Personell file - Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West

Name:MNC Prophet
Type:Heavy Fleet Carrier
Class:Lead ship, only surviving ship of the Prophet Class
Role: Escort/Assault Ship
Nation of origin:The Cross and Davids Star
Year commissioned:1930
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Gender:Male
Character:Prophet is generally very friendly, greeting new flotilla members, and bonds very quickly to new friends, treating them like one would a family. It’s because of this bond that he worsens his situation in order to protect his friends, and almost always comes back from a sortie with some kind of major damage, as well as a lack of any morale if a fleet member sinks, and will outright refuse to attack a friend if they were to become an Abyssal. He spends most of his free time training, pushing himself to become faster and stronger. He becomes very wary around torpedoes as well as submarines, as the Prophet met his initial demise because of them.
Special abilities: Experienced in combat, can get along with almost anyone, higher resistance to damage due to extent of armor, effective with submarines, but he doesn't prefer to be around them.
Technical Description of the vessel: The Prophet is the namesake of the Prophet Class, and once had an identical sister ship, the MNC Ruth, both being the most powerful of their type. Both of which were sent to a naval academy to help with flight training for navy pilots, but was caught in a surprise attack, nearly destroying the Prophet and sinking the Ruth. The Prophet was repaired several weeks later, being upgraded with a new engine and armor, and began a long campaign, appearing under the cover of night and decimating entire fleets. It was during an escort mission to transport a large amount of munitions, when the Prophet was ambushed by submarines, but distracted them from the transports for them to flee, but took fatal torpedo damage in its engines and fuel tanks, and soon capsized, taking all hands with it. The Prophet was repurposed with air superiority and survivability in mind, having large amounts of AA guns and aircraft storage, which made it heavily effective in diamond formation, and can take quite a few hits before losing its edge, and usually won before that happens, but its fatal flaw is no lack of other defenses, save for its aircraft and 4 naval guns, making it an easy target if unattended.
Technical Data
Displacement: 54,000 tonnes, 63,205 full load
Length (overall):714 ft,2 in. (217.6 meters)
Width:102 ft. (31 meters)
Draught: 35 ft, 7 in. (10.7 meters)
Propulsion: 4 shaft turbo/electric drive, 8 boilers, 28,900 HP
Speed: 17 knots
Complement:1,385
Armament:60 M45 quadmounts, 40 Bofors guns, 4 20cm naval guns, 30 A6M, 20 D3A, 10 C6N, extra space empty to accommodate other carriers aircraft.
Armour: Belt: 12 in (305 mm) Deck: 4 in (105 mm) Flight Deck: 6 in (152 mm)

It was early in the morning, around 0450, with Prophet beginning his training, starting out with a several mile run around the harbor, finishing up sweaty and out of breath, taking but a moment of rest before donning his outfit. It was particularly stormy weather, with large waves crashing onto the piers, but that made him all the more excited, launching out into the ocean and its storming fury. With high moving targets to simulate warplanes, Prophet battled the storm all the while taking down targets with with considerable ease. A burst of water spewed out right beside him, distracting him from his practice. Launching a recon plane, he found an Abyssal destroyer, he had never seen an Abyssal before, only in tall tales, but the Abyssal was very much real, its guns aimed straight for him. The destroyer fired a full salvo at Prophet, who had to overcharge to avoid it. “If I was there a moment longer, say goodbye to my flight deck.” He thought. His engines sputtered and failed, a side effect of overcharging, and he became a sitting duck. The Abyssal fired once more, its shells slamming into Prophet’s side. In retaliation, he stretched his arms in front of him, locking the two halves of his flight deck on his arms together, 2 drum magazines protruding out the sides. His flight deck ready, he aimed and fired around 17 bullets, materializing into Shinden interceptors, each armed with bombs, streaking towards the monstrous vessel. The Abyssal fired its AA guns, knocking out all except 2 of the planes. With terrifying accuracy, the survivors released their payloads, slamming them into the Abyssal’s gaping maw. The bombs exploded on impact, the vessel reeling back before sinking back down to where it came. Prophet sighed, annoyed yet satisfied with this morning’s training. His engines churned back to life, sending him back to dry land and a warm bath. After finishing repairs, he opened a letter he received while he was out, requesting him to serve under the admiral stationed in the Wide Seas. After calculating the coordinates leading to a small island, Prophet packed his things, donned his outfit, and set off to the Wide Seas and whatever may be there.

