House Lefford participated on behalf of their overlords the Lannisters. From their ancestral domains on the Golden Tooth, they marched in the Lannister Host on Riverrun. Afterwards, the Leffords sat in the Golden Tooth, guarding the entry to the Westerlands from the untrustworthy Tully scum. The Leffords are immensely wealthy house, sitting on the massive gold mines of the Golden Tooth. They also control the major transit artery between the Westerlands and Riverlands. The Loyal Leffords also joined the Lionhearted Lannisters in their subjugation of the vile Greyjoy vipers and their illegal criminal rebellion. Leo and Leopold took part in the Grand Siege of Pyke, bravely exterminating many of the Ironborn filth. After the war, they returned to their estates which had been managed by Alysanne. The following decades saw massive economic growth in Golden Tooth. Leo Lefford was a noted a logistician and kept his territory well stocked and supplied and up-to-date. Leopold, the heir apparent and face of Golden Tooth, commands the Leopard Knights, a group of 50 knights of the Golden Tooth. Leonid Lefford, the second son, serves on Tywin Guard. His own personal wealth is immense, as he is a shrewd investor. And a scary loanshark. The Golden Tooth has prospered in the past decade, and the Leffords with it.

• 289 AC: The Greyjoy Rebellion strikes, and Arthur leads the Crownlander charge at Pyke. With Dawn in his hands, he would become inspire many around him and strike fear into many Ironborn seeing the pale blade.
• 294 AC: Arthur asks his friend, Rhaegar to take his nephew Edric Dayne as a squire. Rhaegar accepts, and Edric comes to King's Landing. Arthur helps teach Edric how to wield a blade.
• 298 AC: Arthur travels with Rhaegar to the Wall.

Well, most of it really is up to your discretion.

Aside from what's outlined in the OP, that they were given hostages (Lysa Tully at the end of Robert's Rebellion) and participated in the Greyjoy Rebellion and received compensation and hostages for that (Primarily Theon Greyjoy), I suppose its just been court-drama with Mace as Master of Coin.
