Valyria, I've added the Hardyngs to the ORBAT at 4,000 men as we don't know precisely how strong they are, but they're likely among the stronger of the Vale lords which puts them around the 4K mark.

They could be a bit lower, maybe around 2k, given the strength of the Lord's Declarent.

I would assume that since they're a lower lord (sworn to house Waynwood) that they're around the 2,000 or less mark.

I hope that whoever is playing Jon takes into account the character changes that comes with being resurrected. That's one of the many things I hated about S6 of GoT.

Maybe he'll be like a Lady Stoneheart.

We also have Beric Dondarrion to draw comparisons from.

Well, Beric died... a lot, thus he changed a lot more. Stoneheart (as far as we know) as only died the one time. I feel like her and Jon would be closer in comparison. Or perhaps we could follow a theory that Jon's "essence" or whatever might be in Ghost while something else might be warging Jon's body.

Generally in Westeros, I believe the two are often the same.

I'd say you can just give them Riverlands appropriate names, since it's unlikely they'll be named in the next book, or that it'll come out in time to affect the RP.

Its not that I'm doubting your ability. Its that, firstly, its a bit of a restriction on yourself. Secondly, a lot of what Quaithe does is up to speculation on her intention, motivation and what she even means. Its difficult to translate that to RP.

Faction: The Blood Riders [Formerly known as 'The Helping Hands']
Faction Type: Freeriders [Former Sellsword Company]
Culture: None in particular
Leader/s: Melila of Lys
Territory: No territory [yet]
Sovereign: No sovereign [yet]
Armed Forces: 135 [173 Blood Riders in total]
Backstory: The origin of the Blood Riders lies with a Dornish merchant called Dagos Sand. Dagos travelled all over Essos for his trade and he had grown tired of paying large amounts of money for his protection each and every time he entered dangerous lands. The solution was simple, he had to gather his own men.
While it seemed difficult at first, Dagos soon found out that there were plenty of people in Essos looking for a purpose. Some exiles from Westeros were the first to join him and were soon followed by exiles from Essos as well. To fill up the empty gaps Dagos bought slaves from their masters and incorporated them into his guards. While they were technically free men from the moment Dagos bought them, most chose to stay with him as he offered them a life they likely wouldn't have on their own.
After three years trade started to go downhill and with the threat of bandits rising Dagos decided to end his trade business and to continue as a Sellsword Company called 'The Helping Hands'. He almost doubled the amount of capable warriors in the following months and soon riches found their way back to him as traders from all over Essos desired protection from the many threats they could encounter.
Sadly for Dagos, his role as Commander of the Helping Hands only lasted a year. Stabbed to death by an outlaw became the end of the merchant who became a Sellsword.

After the death of Dagos, his son, Vorian Sand, took over. Vorian, opposed to his father, was a much more capable fighter and laid the foundation of a good reputation amongst the traders. For eight long years Vorian served as the Commander before he too was eventually slain in battle.

Ballero, a man of the Vale and personal guard of Vorian became Commander after he avenged Vorian's death. He, along with those part of the Company during those days set the tradition that the person who avenges the death of the Commander would become the new Commander.
Ballero was killed in battle after serving as the Commander for nearly two years.

After Ballero came Syrio, a former Slave and Pit-Fighter of Meereen. During Syrio's time as Commander the Company reached its all-time high, being able to field a force of almost seven hundred. Traders no longer hired the Company because of its size and so the Company turned to the Free Cities who were always looking for others to fight their wars.
A few weeks before his death Syrio managed to settle a long time quarrel between the members of the Company about the needs of the Company. The members of the Company were split into the four groups that composed each side of the quarrel and each of those groups had to elect a Serjeant who would advise the Commander on their peoples needs. Profits of the Company were now also split into four, giving each of the four the ability to spend it as they pleased.
After twenty-four years of serving as the Commander Syrio passed away in his sleep after a bitter fight with an unknown illness, being the first and only Commander not to die in battle.

With nobody to avenge Syrio's death the Company became leaderless. With the four Serjeants in charge now it became their task to elect a new leader, and when they finally agreed to a new Commander some three months later, It appeared most resented the choice.
The Helping Hands new leader, Neseya, a liberated bed-slave from Lys, had no qualities when it came to commanding a Sellsword Company. In fact, most believed that she used her only qualities to get the position, the qualities of being young, beautiful and being an expert in the art of love. Opposed to what many believed, she did not cause the Company to fall as she often consulted the four Serjeants for advice. Neseya avoided battles and thanks to that she managed to hold on to her position for eleven years before being killed in an ambush.

