Post is going up- I didn't know what to do, so here's just me practicing descriptive writing while introducing what Ray's powers are like in combat. Haven't written in a year, so here's hoping that I get better from here. Next post I'll have him take a trip up to San Diego on both his uni's and Nyx's request, encountering the Young Bloods (assumedly) while trying to steal another artifact.

Not gonna lie, not proud of that writing, it didn't come off like I wanted it to. I just owe this RP a post, and I spent an inordinate amount of time on that thing.

Just as a heads up, the Young Bloods are still in the process of forming and, depending on the posting frequency of those of us involved in that, it might take a while yet.

Just as a heads up, the Young Bloods are still in the process of forming and, depending on the posting frequency of those of us involved in that, it might take a while yet.

That's fine by me- perhaps I'll simply cause a ruckus for you all to pursue later down the road before heading to interact with some of your side characters. We'll see what the situation is when I start working on my next one.

I am typing a post for my Warhound now, but I assume it would be ok if Tristan Carver/Shaman, just turned into a golem/manifested/channeled the element of Earth, and breaks through the roadblock or such?

It would be better than if i just posted with him being on the truck, but want to make sure before he moves into action.

I would prefer if you didn't, personally. Perhaps simply begin the motion? As in, attempt to break through the roadblock, without determining the outcome.

Bio: A long time ago, there was a Japanese scientist, Rise Okabe, a woman of great beauty who had no husband because she had been rendered infertile due to her scientific experiments. For a long time, she didn't care much, but as she aged, further taking her off the marriage market, she felt the expectations of her family and society pressing upon her. So, she remedied the situation in a convoluted way; she created a machine that would go to the Realm of the Gods, intending to ask one of them to be her husband and also cure her infertility. Why did she choose such a complicated solution? Well, let's just say that family and society had to be spited and their expectations likewise; they had to be taught that if they wished for something of her, they should be prepared to pay the price for pressuring and borderline harassing her.

But her machine made a minor miscalculation; instead of reaching the domain of the Japanese Pantheon, it made a gate to the Christian Heaven, or a dimension closely resembling it. Thankfully, the Angels guarding the dimension were willing to give Rise the time of day, and one of them, a fairly powerful one, looked at the female scientist and made a bargain with her: He will be her husband and her infertility will be magically cured. In exchange, well, she will help him spread Hope and Happiness throughout the world. It was a fair bargain, so she agreed.

And with that, Daniel was born into a household that, while strange, was loving. Rise eventually learned to make time for her child, while the Angel was loving and doting, yet at the same time, instilled in Daniel a respect for reason and independent-mindedness that was surprising for an Angel (from others' point of view). Of course, the story of how Rise and her husband met caused Daniel to think that 'True Angel' or not, Heaven was merely another dimension that intersected with Earth; deserving of respect, but not actual worship.

Nevertheless, Daniel shared with his father a desire to spread Hope throughout the world, and when a message came from America that a student exchange program between his school and another was about to start, he agreed to be an exchange student quickly...

Powers:

• Light of Dawn:
  
  Daniel can cause light to shine down from above, even in enclosed spaces like caves or dungeons. This power does not just provide a source of light, it dispels illusions, invisibility fields/tech, and renders all sapient beings unable to lie.
  
  
• Divine Wrath:
  
  Daniel can emit white and blue fire from his hand that burns even metal.
  
  
• Divine Healing:
  
  Daniel can channel the energy of the divine to heal almost all injuries and diseases to himself and others; this requires a moment of concentration, though.
  
  
• Flight:
  
  Daniel can sprout wings that phase through his clothes, not destroying them. These wings, supernatural in nature, allow him to fly as fast as an attack helicopter while preventing G-forces, air resistance, and pesky natural forces from hindering him.

Limitations (Reasons why your char can’t end the universe):

• Mortal Body - Daniel, despite his powers, does not have supernatural resilience and endurance beyond what his Flight power grants him in the air. That means that he is just as vulnerable to bullets, melee weapons, and mundane handcuffs as a normal boy of his age. This can be corrected by armor, but someone else will have to provide that.
• Energy Limit - Daniel's divine energy, if used in excess, can destroy himself, the people he strives to protect, and the surrounding area. So Daniel's father, Ramiel, used a spell to limit how much his son can draw from Heaven; this was with Daniel's consent. Thus, Daniel's powers cannot affect an area larger than a suburban house (yards included). Nor can they be kept 'on' longer than 7 seconds (Divine Wrath), 70 minutes (Light of Dawn), or in the case of Flight, 7 Days.

Weaknesses:

• Hormonal: Daniel likes girls and boys, and asking him out on a date makes him react nervously, erratically, or impulsively. Get him in a relationship, and he makes irrational decisions for the benefit of his partner. Get him in a relationship with someone on the enemy side...you get the picture.

Likes: Men, Women, Sweets, Reading.
Dislikes: Bullies, Gross Stuff.

That was the plan, but i would say the outcome is pretty predetermined, seeing as how it would be doubtful if a blockade could be intact after a two ton (not accurate but still) earthen golem impacts against it.

Yeah, but that kind of assumption is often what causes disagreements and misunderstandings, so I'd steer clear from it regardless.

Yeah, but that kind of assumption is often what causes disagreements and misunderstandings, so I'd steer clear from it regardless.

To be honest, it is; you have absolutely no idea what these people might have up their sleeve, for all you know one of them will just up and transform into an even bigger golem

Honestly that's not gonna happen in this case, but the point stands.

WEll I wasnt going to have anything happen to the guys, if anything the vehicles would have just been pushed out of the way, maybe depending as assuming they have military vehicles those can be from 10-40 tons depending, but I posted, just a prep thing.

Dragos Bee, I really like your app. Only thing I'm not sure about is the idea of her accessing Heavan. That seems a little strange to me. But I'm not sure if it's actually a problem. Either way, accepted and we can talk about that part of it some more as it comes up.

Sorry for not responding earlier, Dragos Bee. Since Tom already took a look at your app, I'll only add that, going off the wording in your app, it seems as if Daniel can use fire capable of melting metal, over the area of a house and its yard, for up to 70 minutes. If this is so I'd say that's a bit excessive.

Regarding how your character could be introduced, since we're low on active players at the moment I think it should be fine for Daniel to simply arrive at the area where the other Young Bloods are (you only have 4 pages of IC to catch up on, so it shouldn't be difficult, though if you absolutely need a summary I can try to provide one).

1.) Sounds a lot more reasonable, yeah. In general I think it would be good to limit your character (the more the better, really) in such a way that he can grow out of (some of) those limitations with time and become more powerful, instead of starting out that way

2.) Yeah, basically. The Young Bloods (yet to form an official team at this point in time, I'll note) are currently in the middle of a big mess in a park somewhere in San Diego.
