June 21, 2017: The adventure begins!

Undisclosed Underground Location

A well-dressed man appearing in his late fifties walked calmly into an abandoned factory building. Shattered glass and rusted machinery surrounded him as he walked through the relic of American industry. He was handsome, with thin brown hair and green eyes, but had a bit of a worn face, which expressed the fact that he had not lived a peaceful life. A thin scar braced his forehead, and his eyes gave off the look of someone who knew what he wanted in the life, and what he needed to do to get it.

While this mysterious figure seemed out of place in his setting, he moved with a purpose towards the back of the factory. Opening a rusted door, he headed down a set of stairs leading to a different kind of place entirely. He walked down a hallway with clean white walls as he heard the faint sounds of voices and running machinery. As he walked forward, a blonde woman younger than him wearing a lab coat stepped out of a brown door at the end hallway.

"Sir, I'm so glad you could make it, we've made incredible progress. The machine... it's ready..."

A wicked smile broke out on his face, the way he smiled made it clear that he did not do so often. "Take me to it". He ordered simply as he followed the woman inside. Another man, equally well dressed but with a darker complexion, stepped forward to meet the first.

"Prometheus, good to see you. I am very interested to see this plan finally enacted." The second man said with a bit of a smirk.

Prometheus offered a curt nod in return, "Make sure everything is prepared on your end Solomon, things are about to move very quickly." With that he moved on from the man he was speaking to and towards the center of the room where the "machine" sat. It was a large circular device held up on two square platforms. Dozens of wires ran through the device and all connected to a mysterious crystal that sat in the center. The crystal sparked with pure energy that seemed to be flowing through the wires and into the machine itself.

Prometheus stared at it for a moment, his eyes gleaming with possibilities. He watched as it began to be wheeled away by lab workers, following it towards to roof. Once there, he and the others stood around the machine as the blonde scientist began shouting orders. "Alright, flip the switch, three... two.... one!"

The machine was turned to full power and suddenly the sky was filled with sparks of electricity, and the crystal itself began to glow a deep red. Under the booming sound of the energy bursts around him Prometheus smiled to himself and spoke. "The Reckoning is upon us..."

League News Television Network Broadcast, 2:20 PM

"This is Richard Morrison live from New York city, where a sudden burst of freak electrical storms seem to be causing havoc across the city. Reports of ordinary people suddenly obtaining superpowers are spreading like wildfire. Quick Shot is currently leading the Freedom Fighters to break up a riot outside of Madison Square Garden, but reinforcements have been called into the city as well. Voltra and Reactor are currently in a heated battle with members of the Hellfire Gang. The city has become a warzone... John, look out! That was a stray fireball straight from Inferno that almost hit us. The Mayor's office is urging people to stay in their homes and stressing the unsafe conditions. We strongly support this statement and stress that all our viewers follow it. Now, to our field reporter in Los Angeles, Jeanine?"

"Thanks Richard, Los Angeles is also dealing with this chaotic turn of events. However here at Los Angeles National Bank, we're seeing a different side of it. An attempted robbery by the notorious villain Thunderstruck, was thwarted when a hostage inside the bank suddenly gained super-strength, and tackled the bank-robber to the ground before Captain Quake and the other members of the Stars could even arrive on the scene. We have also heard that Naja and Starlight are engaged in a sizable battle against the Weatherman in San Diego where he is attempting to free zoo animals from captivity. In national news, the President has announced a state of emergency and help centers are popping up across the country sponsored by Delta Pharmaceuticals, seeking to help those who have newly acquired powers. Now back to the studio for our international perspective..."

"This is Jordan Haze with news from Europe where the Confederation of Heroes has been busy seeking out the source of this mysterious mass powering event. Another mystery is where the United Champions are, as there have been no concrete sightings of them since the chaos has started. Meanwhile in New Delhi there are reports of New Delhi Nagas working around the clock to protect new superhumans from themselves. This danger is clear as children who have suddenly gained powers have been reported to have started fires, caused earthquakes, and even severe weather storms. For now all we can do is stay safe, and let the heroes do their jobs."

Thomsen High, San Diego, California, 2:30 PM

Mars Asarin sighed as he sat in his 9th period math class, counting the seconds for the bell to ring and the day to be over. He hated being forced to sit in high school when he should reasonably be working on his first doctorate degree by now. His grand parents insisted he live a "normal" life however so he here was. He had to admit, his high school was nicer than most. All the classrooms had high tech computers and air conditioners. They had two very large gyms, a pool, and even a special facility for supers to train their powers. It was funded by tech billionaire Craig Thomson, someone he hoped to get an internship with one day. As he sat there, not even bothering to take notes, he heard a sudden crash and a scream coming from a nearby science lab.

"Jimmy, calm down!" Mars could hear Mr. Andrews, one of the school's science teachers, shout. Mars and a bunch of other students ran out of class towards the classroom to see one of their classmates, Jimmy Mathers, at the center of a small tornado swirling around the room. "No, I hate this place!" Jimmy shouted as a desk chair slammed into a nearby window.

While others started running away in fear, Mars headed towards the boys’ bathroom with a purpose. In his school bag sat his collapsible armor that he kept for emergencies, and if this wasn't an emergency...

He sprinted into a stall and emerged a few minutes later wearing sleek black combat armor; a helmet also covered his head, with a visor that was currently open to reveal his face. The armor was pretty basic, but it had a few non-lethal tricks and would protect him well enough trying to get Jimmy and others to safety.

However just as he entered the room a desk came flying towards him, and Mars just barely managed to dodge in time. Unfortunately dodging meant he was knocked into the room's sink. Mars rubbed his helmet covered head instinctively, "This is going to be harder than I thought..."

Caracas, Venezuela, 9:00 PM local time

"Alright team, mission accomplished. We're moving out now. " Stated Sonia Morais. She didn't technically exist, but if she did she would be known as Queen Cobra, the leader of the War-Hounds. Sonia was 19 years old, and had a small build and height. Her face was thin and her hair black and wavy, with signs that it is well taken care of and styled. The team she worked for was a covert ops group created by the US Government to utilize superhumans against national security threats. Currently they had just infiltrated and destroyed a drug compound belonging to a local drug lord named Omar Guarita. Sonia sat on the roof of the compound, tugging on her baggy combat fatigues as they waited for their evac helicopter when suddenly she heard some noise. Assuming it was their ride she turned to speak to the others,

"Alright people get ready to.... Holy shit." Cobra said suddenly, as she looked down at the city beneath them. Cars were wrecked, buildings were on fire, and it seemed like an army of supers had been unleashed. Their helicopter could be seen coming in but was suddenly struck by a flash of lightning. The tail caught fire and crashed right beneath them. Sonia quickly grabbed for her headset, "Boss, evac chopper is compromised, requesting another one asap.

