Antonio Garcia recognized the independence of Gran Colombia and decided to put his new factories to the test and begin supplying them with weapons to arm there revolution against the oppressors that once controled them. Meanwhile the Oregon colony begain to expand exponentialy as more and more colonists moved into this new promising land lead by Hawkington Manson, who's managed to keep the indians at bay with unmached efficiency.

The first wave of ships were completed in Cancun as 10 Sloops-of-war set sail bolstering the Mexican navy. The next project was to increase the amount of 6th rates and construction begain immediately.

Budapest, Union of Hungary-Serbia

Hagia Sofia, Constantinople, Hungarian Occupation Zone

On the verge of the greatest meeting since Jesus met with his disciples on Passover, Ignac Nagy is delivered the final reports of the war efforts. He had recently dispatched Ilich to push the Ottomans back to Athens and gain as much local assistance as possible. This proved very useful, and the Greek people began fighting back against the Ottomans in their homeland. In fact, when Ilich arrived at Athens, the battle was all but won. Greek rebel forces had taken to the streets to fight off the remaining Ottoman forces, and the advancing Serbians placed the final nail in the Ottomans' coffin. In Africa, the Tripoli Company had forced the Governor of Libya to surrender, handing over all the lands of Libya. Only Tunisia was left. Lastly, in the Aegean, the Ottoman Caliph had finally been captured. Admiral Cseh took the entire Hungarian Fleet to Limnos to fight the Caliph, only to find he had a handful of sloops of wars and low rated ships. The naval battle was a pushover, and the Caliph was taken prisoner. Under orders from King Toth, the Caliph was to be deported to Mecca, to allow the Arabs to deal with him as they see fit. Now the Ottoman Empire no longer stands, and it is time to tear apart their lands.

On the Rout to Constantinople, Liberated Bulgaria

Hearing that the other leaders of some of the nations in the war were planning on attending the meeting, Toth decided he would as well. Recently, he had been swamped by letters, and was currently in the process of writing responses to each of them.

Recipients of this message: Regent Gugsa of Yejju of Ethiopia

Greetings Regent of Ethiopia,

Yes, you may attend the meeting in Constantinople if you desire. I myself have chosen to attend, as well. I cannot promise anything in response to Alexandria. That is land promised to the British, so I have no authority over it. If I had any jurisdiction in that department, I would allow a pseudo Coptic state to exist over the city.

Signed, King Toth of the Union of Hungary-Serbia

Recipients of this message: Foreign Minister Hugh Jackson and Military Governor of Egypt, Daniel Hawthorne

Greetings Governor of Egypt,

I am sorry, I cannot agree to these terms. I stand by the claims made for Hungary-Serbia and Russia, what we decide to do with Greece, Turkey and Tunisia is our choice. First, however, they need to lead by a steady hand to make sure they are rebuilt adequately. Also, Libya is apart of our African Colonial Plans, so we will not give them up either. Now, I must ask, will a representative be attending Constantinople?

Signed, King Toth of the Union of Hungary-Serbia

Recipients of this message: Prime Minister Alaro Kuhn | King Sigmund Graffen

Greetings great leaders of Germany,

It is true, although we have many differences, we share so much in common. Many of our people are yours, and vice versa. It is also true that much land went towards the English Bulldog. Sacrifices had to be made, to ensure the defeat of the Ottoman Menace. I believe an increase in trade and an alliance, would be in our nation's best interests. As long as you stand by us, we will stand by you. Brothers in arms, brothers in Europe.

Signed, King Toth of the Union of Hungary-Serbia

House Soltitude, Freetown, Free Liberian State
President Winston Dacquan had made considerable progress so far. With Saint Thomas in Sao Tome and the Principe been declared an official colony and offspring of the new plan to dig deep into Africa for resources, as well as colonies established in Ascension Island, designated as a global port for nations considered friendly powers. There had also been heralds of other islands and unmarked colonies established, most notably ones of a land called "St. Helena",

Fortunately, Winston wasn't stupid. He knew his goals for a successful free state wouldn't be as easy as just conquering West Africa and a few silly islands near it. He knew that he could get in trouble with empires for blocking up colonizable land, annoying them with constant requests of trade. After all, the Liberian State had no valuable resources on offer. Or so he thought...

Suddenly a messenger arrived with some raggedly-dressed people, probably workers. He grabbed some rolled-up paper and handed it to the President. "Sir, we've got good news! An expeditioner had just headed around the planned area of Liberia, and we have discovered several hotspots containing valuable resources!" He said, pulling out a map detailing sights of ores and valuables scattered all around the Liberian area.

President's Dacquan's eyes widened. The riches endowed onto the Liberian state would be en masse. With these scattered ore havens on his tracts of land, he could finally set up a merchant haven on West Africa. Though the land borders of Liberia would be hard to notice now, he quickly ushered the people out of his office, and began pulling out a sheet of paper, with a sailboat and three arrows pointing to coastal ports on what is now Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. He smiled knowingly as he layed down the piece of paper.

Things would finally go his way. Or would they?
Now set in an alternate world where GS didn't go to war with Junkyard America for a second time because we lost a war against Mekishima and now in the canon lore we're Mekishiman clay, so treat us how you may.

Kenyan-Ethiopia order war

The Regent ordered his armies to march into the lands of Kenya along the coast towards the important port of Mombasa, the Ethiopian army marching through villages planting Ethiopian flags telling the tribals that they are there to protect them from colonial powers and wishes them to keep their freedom. Of course a few tribes fought back but were largely cut down by the flintlocks they were armed with, once they arrived at the port they began their siege.

