Vilseck would be a very by-the-numbers selection, but he is the least likely to turn the speech to disaster.

Medina is a possibility, on the conservative side of the party, but not yet having proved too alienating.

Smith or O'Leary would both obviously mark a commitment to seeking the younger, more progressive vote.

Huerta has the greatest star power and potential wake, but has a rather problematic relationship with the DNC.

Schlang would be a highly unorthodox choice, but carries too much baggage.

Patton is extremely unlikely, given her rather open break with the party and its leadership.

Rhodes would be a bland selection, and add nothing new. A replacement-level fill-in.

Carrollton would be amusing.

Adkins or Hammitch could be drafted into the speech as potential rising candidates, and seeking to appeal to a more blue-collar angle.

Florrick could be an excellent speaker, but her position would make delivering it awkward at best.

One of the newcoming Representatives, Fransworth or Prazek, would be a fairly generic rising choice. Barnum may be too toxic.

Should Schmidt win the Connecticut Special Election, he could be a decent selection.

Darnell is too erratic for such a selection.

De Nieto would be an abnormal choice, but could rally some sections of the party.

Kuznetsov would not speak.

I personally think De Nieto is the best choice of those available.

I could consider the three leading candidates to be Medina, Huerta, and De Nieto, with a fourth candidate being one of the newer crop of Representatives or a rising blue-collar speaker. The Democratic choice between them would be an indicator of their intended direction.

Could I apply for the seat warmer in New York?

I wouldn't have him run in the election.

It is easier to take an appointed seat than an elected one.

Additionally, it would be rather odd for the holder of the seat not to run in the special election that he or she was likely selected for.

I feel like my desire to get new characters is spurned by how agonizingly slow the RP has been moving for the past few months.

How so? It doesn't seem to be moving much at all. It feels likr we've been on January and February since October.

The cabinet nominations and initial legislation were held up greatly, for extended periods, by player absences and scheduling difficulties. With those alternatively completed, or at the point of being set aside, the current event to help newcomers ease into interaction is the final slow portion remaining at present.

If there are others shooting, and I believe there are, sign onto the sheet when you have the chance.

If Sinclair wished to make a late entrance, and he may or may not as he chooses, I do not particularly care either way, it has gotten to a rather late point.

Governor Williams might actually give a State of the Union response about how Reed is not doing enough to punish the gays and/or the transgenders.

He attended a prestigious K-12 private school in Vancouver, until he was kicked out in 8th grade for "accidentally" starting a fire in the school gym. The Carlyle family turned around and sued the school for an undisclosed amount which lawyers described to the press as a "shit ton of money." Carlyle finished high school at Robert Borden High.

Carlyle attempted to attend Washington State University but was expelled after being caught cheating on 20 separate exams. After his father pulled a few strings he managed to get a free ride to Northwestern University where he managed to complete journalism school.
He landed a cushy job at The Washington Post but was fired for "undisclosed reasons"

Carlyle wandered around for the next few years, and wound up getting arrested in Utah for illegal gambling. He managed to be paroled after serving two months of his six month sentence because he was a model inmate.

Carlyle wrote a book about his time in prison which surprisingly landed on the New York Times bestseller list. He got a job offer from "The Oregonian" and moved to Portland where he met his wife Matilda, a British woman. Together they had a son named

When Carlyle turned 40 he quit his job at The Oregonian and decided to start his own news outlet. With a small team of writers he founded "The Social Issue."
