I'll drop in some images of the ship as and when I make them. Most of them are WIP, but they give a good idea of what to expect.

When we're writing an IC post, about how much leeway do we have in describing the factions that haven't been fleshed out yet?

If it's going to be something quite extreme or system-changing, then I'd appreciate discussing it first here, if it's fairly mundane, then just go for it. Just bear in mind that Kasei and UTF are the big players in the system and the outer system worlds are all relatively minor.

Not great. Pretty much what you'd expect from a nation with early 21st century technology that just happened to have access to powerful fusion drives.

For what its worth, I'm pretty knowledgeable about this stuff, I can help out from the science aspects if needed.

Please.

For those who do it, please know that it hinders the ability for the rest of us to do anything. Which drags down the quality of the RP as a whole.

Sorry guys, had a short-notice work trip away, I'm back now.

I agree with the one-line posts, please don't. It leaves nothing for other people to respond to, it lacks creative flair and imagination, and it comes across as lazy and apathetic to the roleplay you've committed to.

Also, yes, I'll say this in the IC thread too, the scene at the moment isn't on the Saxifrage, the Saxifrage is docked, the doors sealed unless you have access codes. The meeting is in a room where the ship is visible through a window, but that's it. Neglecting to glean this minor but important detail doesn't bode well for how much actual reading of other posts you've done.

Is it too late to join?

Feel free to drop in a character request; I've had a few still to actually join the RP, it could be that I still need the crew

Work in progress cutaway of the Saxifrage. Some decks more detailed than others. It's possible to make out a bioreactor, the crew quarters, medbay and the docking arm/airlock in extended position.

'The place where we'll work'?

Um, it's a spaceship. You know, the whole premise of the RP. Did you even read any of the background? Your character app took three attempts to mesh with what's in it and now you're asking where the work place is? You're not instilling me in confidence with this.

And, what is kasei tech at?

Kasei is on about the same level as the UTF; if you were to scale the power and development of the various nationstates, it'd look a bit like this:

1 - United Terran Federation
2 - Kasei Alliance
3 - Mesoamerican Union
4 - Lada Cooperative
5 - Harpagia Sulcus
6 - Tharsis Federation
7 - Luna Republic
8 - Ishtaria
9 - Venusian Federation
10- Osiris Republic

What positions are still open?

Does (illegal or legal) Slavery exist?

What is the minimum age for a character?

Technically, until the RP gets to that stage, they all are. Some people who've put in an app haven't posted yet, so if they miss the boat, so to speak, then sucks to be them. The Saxifrage can take 12 comfortably, typical crew is 10 and can run with as few as 3 or 4. We'll see who's active when I feel the RP is moving onto leaving Ceres.

Does (illegal or legal) Slavery exist?

Slavery is technically illegal, although some states may have something akin to indentured servitude for debtors. Illegal slavery is pretty much always going to be with us, so long as there's people willing to exploit the labours of others. It's relatively uncommon to find it on spaceships, given the technical requirements to work on them and no one really wanting to add to a ship's mass by taking on unskilled workers who'll need life support and feeding. The pay and conditions on some isolated stations might feel like slavery, especially if payment is withheld until after the period of employment and the employer controls the means of getting anywhere.

What is the minimum age for a character?

Well, it's a brave captain who takes kids on an interplanetary trip. Not only are they more at risk from radiation effects and the long-term side-effects of anti-radiation and G-force drugs, it's unlikely they'd have contributable skills (see comment above about mass). Ember Kone will be looking for some reasonable skills and experience.

I would like to run a character from Mercury. Comparable gravity to Mars. Maybe the Domestic position.

Or is Mercury something that is supposed to be mysterious?

Mercury isn't mysterious, it's just isolated and difficult to live on, the delta-V just to visit is fairly large and there's no guarantee of either fuel or resources being available so most private enterprises don't bother. There's easier places to go.