The port was being shelled by the cannons the Ethiopians brought, the Regent watched the cannonballs land in the houses and buildings. After several hours of bombardment he ordered 5,000 of his traditionally armed warriors and 10,000 of his flintlock armed soldiers into the city, after a week of fighting of both long, short, and melee combat the flag of Ethiopia rises over the city. He stations 3,000 traditionally armed and 5,000 flintlock armed in the city, he leaves the commander in charge to continue the conquest of Kenya.

Casualties of Ethiopia: around 1,000 traditionally armed killed 1,500 traditionally armed wounded, 500 flintlock armed killed 250 flintlock armed wounded, 100 cavalry killed/wounded.

Constantinople

The Coptic Bishop shifted nervously in his seat, being in the holy city of Constantinople. The city having been liberated by the armies of Hungary after the long fought war against the Ottomans by the Coalition, he prayed at the Hagia Sophia before he came to where the treaty was being made. He quickly gave his proposal for an hopes it will be recognized and added.

Image

1. The holy city of Constantinople is to be made a city exempt from military involvement from any wars of the present and the future.

2. The Hagia Sophia is to be open to all Christians and not limited to one branch of it.

3. The Pope of Alexandria is to either be granted freedom from a foreign government or be able to remain in Alexandria without worry of removal or harm.

RUSSIAN EMPIRE
RUSSIAN’S INTO COLONIES

Image

Russian Persia

The fleet of 15 ships were fully loaded with Marines had just left port heading for the Australian West Coast (Landing around Perth). The trip would take a month or so and as soon as they arrived they would plant the Russian flag and claim the land (Area around Perth) for the mighty Tzar.

Russian British Columbia

The Russian North American forces had taken control of the area and now turned their attention back North and had been claiming the lands that direction (Northern Alaska and Yukon Territory) for Russia.

Silk Road

Russian workers had been fixing up the route for months now and already goods had started flowing from China and into Russia where it was being sent into Europe bringing Russia much profit.

Canton, Great Qing

The Qing fleet, screened by a loose formation of light Junks and fireships (followed by a line of medium and heavy Junks), rushed forwards towards the sea, the current of the great Canton River and the wind at their backs. Their aggressive charge was suddenly interrupted, however - Japanese mortar fire and rockets, whilst not particularity accurate, proved a frightening sight above the heads of the light ships. The ship captains, slightly less sure of themselves, slowed their ships down, but were swiftly rallied by their admiral, who ordered them to adjust formation to account for enemy fire. Whilst advancing down the river (albeit at a now slightly slower pace) the ships at the head of the formation took on a looser formation, spearheaded now by a line of 10 light junks cutting across the water at an angle so as to partially expose their broadsides to the enemy. The medium and large junks began firing at the Japanese fleet with their crude (albeit effective) Chinese mortars, loaded up with basic fragmentation shot, in the hope of damaging unfurled Japanese sails and causing some unease atop their decks.

Damage taken: No ships lost, moderate structural damage on 2 Light Junks and 1 fire ship (slowing them down), 2 dead crewmen

Sino-Japanese War

Image

A fleet of 25 Unrated ships, 5 fourth Rates, and two 3rd Rates served as escorts for 40,000(7,000 were Samurai) men coming for the Taiwan campaign. Two groups of troops would be landing, the first contingent in North Taiwan to capture the city of T'ai-pei then moving southward. Projected Estimates predicted the campaign would be over by the time of the British Arrival where they will be stationed before further operations.

The Rated ships, along with 25 Unrated ships protected the area, meanwhile the troops landed and secured a beachhead, that being in the small Costal town of Audi. They then marched towards their objective. While their main objective was T'ai-pei, the city of Keelung, which they were several miles to the east.

The Naval forces then planned to to bombard the the city's Costal defenses as a preliminary attack. Meanwhile the Japanese forces, which would have landed and attacked the Forts of the city from the rear. Setting up seige guns, Mortars, and other artillery, they would open on the City's Forts from the land side of things as well. That's when they launched their attack, making a use between naval support, artillery on the land(with all the displine that entailed after European training and months of drilling) and the stone hard determination of the Japanese forces(who in this case were Marines, and underwent their own months of training as well.)

The city would be captured, and in short order to, the Japanese weren't here to play games. This was only the first batch of troops to arrive as well. The goal was to be quick and precise about all of it, and they had no time to waste.

The Battle of Canton, The Sino-Japanese War

The 30 Unrated Ships, (which while small for Japanese standards, were Medium Junks to standing to meet the Chinese hordes were unphased by the Barbarian mortars, which were massively inaccurate, and though some of the Unrated ships received light damage, it was not enough to deter combat effectiveness.

The Unrated ships put their own ships at an angle to be able to expose their broadsides enough to fire off, then change positions. The Unrated ships focused fire, sending off broadsides to the incoming ships. These were of two types, one was of the common Ammon round ball ammo, and the others that would detonate when the fuse was lit. Either way, the first ten ships were inbound for an unpleasant impact. They of course opened fire, unleashing their broadsides them turning to unleash another if they took it from multiple sides.

Meanwhile other ships of the line began forming up behind the Unrated ships, preparing their broadsides. For any survivors of the initial assault by the Unrated ships, hundreds of guns from the Ships-of-the-Line waited to tear them to pieces. If the first two broadsides from the Unrated ships were survived, which were meant to be done thoroughly from 30 ships. The Rated ships would finish the job permanently, and this was all going on very quickly mind you.

