Book, Gunpowder, Chest full of Riches][Character Awards: +900 Garons][Nation Awards: +20,000 Garons for Treasury]
!War Declaration! - War has been declared on the JohnDoe Kingdom][+100,000 levies are raised][Must wait one real time hour for |Man at Arms| to be rallied][Current Status: 30,000 levies march towards |DoeTown|]

[i]So something like that, not that complex..hopefully, just reply if you have questions or concerns to this[/u]

Name of Kingdom: Republic of Panottia
Ruler: Free Leader Yalu Takshivik
Description of Government:
Panottia can be described as one of the few democracies in the world. Every ten years her citizens gather in the Capital of Dakalish in order to cast their votes for the National Assembly and Free Leader positions. The National Assembly is a group of ten representatives, one from each of the nine cities plus one from the capital who work to pass and repeal laws, collect taxes, uphold order and generally keep the country running.

The position of Free Leader is determined through two processes. The secondary elections are held first and are meant to narrow the amount of candidates to three, whom are elected in the Primary elections. Impeachment can be imposed if the guilty party(s) can be proven to have committed their crime. All citizens of Pannotia (Citizens being defined as anyone who owns property or has applied for citizenship within Panottia)
Government Type: Constitutional Democracy
Sigil/Emblem:
Image

Population: 750,000 (540,000 Panotti) (165,000 Humans) (45,000 Elves)
Language(s): Pannotian, Human English
Date Formed: 615 A.V.
Race(s): 72% Panotti 22% Human 6% Elf
Capital City: Dakalish
Land Controlled: Unsure of what's open on the map. Panottia is similar to Tibet, Bhutan or Nepal in that it's mainly within high mountains.
Allies: Historically closer to minor races than the major ones. It's looking to make allies.
Enemies: Historically both Elves and Humans, but that was long since patched over. Panottia has no immediate enemies.
Currency: Kushel
Motto: Against any odds, Survive
Military Size:
2,000 Republic Guard- The Republic Guard is one of the most isolated yet important military structures within the country. Members are selected at birth and live their entire lives training and being indoctrinated to protect the Republic. At the age of six they are given a Griffon to raise, whom will become their mount when they reach the age of sixteen. They are expert killers and receive the most generous funding from the State and Free Leader himself. These are the men who would rather die than see their country be subjugated. They retire at the age of 55 unless they hold a commanding role. They are also the only members of the armed service to receive a pension for the rest of their lives.
6,000 Archers- The Archers are more liberal when recruiting it's members. Men or women between the age of 12 and 40 can enlist (Though past the age of 35, you must pay for your own archery training). The Archers also accept far more Elves and Humans than the Republic Guard, and as such is a more diversified unit. Doctrine states that they were to engage in guerilla warfare should Panottia ever be invaded, though they are suitable for scout duties and regular Archery formations.
10,000 Infantry- The Infantry are the last Government-Controlled Military Unit. One could enlist or be enlisted between the ages of 8-45 with 50 being retirement age. Generally arming themselves with supplements from the government, being apart of the Infantry would be the first step to political office in the Republic. Members are only required to serve five years after enlistment though many decide to stay for longer periods of time as military service is seen as an honorable pursuit in life. Any race may enlist in the Infantry.
History of Nation:

The Panotti are an ancient and cultured people with an existence tied back as far as Elves and Humans and perhaps even earlier. The Panotti legends claim that they were the first people's to exist on the planet. They tell of a great nation of peaceful farmers and friendly traders. A world where there was no war and there was harmony among all. They call this period The Era of Reflection because it is a time in which the Panotti would like to return to. The legends then show the end of the Reflective Era and begin into the Era of Fire. Humanity and Elven populations exploded and easily started to overtake the Panotti, forming their own nations.

Genocide raged across the world as the Panotti were slaughtered by the once minor races. Millions were tortured, crucified or burnt alive as the world sought a new beginning. The Era of Fire is a period that inspires hate and disgust in all those within the Republic. These events led directly to the Panottian Diaspora, the breakup and isolation of various Panottian communities. All records of the past were destroyed and the memory would live on solely through oral traditions and stories.

After hundreds of year of facing the brunt of war, disease and overall poverty the Race was nearly extinct with only 42,000 living throughout the entire world, with most living in communities of only around 60-72 individuals. One Panotti was determined not to allow his people to fade into the shadow of time, the revered Khando Yama. He spent his life traveling the world and bringing together the various small communities for one final exodus. It's said he traveled for thirty years across the land that would soon become the Arvanian Empire before finally finding the huge but fertile Khetsun Sangpo Mountains. He placed his staff into the rocks and declared that the Panotti would found a new nation, a Republic within those mountains and they would survive the troubling times ahead. He died the very next day and his people, around 27,000 founded the city of Dakalish.

Over the next two ages nine more settlements would be founded and the population would grow exponentially. Ancient traditions and the native langauge were brought back as the new Panottian Republic isolated itself from the world. It was unaware of the fall of the fall of the Arvanian Empire until the arrival of thousands of Humans seeking a new home after the rise of the Elven Republic. Mainly consisting of political dissidents they were welcomed and were allowed to become full citizens. It was about this time that Griffons were domesticated by the Panottians. Their strong wings and minds were valued as transportation and as a force of war. The number of Griffons increased drastically as they were allowed their native breeding grounds back by the Panottians.

Following the fall of the Elven Republic a second wave of refugee's arrived at the gates of the Khetsun Sangpo Mountains. This time they were Elves, fleeing expected persecution by Humanity once again. The Free Leader convened with the National Assembly and once again approved the Refugee's as citizens. So began both the Human and Elven minorities within the Republic. In more recent times official laws have been passed so as to make it easier to accept and grant asylum to those fleeing persecution. Currently there are even 42 Goblins whom fled the Raven Commonwealth.

If their is a possibility for the addition of a large continent for me and Panottia, that would be really nice.
In such a case, I will drastically lower my general population, because I would not need such drastically high numbers for survival and it would be more interesting to play the "growing dwarvish nation" ideal.

As I already said I will notify darksworth to add a mountainous continent on the map.
