Do I get this right, that the Bogmodians in Axis Asteroid's posts are the Boglandias from UniversalCommons? How is that even possible, how did the Amazons get into the swamplands of the west without going through basically all the other nations?

The Amazons began in the Great Forest neighboring the boglands. They are trying to reach the open plains of Aramoor, and the marshes are the final obstacle blocking their path. The IE post indicated that the warlord Ran'Shak and his Reptika were challenging both Bogmodia and the Akmons, so the two sides set up a alliance against their mutual foe.

Bogmodia for survival, and the Akmons (also for survival) to remove the enemy that made the bogs unsafe for travel, trapping them within the confines of the forest unless dealt with.

With the Akmons growing exponentially, a fellow warlord has taken notice. Ran'Shak, a warlord of the swamps, has challenged and denounced the Akmons tribe. He assures the tribes that are under him that they are nothing but weak mutts trying to become big. THe Reptika have a large presences in the Marshes, Swamps, and Bogs of Aramoor. He has taken tribes under his wing, tribes he has promised protection for soldiers, food, and drink.With the rise of recent cities he has also looked aggressivly toward the city of Boglandia. Is this just a bluff, or is Ran'Shak ready to break the peace in Aramoor.

EDIT:

A number of battles and skirmishes have already taken place throughout the swamps. Two outside the walls of Granite. (The first involving the Reptika trying to storm the walls. The second involving the Akmons arriving at the scene, attacking the enemy from the rear and forming a perimeter in front of the gates, joined by the defenders in a sortie outside the walls. It was a close call though since the Reptika vastly outnumbered the two sides.)

Beyond that, there were also a number of skirmishes throughout the swamp involving the Bogmodians ambushing and engaging in guerilla war with the attacking Reptika. A number of villages have been forced to evacuate to Granite because of the frequency of the attacks.

Then there was also a night attack on the Akmon encampment outside the boundary of the wetlands themselves, in which the Reptika herded several monsters to spearhead the attack before joining in themselves.

Now, the warlord Ran'Shak has been discovered and both sides, the Bogmodians and the Akmons are taking action to deal the final blow.

Okay, I thought, you started in the southeastern part of the map, but you actually started in the west.

Okay, I thought, you started in the southeastern part of the map, but you actually started in the west.

The Southeast has no forests to my knowledge. The Akmons make their home in the woodlands, but I wasn't sure which forested part of the map, so the IE post made the choice for me in that regard.