Canton, Great Qing

The first volley of unrated fire came rushing towards the small contingent of Junks spearheading the assault would largely miss due to their only slight exposure of broadside, but a good few enemy cannon balls found their mark. The explosive shells were the worst, and although the teak hulls of the war junks was of moderately hard wood, the Japanese attack did serious damage to those ships they hit, damaging the hulls of 6 light junks and hitting the magazine of one, immediately sinking it in a blaze of explosive glory. The ship captains remained undeterred, however, and performed their own turn after the enemy volley was over, letting loose a broadside of their own before turning around so as to have their backs directly to the enemy, allowing other light junks to rush in front of them. Meanwhile, the Chinese mortar fire had stopped the moment the unrated craft had fired, but as the Japanese ships unfurled their sails to catch the wind and turn for another broadside, a bright blue firework suddenly went off only slightly above one of the small junks decks, triggering a mass volley of mortar fire from the medium and large Junks. Although the Chinese mortars were indeed inaccurate, fired en masse they could afford a few misses, and as the shells exploded over the Japanese ships, synchronized, the air seemed full of red-hot shrapnel and whizzing lead balls, many of which would find their way into and through the enemy sails, shredding through the japanese fabric with ease and raining down hot metal upon the crewmen above deck in addition to what chinese cannon balls (too composed of a solid-shot explosive mix) hit true. The enemy rated ships own barrage came slamming into the retreating Chinese junks at about the same time, and whilst their now much smaller target was difficult to hit, the rated ships managed to damage an additional junk and sink one of the slower, already injured ones.

Damage taken: 2 ships lost, moderate structural damage on 6 Light Junks and 1 fire ship (slowing them down)

Taipei, Qing Taiwan

The Taipei garrison, like most standing armies in Qing's coastal regions, had been on high alert ever since the war began, and upon hearing of Japanese ships being sighted by fishermen not far off the coast of Audi, the garrison's commander, Lord Zheng, immediately called up his men and began marching along the road to meet the barbarians in combat. Although he already knew the region well, he elected to send out scouts for a swift re evaluation of nearby terrain and, more importantly, a glimpse of the Japanese as they began to offload in Audi, whose citizens had likely fled already. Although Zheng was confident that the Japanese were going to head for Keelung, a large port close to Audi and vital in the defense of Taiwan's waters, he made sure to send the 8th Tiger Battalion to defend the valley road leading from the north coast to Taipei. The 8th Tiger, though not as experienced or well armed as the Bannermen and Han regiments marching to Keelung, was experienced in fighting on difficult terrain, and, being composed entirely of natives, frothing at the mouth to defend their homeland and earn a litany of privileges and rights promised to them by the Governor should they perform well on the battlefield.

40,000 troops marching along the Keelung river to garrison Keelung itself, 1,000 taking up defensive positions in the hills separating Taipei from the north coast

The Lord Above's Royal Empire of Britannia

In the Service of God, the Nation, and the British People

British 1st Exoeditionary Force, off coast of South Africa

The moderately large force of British soldiers and sailors had made bad headway in the past three months. Off the coasto of Iberia, they had repeatedly run into a few small, but troublesome storms, greatly slowing the fleet. But finally, after passing the Ivory Coast, the fleet made it into calm waters and a strong eater not wind, which thrust the ships forward. In another projected three months, the Brtish fleet would arrive in Hong Kong, China, where the first engagement of British forces in China would take place.

"Glowes" Charter

An expedition was launched from Canberra by Sir John Glowes with the intention of claiming Sir Lanka. The fleet consists of three Indiamen trading ships and 300 colonists with an outfit of 100 of the 1st Canberra. These settlers would take three months to reach Sri Lanka, where they were expected to settle the southern coast.

Message from the Foreign Ministry of the Empire of Britannia

Recipient of this Message: Republic of India

As you know, the 1st Imperial Coalition has recently decided to engage in a war with the Qing Dynasty. As a member of this coalition, you are obligated to send troops and supplies to help Japan in this war effort against the barbaric Qing. But do not fear, India will gain from this. Manpower is expected to be supporting Japan within the month. Failure to comply will result in the expulsion of India from the Coalition.

Signed,

General George Scott

Very well, a representative will attend the meeting in Constantinople. But I must ask that an open mind be kept on these negotiations. A Free Turkey is needed to control the external and internal politics of the Middle East! A failure to do that will lead to an uprising of the Arab horde, and the downfall of Christianity in the holy land.

I also recognize that if this deal I'd placed exactly how you wish it to be, yourself and Russia will gain the most territorially. Britain believes that a majority of Iraq and Syria should be given to Arabia, as Arabia will have an easier time controlling them than Russia. Greece should also be free to act on its own accord. It seems as if your nation and Russia, are creating their own Ottoman Empire that oppresses the masses of Turkey. Britain will grant you power over Tunisia, but Libya is unacceptable. Libya should be a free state, a democratic state decided by the people of Alba, not one of a foreign power.

The Empire will meet you in Constantinople to further discuss these terms.

Signed,

Foreign Minister Hugh Jackson

Governor General Daniel Hawthorne

ARABIAN CALIPHATE

We have worked many years on destroying the Ottoman Caliphate, and on this fine day of 18th March 1811, we have received the Ottoman Caliph! The impersonator, the oppressor of Arab tribes, or at least, their son. In Mecca, we decided to lynch him, in front of 127.000 people, going to Mecca to see their former master. They laughed, but the Turk was silent. The Caliph began laughing, but he was still silent. He decided, for the sake of his silence, he will be rewarded by a quick death. So he ordered to have the Ottoman Caliph shot twice by the Caliph's soldiers. The Ottoman Caliphate is now dead.

