True but the Mandator 2 was different if i remember correctly, it was made to be able to have massive amounts of firepower, that was why no separatist ever attacked Kuat after the Pride of the Corp was built.

That's a good point, do you think the Empire would've refit the vessel to bring it more in line with the Tarkin Doctrine, or just scrap it along most of the other Republic-era vessels?

Given we “know” such vessels served in the KDY defense fleet through the Battle of Endor, I wouldn’t be comfortable saying it was retrofitted necessarily, but it certainly wouldn’t have been scrapped. The Empire was pragmatic, maintaining old serviceable designs where they still filled a useful role, and supplementing them with new craft like the Imp-2 where possible. Retrofitting such a large vessel as a Mandator Dread probably would’ve been too expensive to justify as compared to laying down new ISDs, but they still filled a useful role insofar as any pirates/rebels they encounter were likely working with a similar tier of vessel age. They didn’t need to duel ISDs, and couldn’t, but they were great for seeing off the odd Seppie remnant or pirate.

Indeed- but remember, we’re still talking in the context of the Clone Wars. The Mandator-II was certainly a heavily armed capital ship for her era, but is also specifically noted to have been outgunned Empire-era capital ships. Given the most widely used capital ship of that era was an ISD...
