The world looks like something from an early science fiction stories one could find in The Weird Tales magazine - zeppelins roam the skies above huge art-deco skyscrapers, jazz performed on theremins flows from the juke-joints, while gangsters fight with electric guns. It is a World made by Telsa, although not the world he might have dreamed of. How did it all started?

In 1893 Nikola Tesla makes an interesting allience- he is approached by Charles Yerkes, baron of mass transit. Yerkes shows great interest in development of wireless broadcast thinking it can give him some edge over his business rivals. The first wireless transmitter is built in 1902. with Yerkeses money and world entered a new era. After Yerkes died in 1905 Yerkes- Tesla foundation continued to work to make world a better place, now working for benefit on mankind and not for Yerkes financial interests. Flood of inventions came into the world: radio, electrotherapy, microwaves, huge electrically powered factories that increased production by hundred-fold while reducing the amount of human work needed.But no amount of technology can eliminate man's greed and ambition. And some events happen no matter what. Again, it was the murder of Austrian heir to the throne that had opened Pandora's box of destruction.

In 1914 World War started raging with new destructive power as all sides involved used Tesla's invention to kill and destroy. It kept on for full five years, destroying much of what's been build and changing the face of world. It ended undecisively, with a victory for US backed Entente powers, and World Council was put in place to take care of the world peace. However, behind the curtain of new world diplomacy arms race raged on. Now, in the year of 1930, there are more challenges for the world powers as destructive potential of Tesla's invention is revealed.

In this RP you might play as any Nation, character or organization. The point of divergence is 1893.

One paragraph history of your nation: (from 1893 onwards, not required if nothing has changed from RL) After winning the Russo-Japanese war. Japan rapidly modernized. Officially annexing Korea in 1910 and incorporating Taiwan into the Japanese Empire. In WW1 After fighting the Germans, Japan claimed China had been helping Germany in the war and fought against them, receiving some aid from the British Navy and Indian Garrison. The Japanese quickly broke through the Chinese lines at Shanghai and Qingdao and made a quick rush to Nanjing, they sacked the city and burned the government buildings before chasing the Chinese Remnants all the way to Beijing where an 8 month siege occurred before the Chinese surrendered. They signed the treaty of Beijing which seceded the lands of Canton (Modern Day Provinces of Guangdong and Fuijan) as well as the city's of Shanghai and Qingdao. The Chinese also had to sign a non aggression pact and pay a shit ton of money to Japan. Japan soon incorporated the lands. Since then they have continued modernizing the army and creating one of the strongest militaries in the world.

Army Description: The code of the samurai is still alive and this paired with the extremely strong nationalism make morale almost a non existent problem in the army as soldiers are always eager and ready, in addition the army makes sure its troops can be supplied with the best weapons and supplies. The army uses Armored Cars, and Tanks, in addition to Horse cavalry, and the 24lb Howitzer as its main cavalry and artillery respectively. The military remains very powerful, and one of the if not the strongest military in the Far East.

Unlike irl, Hungary was allowed to keep it's territory consistent to Hungary's irl World War Two territory. Much like turkey of irl, Hungary violently resisted the treaty, seeing it as unfair, fighting Romania, Yugoslavia, and Slovak nationalists. Yugoslavia quickly made peace, fighting it's own political battle to unify itself. They gave up a tokens worth of territory in exchange for Hungary recognizing Yugoslav control over Croatia-Slavonia and ending hostility. Hungary was also relieved as this allowed it to focus on other fronts. The Slovak nationalists were fighting a two front war against the Czechs and Hungarians, and the Czechs made a deal with the Hungarians. Bohemia and Moravia had basically given up, as the rivalry between Czechs and Slovaks was increasingly heating, to the point that the Czechs would rather be rid of the Slovaks, and were happy to hand the problem over to the Hungarians. For a price. Hungary is, to this day, legally obligated to protect Bohemia-Moravia if it is ever invaded. Hungary was able to deal with Romania, invading Transylvania. With the entire Hungarian army focused towards one front, with nationalistic fervor boosting the ranks of the Hungarian army. Hungarian rebels in Transylvania also rose up against the Romanians, and by 1926 Hungary had signed the Treaty of Cluj, ending Hungary's expansion.

In 1893, Britain was flourishing as a gargantuan Empire. Queen Victoria was known as a benevolent, but firm, monarch. William Ewart Gladstone was a popular Prime Minister. The Labour Party was founded to defend the working class. The Empire was only growing; it had just captured Uganda, and was reaping the benefits of Britain's "Jewel in the Crown," India. However, war was approaching: in August of 1914, Britain declared war on Germany for forcing its way through the north or Europe, including Belgium, violating Belgium's neutrality. And so, the UK joined the First World War, brutally forcing many from its colonies to fight. It was arduos, and took a bad toll on the country. Since the end of the war, Britain has been trying to deal with its massive unemployment rate, and its unpopular King, George V.

