Notable features: Avalon is a collection of monestary fortresses, the areas that cities pop up around, and simple farmsteads dotting the landscape of the small archipeligo. Green and always fruitful the land is said to be blessed by God Himself by many of the denizans who never hunger for a meal and hardly ever endure a long harsh winter or a hot dry summer. Technology is very stagnant due to its unintentional isolation but fishermen are beginning to whisper of seeing giant metal ships sailing the seas with no sails, of course the notion is insane but they speak of it. While technology may not have advanced all that much past the Middle Ages magical and alchemical knowledge far surpasses any other nations knowledge on Earth with the monestaries being not only the political and spiritual centers of Avalon but also the centers of scholarship. This alchemy and magic has entered into everyday life making the quality of life on Avalon about roughly the same as modern nations.

But the App Curse is my habit of loosing apps, I have terrible luck, either my Browser Dies, My PC Dies, misclick, etc etc. Any way to lose an App I've done it, More then Once usually...

Best advice I've ever received on NS was to write both posts and apps in Microsoft Word- that way you have autosaves even if everything goes wrong. Google docs is even better, since then you have it everywhere you need it

I've managed to lose Google Docs Files, That's how bad the curse is!

Bio: The story of Ray Yoshimitsu begins with his birth. Hey, what did you expect, some dramatic intro? This is a bio, not an origin story. Anyways, Ray was born to a lower-class Japanese family early in life, where he was given up for adoption following the destruction of his house via typhoon. He ended up being adopted by Mary Thornton, a astronomer focused upon discovering concrete proof of dark matter. Though she didn’t have much time for Ray, Mary ensured that he went to a good school, ate well, made friends, and was cared for as best as possible. Her limited vacation days were spent showing Ray the world, traveling to exotic countries to experience the diversity and beauty of this planet we live on.

In time, however, these good times came to an end. Mary happened upon a lead in the form of an extraterrestrial box, a container she believed to contain condensed dark matter based upon linguistics reports. Sleepless nights passed as she tried to crack open the device until, finally, one night it opened. It was not dark matter that spewed forth, however, but rather the forces of an alternate dimension. The text had not referred to dark matter within the device, but rather an entire dark dimension locked from interacting with our own via this safeguard.

However, the trespassers underestimated Doctor Thornton’s resolve, and the scientist managed to stop the bleeding by locking the box at the cost of being dragged within. Later that day, when Ray got home, it was not his mother waiting for him, exhausted from her work but still with that loving smile upon her face. Rather it was the shadowy form of a mysterious woman, wisps of smoke protruding from the box to cling to her. Upon questioning she revealed herself to be a deity called Nyx, and offered Ray a deal- freedom for freedom. You see, both she and Ray’s poor mother had been locked within the box upon its activation, and she needed his help to get them both out. Ray agreed, and now roams the streets at night, seeking means to free his mother and Nyx.

Powers:

• [Shadow Manipulation]: Ray uses shadows to draw beings from the Shadow Dimension into our world, drawing demons from walls and having the shadows of enemy combatants grab their owners.
• [Shadow Form]: Usually this ability is related to teleporting, or incorporeality. For Ray, this is far from the case. Ray uses the shadows about him to fashion a body of incredible power when he needs to get his hands dirty- if you want a job done, you have to do it yourself. This gives him enhanced strength and enhanced durability.
• [Eye of Nyx]: Ray’s left eye is connected to the shadow dimension, allowing him to gaze into this world from shadows. It grants him perfect night vision, as well as the means to use shadows as mirrors.

Limitations:

• [Beholden to Nyx]: Ray must keep Nyx happy in order to retain his powers- one wrong move and Nyx can break her pact with him
• Secret Identity – Ray must lead a normal life in addition to gallivanting around doing Nyx’s bidding, requiring both caution and a significant amount of time not spent summoning demons

Weaknesses:

• [The Light]: Powerful lights can weaken Ray’s abilities significantly. Like, I’m gonna repeat this a bunch. Light’s not that hard to come by.

Hey, people who might still be interested in this, just as a heads up I've made a small update to the character list. I haven't removed too many inactive players, since I want to talk to Tomia about that first, but I did remove a few players who have become ex-nations (and in one case, a player whose posts disappeared), as well as Utceforp's characters, since he formally resigned from the RP. I've also added Ray to the character list.

Everything else I left untouched, since there haven't been any new faction/mission/etc submissions and I see no issue in keeping those from former players.

Also as an announcement, the OP has been rather busy these days, but he remains interested in keeping the RP going.