There was a long pause until a voice spoke back, "Negative Cobra, you're going to need to find another way out of there on foot. All air traffic is compromised. " That was their mission coordinator and government contact, A.K.A. their boss. He was mysterious, only going by the name Floyd, his code name being Eagle Eye.

"But sir..."

"Don't question me Cobra, sending anyone else in is too dangerous. Just lay low, and get out of there without causing too much attention to yourselves. Eagle Eye out."

With that he was gone and Sonia sighed with frustration. She paused, taking in the surroundings for a moment. The complex was surrounded by small shops and restaurants. Off to the distance a little there was a large building that Sonia thought to be a mall. Once she had looked around enough she turned back to the people she was now responsible for keeping alive. "Alright we're on our own here. Good Girl, get down there and see if anyone survived the crash. Arturo, go on ahead and try to find us some kind of shelter or get away vehicle, we're too exposed out here. Bu, go with him to keep him safe. Keep your comms on at all times and don't start any unnecessary fights. Everyone else follow me, we're going to see what the hell is going on down there."

With that Queen Cobra's skin began to harden and take on a reptilian look, a long slithering tail growing behind her. Once the transformation process was complete she jumped off the roof gracefully, landing on the ground and waiting for the others to follow her.

"Kid. You're going to want to chill out." Spoke a voice belonging to a girl who stood just a bit taller than most. She was a formidable presence even discounting her powers, and those just made her much more intimidating. She wasn't exactly threatening, but she was the sort of person who looked like they could take on most anything. She had an unimpressed look, not seeming to be very scared of Jimmy.

Her firery red hair began to almost spark with anticipation. She kept herself loose and un-clenched, ready to bring up a shield of earth should the worse case scenario come to pass, but she hoped he would listen to reason rather than fighting her. "We can sort out whatever is bothering you, but you're going to have to stop blowing wind." She spoke. "Or someone is going to get hurt. Maybe not you, but someone."

She noticed Mars and raised an eyebrow at him. "Do I know you?" She asked genuinely.

"Well that's just bloody wonderful. No evac and this place decides to go bonkers. Just our fucking luck." Jane muttered as she put a cigarette into her mouth and then lit it with her powers, her right thumb lighting up for a brief second. She inhaled then took out the cylinder and exhaled smoke outwards. She had been told many times about the health detriments cigarettes had, but she felt they helped smooth over a life with far too many jagged edges. She sighed, feeling the small boost from the nicotine rush, then ebb and plateau.

Jane raised an eyebrow as Cobra jumped off the roof. She sighed in annoyance and then tossed the ciggarette away. She ran towards the roof and then jumped, creating a small boost of flames as she got to the bottom. She turned to Cobra. "We could have taken the stairs."

Tristan Carver
Warhounds

Shaman, or Tristan as was his given name, nodded as Queen Cobra, the leader of the group spoke and gave orders. Three others of the group parted to carry out their orders. She jumped off the building and landed on the ground, another of the group, Jane, followed suit after sighing in annoyance. He walked to the edge and looked around once, before stepping off the edge of the roof, not falling as one would expect, but instead standing as if on level ground. He accomplished this by hardening the air beneath his feet into a sort of platform. He then proceeded to walk towards the ground, through the air, forming footholds as he went, until he reached the ground after some time. At this point someone more normal would ask what was next, Tristan on the other hand cared little as long as he was allowed to vent natures fury on people.

Reece

Homeroom was his last class of the day. Which meant he was using it to doodle in his notebook. He tried not to show it, but he was slightly depressed. He had such a cool power and he devoted a lot of time to figuring out how it worked and designing ideas for it, but going out on patrol solo was difficult. He wanted to keep his avatars under ten feet for the sake of being able to go in and out of buildings, but he compromised a good chunk of firepower by doing so. Maybe with school being out of the way he'd be able to focus on his superhero goal. As he doodled in his notebook, his phone vibrated. He had it set up so that the only things that would do that were new reports that were in his area and texts from his parents, which he occasionally recieved.

To his surprise, it was the former. He opened the report and apparently people all over the world were developing superpowers. Which was terrifying and exciting to him all at the same time. There was danger. His power was extremely potent, but it left him absolutely defenseless while he was using it. He figured that at a worst case scenario, he could carry himself home using one of his flying avatars. Of course he hoped that no one would try to shoot him down. He dis have one designed with running really fast in mind, but he might need to modify it first, lest it's claws slice him apart. His daydream was shattered by a very audible crash happening not too far. The teacher had stepped out and it was almost time to go home anyways. She wouldn't miss him if he slinked off into the bathroom. Which he did, notebook in hand. He grabbed a stall and locked himself inside, quickly skimming through the notebook for a design to use.

He had many, though very few he wanted to use in a school environment. Most of the humanoid designs were knight themed. Sporting flaming swords or some other form of blade on a stick. Not something he was comfortable swinging around a building filled with people. Weapons were excellent force multipliers and made up for the fact that they were weaker than his more monstrous avatars, but they were still weapons. Plus there was the not insignificant chance that he would get in serious trouble for bringing a weapon to school. He dismissed that reason solely because he doubted that there was anyway the staff could trace it back to him. He caught himself getting lost in thought again, which many a reacher had scolded him for. His grades were good. Never dropping below a B, but their point remained, he could be doing better.

He forced himself back on track when he heard a second, louder crash and skimmed through his notebook. He found one that would be excellent. In theory. He got to work on focusing on the picture of the avatar he wanted to use. His eyes glowing with him having a look of intense focus as be tried to bring the figure to life. A large, muscular, blue skinned man. Lighter shades of blue traces the muscles on the body with a tiki mask covering his face. His right arm was closer to a massive gauntlet that extended down to his knees. On his waist was a grass skirt, covering the shame that he didn't have. Reece never designed the avatars with sex organs for obvious reasons. Waste of time and energy. It took another minute or so before the process was done and he was fully in control of the avatar with his human body sitting comatose on the porcelain throne. He sincerely hoped no one walked in on him.

This one he named Spirit. Physically it was on par with a very muscular human. With the obvious exception being the right arm with was superhumanly strong. He knew there were going to be jokes about one arm being much larger than the other. Crude jokes. But now was not the time for jokes. Reece stepped out of the bathroom and the people who were in the hallway were obviously very confused to see a blue seven foot man step out of the bathroom with a super arm. Hopefully no one put two and two together. Reece bolted down the hallway towards where he heard the crash, seeing an armor figure walk into the room. He didn't know if the figure was the one causing the trouble, but it was time to find out as he entered the room and then wondered what to say when he saw them. "Um... Hi?"

Brilliant display of confidence there Reece. He mentally kicked himself.

