Name: Alexis Callaghan
Age: Appears 15
Gender: Female
Race: Theocracy Android
Appearance: Here; red glasses are for style
Young Blood?: Yes
Bio: The girl known as Alexis Callaghan, daughter of Harry and Madison Callaghan, is a friendly, athletic and fun-loving student who moved to San Diego with her parents to begin her high school education in Thomsen High after having studied elsewhere in California. Despite arriving to a school full of strangers, some of whom were not merely humans, she integrated herself into the student community rather well, easily making friends due to her cheery disposition, and even gaining some popularity due to the various clubs and extracurricular activities she took part in, becoming one of the more notorious students among Thomsen High's freshmen (though naturally not as much as known heroes and superhumans who studied in the same school). In her free time, whenever she is not socializing with her friends and classmates, she dedicates herself to building various advanced machines and gadgets in a make-shift laboratory in her basement, though she keeps these a secret from other people as per her parents' request.

The above is mostly true, but it misses the most fundamental details. Alexis Callaghan the human girl does not truly exist; she is an android built by the Theocracy to infiltrate human society. However, unlike her android 'siblings', Cora and Hunter, she was not sent with a mission of destruction. Built by the Choir of Resurrection instead of the Choir of Destruction, she was sent to Earth by the Theocracy's leader with the intention of having her show humanity the superiority of synthetic beings over organic ones. To this end, she was made to perfectly resemble a normal human girl of an age that was deemed quite important for human development. An infertile couple desiring a child was located, and memories were fabricated for both them and Alexis, making them all believe that they were a happy ordinary family, though Alexis is destined to eventually realize the truth about herself and serve as an ambassador between organic and synthetic lifeforms.

For now, however, she is ignorant of all of this and more than happy to enjoy her time in high school and her teenage years, especially since it's the end of the school year and she was invited to a certain party...
Powers:
  • [Android Physiology]: Alexis is an android created by the Theocracy, as mentioned. Thus, her body is built with synthetic materials and her mind is made of alien codes. This grants her resistance against powers that manipulate organic materials, as well as against mental attacks.
    • [Enhanced Condition]: As a result of being an artificial lifeform, Alexis' physical condition is quite different from that of a human. Most notable is her durability, increased to absurd levels by human standards due to the alloys and fibers her body is made of, but her strength, agility and reflexes are also enhanced to a smaller degree, and her internal power source ensures that her stamina is limitless.
    • [Supernatural Intelligence]: Having a mind with a processing power far greater than a regular human's, Alexis can think and solve problems much faster, not to mention she stores and retains data near-perfectly as well.
    • [Technological Intuition]: Alexis possesses knowledge of the Theocracy's superior technology inside of her mind in the form of blocked memories. While this does not mean she has memorized schematics and such, she instinctively knows how to replicate advanced technology... or get as close as she can with her resources, in any case.
  • [Gadget Gladiator]: Alexis uses an assortment of various gadgets and pieces of equipment to pull her weight on the battlefield (see below).
  • [Mech Warrior]: One of Alexis' many projects that have been brought to life is a mech called Oberon, the Sovereign (see below).

Limitations:
  • Though she is stronger and more capable than a regular human, there are certain limits placed on her with the intention of making her seem more human: processing errors, coordination failures, artificial afflictions and other such things.
  • Since the tools she has available are often not as sophisticated as necessary to create quality products, the gadgets and weapons she makes are often simply crude imitations of advanced technology.
  • As she regards herself as a regular human instead of an advanced android, she will often act as if she did not possess the abilities she does. She will, for example, be afraid of getting shot despite the fact that she could survive it. She won't ignore the obvious or things that have been shown to her in the past, though.
  • Not being an organic being and thus lacking natural regenerative abilities, it is not possible for her to heal up on her own in the unlikely event that she does sustain damage.

Weaknesses:
  • [Pain]: Despite her durability, Alexis can still feel pain and has just as much of an aversion to it as any human girl. Though it likely won't cause much damage, pain can distress her and lead to poor decisions, among other things.
  • [Lightness]: Alexis is quite light, perhaps slightly more so than would be expected of a girl her age and size. Thus, it isn't difficult for other superhumans to toss her around, whether they have super strength or seismic or telekinetic powers.

Likes: Socializing, fantastical stories, sports, theatrics, building machines.
Dislikes: Skeptics, jealous people, inclement weather, messing up, keeping her machines to herself.