The title of Commander was passed down to Rezhak, a former Slave and Pit-Fighter of Meereen, who passed the title to Harlon after five years of service. Harlon, an Ironborn who managed to survived the wild seas, didn't have as much luck on land and was killed three months after he became the Commander. Harlon still managed to hold on fairly long compared to his successor, Garrett Storm, who got killed just one month later.

The great decline of the Company started after Garrett's death, when Jon Stone, a Valemen bastard, became the commander. It wasn't a lack of skill or a lack of popularity that caused the great decline, all it took was one bad decision. The Company signed a contract with Myr in order to fight it's disputes with Tyrosh and Lys, a contract they would soon regret. The contract pulled them into a long lasting conflict that saw many deaths, including Jon Stone himself after serving as the Commander for some sixteen years. Aside from the great decline, Jon was also famed for the introduction of second names to all members of the Company.

Jon's successor was no other than his wife, Lysa of the Helping Hands, who received the title after avenging Jon while pregnant of her second child. Lysa could not do much for the Company while in charge as the war was still ranging on and she was eventually killed near the end of the war after four years of service. Lysa is primarily known for being the first Commander born in the Company itself.

Edmund Stone of the Helping Hands, son of Jon Stone and Lysa of the Helping Hands was the one who avenged his mother. His service as Commander was a short but disputed one. Many disagreed with him being the Commander for two main reasons.
Firstly there was the issue that Edmund had not done anything to avenge his mother. He simply sat on the back of his mother's horse, which after her death just ran straight ahead and killed the soldier in question. Secondly there was the issue of Edmund's age as he was just nine years old. Still the Serjeants named him the new Commander, a title he lost after getting killed in the following battle, six days later. Following Edmund's death the members of the Company agreed that the Serjeants should have the authority to remove a Commander from his or her position if he/she was deemed unfit.
Edmund's death finally marked the end of the great decline.

Essino of the Dothraki Sea, an exiled Dothraki who had been with the Company for many years avenged Edmund's death and so became the new Commander. Essino had great dreams and promised the Company to end the decline it had seen over the past three Commanders.
In order to do this he had to escape the endless war of the three Free Cities, a task that appeared harder than it seemed at first as Essino refused to break the contract.
Roughly two years after he became Commander Essino finally came up with a solution. With less than sixty members left the Company stood at the edge of falling apart, but the low amount of members also granted a unique opportunity.
The old Sellsword Company of the Helping Hands got disbanded and under the same structure and traditions a new Company was founded. A Company of Freeriders called the Blood Riders. With the new name and enough differences that mattered Essino managed to escape the disastrous contract signed by Jon Stone. For another ten years Essino Commanded the Company and under his Command its numbers started to increase once more.

Herrock of the westerlands became Commander after the death of Essino and after four years of service he was avenged by Trebor of Dorne, who kept the title with him for two years. Following Trebor there was Narbo of Qohor, a liberated slave, who remained Commander for almost a year. After weeks of searching for the outlaw that killed Narbo, he was eventually found and killed by the current Commander, Melila of Lys, who took the Freeriders from Essos to Westeros in search of new opportunities and better contracts.

Character Name: Melila of Lys
Titles: Commander of the Blood Riders
Culture: Freefolk [Born] & Semi-Dothraki [Raised]
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Allegiance: The Blood Riders
Profession: Commander of the Blood Riders
Religion: Not Religious
Backstory: Melila was born in one of the Ice-River Clans of the Free Folk. She was taken from her home when she was still a baby and after a long journey she ended up in the City of Lys where she was to be trained and used as a bed-slave. Luckily for her she was bought by the Company from the age of three, avoiding her having to live her life in one of the many Pillow Houses.

Within the Company Melila was raised by Azzo of the Dothraki Sea, a man who became a real father figure for her. From learning how to eat and how to speak to learning how to ride a horse and how to defend herself in battle, Azzo was always the one teaching her. And when he wasn't around, Melila spend much of her time playing with her three dogs, who she had received as a gift from Azzo. In the end Melila had a relative normal childhood, as far as that was possible with mercenaries of course. Her childhood eventually came to an end when she first rode into battle along with Azzo and the other members of the Company at the age of twelve.

Melila, from as far as she could remember, had a nightmare each and every time she went to sleep. Azzo was the first one to notice and took her to many people in the hope they would know what caused the nightmares. While Melila couldn't explain her nightmare at first, she later described it as if she saw someone's eye, filled with a kind of fear she never saw before. Some of the educated people thought it might have been caused by some kind of trauma while others claimed it was a curse. In the end it did not matter as nobody had a remedy for the nightmares. Waking up, covered in sweat and crying her lungs out was a thing she would probably have to live with for the rest of her life.

