Character Name: Dale Karlsson

Positive Traits: Clever, Hard Labourer
Negative Traits: Pugnacious, Selfish and an Introvert

Biography: Born in Brandenburg, Germany. Dale never had the easy life like many other German kids during the 90s. His father was a retired officer and a drunkard and his mother was long gone, due to death at giving birth to Dale. He was subjected to heavy labour and beatings at a young age due to his father being devastated by his wife's death. He did manage to get into primary school and even highschool however, mostly doing sports and physical education. He never was a team-player in school though, nor sociable. He always tend to himself, looking for solutions to problems that would mainly benefit him above all else.

The summers, where he wasn't focused on school, he accompanied his father at his travels. They fished, shot guns and gambled. Although his father beats him once in awhile, he managed to find his only family in him.

Dale would be 19 when he found out that his father has re-married an American stateswoman from Frasier county. Dale did not like this, not one bit'. The bond he forged with his father was broken once again. Dale accused his father almost daily on how he shouldn't replace his mother like that. How he shouldn't stain his relationship with his old wife like that. Dale was still forced to go with his father into moving in Alabama even with his protest.

Getting adjusted to his new home was hard, especially since he has felt so detached from his only family. Dale wandered the streets and corners of Frasier county, even taking a dip on Lake Omago. He did his best to familiarize himself with the small county, but he could never replace his love for his old home in Germany. His father instructed him to get a job during one of those days he was in his new "home", and as much as he hates it, he can't argue with him. A job feeds a family after all. Dale worked in several jobs, he never stayed in one for more than a month or two however since his irrational and pugnacious behaviour has caused quite a ruckus. And he now finds himself in a job as a police officer. He never did any major cases as an cop though, with his only most intense situation being is subjugating teens from vandalizing cars. This would change however when he has caught news from the HQ that a dead body would be found in Lake Omago, in a summer camp.

@Darksworth, I'm going to accept you, although a young man from Germany only 3 years in America seems unlikely to be a poluce officer, let alone his German father somehow meeting a woman from a tiny, underpopulated county in Alabama. Regardless, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. Accepted.

Character Name: Rick Thomas
Appearance (Direct Link Preferred): This is more or less what Rick looks like. Please disregard the name of the officer and the name of the location on the uniform.
Age: (Must be at least 21) 52
Sex: Male

Positive Traits: (Required) Area knowledge. Having grown up in Frasier County, and familiar with the "boonies" as an active hunter, Rick knows the layout of the land.
Local Knowledge. Rick knows the people of the town and may remember a thing or two from town history. (As is the case with people from small towns, though, he won't know everything and some of what he "knows" is more educated guesswork).
Avid hunter. Rick spends some of his free time each year hunting during deer and wild hog season. He gets his limit, too, which means Rick is comfortable using rifles and other firearms. He's a decent shot, too.

Negative Traits: (Required, Must Balance Out Positive Traits)
Slow. Over the years, Rick has gained some weight which means he won't typically be able to chase down a suspect.
Low-tech. As is typical of men Rick's age, he isn't the most comfortable using computers. He can poke around and make a serviceable report on his computer, but he doesn't like using computers and would rather be on his feet then behind a desk. Also, Rick doesn't get why so many people have smart phones. He has the dumbest phone he can possibly get on the market. As long as it makes calls and tells him what day it is, he's good.

Born in Frazier county, Rick Thomas felt drawn to police work from a young age. At one time, he had been a decent defensive tackle and offensive lineman on the high school football team. But while he participated in sports, he wasn't planning on playing college ball. Grades were decent enough and so he got a partial scholarship to Florida State. There, he majored in psychology with a minor in criminology. After college, he served two tours in Vietnam in the Army, and then returned home after being honorably discharged. Rick applied for and was accepted to the state law enforcement academy. Graduated upper middle of the pack in target shooting.

Since his late 20's, Rick has been working as a deputy for the county Sheriff's office. He's done all kinds of jobs in the sheriff's office, even doing dispatch in his earlier years. Since then, Rick has been mostly a feet on the ground kind of guy. He sees paperwork as a necessary evil, and prefers not to be sitting behind a desk if he can help it. Rick considered running for sheriff himself one of these days, but has a high respect for Sheriff Paul Harrison and so won't run against him as long as Harrison wants to run. During hunting season, Rick unwinds by trying to get some deer and wild hogs with his brother Ray and a few friends he knows. He's bagged some. Last deer he got was a 6 point buck.

Rick's parents are still alive but slowing down. He has looked into some senior care living centers and between he and his brother Ray, they are thinking they will have to make the hard choice sooner rather than later of moving their parents from their family home. Rick has a lifetime's worth of area knowledge of the county, but doesn't know everything about it. He also knows a good many of the people, seeing former classmates he went to school with here and there, but while he has a decent knowledge of the people there, he doesn't know everything. Picks up some gossip here and there at the local cafe where the guys come in for coffee. But nothing alarming, just local chitchat.