One paragraph history of your nation: The incredible march of technology of the Industrial Revolution and Tesla's second wave of inventions transformed European economics from the very foundations - and, in doing so, inspired the overthrow of all established social and political traditions. Economic prosperity, by making a decent life for all a concept that could actually be envisioned, fueled the rise of anarchism and socialism on one hand, and radical nationalism on the other. It was in this context of powerful political turmoil that an anarchist bomb-thrower assassinated Christian IX of Denmark on the 9th of June, 1897. The Folketing, desiring a neighbouring ally to support their claim to Slesvig and easier co-operation with the scientific and technical resources possessed by Swedish academic institutions, elected Oscar II of Sweden-Norway as the new monarch of Denmark, establishing a personal union. Although the actual power wielded by the new king over the Kingdom of Denmark was sharply and firmly limited by the liberal-democratic Danish constitution, the symbolic value and prestige associated with this Scandinavian personal union cannot be understated. A rising Scandinavian nationalist movement, closely associated with the liberal movements in Scandinavia, propelled increasing assertiveness in Scandinavian foreign policy, as well as closer integration between the still legally separate states. Although the personal union itself dissolved during the Great War, with Norway breaking out of the personal union in 1915 and the monarchy itself being abolished in Denmark and Sweden in 1916 following a massive political scandal, the political integration between the three governments still remained, and the Scandinavian Commonwealth continued to maintain an economic union and a common foreign policy. Due to its status as a neutral - and hence undamaged - power at the end of the Great War, Scandinavia was able to exert great influence over its neighbours. Army Description: Unlike many other European nations, the Scandinavian Commonwealth does not maintain a conscripted army in times of peace. Since its foundation in the 19th Century, Arbetarpartiet has steadily gained strength, first entering government after the 1904 elections and forming its first government following the 1920 elections. Its economically progressive policies and highly democratic nature earned it the confidence of the Scandinavian working classes who made Arbetarpartiet the single strongest party in Scandinavian politics, while its stance against Marxist socialism have even allowed the party to gain considerable popularity with the middle class. Konservativa folkpartiet (the Conservative People's Party)
Founded in response to the increasing belligerence of the liberals in the 19th Century, Folkpartiet has a long and complex history of steady decline. Originally a fiercely right-wing party defending the interests of the clergy and the aristocracy, Folkpartiet slowly abandoned its anti-democratic and elitist values in accordance with the nature of the times. Now, as Scandinavia's only major centre-right party, Folkpartiet seeks to preserve the traditions and values of Scandinavia and presents a mildly-nationalistic foreign policy agenda. Despite its shift in its stance in political issues, Folkpartiet remains fairly mercantilist in economic policy. As of 1930, this party is the leader of the opposition.

Vänsterpartiet (the Left Party)
Founded as a general collection of anti-monarchy, pro-democratic liberal interests in the closing years of the 18th Century, Vänsterpartiet - as the party is now called after multiple name changes over the years - was and remains dedicated to political liberalisation. Ironically, the very political movements that this party once advocated for in alliance with the social democrats - greater involvement of the lower classes in politics - resulted in a decisive shift in the balance of Scandinavian politics to the left. As a result, this party, which has retained its classical liberal values, is now considered a centre-right party, being often found in a coalition with its former opposition - the Conservatives. Bondeförbundet (the Farmer's Coalition)
The origin of Bondeførbundet reaches far into the depths of history. Although the party gained its formal organisation as a political party in the mid-19th century, the organisation finds its roots in the collective agricultural ventures and the associations of village councils in the medieval era. It originally sought greater involvement of rural residents in politics and a greater respect for rural interests in a political sphere which it perceived as being dominated by urban or aristocratic interests. Today, Bondeförbundet is the farmer's advocate as much as the Social Democrats are the urban worker's advocate, and enjoys great popularity in Denmark and certain regions of southern Sweden. As of 1930, this party is a part of the ruling coalition.

Kristen höger (Christian Right)
Founded in 1902 by the more right-leaning elements of the Conservatives interested in continuing to advocate for the values that the Conservatives originally stood for when the Conservatives began adopting more liberal values, Höger has never been very popular and, now, doesn't even enjoy the support of the clergy anymore, with many religious interests favouring the Conservatives instead. Although even Höger was forced to drop its opposition to key issues as women's suffrage, it still remains the most reactionary party in Scandinavian politics, and is the smallest party of the so-called "establishment" parties. As of 1930, this party is in the opposition.

It was in this context of powerful political turmoil that an anarchist bomb-thrower assassinated Christian IX of Denmark on the 9th of June, 1897. The Folketing, desiring a neighbouring ally to support their claim to Slesvig and easier co-operation with the scientific and technical resources possessed by Swedish academic institutions, elected Oscar II of Sweden-Norway as the new monarch of Denmark, establishing a personal union. Although the actual power wielded by the new king over the Kingdom of Denmark was sharply and firmly limited by the liberal-democratic Danish constitution, the symbolic value and prestige associated with this Scandinavian personal union cannot be understated. A rising Scandinavian nationalist movement, closely associated with the liberal movements in Scandinavia, propelled increasing assertiveness in Scandinavian foreign policy, as well as closer integration between the still legally separate states.