In the aftermath of the battle with the outlaws, a battle that left two Serjeants and Commander Narbo of Qohor dead, it became clear that the one who had slain Narbo was amongst those who managed to escape. The Company started a hunt for the outlaw and after several weeks they eventually came across the routed outlaws, including that one outlaw they were searching for. During the small battle Melila killed the wanted outlaw by stabbing a spear through his chest. It was an action that caused her to become the new Commander.

The very first decision as the new Commander she made was to leave Essos, this for the simple fact that the contracts they received barely covered the upkeep costs. With war raging in Westeros Melila figured she would be able to receive better contracts there. Before they left Essos though, they made one last journey through the Free Cities to gather some additional riders, as the Serjeants knew that they were going need every soul they could get.

Other Notable Things:
  • Outside of battle Melila is always accompanied by her three dogs, which are large, black dogs [Like Tibetan Mastiffs].
    • While in battle the dogs are with the children, guarding them together with some members of the Company.
      • The dogs are named after the three most influential Commanders: Dagos, Syrio and Essino.
  • The eye Melila sees is the eye of her mother, and the fear it carries is the fear of the Others.

Character Name: Serylla Stone of the Helping Hands
Titles: Serjeant of the Grown
Culture: Valemen [Born] & Semi-Valemen [Raised]
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Allegiance: The Blood Riders
Profession: Serjeant of the Blood Riders
Religion: Not Religious
Backstory: Serylla Stone of the Helping Hands was born into the faction. Her father, Jon Stone, was killed as commander before Serylla's birth and his death was avenged by her mother, Lysa of the Helping Hands, while she was pregnant of Serylla. Her mother was eventually killed as Commander when Serylla was just four years old and six days later Serylla's older brother, Edmund Stone of the Helping Hands, met the same fate. After the death of her mother Serylla was raised by Robert, a close friend of Serylla's father. She learned how to fight and how to ride a horse as early as possible and rode into battle along with the others from the age of eleven.

From there on not much interesting is to tell about Serylla's life up till the point of the death of the Commander, Narbo of Qohor, with whom she was in love. During that same battle the Serjeant of the Grown was killed and by tradition a new Serjeant had to be chosen. After two days of fierce debates, the Grown chose Serylla as their new Serjeant.
Serylla felt like it was given to her more out of pity than anything else. Pity for her family which died before Serylla could remember them, pity for her father who caused the great decline and pity for her for losing her lover. Whatever reason it was that made them pick her as their Serjeant, Serylla still valued the title and promised to do her best for the Grown and the Company.

Character Name: Azzo of the Dothraki Sea
Titles: Serjeant of the Second
Culture: Dothraki [Born & Raised]
Age: 41
Gender: Male
Allegiance: The Blood Riders
Profession: Serjeant of the Blood Riders
Religion: The Horse God
Backstory: Azzo was born and raised in a khalasar of the Haunted Lands. At the age of twenty-four he became Ko of his own khas and shortly after he married his lover, Eshinni. Their marriage was a happy one and the two looked forward to their coming child, but none of them ever got to see it in the end. Some eight months into Eshinni's pregnancy the khalasar was attacked by another, far larger khalasar.
A quick and decisive defeat followed. Azzo survived the aftermath of the Jaqqa rhan thanks to his horse, which had fallen on top of him.

Once the victorious Khalasar had left Azzo crawled from underneath his horse and started to search for his wife. He knew his wife and knew she wouldn't have allowed herself to be taken captive, thus she had to be amongst the corpses. All Azzo hoped for was that he could save his unborn child. His hope shattered when he found her with a large stab wound right through her abdomen.

For three days Azzo sat there, next to his wife, mourning her death and nothing more. It was there where the Company found him, and offered him a new life with them. With nothing left to lose Azzo joined the Company, though it soon became clear that he could not leave the loss of his child behind him. After five years of mourning the Commander, Essino, had enough of it and gave Azzo a young girl, Melila of Lys, to take care of.

Azzo hated it at first, but soon he grew fond of her and eventually found peace with the loss of his own unborn child. Azzo was the first to notice that Melila struggled with nightmares and whenever there were people with knowledge around, he took Melila to them in order to figure out what was wrong with her. Even though her condition remained strange, Azzo did raise her the best he could. He taught her how to ride a horse and how to fight from the moment she could understand what he was saying. In the end she became his one and only daughter.

During the same battle in which Commander Essino of the Dothraki Sea was killed, the Serjeant of the Second, also a Dothraki, met his fate as well. The Second decided that they would honour the fallen Horselords and as a result Azzo was chosen to become the new Serjeant of the Second. Thanks to his experience as Ko of a khalasar he quickly made a name for himself and to this day he has been regarded as one of the most valued Serjeants throughout the history of the Company.

