Basically stereotypical Vikings ruled by a (definitely not immortal) succession of Kings. Kelmet was planning to change more to a republic versus feudalism, but right now they’re essentially a feudal society.

Posting here to remind myself to make some edits. Made mentions of chickens, but it was domesticated first either in India, Southeast Asia, or Polynesia and I'm not entirely sure it's already made its way to Greece. To be sure, I'm editing it out in favor of sheep or a pig or something that sounds more common to Neolithic Greece.

Really, only very vaguely. Stolen/looted weapons will form almost all the metallurgy they have beyond, say, copper arrowheads.

Second post is up, significantly longer than the first one, but then again, I've been working on it for two days or so. I'll try to have another post up later, covering my second day. Shits gonna hit the fan on my third day, I think.

BTW, Orson, do you mind if I use the impending showdown as a motivation for the conflict I'm gonna use to forge the Powhatan Confederacy? I was thinking about maybe saying that conflict is driving the Iroquois, who live around the great lakes and the ohio river valley, south, so they are coming into conflict with the Powhatan people.

Also, just a fun fact, the name I've given to each character has meaning in the Algonquin language group (the language used commonly by the Powhatan people), and reflects something about them or their character. For example, one of the village chieftain's daughters' name is Makkitotosimew, which means, 'she has large breasts.' This is meant not as a positive or negative in their culture, only a statement of fact.

I recognize that the Iroquois as a nation won't exist for thousands of years, I am just choosing to call those people 'Iroquois' literary convenience, just as I'm calling the Powhatan 'Powhatan,' even though they wouldn't exist as an official group until the 16th century. And I don't absolutely need it too happen, it would just make it convenient. I actually have something that I think might work better now.

I know that I'm new here, but I kinda interpreted it as being an inward focused nation. It doesn't strike me as the kind of place that emphasizes cultural influence

True, mostly because it's neighbors are just Neolithic tribes. Perhaps after the war then Ego will start going out and about.

Hmm, that might be mildly problematic for me. I had planned on uniting the Powhatan tribes through war with the northern tribes. I've already hinted at a history of fighting (Mahigan's backstory), and I had planned on using the war as an excuse to expand north, run into the other Authors, and maybe secure one of the salt deposits near the Great Lakes. I know thats a long way off, but I've been trying to lay out a general arc. I think my first arc will end once the war ends and with the birth of a new nation (the Powhatan Confederacy).