The killing of the Ottoman Caliph strengthened Arabian legitimacy. The Arabian Caliphate was now at peace and the true caliphate of Islam. The Fifth Caliphate, the Tulunid Caliphate, has been established. On the 20th March 1811, Muhammed IV Tulunid was crowned the Caliph of all the Sunni Muslims. A new golden age is dawning on Arabia.

Now Arabia was at peace, it could dedicate itself to internal development. By April 1811, Mecca's population has grown to 23,000, and the largest city of Arabia became Damascus with 50,000 people. Arabian scientists are beginning to uncover the secrets of electrical energy, the famous Arabian scientist al-Rashid discovering the electrical generator by utilizing magnetism.

The Palestine Rebellion was a great crisis for the Arabian Caliphate, and it was decided by the Royal Arabian Council of Advisors that the rebellion will be supported, although secretively, economically, bringing them supplies, weapons and training. The first supplies were delivered by 1st April (haha) of 1811.

Although most Arabians knew that a war with the British would be a loss, the most experienced Arabian general Mahmood Rasul stated that with modern artillery and luck, he could overwhelm and defeat British Egypt with 2 months. In response, Caliph Muhammad IV stated the decree:

To: Egyptian Revolutionaries
From: Caliph Muhammad IV of Arabia
Date: 4th of April, 1811

Brothers! Sisters! Are you willing to fight against the Western imperialists? Those British men are not good men. The United Kingdom, your untrustful occupators, are only willing to suck Egypt dry of it's resources! Those people have no right to own your land. One of the greatest ancient civilizations in the world is now regarded as a colony! Do you WISH to be regarded as that? Do you WISH that your proud people be regarded as "uncivilized Africans"? If not so, then you can change the situation. Join your revolutionaries and free Egypt from the tyranny of the UK. We will give everything you desire, weapons, ammunition, food and water! The Caliph is supporting you!

God is great!
Sincerely, Caliph Muhammad IV of Arabia

ARABIAN DIPLOMATIC SERVICE

To: Regent Yejju of Ethiopia
From: al-Hasan, diplomatic advisor of Arabia

We had a fruitful friendship between our two nations, so why not extend it even further? We can declare ourselves an official alliance between our empires that will work together towards defeating Great Britain. We could have joint military exercises and regular visits to your nation. If you wish to accept, which I hope you do, you can choose the name of the alliance.

When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion

Kenya

The conquest of Kenya after the battle of Mombasa was that of swift and easy conquests, subjugation, and simple peaceful integration. After the fall of Mombasa the other small tribes of Kenya became more compliant to Ethiopian rule, after the long and hard fought battles the territory of Kenya was fully under control of the Ethiopian crown. 5,000 flintlock armed and 2,500 traditionally armed warriors were left behind to defend territory, as well as the 50 cannons for artillery support. A new Duke of Kenya was crowned after the tribes voted on which one of the chiefs would be best suited, the Duke swore fealty to the Emperor thus becoming a vassal state.

Image

To: Al-Hasan, diplomatic advisor of Arabia

We hereby accept that we extend our alliance further, together we shall unite and bring the British down to their knees. After thinking long and hard on the name for our great and unique alliance, I have decided to name it after the very thing that we both have control over, that unites us together as one, the Red Sea. So we shall therefore name the alliance the League of the Red Sea! The British may be the lion, but when spider webs unite, even they can tie up a lion.

RUSSIAN EMPIRE

Perth, Australia

The fleet had arrived a week ago and so far a small settlement had been made. Contact with the natives, who appeared to share the same skin color with Africans, had been limited with only a few spotted in the distance watching. Plans were already made for a few civilian shops to make their way to the new land bringing with them a few hundred settlers. In the meantime the soldiers there would start building up a small town.

Russian North America (Alaska, BC, Yukon)

Settlers had started coming to the new world and forming small settlements. Soon the military was planning to head South into even more unknown lands. (Washington state)

Russia

Modernization and industrialization efforts were being pushed hard by the Tzar. Businesses were encouraged to adopt Western manufacturing practices and the military had started a campaign to reorganize similar to Western European counterparts. To aid in this a letter was sent to the Germans who were known for their superb organization.

To: German Emperor
From: Tzar Alexander

My friend,

Germany and Russia have had good relations for many years and we share common rivals. With this in mind I am asking you to send several military advisors to Russia in order to assist us in reorganizing our forces to better match our enemies.