Character Name: Izhik 'The Faceless' of Meereen
Titles: Serjeant of the Free Fighters
Culture: Shadow Men [Born] & Semi-Ghiscari [Raised]
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Allegiance: The Blood Riders
Profession: Serjeant of the Blood Riders
Religion: Bakkalon
Backstory: Izhik was born amongst the Shadow Men in the Shadow Lands. His father was a reaver and made the mistake of taking Izhik, five years old at the time, along with him during one of his raids. The raid turned bad and Izhik, just like his father and the other reavers, were captured and sold into slavery. After two years of being sold and bought Izhik ended up in Meereen where he was sold to be raised and trained as a city guard. Izhik was probably one of the worst slaves one could own as he made many attempts to escape, only to be caught and punished each and every time.

After six years of serving, they had enough of him and sold him off to die in the fighting pits. Instead of being killed in the pits, Izhik showed a hidden talent of fighting, winning each time over and over again. Slowly he grew in popularity all the way up till the point where he fought in Daznak's Pit. Despite his success in the pits, Izhik kept trying to escape, and even though he almost made it out of the city on more than one occasion, he never succeeded fully.

Three years he fought to survive in the pits of Meereen until he was bought by a new master, a master who wasn't a master at all. The man who bought him was a Serjeant of the Blood Riders. Izhik took the offer to join him and so he became a free man, fighting on his own behalf instead of that of others. After several battles Izhik and the Serjeant made it a competition to see who could kill the most enemy Serjeants and Commanders during battle. After several years the competition ended as the Serjeant got killed. He died during the same battle in which Commander Narbo and the Serjeant of the Grown were killed. By tradition the Free Fighters had to choose a new Serjeant, and as always they chose their best fighter, which was Izhik.

Other Notable Things:
  • Izhik is called 'The Faceless' for the fact that little of is face can be recognized due to the many scars that cover it. When there are strangers around he tends to wrap a piece of cloth around his head so people won't stare at him.

Character Name: Gorne of the Free Folk
Titles: Serjeant of the Liberated
Culture: Free Folk [Born & Raised]
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Allegiance: The Blood Riders
Profession: Serjeant of the Blood Riders
Religion: The Old Gods
Backstory: Gorne was born and raised amongst the Nightrunners of the Free Folk. He lived a normal life though he discovered that not everything was normal. He had dream in which he wandered around through the woods, low to the ground, almost as if he was an animal. When he explained his dreams to his kin they told him he was a Skinchanger, a person who entered the minds of animals. Gorne would have learned all about it from his kin, but this never happened as he was taken away from his people shortly after her learned of his strange ability, and with that his dreams also disappeared.

Gorne was thirteen years old when he got captured by Tyroshi slavers who were raiding along the coast north of the Wall. He was taken to the city of Tyrosh where he thought he would end his fate. Hunger, torture and disease were an all too common there. For four long years Gorne had to fight for his survival, but surviving he did. He, along with a good amount of other slaves were eventually bought by the Company out of pity for the way they were treated. Saved from a living hell Gorne could not have been more thankful to the Company, and instead of trying to make his way home, he joined them as he felt like he had to repay them in one way or another.

While with the Company, Gorne found a young Merlin with a broken wing. Instead of giving the bird a quick death, like what usually happened, this bird was different... It was a strange, unexplainable feeling but Gorne couldn't kill the bird, or have him killed by others for that matter. And so instead of killing the bird, he took the bird with him and started to look after it. After some months the Merlin was finally able to fly again, and while Gorne wanted to set it free, the bird remained with him. It was at this point that the strange dreams returned, though this time he was not running through the forest, but he was flying over the Company. After a few of these dreams over a couple of months time he decided to tell about him being a Skinchanger to the others, if only in the hopes that they might be able to teach him more about it. Upon telling them though, they only laughed at it and disregarded it as mere dream.

From there on Gorne kept it to himself. It was not until one day, during dinner, that the others found out his claim of being a Skinchanger was real. While eating Gorne suddenly fell over, and shortly after his Merlin landed next to him. When Gorne woke up he didn't know what had happened. For long it only happened in dreams, but it never happened like this before. The others believed him now, but nobody could help him out as they did not know anything about it, although some did recall some old stories about people controlling animals.
It became a thing Gorne had to live with, though he always kept his eyes and ears open in case there would be somebody who knew more about it.

Gorne eventually received the title of Serjeant of the Liberated under the command of Herrock of the westerlands. With the new title he set aside his dreams of returning home one day and devoted himself to prevent others from meeting their fates like he would have done in Tyrosh if the Company had not saved him.

Other Notable Things:
  • Gorne cannot enter the minds of any animals other than his Merlin and the dogs that accompany the Freeriders.
    • Gorne can only enter the minds of the dogs after he has learned more about his ability.
      • Gorne cannot enter the minds of the three dogs owned by Melila. The bond between the dogs and Melila is simply too strong.