"Oh, come on Apostle, where's your sense of adventure?" A childish voice spoke up from the rooftop. "Besides, Auge says there wasn't nearly enough blood on this mission." The voice added, almost as an afterthought. Said voice belonged to one 16 year old Nicholas Strauss, aka "Fourth Seal." One would be forgiven for thinking he was two or three years younger however, being both skinny and short for his age. His mental age probably even lower than what his looks suggested. Despite being one of the most recent additions to the team, joining little over two months ago, Nicholas's mission kill count was already on par or had surpassed several other team members who had been on for over a year. Suffice to say, he had a few screws loose. A glowing green magical platform appeared under Nicholas's feet as he slowly floated from the roof to the ground. "... Although I think he says that on every mission." Nicholas finished.

'That's because its true. There is no such thing as spilling too much mortal life-essence. All they are good for.'

'I don't know, some of them are fun to play with.'

'Hn. Perhaps.'

"But if I stay out too long to have fun Weis will get bored... Guess we should be quick." As he spoke wisp of black energy clouded his body, before coalescing behind his back as a large and dark eye formed. Nicholas saw everything going on in all directions, before he quickly dispelled the Supreme Eye, keeping up such a long range for more than a few seconds taxing on his body. However, what he did see in that short time span caused his face to light up.

"Woooooah. I've never seen so many Supers at the same place at the same time." He said with some excitement. But then his face scrunched up in contemplation. "But they all seem so confused and panicky..." He told everyone.

Max Rainer- Los Angeles

It was a bright day in the great city of LA, land of dreams and stars. Only a few clouds graced the bright blue sky as I made my way down the street with a skip in my step. While the day was beautiful on its own, I couldn't help but fell I had made it just a little bit brighter for my peers and I. You see, my school just had another blackout. For some reason the power lines just haven't been cooperating lately. Now, you might ask yourself, "How could you have anything to do with that?" Well it's pretty simple. I said it would happen. That's the wonderful nature of my power. I just have to say it, and it is. Sure, there's downsides to it like having to watch your phrasing and the fact that you can't turn it off, but I'd say it's a small price to pay for something like this. Getting back to the day, I was walking down the street towards my apartment complex when some asshole decided run into me.

"Crap! What the he- shove off Mike!" Turns out the asshole was my good friend Mike, though good might be doing him too much of a favor. Anyways, Mike decided to take what I said quite literally. Now it could've been because of my power, but with Mike you never know.

"As you command, oh great master of the universe," he said with a smirk as he shoved me forwards some more. "Hey, thanks for the blackout. There's no way I was passing that chem test."

"And this is how you repay me?" I said as I continued my walk. "Seriously though, I can't keep pulling this. Pretty soon they're going to have to start taking days out of summer, and I am not staying an extra week cause you won't study."

"Fine, I'll study," he said as he put his hands up in surrender. "We have plans to get to first though. You call your parents yet?"

"Not yet. They'll both be at work so I'll call my mom. She's more likely to say yes, " A smirk grew on my face, "Although, I guess it doesn't really matter who I call since they both will." Mike rolled his eyes as I dialed the number with glee. The applications of my power never cease to amaze me. The possibilities are so immense it's hard not to find a situation it won't help.

We kept walking as the phone rang, turning down a side street towards Mike's house. My mom took awhile to pick up, and when she did the sounds of the movie set bustle were in the background. "Hey mom."

"Honey? Is that you?" she said. The background noise was heavy, and she was hard to make out. "Why are you calling me when you're in school, was there an accident?"

"No, just another blackout," I said. "I was just checking to make sure I could head over to Mike's place for awhile since we're out early."

"Again?" I could hear her sigh as she considered the options. "Fine, but be home by dinner. Me and your dad were both able to get off early tonight and it's been too long since we ate as a family."

I turned towards Mike and gave him the thumbs up. "Be back by dinner, got it."

"And Max," she said, "don't wander around the streets too much. Lots of strange reports are on the news and I don't want you getting hurt."

"Love you," I said as I hung up, not acknowledging her final request. Me and Mike gave a high five as we continued down the street, debating what to do after we grabbed some lunch. Prank some store owners? Mess with the school bully? So many possibilities.

"Hey, I heard some cities are getting hit with some weird storms," said Mike as we kept walking. "I wonder if it'll hit us?"

I shrugged it off. "Nah, we'll be fine. Besides," I puffed up my chest, "I'm here to protect you."

Mike laughed. "You're too much of a pussy to fight anyone at our school, much less a storm."

I raised my eyebrow. "I'm not the one that's gonna be making me a sandwich when we get to your place."

"No! Please don't do this to me man," he pleaded. But I was an unrelenting overlord, and his humble request was denied. "Asshole," he said as he trudged on. We kept walking with an optimistic outlook, despite what we heard on the news. Besides, I had said we would be fine, so there was nothing to worry about, right? Little did we know, beyond the narrow streets and rooftops, the movie sets and the Hollywood sign, there were dark clouds on the horizon. It was going to be an interesting day.
Do you want freedom? Well too bad, you won't get it here. All hail the Flaming Almighty!

But, go with him to keep him safe.

Jaxon sighed after watching some of his fellow Warhounds leave the roof of the compound. 'Great, of course some stuff like this would happen after the mission.' Jaxon had an annoyed and frustrated look on his face, but with his height only at 5'1 and his body on the thin side, he did not look intimidating at all. Most people would say he looked like a cute kid instead of an agent for an international law enforcement agency.

A grappling hook then grew from Jaxon's arm, almost like an extra appendage. He grabbed the hook and slowly pulled it from his body, showing that it was attached to rope growing from Jaxon's body. Jaxon wrapped some of the rope around his hand before using the hook to grapple the edge of the building and jumping off.

"Someone could've helped me off the building, you know. Because of that last mission, I'm running low on material," Jaxon complained as he rubbed his flat stomach, "I don't know how many other objects I can make without eating some food first. And I'm sure I'm going to need to make a lot if what Nicholas said is true." The power Jaxon possessed was extremely useful and versatile, however, it would have been even more useful on a 6'2 muscle builder with protein cells to spare. Jaxon knew he probably would never build much muscle, or grow tall, considering the height of both his parents, but usually, his smarts made up for the small amounts of material he could use to create objects. However, if he didn't have any fat or protein to work with, that was an entirely different story.

'Damn, this is going to be troublesome.'

Wendy Felix, a.k.a Wifi
San Diego

With everything going on in the city, few people gave the girl standing at a bank ATM a second thought as she made a withdrawal. Had they looked closer though, they would have realized how out of place she was. Her jet black hair, which reached all the way down to her back, looked like it hadn’t seen a comb in months. Her eyes, which were so dark one might have mistakenly thought she had no iris’s at all, stared at the ATM’s screen as tears well up in them from how long they’d been open. Her skin was a pale white, the only color on it the smudges of dirt and other debris that had accumulated over the past few weeks.

“Come on you stupid machine.” The girl said as she stared at the screen, which flickered with account numbers and monetary amounts even though her hands never touched the keyboard. “Work with me here.”

