Nah, don't worry about Siegmund. He's of the old breed, but he's easy to get along with so long as you can get past his somewhat somberness and occassional wisecrackingWysten wrote:I was also thinking NUC that after lunch and get comfortable where we are we should go to the range and start setting up.
Sounds good, once I can get a post up of course...Maybe I'll just TG you some stuff to save the trouble of two posts

I meant more along lines of I'll send you some dialogue from my character to you, so they can interact before I post. That way you can move the conversation and the pair to the firing range. So when I post, I'll just play a little catch up and move the interaction up from there

Welp. I guess I'll hold off on the operation.

I am a bit confused are you saying I include the dialogue in my post or no?

I'm sure someone'd we willing to lend a friendly German some ammo. I mean a base without ammo is kind of like a KFC without chicken, right?
Though if it'll derail your plans, I have no problem holding off with such a thingWysten wrote:I am a bit confused are you saying I include the dialogue in my post or no?
Basically you go to talk to Siegmund, and I give you what my character would say in response. That way you don't have to wait for me to post before you can continue the conversation
But it seems that won't be nessacry so pay it no mind

Won't there be an armorer to dispense ammunition in case of accidents and bookkeeping of munitions? While each personnel would have their own ammunition and weapons on standby during deployment, firing ranges should have someone keeping track of users and dispensing requested ammunition so soldiers do not run out of their own ammo should emergencies happen.

The Base Armory Keeps track of all weapons on base and all ammo in his armory. The Range Masters also keep track of all ammo brought to firing ranges. The Armory also keeps preloaded mags in case for emergencies, though if going by Trash Hauler to sight they will load Ammo Cans of each type of ammo needed so the operators can load the Mags themselves once at staging point.

Not sure about your side but during exercises to Australia and Thailand our weapons were kept in the armory while we're in base after cleaning and maintenance at the end of the day. Even during a stand-to during Guard Duty our weapons were kept by a Sgt with the key to the armskote, and everyone previously sleeping has to assemble within two minutes of the alarm. Only time we kept our arms was in daytime but no ammunition at all.
Platoon-sized units have to assist in drawing arms and signing out ammunition and everything when the call came... Live ammo isn't handled till deployment because of the risk of suicides, shootings, accidental discharge etc... so ammo would probably be dispensed during range training as proper procedure and safety, as would be the same during deployment.

Full Name: Pak Sŏng-ae (Sung-ae Pak)
Rank: 중사; Chungsa (Sergeant)
Gender: Female
Birthdate: 8 July Juche 83 [8 July 1994] ( aged 25)
Birthplace: Wonsan, Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Nationality: North Korean
Educational Degrees: High school diploma. No higher education.
Description: Standing at 5 feet 1 inch (155 cm), 5’2”, and weighing 90 pounds (40.8 kilograms), Sung-ae isn’t exactly the most imposing special forces operative to ever live. Has no tattoos or scars.
Criminal Background:Medical History:
- She heard a political joke once. She reported said political joker. Said political joker was never heard from again.
Prior Service History:
- Chipped front right tooth (at age 12).
- Continuous childhood malnutrition.
Qualifications:
- Korean People’s Army Ground Force (2011-2015)
- Korean People's Army Special Operation Force (2015-2017)
- Korean People's Army Special Operation Force, “Lightning Commandos” (2017-present)
Operational Role: Grenadier/Support Rifleman
- Black belt in Tae Kwon Do
- Knows both Northern and Southern dialects of Korean, as well as Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and English.
- Scuba training
- Basic first aid
Psychological Evaluation: On the surface, Pak Sung-ae seems very much a standard North Korean, with her blind patriotism and fanatical loyalty to the Kim family. But she is far more than that. A clever, creative woman, she is quick to catch on to new things. Stubborn by nature, she rarely gives a thought to the idea of retreat even in the face of overwhelming odds.
Biography: Pak Sŏng-ae was born in the city of Wonsan, North Korea, on a most inauspicious day: the death of the first president of North Korea, Kim Il-Sung. Her parents, devout communists and followers of the regime, chose to interpret Sung-ae as the General Secretary’s last gift to the loyal family, and named her after Kim Il-Sung’s second wife in reverence to the late leader.
As she grew up, Pak Sŏng-ae was always told she was a gift from the Eternal President. This inspired a deep loyalty from the young girl, who often regarded the Eternal President like a third parent- not that she would be so arrogant to claim such or act so casual about the Eternal President of course- and revered him as the reason she existed. She constantly sought to prove herself worthy, always running forwards and attacking the cutouts of “American bastards” up close and personal. It absolutely delighted her teachers, who greatly enjoyed her enthusiasm and dedication to the state. Her enthusiasm and constant energy were not without consequence, however. In harder times, she would often be more hungry than her classmates of equal social standing, by account of her constantly expending more energy than them. She refused to let this hold her back, and only pushed harder in those times. Come age 17, she was officially considered an adult. She graduated secondary school and, after traveling to Pyongyang for the first time when she took the train from Wonsan to watch Kim Jong-Il’s funeral, joined the Korean People’s Army.
KPA rations were far better than the food she often received when she was a girl. She constantly pushed herself harder and longer than her comrades-in-arms. This did not go unnoticed, and 4 years into her service she was selected to join the Special Operations Forces. She was trained harder than ever, she refused to give as always. She was instructed on how to operate western equipment, from the tiny little pocket computers known as “I-Pods” to the M16A1 rifle. In 2017, she was again selected to join the new elite unit known as the “Lightning Commandos”, the North Korean answer to the American Navy SEALs. Here she was issued a remarkable new weapon- an assault rifle with an integrated grenade launcher, North Korea’s answer to similar Chinese and South Korean weapons.
For the next two years, she would see no action, merely training, training, and training again. Waiting for the day the American bastards would strike her beloved homeland. Of course, the DPRK was suddenly struck by a surprise ambush from a malevolent threat before the Americans launched their invasion. 3 nuclear weapons, stolen from the DPRK right under their noses! A multinational United Nations task force was formed. As it was an international effort, and it was North Korean nuclear warheads in question, it was only logical the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea send an operative from their best force to join the hunt for the stolen weapons. Pak Sŏng-ae jumped at the opportunity to prove herself in the eyes of her glorious homeland.