Additional Information-
Birthday: May 22nd
Theme song: Here
Favorite food: Burgers and fries
Greatest fear: Growing distant from her friends

Equipment:
[Head]

  • [HUD Visor]: A blue visor that covers Alexis' face and gives her access to a heads-up display containing various data, including the integrity and power levels of her other gadgets and the status of her fellow team members (via their locator pins). It can take a few bullets before breaking.
  • [Communicator]: Self-explanatory.

[Chest]

  • [Armor Vest]: A black vest that protects Alexis from things like knives and handgun fire.
  • [Shield Generator]: A glowing blue machine attached to the center of Alexis' vest which generates a form-fitting forcefield around her, able to resist superhuman blows, bullets and explosions alike, though it has a limited battery. (Can be disrupted by sustained, intense sonic pulses)
  • [Locator Pin]: A small pin in the shape of a stylized Y and B put together, allows others to monitor her location and vitals, and allows her to send out a distress signal to all other Young Bloods in case of emergency.

[Hands]

  • [Multi-Purpose Electronic Gauntlets]: A pair of metallic gauntlets which cover Alexis' hands and part of her forearms, sporting a massive array of different tools and functions.
    • A holographic interface which allows her to create and tweak blueprints, as well as consult information.
    • A recording module which allows her to record and play various reminders and other important snippets of information.
    • An interconnection module, which allows the gauntlets to interface with nearby machines, as well as specific machines such as Alexis' computer regardless of distance.
    • A repulsion module which allows Alexis to discharge pulses of energy which violently repel any nearby matter. (Can be disrupted)
    • A traction module which allows Alexis to attract objects from afar. (Can be disrupted)
    • A grip module which combines the functions of the repulsion and traction modules to grant Alexis a limited form of telekinesis. (Can be disrupted)
    • A regeneration module which emits energy that revitalizes the cells in a living organism and increases the rate at which injuries heal and energy replenishes. Also applies an analgesic effect.
    • A wrist-mounted cannon that fires cylindrical darts which release powerful electrical discharges upon contact. One on each gauntlet, each can store up to three at a time.
    • An assortment of minor medical items, including wound-sealing gel, disinfectant spray, and anesthetic injections.
    • A small plasma torch on the right gauntlet's index finger.

[Feet]

  • [Rocket Boots]: Boots equipped with repulsion-based anti-gravity technology and special thrusters, granting Alexis the ability to fly with incredible speed and maneuverability. (Can be disrupted)

[Other]

  • [Power Cells]: The specially-made batteries that power all of Alexis' equipment while she's out on duty. While they don't seem to have an use beyond that, in desperate times Alexis can eject these power cells from her gear and detonate them, generating devastating explosions.

Name: Oberon
Appearance: Here
Powers:
  • [Robotic Body]: As a mecha, Oberon is designed to be a force to be reckoned with, able to face off against powerful superhuman. This translates into speed, strength, and most notably, durability that is far beyond a regular human's threshold.
  • [Force Blades]: The swords that Oberon wields incorporate force-field technology, which allows them to either violently repel enemies as a means of attack or slice clean through most materials. While they are not a part of Oberon per se, they can be stored within its body and deactivated remotely.
  • [Arm Cannons]: Oberon can morph its hands into cannons which fire off bursts of blue energy. The intensity of these attacks can vary; while they are usually restrained to non-lethal output, they can become more powerful to match an escalating situation, potentially having the intensity to punch through several walls. Sustained beams are also an option, though they are far more draining and leave Oberon vulnerable.
  • [Energy Wings]: The energy wings on Oberon's back give it the ability of high speed flight and allow it complete control over direction and acceleration, making it a very agile airborne fighter. The wings themselves are incorporeal, though the emitters are not.
  • [Shield Generator]: In addition to its natural resilience, Oberon is equipped with an energy shield which normally takes the form of a tight-fitting bubble, though it can be focused directionally to offer a greater defense at the cost of leaving other areas exposed. The shield is designed to take on anything from superhuman blows to bullets to explosions.