Finally, she found what she was looking for. A fat cats bank account large enough that a few hundred bucks skimmed off the top would be noticed. Okay. She thought taking hers eyes off the screen long enough to blink and examine her ratty jacket. Maybe a little more than that to get a new coat. Bringing her eyes back to the screen she watched as it spat out a pile of twenties that she quickly pocketed.

Hearing a commotion at the bank entrance she peaked her head around the corner to see a bank robber slowly backing out of the front door with a hostage, likely one of the tellers given her attire. With his gun still pointed at the crowd inside and the cops and supers to busy elsewhere to help, the man probably thought he was going to get away Scott free. And he probably would have had the roll down metal door not mysteriously sprung to life, dropping down on his head with enough force to knock him out.

The police officers and anyone else investigating likely would blame some lucky technical glitch for what happened, but the girl sprinting down the street knew the truth. She also knew the word the police officers would use to describe her if they found out what she had done…

And it was a word she promised to never use herself after what she had done in her past.

Koh Indigo
San Diego

Koh walked down the street, ice cream in hand, headed for the beaches of San Diego for a quick visit. Though the waters were sure to be beautiful, it was in the interest of interrogating the locals that she so determinedly focused on her destination. Supposedly, there were multiple reports on random people appearing on the shores. Surely someone would remember something about a surviver. She touched a photo in her pocket reflexively.

She stopped a moment to read a headline in the news, her dark green eyes scanning for anything relevant. Something about a political figure, another on a hero vs. villain clash. Same old, nothing noteworthy. Rolling her eyes, she shouldered her bag and moved on. It wasn't that she held anything against the heros exactly, but she always felt they seemed a little flashy for her taste. And the damage certainly out weighed whatever perceived good accomplished, at least in her eyes.

'Considering how little they appear when we really need them...' She shook the thought away mentally. After all, not all heroes were so absent minded, she shouldn't group them that way.

A girl with jet black hair rushed passed her, knocking the ice cream out of her hands. In dismay she watched as it fell to the ground and the girl dashed around the corner.

She grumbled and finished off the cone.

Suddenly a rumble placed a crack in street.

"Earthquake!" A man's voice yelled out.

Screaming ensued as pedestrians began to scurry about. Cars screeched to a halt and horns tore through the air increasing the panicked energy in the atmosphere.

Koh looked around herself, looking for shelter to wait out the chaos. Strange clouds began to storm the sky. She stared with a gut wrenching sense of apprehension. A car horn blaring, rushed passed her, crashing into a stall as it swerved to miss another car.

With a quick glance to the sky, Koh deftly made her way to the wreckage where a man was tearing his way out of his car. She pulled him into a sitting position.

"Hold on, sir! You've been in an accident, you're going to be okay." Koh held his shoulder, with her other hand she focused a white flame on to her palm. It fluttered into existence and lay innocently, a slight pulse vibrating in the air around it. She placed her palm on the man's chest, where blood was pooling, staining his shirt.

The man moaned, then began wheezing as he tried to speak.

"Save your energy, sir. I'm helping, just wait a second, it'll be okay."

He grabbed her arm and squeezed.

"I... can't... breathe!" He grunted in fear. "It's...too...hot!"

Koh tried to press more energy into his body, when she involuntarily pulled her arm out of his grip. Her skin was bright red as a burn appeared. She turned back to the man. Suddenly she was aware of the spots on the man's flesh, red as burns quickly appeared.

She saw the flames fighting against the confines of his body. Her eyes widened and the man screamed as the fire left his mouth. She raised an arm and a clear stream of energy slid between her and the man, hardening just as the car exploded, her body being pushed back over ten feet.

She picked herself up, digesting what she'd just witnessed. Then looked to the sky again where the clouds were rumbling ominously.

Tvar Athi

San Diego, California

Tvar Athi gorged themself on half-eaten food from an alley dumpster. They had fought off a pack of small but devious Earth scavengers in order to obtain this bounty, and felt that such a victory was deserving of a feast.

Athi finished their feast and prepared to clamber back up the wall of the nearby building when suddenly said wall exploded, thwarting that plan. The shock wave from the blast knocked Athi into the opposite wall, forcing the air from their chest. As the surrounding air cooled the distinctive heat signature of a human appeared, looking directly at Athi. Athi's first thought was panic - they had been seen, now the inhabitants of this world would hunt them down to capture and study them. With such anxious thoughts clouding their mind, Athi didn't pick up that the human was stumbling, groaning, and glowing like a campfire with heat. As Athi sat stunned, though, the heat emanating from the human began to grow in intensity to the point where Athi's skin started to burn, which snapped Athi back to reality in time for them to roll away from the human before a second explosion hit.

As Athi stumbled out on to the street to escape the blast, the building crumbled around the glowing human, who stepped out of the rubble unharmed. Athi had no idea what was going on, but got the impression the human was attacking them. The human seemed confused, gesticulating wildly with his hands and shielding his eyes from the smoke. However, when he spotted Athi, he punched the air in front of him, sending a beam of bright heat careening down the street towards Athi. Athi jumped out of the way, and began running down the street towards the human. The human seemed to have hurt themselves with the force of his own power, and Athi was able to knock him out with one good blow to the head.

Athi prepared to drive their claws into the man's neck, to finish the battle like their parent Goht had taught them, and prevent word of their own presence on Earth from spreading. However, Athi instead ran away, rationalizing that the man was clearly delirious and wouldn't be believed, and a killing would just draw more attention. Athi fled down the street towards the waterfront on all fours, noticing strange weather and more disasters up and down the block and hoping the confusion would prevent much attention from being paid to them.

Elfie Magvalur, Good Girl

"Sure boss person, if they're alive I will make sure they stay that way! To bad about the whirlybird though, flying in whirlybirds is fun." I'd talk more, especially about Jane's unhealthy habit of inhaling evil clouds from fire sticks, and the swearing. But no time to lose. I stuck my sword in the wall on the other side and went in to focus mode. A little explosion of light always happens when i do that, I've gotten used to it, besides my body seems to reabsorb it instantly again, someday I should figure out what exactly that is. But now, whirlybird. I jumped over the wall and placed my feet down and began running down vertically with my sword cutting through the wall limiting my speed to not become a painful landing. Using my reflexes I dodged whatever would fly at me and quickly made my way to the downed whirlybird. After a good short sprint I reached it's location. A lot of warped metal, broken glass, smoke and fire decorated what once was a whirlybird.

I quickly went to what used to be the pilot area and dragged out the people inside. One didn't require taking a pulse from, he did not have the full body humans tend to require to live. May his soul find peace wherever it went. The other one was breathing slowly, no consciousness could be found though, probably got scattered around the area together with parts of the whirlybird. I administered some first aid and burned the wounds close and prepared my weapon, a sword named Sunny Day" for holy dispensing. I aimed Sunny Day at the sky and released small jolts of energy in the sky, some short bursts, some longer lasting bursts. Code of the morse stating 1 alive, 1 non-functioning. I never liked talking about dead.

