Just after dawn Jarn awoke from the short catnap he had stolen once the rays of light of the approaching sun had made stargazing impossible; he felt energized and ready to tackle a new day, but there was a curious noise that broke his reverie. Bleating, lowing... they were sounds that were half familiar, but which he could not readily place. Swinging down out of the branches of the grove in which he had made his bed, the warrior landed lightly, and dropped into a crouch, creeping towards the unfamiliar noises.
It was fortune that favored the people of Eden, certainly. The creatures which revealed themselves before his gaze had shaggy hair-coats, likely good for weaving or as simple clothing, and seemed docile enough at his approach. They had no fear of man, not yet, though they seemed wary enough of him to walk away if he tried to get too close.
Meat on the hoof. Jarn unslung his spear, and set to work. He wasn't much of a hunter, but that could change with practice, and these were a fine game to pursue.

Biscaria wrote:After eating her fruit, and resting for a bit, Iola looked up at the sky and saw that the sun was in a different position than it was before. She got up and looked at her citrus supply, noticing that some parts of them were already browning. Suddenly, a brilliant idea popped into her head. I know what I'll do! I'll start a fire and roast some of these fruits! They'll keep longer and still taste good right? She looked over at the Vipera. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" she said to the sculpture. Not expecting a response, Iola then set out to gather some wood for her makeshift fire.
Once she gathered a number of twigs and a couple small branches from around the grove, she put them into pile. "Now I think I know what to do," she said to Vipera."You've got to get a wood pile, and then twist around a stick real fast until it catches fire. Simple."
Iola then carried out her fire-making plan; however, her hands were not strong enough (with nary a callus), and she did not spin the stick hard enough. So, at the end of the day and after hours trying, Iola gave up and plopped down on the ground. "Oh well," she said aloud. "At least I've got the wood though."
As the sun began to go down, Iola decided to rest for the day. She chose a comfortable-enough (though still lacking) and secluded position on some grass and in a few minutes fell asleep. After all, it had been a day of adjustment and Iola still had quite a bit of adjustment to go.
Afternoon Action: Gather 1 wood, attempt (unsuccessfully) to make a fire.
Night Action: Rest/Sleep

It was bright and sunny – much like Eden on arrival, but not depopulated – and she could see gardens and a boat-sprinkled sparkling blue sea in the distance. Yet, she was definitely in a building of some sort - on a portico with only columns and a railing separating her from the view. And she herself, or at least someone she thought as herself, was sitting on a comfortable recliner in pristine finery. Before her was a table holding a bowl of fresh fruit and two glasses of a dark elixir – wine. Beyond that, was a pretty girl with long, blond hair and another fine dress, whom she found herself addressing as “Lila.” For interaction, Iola was drinking wine, eating fruit, and jovially talking to the girl across from her, about some trivial things that did not come through. Suddenly, the figure of an authoritative and older woman with a resemblance to Iola herself – someone she recognized as “Mother” - disturbed the chatter: there was a “seeker” here for her.
Suddenly, Mother disappeared and a new figure joined Iola and Lila. He was tall and thickly built, with tannish skin and thick dark hair. Iola could not figure out many more specifics, but it seemed that a spotlight had focused on the man with Lila fading into the background. He said, “Do not worry, I mean no harm. This is a good day for you; you have won the selection... you were chosen by the liege...” His words seemed to fade as she focused on his features. His clothes, accentuated by muscles. His face, with hints of stubble. His brooding eyes. And his voice, loud and bellowing. Yet, despite supposed inattention to his words, Iola was elated with the news the man had told and and briefly celebrated the proclamation with Lila. After that, she joined the man, and waved a goodbye to her mother and her friend. As she left through a door, the bright sunniness of the outside world enveloped her...