Limitations:
  • Oberon has no artificial intelligence of any sort and as such cannot function independently of Alexis (or another designated pilot).
  • While it has large energy reserves and internal generators which extend its battery life, Oberon cannot fight forever. As a rule of thumb, the more intense its performance, the faster it will run out of energy.
  • For obvious reasons, Oberon cannot use its arm cannons and force blades at the same time (though it can alternate).
  • In addition to having a limited capacity to absorb damage, Oberon's shields have another drawback: while focusing them directionally, Oberon cannot use its arm cannons.
  • While using its arm cannons to fire a sustained energy beam, Oberon must remain stationary, which makes it a sitting duck; firing a beam also deactivates the shields, as all of the mech's energy is poured into it (it can be used during flight, but it will not achieve its maximum output this way).

Weaknesses:
  • [Disruption]: While Oberon is immune to EMPs, the technology that its force blades, energy wings and shield generator rely on can be disrupted through the use of sustained high-intensity sonic pulses. This turns Oberon into a still very tough yet unshielded and flightless mech.
  • [Overheat]: Excessive amounts of heat coming from external sources can cause Oberon's internal heat dissipation to fail, prompting it to shut down completely as a failsafe.
  • [Backstab]: Oberon's wing emitters, which are on its back, are an easy target if its shields are not active at the moment: without too much effort, they can be destroyed or torn off, rendering Oberon flightless.

Name: Carter Graystone
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance (pics if possible):
Young Blood?: Yes
Bio(Please treat this as a replacement for a writing sample. No more than a few paragraphs is necessary but it should be well written):
Powers:
  • Aeromancy: Carter can manipulate air in all forms, including air, wind, gas, vapor, and much more. He can manipulate the molecules to preform several different attacks and maneuvers. These include wind gusts and waves, balls of condensed wind, smokescreens, clouds of gas, etc. He can also manipulate the individual molecules to speed up or slow down, simulating the effects of heat energy being exerted. This can, with time, turn gases into liquids, although he can't control them once they become liquid. As well, he can speed up and slow down the actual wind itself, changing the speed from extremely calm to gale levels of wind. He can even remove the air from a certain area, creating small vacuums.
  • Like The Wind: Carter doesn't just control wind, his body acts like it. He had faster reflexes, light-footedness, acrobatic abilities, and overall more speed, agility, and leaping prowess than a normal human.
  • Athleticism: Carter is a good athlete who's pretty fast, pretty strong, and can play sports pretty well. He is good at skiing and rollerblading, but his favorite sport is track, particularly sprints.
  • Trilingual: Carter is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.

Limitations (Reasons why your char can’t end the universe):
  • While he does have the strength to throw some human male adults around, he can't exactly throw cars and bend trees. With enough time and concentration, and in good shape, he can toss a 200lb human around, but definitely won't be destroying any cars. And while he can stop things that are moving slow enough by creating large amounts of drag, he can't stop small, extremely fast objects like bullets. Sure, they won't kill him, but they will leave a mark and will feel pretty bad.
  • As well, many of his very powerful attacks, such as turning gas into liquid and creating vacuums, require time and concentration to preform, sometimes taking longer than thirty seconds. As well, for him to be able to do said complex powers and throw men around, he needs to be in good-condition. If he's tired or injured, he becomes weaker.

Weaknesses (Reasons why someone could kick their ass):
  • Mental Attacks: Is vulnerable to telepathy, possession, and other mental attacks
  • Magic: While he can combat certain forms of magic, other forms, such as aquamancy and electromancy are difficult to combat and Carter has to rely on pure evasive speed to dodge those.
  • Speed:: If someone is of equal or greater speed than Carter, it basically negates his lightfootedness and speed. Carter peaks at 27 MPH, so if someone can go faster than him, he'll have to rely on reflexes and leaping.

Is it just me, or would it be really fun for some characters to get into a fight about something or other at the party? They are just high school students at the end of the year, so it would be realistic.

I agree, that would be pretty fun :P unfortunately the one character I have at the party isn't much for violence or starting a fight, but I support the idea anyway.

I wouldn't mind my character starting/joining a fight with someone. Currently he's eating and if someone where to bump into him thus causing his food to fall to the floor...well he'd be very vengeful to say the least. While he wouldn't normally be so confrontational I could just say he mistakenly drank alcohol thinking it was something else.

Considering making either a Robin-esc or Deadshot-esc type character. Is this already taken up?

I have a char who is similar to nightwing/robin. Deadshot not as much though, though he might be a little harder to work into the rp

At least for the first part of the RP, it's going to focus largely on the YB, so independent villains will probably have limited interaction opportunities at first.