Using the remains of the whirlybird and the destroyed terrain I started the making of the fort that would protect us from the flying projectiles of evil intent.

Objective fucking completed Bu Liao wordlessly reminded himself with grim satisfaction as he reloaded another magazine into his assault rifle, having spent entire rounds into the bodies of the enemy. His current team of other young superhumans had congregated at the top of the compound they had just assaulted. Joining them he witnessed the downing of their evac chopper, an unfortunate sight amongst the already chilling scene of a burning city. Slightly confused as to the current predicament he and his team were now finding themselves in Bu's military instincts preferably sought to stick strong to the mission he had been deployed on.

As expected Queen Cobra dictated swift orders for the team after contacting Eagle Eye himself. Assigned to provide a security element for Arturo he merely nodded in acknowledgement to his 'team leader' before striding to the edge of the roof to initiate a quick rappel down the building. Donning his own customized gear for special operations Bu or 'King' as was his codename on comms, was one of the less superhuman individuals of the team, being more soldier than superboy.

Lets hope our thief steals us something good he thought amusingly to himself as he soon found himself back on solid ground. Firmly hoisting his Mk 17 Scar-H rifle onto his arms his ears took in the almost soothing sound of the weapon being taken off safety. Also wielding twin Mark 23 pistols supplemented by a particularly nasty-looking jagged combat knife Bu had outfitted his small-arms with several modules specific for the mission including laser sight and suppressors. Carrying a light brown, combat-fit backpack he also wore a versatile REV body armour vest that was rested comfortably under a dark hoodie.

Checking the time, just past 2100, he dug a silver-knuckled, gloved hand into the flexible material of his black balaclava to wipe sweat off before looking to Arturo to lead them in search of a suitable replacement for evacuation.

Akira Yasunaga, San Diego

He's working again. Time to time, he already put on his resignation to Lycan but they won't let him go. Simply because he is just way too valuable for them, and also realized that he might be needed some more facilities and thus were given. Private chauffeur, limo for drive. All those kinds of things. He is fine, but unsure about his consideration with Lycan. Perhaps if he saw an opportunity to get out...

Not for now, of course. Now he has a job, beside the rocketry part. Apparently there are already unconfirmed reports of activity all around the world, soon officially confirmed with the League News's broadcast. At the same time, San Diego's Zoo had report of an attempt to free the animals in captivity. Starlight and Naja are more than capable to delivered their justices. Warwolf hasn't been on big things, he should know, he provided at least the IT and software for their deployment on the field.

He unleashed drones to scout San Diego. For conflicts, something to be intervened. Thomsen High, perhaps, has something to be intervened.

"Seriously Wan, this is so goddamn stupid!" A woman in a wheelchair said angrily, as she was pushed by a younger boy along the footpath. "I was fine with the crutches! I don't need a goddamn wheelchair!"

"Lone..." Wander sighed. "You did this to yourself. What did you think would happen if you tried to walk without the crutches? Of course you were going to make the strain worse."

"Oh, come on!" She shouted, disturbing some of the passerby's with her volume. "We've been through worse than this! You know I've been shot in the legs plenty of times, and I've always been fine!"

"God, will you stop shouting?" He replied, shaking his head. "You can barely stand. The doctor said you got hit in some special tendon, remember? The fact that you could even put weight on that leg at all is meant to be impossible! Walking on it is pushing it way too far, and I'll be damned if I let you keep doing it!"

"Ha!" Lone laughed, her voice almost entirely humourless. "You and I both know that as soon as you leave the apartment to go to work, I'll be back on my feet and practising! I'm going to learn to walk properly again, and you're not stopping me!"

"Damn it Lone..." Wander said through gritted teeth, clearly frustrated. "You know I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure you ca-"

And then he fell silent, as a freak storm began out of nowhere.

"Oh, come on!" He shouted, before fumbling through his backpack for an umbrella. However, he stopped as a loud crash rang out, followed by the sounds of people screaming. Shocked, he looked up to see a decent number of large explosions, seemingly coming from all around the city.

"Lone, hang on tight." He said, before lifting her out of the wheelchair. As he did so, he altered his muscular structure, particularly those in his legs, to replicate those of a flea.

"God, I really hate travelling this way..." Lone sighed.

And then Wander leapt off the ground, flying through the air towards their apartment building. In about six jumps, he was there, and quickly ran through the building to their apartment, fumbling for his keys for a moment, before finally getting it open and laying Lone down on the couch.

After this, he turned on their small tv, managing to catch most of the news report explaining just what the hell was happening. Once he'd finished watching, he gave a small nod and turned to Lone, who was doing her best to sit up.

"Alright, I'm gonna go out for a bit. Stay in here, lock the door behind me, and don't open it for anyone. I might be out for a while, but I'll come in through the balcony door."

"Alright." Lone said with a sigh. "But Wan?"

"Yeah?" He asked, looking up.

"Chuck me my crutches." She said. "I wanna eat later, and god knows if I actually do try to walk without them, you'll probably start crying or something."

"Oh, right." Wander said, picking up the crutches and passing them to her, with a despondent look on his face, before heading over to the fridge. He thought she was actually gonna show some concern for his wellbeing.

"Oh, and also, be careful." She said. "Can't have you dying on me before you become the best hero in the world, can I?"

As he searched through the fridge, a wide grin appeared on his face.

"Well of course you can't." He said, a joking time to his voice. "I'm the only one bringing in our 'lets not starve' fund!"

And then he pulled out a raw steak, waving it around slightly.

"I'm taking this by the way. I'll by another one on the way home."

And then he opened the door to the balcony, leaping off it into the city.

Well, he wasn't really sure how he ended up there, what with his directional abilities and familiarity with most of the city still being somewhat... lacking... but he ended up in the middle of a school.

It was here that he found himself in the middle of what could only be described as a clusterfuck, raw steak still hanging out of his mouth..

There were a few things going on at once. Things like an armoured person only just managing to dodge a flying desk, a girl with red hair trying to talk down the cause of the situation, and a boy with... well, from what anime had taught him, something that was commonly known as a 'Stand'.

The main thing he noticed, however, was the boy currently in the centre of the mini-tornado that was currently raging, shouting about how much he hated school.

"Hey buddy!" He called out, speaking surprisingly we considering how he still had a full steak hanging from his mouth. "So, uh... You shouldn't talk about school like that! Some people, including yours truly, never had the chance to go to school! Why don't we all calm down, stop complaining, and talk this out like the adults we assuredly aren-"

And then a stray piece of wood slammed into his face, knocking his head back as it bounced off it. He remained in that position for a moment, barely moving as more debris flew around him.