Sincerely,

Tzar Alexander

Móng Cái, Việt Nam

The German ships, all proud, dark wood, great square sails and rows upon rows of cannon, looked quite alien in the small port of Móng Cái, a city which looked about the same as it has a thousand years ago. The border town was small but prosperous, a city of decent size and great wealth, founded to exploit the great trade routes with China and still a major stop for Chinese and Vietnamese merchants alike. Today, however, the market was empty, the streets still - near everyone was either hiding in their homes or crowded at the edges of the great port and stone paved road leading from it directly east, to China itself. Keeping the masses in check was a full company of Manchu troops, the Striking Dragon Company (Or Niru) of the renowned Bordered Yellow Banner, the best troops the Great Qing had to offer. A group of some 800 men, Striking Dragon Company had seen extensive action during the civil war, and were oft credited with a string of victories against the Han forces, pushing back and breaking armies over ten times their size. Armed with the best muskets, gunpowder and armor the Great Qing had to offer, Striking Dragon Company was famous for it's unorthodox and dishonorable tactics and it's flexibility - an odd trait among the bannermen. Along with a contingent of Green Standard troops (to manhandle the equipment onto waiting carts), the Manchu forces presented themselves in neat, orderly ranks along the great stone road and the edge of the port. When the German military advisers finally disembarked, they were greeted by the company's commander, Captain Zhu Dashou and his own staff, who, after giving the Germans bows that befit their presumed ranks, escorted them between the Manchu infantrymen whilst the citizens of Móng Cái jostled and pushed to get a good view of the foreign lords. Immediately after the German officers were lead into the silk enclosed official litter, the Han troops got to work, aiding the German crewmen in transferring the great cannons and bulky crates of firearms from the ships onto the carts waiting close by. If all went well, the equipment would be in Canton by weeks end.

Malabo, Thomas Jefferson Island, Equatorial Guinea
It was a regular day in the island. A few natives went out to gather fruit, some children were playing, and animals scavenged on left out food. One of the elders of a nearby tribe sighted a large ship, carrying some soldiers with large sticks, men with papers and quills, and an elegant-looking captain.

The large ship landed on the coast. With it carried men who almost looked exactly like them, except dressed more elegantly, much like the Iberians that passed here before. It turns out the ship was a large carrack, carrying soldiers, families, scientists and prisoners. Then stepped no other than the man himself; George Carter, Commander of the Fleets and Waves. The tribe watched on as George pulled out a flagpole, with a lowered Liberian flag. the Liberians saluted, holding thier heads up high as the flag was raised and George Carter stood infront of it.
"It is my honorable duty, as the Commander of the Fleets and Waves, and as the Head of the Colonization Agency, to welcome each and every one of you as the pioneers and first settlers of the new Liberian colony of Thomas Jefferson Island, in the proposed states of Equatorial Guinea and Cameron's Land (Cameroon). For you, the beloved patriots and descendants of those who were enslaved long ago, we present you the vast and free land you have all desired, all in the beloved fruits of Western society. Natives, if you are here, if you can understand our ways of thinking and speech, please, do not fear us. We are just like you, fellow Africans who were taken from our precious land long ago. God bless you all, and god bless Liberia."
The crowd cheered and clapped, celebrating the powerful speech.
Present Day
House Soltitude, Freetown, Free Liberian State
A messenger had returned into the office to give Winston Dacquan the usual; letters from Georgie, as he nicknamed George Carter.

Dear Mr. Dacquan,
We have successfully colonized the proposed mainlands of Africa, at last. So far, we are having a blast with the resources being discovered in this new land, and finally taking a breather to colonize the inland with yield resources at the quantities we would never have gotten if it weren't for the ideas we share with the Americans on manifesting our destiny like they are. It's these ideas that will make Liberia prosper like no other African nation. Our will, our democracy, our Westernization. These are key ideals we must keep in order to thrive.

The Liberian Free State will prosper

Signed, George Carter.

Naval Battle at Canton

Chinese Mortars and Broadsides indeed taken some effect, despite Japanese ships being spread out enough that concentrated attacks wouldn't reap the most results, and the fact Chinese mortars were still inferior to that of Japanese ones. The Broadsides reaped results, however they were still more heavily armored than their Chinese counterparts. It was not a huge surprise that the Japanese decided to throw it back at then, when the Chinese ships turned firing of Canister shot which would rain down on enemy crew, their own explosive shots from their mortars over the Chinese ships as well.

Unrated ships were ordered to not turn to make use of one broadside, and keep their sails from being in danger. Meanwhile the Rated ships would serve as a second broadside when the Chinese ships turned, firing shells, Heated shots, Canister, and regular shots. Spider shot was also used against the smaller ships. Meanwhile when they were that close, they also made use of the missiles as well.

The Heated Shot was in particular dangerous as it's intentions was to set enemy ships on fire, and hopefully exploding their magazines. This shot in particular was something the Japanese got from Europe, and the Chinese couldn't replicate either, it being fired with extreme caution.
OOC: 3 unrated ships lightly damaged, 4 with light to moderate sail damage, 15 Sailors Wounded, 3 killed.
Taiwan Campaign

Sending scouts to check out the terrain before the Army was deployed, and to see enemy positions, they learned a huge force was coming to Keelung. So, instead of marching on Keelung, the Japanese commanders made different plans. They would draw the Chinese into a battle. The landscape was hilly, which was great for the Japanese as this sort of landscape was very similar to that of the landscape of home, and the environment they know how to fight in.

Three miles from Keelung the Japanese set themselves up on a hilly area, making some minor defenses. Meanwhile the scouts made well more observations of their area, and multiple checkpoints. Why the checkpoints? They were well strategic hills and areas the advance party could hold onto if they needed to while they were drawing the Chinse to their positions.

5,000 troops with lots of scout help were being sent nearby Keelung, to draw the Chinese towards the main battlefield. These troops were of the Imperial Guard, armed with British muskets, with four rounds fired per minute. These men were special, and it was their task to draw the Chinese troops to the main Japanese hold out. Meanwhile the Scouts with them would inform them of where primary Chinese troop movement was so they could take account for it.

With that, they would be able to stay in contact with the main force about Chinese positions, and possibly come in if things go awry with the Japanese plan. The Imperial Guard could undoubtedly hold of the Chinese hordes until the remainder of the forces arrived. With multiple areas they could fall back to, it would be an interesting situation.