Ah, I should have clarified. By that, I meant that he would be a weapons expert with a high level of marksmanship. Possibly more of an antihero vibe. Maybe using the Red Hood would've been a better example.

Name: Austin "Red" Flanagan
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: 5'10", 185 lbs, messy red hair, and an athletic build.
Young Blood?: Yes
Bio:

Life has not been kind for Austin Flanagan.

Born in the slums of New York City, his mother was an alcoholic and his father's identity was unknown. As a young child he suffered verbal abuse from his mother as well as physical abuse from the many "friends" that his mother frequently brought to their small one bedroom apartment. Any sense of love and affection that a child should receive was absent, and instead was replaced with hatred.

It came as no surprise that at the age of 6 Austin decided to run away from home, swiping the wallet from both his abusive mother on the way out. Even for as young as he was, Austin was able to survive on his own for almost an entire month with the help of further pickpocketing.

However, it was an inevitability that the boy was to be caught by the proper authorities. When he was questioned by the authorities on where he belonged, he refused to even give them his own name. With his mother not bothering to step forward, and with no other means to identify him, he was given the nickname "Red" by the Social Services workers.

Austin, now known as Red, went through foster families faster than lightning as he'd either run away or steal from them. After a year of this, it looked like Red was going to become just another trouble child who'd eventually end up back on the streets once he turned 18.

However, Red's antics caught the eyes of a certain organization that was in need of children just like Red. This organization was the massive yet inconspicuous group known as Lycan, whose ultimate goal was the advancement of the human race over the various other species that spanned across the various worlds. Since their work was done mostly in the shadows, they needed individuals that were both capable of accomplishing any task given to them as well as obediently follow their masters.

To accomplish this, Red and 29 other children his age were shipped off to a remote training facility deep within the Siberian wilderness where they would be trained by members of Warwolf International, Lycan's private military corporation that did most of their dirty work. Their head instructor was a man that went by the name "Reaper". He had been involved in practically ever major conflict around the world on whatever side had paid the most money until Warwolf International managed to snag him a long term contract he couldn't refuse.

Reaper' straining was brutal. Every single moment of these children's' lives were devoted to learning how to become the deadliest soldiers on the planet. By the time the children had turned 14 only 5 of them remained. For those that remained, they all possessed the athletic abilities of an Olympian as well as the mental prowess of an Ivy League professor.

Through the entire ordeal, Red had become fairly attached to the others within the group and had even managed to gain a much friendlier attitude, albeit with the ability to turn into a cold hearted killer at any given moment. The same could be said of the others in the group, who saw each other as family.

Pleased with their results, Lycan began to assign the group, known only as "The Five", on various missions across the world. Assassinations, intelligence gathering, and stealing anything Lycan needed for their ambitions. These days were surprisingly pleasant for Red as he finally felt as though he had a purpose.

Red would've likely stayed along this path had it not been for one fateful day when The Five was sent on what seemed like an ordinary job. They were supposed to oversee an arms deal between a Lycan and a Middle Eastern terror group, a task that had been done several times before.

However, when they arrived, there was no sign of the supposed arms deal. Instead, all that was present was a small tablet placed in the middle of the building. Unsure what else to do, Red picked the device up, only to hear a familiar voice speak up from it.

"You've become too much of a liability. Nothing personal."

Before the words could register for Red, a bullet ripped through his chest, and soon the other members of his team suffered the same fates. All of this happened in a matter of seconds, seconds that were pure agony for Red who was still somehow conscious.

A figure stepped out of the shadows holding a rifle with its barrel still smoking. Red recognized it as none other than the man who had been his mentor for the past decade, Reaper. He showed no sense of remorse for his actions, instead it was more a look of annoyance to find that Red was still alive. The man gave a small shrug before walking up to the boy and placing a gun to his head.

"Sorry kid, but we've decided you were all too risky to keep around. Besides, if I hadn't pulled the trigger on you all now, it probably would've been me bleeding out on the floor eventually. I'm sure you understand."

The sound of the safety being flicked was about to be the last sound Red was to hear before suddenly the window above was broken as a figure leaped down from below, the distinct sound of a bow's string filling the air. Reaper managed to barely avoid the oncoming projectiles and was now cornered by the super hero known as Quick Shot.

