Hmm, that might be mildly problematic for me. I had planned on uniting the Powhatan tribes through war with the northern tribes. I've already hinted at a history of fighting (Mahigan's backstory), and I had planned on using the war as an excuse to expand north, run into the other Authors, and maybe secure one of the salt deposits near the Great Lakes. I know thats a long way off, but I've been trying to lay out a general arc. I think my first arc will end once the war ends and with the birth of a new nation (the Powhatan Confederacy).

Virginia, whereas, as far as I can tell from the map on Page 1, Ego is in central Canada. Thats about 700 miles in between them and me, as of now. (distance from Fairfax, Va, where I am now, to Chicago, Ill., the nearest city to Ego's southern border)

Olog-Hai, I'd have plenty of coal to trade for iron once I start mining it. There are two small coal deposits only a few days away from where I am now, and they aren't too deeply buried to make mining it infeasible. Plus, once I have coal, I intend to start production of concrete. I intend to use a cement based on fly ash, cooked in a clay furnace using charcoal initially, but then using a series of concrete furnaces. Once I have the coal, I can use that instead of the charcoal for producing fly ash. Once I get concrete furnaces up and running, I'll start working on producing brick furnaces for building with. If I might make a suggestion for prospecting, there are a series of massive clay deposits around Chatham, in northern NJ. I grew up there, and trust me when I say that the town actually grew out of the clay mining business. Every old house in the county is made using Chatham clay.