The Italian-Moroccan War
The invasion and capture of Morocco took way longer than expected but the war was finally over and the Italian flag flew over the capital. The army now had 136, 000 troops stationed in the country and ships left the homeland for the Moroccan coast with supplies to rebuild cities and forts, build new colonies, and set up the new government. Back home the government was busy attempting to build relations with the neighboring nations. Letters promoting peace, prosperity, and economic opportunites were sent to Britannia, Hungary-Sebia, Germany, France, Iberia, and Poland-Lithuania.

The golden age of Italy is approaching.

Japanese Naval Production

Image

First off Imperial Naval Production has been completed, 3 third Rates, 5 fifth Rates, and 20 Unrated has been completed. They've been put into service, and put into duty in the nameof the Empire. Right now, no Rated ships are to be put under construction, just Unrated ones to fill out the ranks of the Imperial Navy against the Chinese Navy.

Meanwhile the Naval Shipyards that had undergone improvements have been completed, with a total of 5 major Shipyards under the Imperial Navy's jurisdiction, with minor Shipyards all over the country. The yards would have been considered impressive by European Standards, and Godly by Asian standards.

Regardless 40 Unrated ships were now under order for the Imperial Navy. This would be handled by all Imperial Shipyards, major and small. It's expected it could be between two to four years that this will be completely carried out, various amounts of ships being out and deployed before others. Regardless this was the current order.

Letters to Foreign Diplomats

Imperial Diplomacy

To the Government of the Empire of Iberia

The Imperial Government of Japan is asking to be lent Naval Help from your Naval Forces to help enforce the Japanese Blockade of China. Any help would be fine, however we are simply looking for help from your ships, as we need numbers Naval Wise. If you wish to send your Rated shipping, that is well, however we are not too picky in the ships you send, if you decide to send any ships to aid our cause.

To the Government of the Empire of Chochin
In light of your recent declaration of war against the Chinese oppressor, we'd like to offer you weapons to help arm your forces, to offer troop transports, and to offer officers to help train your forces. This war will obviously be carried out in various ways, but the Empire of Japan believes it would be appropriate to have a certain amount of rhythm in our forces.

Affairs of Japan

In the East Indies, the Japanese traders had continued success in their quest, trading various goods with the Kingdom's there and making plans to expand their trade. Their trading outpost (Jakarta) also continued its growth. It was stable enough to keep itself afloat, and able to trade with various peoples throughout the Indies, and became a sort of hub for Japanese Merchants in the area. Of course it needed further Growth to reach its full potential.

Meanwhile the Japanese began making after war plans on how they could further their interests in the area, increasing their political influence and setting up Satilite states. It would begin the process of Japanese Dominance in the area.

However violence might have to be applied at times, and when it comes the spreading of Japanese Territory in the area, it couldn't all be at once. No, it'd be a process. One that leads to the same place, and perhaps a bit longer, but it was better to ease the various kingdoms into their subjugation to the Japanese Empire. Wouldn't that be better for everyone? Why surely so!

Part:2
"Mobilization"

Image

Since the war on china was declared, mobilization had started.Soldiers were being enlisted and moved to the north-eastern border. The Indian force was now sized roughly 350.000, Most of the new soldiers being in the Land army. They had received basic training on those last months, so that they would be more than simple cannon fodder. The Bengali government allowing the troops to pass woudn't be a problem-Many of the indian states were basically under Cochin control. The maharajah even planned on officially annexating them in the future-But for now, that didn't matter.

Coalition Cooperation

Image

The Empire had begun to ship supplies to its ally, the Cochin Empire, and sending Transport ships to help make their deployment of troops easier. The Japanese also sent officers to help train the Armies of the Coachin. Meanwhile the Japanese also began training the Coachin Navy with what it had.

This was all to help the nation in its deployment against the Chinese in all ways it could. It would not be simple, but this ally to the war effort would provide more assistance, and manpower that would be very welcomed. Japan was strong, but it lacked the man power it needed in such a case.

Regardless the war was looking increasingly in favor of the Coalition, however the Japanese never doubted victory. It was not a matter of want, it was a matter of will and destiny. The Chinese could not be allowed to stay on their little throne, whatever they have to say about it be damned. To Japan, this was the first step in her Glory, and her allies Glory.

NATIONAL EVENTS

Great Britain

Colonial life in Australia is going fine. The former Penal Colony is growing at a decent rate, however there's a problem within its borders. Emus! You heard me right, bloody Emus! They're making life an increasing hell for the people living here, and are threatening to drive colonial life to a halt for Colonial Farmers? What are we to do?

The Republic of Germany

Sir, we have an intriguing situation going on. It appears parts of Western Germany are undergoing a Protestant Transformation, this all stemming from a Protestant preacher named Hans Weiss. He promotes German Exceptionalism through the Bible interestingly enough, advocating for a more Protestant society. Here's the kicker. He's promoting the spread of the German Ideal. Or as he cites, Love, Compassion, Hard Work, Ingenuity, and Democracy. Freedom too. Now, one wonders if we could use this man to our advantage, or just leave him be.

The United States of America

Sir, it is to my understanding that we are a free nation. A free nation can not be subjected to that of the will of others. Therefore I believe it is paramount we follow the course of the British, and we should pay particular interest in our factories. We could become a major player when it comes to Textiles, just look at the South. It's growing more and more cotton, we could use this to our benefit in the construction of Industry and growing exportation of Textiles. There's a man who's willing to kickstart such a program. Jonathan Woodrow, a Entrepreneur who is starting up multiple of these mills. If we support him, imagine the future we could bring for American economics. For tall parts of the country.