With no other options, Reaper detonated the explosive charges he had placed prior to the group's arrival, causing the building to collapse. Red, believing this was finally the end, began to close his eyes for the final time. As he did, he couldn't help but imagine feeling as if he was being carried, but he chalked it up to the Devil likely taking Red back to where he belonged.

Instead of waking up in a fiery pit, however, Red instead woke up to find himself laying on a bed in a small white room. Believing he had died and somehow made it to heaven, he tried to sit up from his bed only to find that his hands and feet were handcuffed to the bed. Realizing he was very much alive, Red looked around to find himself hooked up to a variety of medical devices as well as a familiar seemed to be taking a nap on a recliner.

With no other options, Red called out to the man, who seemed none to pleased to be disturbed from his rest. As the man approached, Red suddenly recognized the man as the person who had came crashing through the windows.

Red began to barrage him with questions, the first being the status of the other 4 members of his team. When the news that they had been found dead in the wreckage was given, Red felt his heart nearly fall out of his chest. However, this feeling was soon replaced with a blazing sense of anger as his next question was what had become of Reaper. Quick Shot could only say that his body hadn't been found, meaning that he was likely still alive.

Fury ripped through Red as he struggled to break from his restraints, actually succeeded in breaking off one of them before Quick Shot spoke up. He had clues that could track down the man, even though they were faint at best. Quick Shot told Red that he would give these clues to him only on the condition that he give up on his life as a mercenary and instead use his talents to help save others.

At first, Red couldn't help but laugh at the idea. Him, a kid who had already killed dozens of people whose innocence was more or less up for debate, being a superhero? Quick Shot didn't seem to share the humor, as with a serious tone he told Red that his other option was to remained locked up for the rest of his life with no way to track down Reaper.

The choice, while ridiculous, was made obvious for Red. He accepted the offer and thus sealed his fate to become what he had been trained for a decade to fight against. While he was given a relative amount of freedom, Red was forced to abide by a series of rules laid out by Quick Shot, the most important one being not able to kill anyone under any circumstance.

Currently, at the request of Quick Shot, Red is attending school at Thomsen High. Red tried to argue that he had received more than enough training and education in his past, but his mentor simply told him that there were things that couldn't be learned from a book or manual.

Powers:
  • Advanced Training: Due to his training, Red possesses superior athletic skills that are paired with a sharp wit that makes him a formidable opponent. He is proficient in the use of weapons, long distance firearms especially. Should a weapon not be immediately available, he also is a master of several different martial arts, making him a dangerous threat for anyone that finds themselves a target of his.

Limitations:
  • Physical Limits While far above the levels of an average human, Red still is bound by the physical limitations of the human body.
  • Abide By The Rules: Red is no longer allowed to kill, and doing so will result in him being imprisoned for the rest of his days. There are also several other actions that will result in the same punishment.

Weaknesses:
  • Human Mortality: Red is like every other human, meaning that anything that would kill or injure a regular person will more or less do the same to him.

Likes: Detective movies, reading, and the outdoors.
Dislikes: Becoming too overly attached to others and being left in the dark in regards to information.

Apologies if I took too much liberty with some of the existing characters. I can edit if needed.

I personally don't think there was anything game-breakingly wrong with your app, though I'll let Tom take this one anyway, especially since the character's story is somewhat similar to Roy's :P

I think my only issue with the app is what Zark pointed out, this kind of messes with Roy's backstory, since this char has a very similar background to him. I wouilsnt even necessarily mind Valancy adopting him too, but if that's going to be the case I'd like for his story to be more different than Roy's. Or chose someone other than Valancy, either of those work for me.

I can make edits in about a half hour or so, if that's fine.

So looking at Roy's app now, I didn't even realize how similar his was to mine. I promise, I hadn't even looked at his app prior to creating mine. I think I'll just go to the chopping blocks with the current app and more or less start over. Disappointing because I spent a fair amount of time on it, but it's my fault for not browsing through the existing list.

Well, I understand, but I hope I didn't push you to that because I definitely think you can fix the app. But if you'd rather start over that works too.

Updated my application. Fingers crossed it's a bit better this time around.

Pretty sure the app should work just fine now. I'll go ahead and accept it.

Relatively flat post there, apologies. However, I hope you've caught on that I'm setting up Red to possibly become a rival to Roy. Friendly competition, I promise.