And then he lowered his head to face the boy again, a small stream of blood leaking down from his hairline and a feral grin appearing on his face.

"Or, we can go ahead and start the fight you're asking for properly!" He said, his voice almost sounding like a dog growling, before sprinting over to the boy and moving to make a powerful kick, his legs still reinforced by flea muscles.

Jessica Ghunsverd
Hero: Usteldt
Art School, San Diego

"A pulse of energy seems to be rushing through the city."

"What is it now?" Jessica asked, a cigarette on her lips. She'd ditched a number of classes as she relaxed and eased on the wall of her school. She saw as sirens began to blare. "This is not going to be an easy day, is it?" She asks, standing up, walking over to the nearby Thomsen High School. Her watch began to glow brightly. "Would you like me to trace the location of the energy wave?" it said.

"I think we have other issues to deal with," She says as students begin to run out of the school. She reaches down to her leg, pulling out a small dagger she hid in her boots. She twirled it around before fastening it in between her hands, ready for a fight. She picked up speed, running over to the school. The main doors were flooding with students. Jessica looked for an alternative entrance. She heads to the side of the building, picking up a small rock as she smashed the window, "pretty sure nobody will care if this window is broken, given the situation." She climbed through the window, trying not to get scrapes by loose shards.

The watch then projected a small map in front of her, "From what I can gather, it seems the students are running from this room. There are still a number of students in the building. The quickest path without resistance is shown as well."

"Thanks."

Jessica huddles down the walls, trying to avoid notice. She takes a careful stance, making sure to keep the blade close to her chest. She seemed prepared for any surprises. With multiple people erupting with powers, it seemed wise. She cloaked her head in her crimson leather jacket's hood. She sticks up the collar of her shirt, hiding her mouth. For the unsuspecting, she seemed m9re thief than worried bystander.

As she moved closer, she could hear the large tornado from behind the wall. "Do I know you?" She heard someone say, but muffled by the roaring winds.

"It seems we have more than just one person," The watch said. Jessica nodded in acknowledgement. "We may need to transform," it recommended.

"I can see that, but I don't want to rush in there without getting a good idea what the **** is going on," She whispered.

    Luke Westwoods
    Thomsen High, San Diego

Luke Westwood sort of just laughed out a bit as he was casually pushed back and pinned onto the lockers by Thomsen High's so-called "alpha", a much taller crimson-haired upperclassman Luke was unfortunate enough to meet in the worst of circumstances. It was a common, almost ubiquitous trope among any high school - name any high school in America, or the world for that matter. They all had that "alpha", be it the jock incarnation or the eccentric posh incarnation. Luke honestly wasn't sure of who this guy was - he never even knew his name. Jack, was it? Or Chad? It couldn't have been Jimmy, a person Luke was indifferent to and rightfully so - the kid was as quiet as a mouse.

"Ah! I remember your name!" Luke exclaimed. "Edgar! Why was it that you wanted me when I could be reading now?"

"It's Hawker," Luke's new best friend snapped. "I noticed those eyes of yours go places.."

"Oh, if it's about that, I'm always open to try new things," Luke said sarcastically, flashing a grin as he braced for a sucker punch from "Hawker". What the hell kind of name is that, anyways? Unfinished? Instead for his face, the blow came to his stomach. "No, you idiot! Now I've got a reason to call you a peeping Tom and a fa-"

"Wait one moment, mister." Luke continued. "You wouldn't want to say anything or do anything that you'd regret, would you? With a school like this there's bound to be cameras everywhere and microphones and stuff.."

"Do I look like I give a damn, Luke?" Hawker continued. "My pops knows people: I'll be off clean if anything happens to me here. Or to you."

"I wanna test that theory." Luke nonchalantly said. Mind games were fun, and punches that felt like pillows were even more fun. "But first, can you please tell me why I'm here?"

"I bet you know." Hawker snarled. "I saw you looking at my girl in class the other day. You know you can't just look at another man's girl like that."

"I'm aware."

"Then I bet you're also aware that I can whoop you right here, right now, for doing that! Take another look at her again and the next thing you're gonna be seeing is the floor."

Another crash filled the otherwise silent hallway - this time, it wasn't Luke being pushed into a locker. Both Luke and Hawker looked around the corner of the hallway and saw some sort of commotion coming from the nearby science classroom. Perplexed, Luke returned to Hawker. "One moment. It seems I've found your lost pencil."

Said pencil, when put into Hawker's hand, caused him to flop to the floor with a thud, as if his hand were attracted to the floor. In reality, the pencil weighed about a metric ton now, allowing Luke to slip past his incapacitated friend and approach the lab, slowly. Hawker would be hopefully staying there for a few minutes (unless he somehow got super strength, which seemed much more likely than fiction), which gave him enough breathing room to inspect what in the world was going on in the lab.

He nonchalantly stepped in, among a host of others like him (Barring the giant blue guy) and, of course-

"JIMMY!" Luke practically screamed his name. "I've heard about the saying 'blowing off some steam' but you seem to be taking it to a new level!"

He stopped. I shouldn't have said that. And rightfully so. Luke leaped out of the way of a stray object intended for someone or something else. Hopefully. Maybe keeping his mouth shut was the best choice of action. The kid seemed to be having a temper tantrum that, pretty soon, was gonna jeopardize the safety of the entire school, if it wasn't already.

Lazarus Goldman-Undying man
Art School, San Diego

Laz, as some friends called him, had just stepped out of one of the Buildings, getting out of class early, in a sense. He caught sight of an acquaintance of his, Jessica Ghunsverd, smoking against a building not far away from his. He was moving to join her, when she abruptly straightened and moved towards Thomsen High, a High School located only a stones-throw from the College Campus. He made to follow her, when he heard screaming and yelling from another nearby location, the cafeteria. Inside a Large, heavily built teen was going on a rampage, not an unusual occurrence for this guy, as he was prone to outbursts of aggressiveness.

What was strange, however, was that he was picking up metal tables and tossing them about as if they were pieces of paper. All the while he was groaning and moaning unintelligibly, presumably he had a power that had gotten out of control, but this one had not shown any power before. Laz shook his head to clear his thoughts before he entered the room, only to dodge to the side as a chair crashed into the doors he had just entered through. Thankfully the destruction caused had cleared the room mostly; unfortunately, this caused the rampaging Teen to focus on Lazarus who just entered.

Laz held up his hands in a non-threatening gesture as he spoke. “Easy there big guy, what is WRRRROOOOO---?!?!?” The end of his statement became chaotic as the teen threw another table, this time at him. Lazarus rolled out of the way, unfortunately he hit something, fortunately though, it was a cart that was laden with certain condiments. Normally, Lazarus carried some small salt packets or the like with him, but he left that elsewhere. He grabbed a couple salt shakers, and emptied them onto his left hand, as the out of control Super approached and swung at him. A purplish glow enveloped his hand, and the numerous grains of salt within.