Mexico

Sir, there's been an incident in the USCA, there's been a coup in the country overthrowing their Pro-Mexican government in exchange for a now proclaimed “Democratic Republic of Central America” who's now gone on a bloody tangent. The country is no longer safe for Mexican citizens, should we intervene?

Empire of Iberia
Sir, the efforts to squash resistance to our rightful government over the past few months have been few. I have to say that this is looking quite grim, parts of the Navy and Army have deserted and fled to those traitors in the Americas, and the people are not happy about this war as it’s proving to bear no fruit. Either we make major gains soon, or we’ll be forced to give up our pursuit to end their Rebellions.

Russia.

Sir, I have to wonder. Are we doing enough for our social programs in the Empire? I’d think not, we should install programs for the people. First thereof being Educational in value, setting up Major Universities in our Persian Provinces to instill the need of rightful Russian Education. Then we must discover ways to unify the nation. The best way of doing so would be language. There’s much diversity in the Empire, and if we are to do that, Russian must be the great equalizer that can lead to a fully educated democracy. Just my personal suggestions sir.

Poland-Lithuania
Sir, one has to wonder how long we will stand idly by as the European powers have done away with the great ottoman threat. But what about their souls, yes their souls! The souls of the newly conquered peoples, have they done anything to bring the true faith to those horribly mislead peoples? No! We must bring our missionaries to those territories and bring Christianity to them! It is our God Given duty, for we have beaten down their swords, now it is our duty to save them from damnation!

Empire of Coachin

Sir, our forces have readied themselves, and our allies have brought the weapons we need. Now, the more success we have on the field, the more popular we will become with the masses and the more we can recruit men. Depending on that, we could draft up millions with the appropriate amount of weapons of course, however failure………well, failure is not an option.

Ethiopia

Sir, here’s something interesting. Apparently the Europeans have acquired a taste for Coffee. It has proven to be an interesting substitute for Europeans, and while more bitter, it keeps people more energetic. Something similar to America, people have aqired a taste for Coffee. Perhaps we can supply such a new trend………….

House Soltitude, Freetown, Free Liberian State
Winston Dacquan walked back into his quiet, small office with a cup of hot chocolate in his hand. Here he looked over some pieces of paper that were left by his assistants, most of them being maps sent by explorers, none of them consistent. He went over a few and finally got a letter that caught his eye:
Dear Mr. Dacquan:
The Liberian state is prospering more than ever under your rule.
We have successfuly conquered Equatorial Guinea and Gabon and are undergoing processes riling up the public to spread north, west, and east. We have also expanded into the supposed 'gold haven' of Nigeria and are figuring on expanding into Guinea as well.

However, as two things have been discussed before, there are other empires roaming West Africa: the British in Ivory Coast, and the Iberians in Angola and Guinea-Bassau.

the British are our most prioritized threat, for they have claims on Cote d'Ivoire, which stands in our way between the Liberian mainland and the Eastern colonies. This means that if we attempt to link our way to the East to unite Liberia with its' colonies, obviously this will tip off British sovereignty and they might go to war.

I have sent a draft for the letter that is going to be implying towards the British on what to do with this land. I will leave it to you to review and sign it.

Sincerely, George Carter, Commander of the Fleets and Waves.

Winston Dacuqan immediately moved the piece of paper over with a puzzled and concerned look on his face, and picked the template letter encased in an envelope.

Your Majesty,

We are the Liberian Free State, who wish to contact you on regards to your territorial claims on West Africa. This concerns us greatly and we would like to arrange a treaty that divides this territory between your southern British lands, and our northern Liberian lands.
This is an undoubtedly grand issue, as your sovereignty over the entire Ivory Coast is damaging our interests. If you do not respond or decline arranging any changes, this will soon turn from a request to an ultimatum, which you will have 10 days to respond to or else we will declare war.

Sincerely, _________

Winston Dacquan looked at the paper for a moment. At first he thought it was utter insanity, attacking the British Empire over the Ivory Coast. He knew his military could not support winning a war against the British alone. That's when he thought up of a risky idea; an alliance with Iberia against the British Empire. He grabbed his quill, and admitted to a piece of paper...

Dear blessed Empress and Emperor of Iberia,

We are the Free Liberian State. We have been here for quite some time, but you'd know our names by some merchants and missionaries that were sent over in our seas to buy out our resources, mined from our colonies near Equatorial Guinea.

I ask you for a military alliance against the British, for we seek for a treaty to reunite our land with our Eastern colonies; to divide Cote D'Ivoire, which the British govern, between the north and south. In return, we will secure you rights and claims on Senegal, the Gambia and the Congo.

Sincerely, Winston Dacuqan.
Now set in an alternate world where GS didn't go to war with Junkyard America for a second time because we lost a war against Mekishima and now in the canon lore we're Mekishiman clay, so treat us how you may.

Sino-Japanese War Report

In the beginning of the war, the Japanese and Chinese Navies clashed, leading to total Japanese domination of the seas. The first being the Naval victory at Canton which soon lead to the capture of the city and the surrounding area by Japanese forces. Meanwhile, the Navy continued it's campaign against it's Chinese counterpart until it was wiped out. This lead total Japanese control of the seas, and allowing it to deploy troops whenever, and wherever it pleased.