Have you read and understood the rules? Prophet suited, armed, and ready for combat!

Hi. Looks relatively good so far (we'll have to talk about the speed, as well as complement and/or weaponry), but could you please go over the rules again, especially concerning the second question of the OOC-section?
Also, as an RP-sample, I need a link to an RP you participated in, which shows how you interact with other players. While the paragraph you wrote shows promise, I sadly can not accept that.
So far, pending.

Engine power is quite low for the claimed speed. I don't recall the Ki-44 ever being carrier rated in any sort of capacity either. Same for the Ki-45.

Not to mention that both were actually IJA-planes.
Also, I can't shake the feeling, that the crew is actually a whole lot too small for a ship of that size and armament, as well as the weight a bit too high (even with that much armour on it). Can be only me, though.

This was a merry message.
And before anyone asks, that all is very well within the authority of Coriolanus as flagship.

I'm tempted to apply for that position of Sub Leader using Nevlamas, but I know for a fact that I don't post anywhere near as often enough to be leading a bunch of other subs

It's mostly an administrative position and an advisory role for the flagship. At least it is intended as such, Coriolanus/Legatia might differ on that.
Also, thanks for reminding me...

That reminds me, beyond acting as Paperwork-Pusher-in-Chief, what else is the Adjutant expected to do?

Besides its position as Paper-Pusher-in-Chief, as you put it, the Adjutant is... well, the Adjutant of the Flagship. I originally planned the Adjutant as the Mutsu to the Flagship's Nagato (anime here), but... well...
So, brainstorming time:
    - Drawing onto the enormous experience Hydrus has, council and advise would be much needed sometimes. Especially at the moment, when it comes to a certain suicidal carrier...
    - Coordination of Air Assets and Base Matters, including expansion and outposts.
    - Last Line of Defense.
    - Expeditions - that one will be important.
    - Wise Mentor, basically our version of Obi-Wan Kenobi - or Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, depending on how you want to play it.
Just tell me and/or Legatia what is to your liking and we'll go from there. Of course, more ideas are always welcome.

-Last Line of Defence

Now I fully expect there to be at least one time when everyone else is out on a mission somewhere and Hydrus has to lead the defence of the base with a smattering of ships left behind for whatever reason.

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. The fact I recently bought two new games and the fact that schoolwork is catching up doesn't leave me much time to catch up on the forum.

As a compensation, I offer this sub-par drawing of Catherine's ship-self. I used her as an art project, and the idea was to make the original drawing without taking your writing utensil off of the paper.

You could expand on the Expeditions point by saying 'The forming of expeditions', because just saying 'Expeditions' is pretty vague

And SHIPS! (none of which will be applied for since I've pretty much hit cap) ==> https://imgur.com/a/y7tRQ

Wish I knew how to play From the Depths. Never could understand that game.

Well made! :)

You're lucky. You could run the game at the very least, my PC nearly crashed first time I opened it up!

Oh, and nice job with those ships Hashirajima!

From the Depths is bloody easy- it just takes time to understand. It's not a learning curve, it's a learning wall.
I would do Catherine, but she'd simply be too ridiculously massive for my computer to handle. Even if I did her at 1/3 or 1/2 scale.
Anyway, good job. In the meantime, I'm doing Catherine in pixel art form, so.

The union stands as strong as ever, planet after planet falling into our hands.
All who oppose us will fall!
For Borysyuk!
For the motherland!