At that moment Lazarus, flung the salt towards the other teen, he controlled them, to impact against his bare skin. Normally, Supers with super strength had Durability as well, but apparently, his opponent was one of the few that didn’t have that power pairing. The infused granules of salt dug into his skin, those that hit head on anyways. Many of the others, that didn’t draw blood, however miniscule the amount, flew around him scratching his skin here and there. The pain caused by the salt in the wounds was not unbearable, individually, but as the wounds and scratches built up, the Super went more and more out of control.

Though Laz was able to fight well enough due to him being faster and more focused than his opponent, he was hit and thrown into a wall by a wild strike of his opponent. The wall behind him crumbled, as Laz pulled himself out of it. The Super rushed at him, he was barely able to dodge out of the way as the hole he just crawled out of was made larger by the massive teen impacting into it. He started to crawl out, but collapsed, from exertion and his numerous small wounds, most likely.

A silence fell over the room, but it was broken as Campus security rushed in. They moved towards the fallen teen, they knew he was the main culprit due to reports, but the one who put him in the wall, was gone. Lazarus finished stuffing some packets into his various pockets, as he stepped onto the street. For a moment he contemplated whether to head towards Thomsen High, or to the other chaotic incidents in the city.

Koh Indigo
San Diego

It was like the city had been turned upside down. The chaos was insane! Koh ran from the wreckage, trying to drown out the overwhelming screams of fear. Everywhere she turned people were lost in a state of panic, calling for loved ones. Calling for help.

A shrill scream drew her attention. A young girl was floating above the sidewalk. She struggled helplessly as her body drifted further away from the ground.

Taking in this bizarre scene, Koh quickly ran to help. As she reached her, the girls body suddenly twisted unbalanced and she was out of Koh's reach.

"Help! Please, I can't get down!" The girl cried frantically.

Koh searched the street for anything useful. She spied a hot dog cart close by.

"What a time to lose control of your powers!" Koh yelled up as she sent a stream of clear energy up. It formed behind the girl and hardened as Koh focused it. As the girl bumped against the substance, Koh began to pull her back down, guiding her to the cart.

"I didn't...I didn't lose control! I don't even have any powers!" The girl shot back.

Koh scoffed. "Well then, what a time to take an impromptu joy ride!"

"Just get me down!" The girl yelled.

Just as they were close to getting the girl to safety, a loud boom announced the falling of a nearby structure. A cloud plumed, rushing out to the surrounding area.

Screaming ensued as the people rushed passed. A sudden onslaught of sickness and terror hit Koh. She could feel the pain of those stuck in the debris. Her concentration slipped.

The girl was yelling again. Pedestrians bumped into Koh. The air was thick and hot and she couldn't see anymore.

Their pain was too much, Koh began hyperventilating. The girl was still floating, though she had grabbed a light pole to keep from going further.

Arturo Montecalvo, simply called Art by his friends and known as Aegis to his comrades on the battlefield (nevermind that these two sets of people contained largely the same members), was currently lying on the floor of the rooftop of the half-wrecked building that had been Omar Guarita's hideout until the Warhounds struck earlier that day. As always, he was quite likely the one of the least interested in racking up kills during their mission, along with Good Girl and boss girl, partially because his power didn't allow him to do so very easily and partially because he didn't see much of a point in it if it wasn't directly required by their current assignment, but also because he knew that his teammates would take care of most of the killing anyway. Yet, despite being the one who had killed the least, his combat fatigues were quite bloody, owing to his lack of fancy long-range powers and the fact that a few thugs had managed to get close enough to him to spray him when he got rid of them. Things like these happened to him relatively often, and he found them quite annoying.

However, that was currently the last thing on his mind. At the moment, he was just trying to relax after a job well done, hands behind his head and eyes closed as he bobbed his head slightly to the tune of a song that was not heard, but imagined. Somewhat distantly, he could hear the leader of the team, Sonia, indicated that they would be moving out now, but he didn't move an inch. Having been on the team for nearly the whole three years since its formation, he knew the drill by now, and didn't intend to get up until he heard his teammates climbing onto their evac vehicle. Thus, he remained with his back against the ground until Sonia spoke again. This time he could hear the helicopter, and that, coupled with the girl's words of surprise, compelled him to get off the ground, dust himself off and see for himself what was going on.

The first thing he saw upon looking up was the helicopter that was meant to pick them up; it was on fire and soon crashed down onto the streets, a rather loud explosion following. Needless to say, that was not the most pleasant sight, and he stood there, staring on with a mix of surprise and irritation, before finally sighing and walking over to analyze the edge of the building. It was like a scene straight out of an apocalyptic movie, which did not improve his mood at all, but eventually, his natural coping mechanisms kicked in, and he simply chuckled at the scene.

"What a way to end a good day of work." He muttered in his native language, before acknowledging Cobra's orders. She was a good leader as far as he was concerned, quick to issue orders and take action even when the situation seemed to become dire, which he surmised from her command to get moving instead of continuing to wait for evac. He wasn't exactly fond of her calling him by his name instead of his callsign when they were on duty, if only because it broke the secret agent fantasy he had going on in his head, but after years of having it happen he had come to care less and less about it.

"Roger, Sonia. Though I'm not sure how tactically sound it is to send someone to protect me. Being protected is basically my job." The young man replied, calling her by name as well and even throwing in a little mocking affection to get back at her, before promptly jumping off the rooftop like everyone else had done, without hesitating for a second even though he lacked fancy powers like the others. Soon, the black bracelet around his left wrist soon expanding and forming a perfect sphere around him, which absorbed the impact of the fall. A moment after he had crashed down, the sphere disappeared to reveal Arturo standing there, completely unharmed.

Hearing the complaints of Jaxon, one of the younger members of the team, the man called Aegis put a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Don't worry, you've got people looking out for you. Or looking to kill anyone that looks at them funny, which is good for you anyway." He commented, before reaching into one of his pockets and pulling out a couple of energy bars. "Here, it's not much but it should help you out. You better stay alive, though, I expect you to pay me." He stated as he handed the boy the two plastic packages. Then, he turned away and took a few steps towards the streets and away from the former drug compound. Every vehicle nearby was either in flames, torn apart or simply not large enough to fit all of the group. From what he had seen while on the rooftop, the place he was most likely to find a suitable vehicle was the mall some distance ahead from him.

Suddenly, the young man broke into a sprint towards the mall, crossing right through the middle of the street. Anyone else would likely see it as a reckless move, but the Warhounds were already well acquainted with his one supernatural asset, the bracelet that would protect him from anything that was thrown at him. "King, come along, we're going shopping!" He spoke through the headset as he rushed on, most impromptu superhumans ignoring him, with the few that decided to toss a fireball or a bolt of lightning his way finding their efforts quickly thwarted by the bracelet, which expanded and blocked the attacks with apparent ease. However, even despite having the power of the alien artifact, the Hyloresistor, he began slowing down and using cover more often as he approached the mall. Such a location was likely to have a greater concentration of people than the streets, which meant there were far more odds of hostile superhumans being around.