This leads to multiple events. Fist the Japanese Invasion of Taiwan and Hainan. Both the islands falling after 6 month campaigns a piece. The City of Shanghai was also captured by Japanese forces, using it as a bargaining piece for later, fortifying there. Finally, the Japanese Advancement along the Grand Canal. Capturing forts and other important areas along the way. The goal in this was to paralyze the Caoyun system. In doing this, China could not distribute grain throughout it's Empire. This eventually lead to the Japanese threatening siege and capture on Nanking.

With this in mine, if the capture of Nanking is secured the food supply to the Capital would be cut off, starving the people inside. The war has resulted in thousands of Chinese Conscripts dying in vain, while the Chinese Navy felt the full force of pains of defeat. The Qing Goverment would not hold out against Japanese advances forever, and their allies only made their situation worse..........

Kyoto, Japan

The mood of the people was ecstatic, the war had obviously been in their favor. People gathered in the streets, bells rang, the war wasn't even over yet but people treated it as such. Report after Report came of Japanese victory in China, and the people took it as an omen of the support of the heavens on their cause. How the evil Qing could not have their way.

Sakura Trees bloomed in the capital city, the Imperial banner flying proudly above the Imperial Palace. The songs of the flying creatures of the world saturated the air, as if saying "Take in our voices, let them glide through the air, let them move you with their beauty." While birds couldn't talk, who's to say they wouldn't have said such things? We don't know to be exact, however we can pretend. It's much funner that way, wouldn't you say?

The men of the Imperial Government worked throughout the city, in their various offices. Wether it was on behalf of the Empress, the treasury, the Military, they all fulfilled their roles to the best of their abilities. Or so they thought. Regardless war plans had gone, well..........according to plan, and after war plans, and plans for the peace were being made.

After said peace, plans to consolidate any new Japanese bargaining power over the Chinese, and the full reassurance of the Japanese Imperial Might. Chinese tributes would become Japanese ones, and Korea would find itself apart of that Empire sooner or later. The Opium Trade would find itself legal, or at least unhindered, bringing in cash. Meanwhile the Japanese intended to take possesion of Canton, Taiwan, Hainan, and Shanghai as a...........lesson.

ARABIAN CALIPHATE

The Arabian Caliphate was prospering. The good relations with the Ethiopians secured their position in the Middle East and with Ethiopia, they dominated the Red and Arabian Sea trade. On the influence of the West and Ethiopia, the Arabians built their first artillery piece in history. It was a short 6 pounder, intended to be used to support Arabian infantry. The Caliph ordered 200 of these to be built by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, the opium plantations in Yemen and Oman were growing and by the end of this year, the production of it should be in its highest levels, thanks to a improving Arabian workforce. Major cities such as Damascus, Aleppo and Latakia were being rebuilt.

To: British King
From: Caliph of the Arabians Muhammed IV

These revolters are revolting against your government because they are willing to reinstate with Arabia instead of your imperialist empire. No, I'm not scared of you, because my empire can crush your pathetic colonies of Egypt, Lebanon and Palestine in less than 3 months. I strongly advise you getting off Egypt and bringing back the Egyptian Sultan, or you face my and possibly Ethiopian intervention.

Signed, Caliph of Arabia

To: Regent Gugsa of Ethiopia
From: al-Hasan, diplomatic advisor of Arabia

This will be short letter, but we would probably need to prepare for war, in order to get rid of the plague in this land, that is the British. While you are free to refuse at any time, we need to get over the war quickly, because they will just grow stronger. And their war with China will help somewhat. Japan will be no nuisance, as they can't do anything.
A big, 1.8 M blob filled with joy and enthusiasm, with a small dash of ingenuity combined with a youthful, healthy dose of idealism.

Ethiopian Empire
Image

The King was interested with the advisers information, the Europeans were growing their want for the taste of coffee and with the annexation of the lands of Kenya more land was capable of being farmed. The Ethiopian Coffee Company was free to expand as much as they would like into Kenya after its annexation, they bought land from the local populace and transformed some of their (quite inefficient) coffee, tea, and other crop fields into full fledged farms. People were hired to work on these farms as well as the law making unemployed and the military work on the farms to support them as well. The King as well was happy with the expansion with the port in Djibouti it growing at a good pace with the peace and general complete control over the Red Sea, it was growing and becoming one of the important ports in the region.

Meanwhile with the Regent

The Regent got the message from the Arabian Caliph, he was surprised with the motion and speed they were moving against the British. The British being as large as they are are extremely overextended and only extending themselves more with taking Egypt. British Somaliland would not be that high on the need to defend, it is generally useless as well as the more important land southward in Madagascar. To begin he ordered the movement of 35,000 flintlock armed soldiers, 85,000 traditionally armed soldiers, 10,000 cavalry, as well as pulling 30 cannons from Kenya back into Ethiopia to act as support. He immediately began writing two letters in the hopes that they will make a difference in the war that can possibly come.

To: Al-Hasan, diplomatic adviser of Arabia
From: Regent Gugsa of Yeijju of Ethiopia

We understand, we will prepare our armies and navies to make the British pay in blood if anything happens. I also wish to suggest that the use of "privateers"
be used to support our fleets against the British, due to their sheer size and more expertly made ships. But of course we shall prepare, may our battles bring us victories and that God will guide both our hands to a greater future.

To: Poland-Lithuania
From: Regent Gugsa of Yeijju of Ethiopia

We wish to inform you with a possibility of an outbreak of war, we hope that if war does come that you come in and support us. Our nations have been friendly ever since you supported us in our conquest of centralization and do hope that you will once again come in and support our nation against its enemies from the outside. We await your response and do hope that in God's light, that you choose what needs to be chosen.