Sneaking closer and closer to the mall, Arturo eventually found himself ducking behind a wrecked car right outside of it, analyzing his surroundings. Not far from where he stood, there was a decently-sized van that looked like it could definitely fit the whole group. "Hey, that one looks-" He began, but cut himself short when he noticed a bolt of flame shooting out of somewhere nearby and striking the van, tearing a hole in it and leaving it scorched and useless. "...good. Mierda." He muttered. As he finished, he looked to the source of the firebolt, and saw a group of several individuals who had seemingly banded together to seize control of the mall, taking advantage of the chaos surrounding the city. They were about seven in total, and though only one had displayed powers so far, it was not unreasonable to think that the others had them as well.

"Any ideas, King?" The thief asked his teammate while observing the scene from behind his cover.

Sofia Baker

"What the fu-"
Sofia's nearly finished exclamation was cut short as a piece of the school flew at her, blocked at the last second as a green, transparent shield covered in hexes appeared before her crossed arms, smashing the offending piece of the building to pieces. She was having such a nice day. No demons asking her to release them from their eternal prison, no thoughts of sacrificing innocent people for the sake of increasing her powers, just normal stuff. And then this happened. On the one day everything was going so well, something really really bad just had to happen. Forcing down the dark thoughts welling inside of her, she took a look around the room. Or what was left of it.

Right in the center of the "room" was the tornado kid, still freaking out and tearing up the surrounding area. Around the kid in a loose circle was a group of various students and what she was pretty sure was at least one adult, trying to get this kid to calm down. Suddenly a piece of wood smacked one guy in the face, a decent looking young man Sofia was sure she'd never seen before. After pausing for a second, the boy seemingly turned feral and ran straight at the kid making the tornado, spinning in preparation to kick. Sofia sighed. "Men. How predictable."
Anyone with half a brain could see that attacking this tornado kid was only going to make matters worse. So, Sofia did the only thing she could think of.

She reached out across the astral plane with her mind, summoning the power to restrain a person with unknown super powers. The powers of her mind increased a thousandfold in a second and she was able to reach with an invisible hand, grasping the feral superboy within a green aura right before he landed the blow. Focusing even more, she dragged the boy away from the small tornado, placing him down but still keeping her hold on him. Connecting their minds, she was able to speak with not only the feral boy but the rest of the supers trying to calm down "Jimmy", albeit through a telepathic rather than vocal way.

"Violence will solve nothing. It will only make the situation worse. We must find a way to calm this boy down, not make him even angrier. Anyone have any suggestions?"

As Wendy ran from the bank she bumped into a girl who’s complexion looked eerily similar to hers, knocking the girls ice cream over. Wendy thought about apologizing to the girl, but knew better than too. She couldn’t afford to stop running, not even for a second. Rounding the corner she fell to the ground as the earth shook, her head bouncing off a nearby dumpster. As she came too, the screams of those caught in the catastrophe rang in her head.

We have to help. A voice in her head spoke.

“No, I don’t.” She replied. “They need a hero, and I sure as heck ain’t one.”

Still she felt compelled to move towards the screams, if only to try and make up for what she had done in her life. Running back into the street she found it in turmoil, nearby she saw the girl she had run into earlier trying to rescue a little girl holding onto a lamp post for dear life. “Need any help?” she asked, rushing over to the rescue attempt.

Relief poured through Koh as a girl arrived offering help. Her panic attack abating, she nodded.

Looking up at the floating girl she steadied her breathing.

"Yeah, she's stuck up there. Guess her powers woke. Talk about timing!" Koh nervously laughed.

She wiped her eyes and began manipulating the clear energy around the floating girl again.

"Here, I'm gonna pull her down, I just need someone to grab her. We'll tie her down or something once we get her."

Koh hardened the energy and began pulling the girl down again.

"Alrighty, she's almost here. Ready?"

"Sounds like a plan." Wendy said before running back over to the hot dog cart. Climbing on top of it she watched as Koh slowly winched the girl down with some sort of energy field. When the girl got to within mere inches of her Wendy lunged, hoping her body weight would be enough to drag the girl back down to earth. Luckily her theory proved to be true, as her feet touched the pavement moments later. Grabbing the cart for support Wendy curled her body around the girl to keep her new powers from carrying them both off into the clouds again.

"You want to hurry up with tying her off?" She asked the other girl. "I'm not sure how long I can hold her without both of us flying off into space."

Straining to pull the floating girl down, Koh barely registered the dark haired girl as she jumped bringing the floater back to Earth. The girls prompts pulled her back though and she released the energy, looking for anything to help keep floaty from dragging them off.

She searched the hot dog cart, coming across a few bungee cords.

"Got it!" She wrapped a bungee around the flying girls waist, then tied it to the handle of the cart.

"Alright, we should be good!"

The girls separated, slowly making sure no one would be slipping off to space soon. The bungee held fast and the floating girl held the handle of the cart, her feet above her head.

"Not actually sure what to do with her now..." Koh trailed off. "Maybe the police?"

She turned to the girl who helped her. "Any ideas?"

Needless to say, Wander was kind of surprised when he was all but plucked out of the air, finding himself hanging in place unable to move his arms. It felt like he was being grabbed by a giant hand.

After some minor, honestly rather flawed deductive reasoning, he turned to see a girl dressed as a witch, who was at the very least staring, if not outright glaring, at him.

Before he could ask her to put him down, he heard a voice he assumed was hers inside his head, reprimanding him for his aggression.

"Oh, come on!" He shouted, legs flailing uselessly. "I wasn't actually gonna seriously fight the guy! I was just gonna throw some half-hearted attacks, let him do the same, and eventually let him take out his frustration on me until he'd calmed down enough to talk it out properly! I thought that was clear from the fact that I was about to jump into a goddamn tornado!"

Now that was actually a half-lie. He'd planned to put genuine efforts into his attacks, mostly to make them realistic.

But yeah, also because he was still pissed about the plank that hit his head.

"Now could you let me down?" He asked, rage lowering to simple frustration at his current position. "I'd really prefer to be on the ground again, where if at least be more manoeuvrab-"

And then a second object, this time a particularly thick text book, slammed into his face. The book kept blowing into his face for a few seconds, before blowing off to reveal that Wander now also had a blood nose to match the suddenly larger trickle of blood from his forehead.

And then he began to alter his body, transforming into something that looked like a humanoid grizzly bear.

"Will you cut that shit out!" He shouted, legs flailing again at twice the speed. "I was even gonna play nice! Make you feel like you could accomplish something! Now I'm just gonna web you to the ground and force you to get along!"
